OK, I had to update this review due to the terrible service I have had the last *3* times I have dined here. I always go back because the food is so good (even though they don't always bring me what I order) and I keep thinking the service will get better. BUT IT JUST KEEPS GETTING WORSE!. The last time I was there, I ordered a strawberry basil mimosa, but I was brought a regular mimosa. I let my server know and asked for the strawberry basil. He did not bring it, so I asked the next time he came back. He still did not bring it! When he came back after we were done eating, I let him know again I would really like what I actually ordered. He apologized and informed me that the bartender is stressed out because she stayed out until 4am drinking and was very hungover. At that point, I asked to talk to a manager. He brought our check (which charged me for the strawberry basil mimosa), cashed us out and I waited about another 30 minutes because I still wanted to talk to a manager. The manager never came over and we watched some of the servers and the hungover bartender with pink hair do shots behind the bar. Hair of the dog? Anyway, I will never go back.

Taste of Belgium popped up on my yelp app and was about 0.2 miles away from my hotel I was staying at.  It had pretty good reviews, so I thought why not and try it out.  I'm a big fan of chicken and waffles and this was what they were known for, so I had to try it.  I arrived at 2:30pm and they close at 3:00pm for weekday lunch, but they seated my friend and me, as well as guests well up until 3:00pm.  The people who work here are very friendly, polite, and attentive.

My friend and I ordered the chicken and waffles, Liegeoise salad, some frites, and soup of the day.  The chicken and waffle was pretty tasty, as it should be.  Chicken was crispy and tender inside. The waffle was sweet, thick and delectable.  It, however, reminded me of prepackaged Belgian waffles you could buy at Costco. I'm sure they make them fresh here, but as I ate the waffle...I just kept wondering, "Are these from Costco?" The Liegeoise salad was interesting and definitely was not what one would typically think of as a "salad".  It's a warm, cooked potato salad with bacon, haricot verts, onion and an vinegary dressing.  It was very tasty, although rich in carbohydrates as it had many potatoes.  This might pose a problem with someone who has to cut back on the carbs.  I think one of the highlights were the frites... crispy, warm, and the aioli sauce that came with it was sweet and salty, which made eating the frites a delectable experience.  Lastly, the soup of the day was an interesting one -- I can't remember the name of the soup but it was almost like a chili which was also rich in potatoes.  To me, it didn't have much of a French or Belgian taste, but had more of a Cincinnati chili air to it.  It was tasty, soupy, and warm -- definitely, good comfort food.

Overall, the food was solid and the customer service was superior.  This place makes a great lunch spot.  I don't know how noisy it gets at 12pm, but at 2:30pm it was very quiet, private, and intimate.  Four solid stars!

Meh, this place is ok. The service was friendly but slow. The coffee was just ok, and I've had better waffles.  I found their waffles to be a little on the dry side.

Chicken n Waffles.  Waffles with fruit and whipped cream.  You should definitely try if it you haven't already. The waffles here crispy on the outside, and have the perfect texture.  The chicken is crusted and seasoned well.  It is a bit heavy and kind of sits in your stomach all day-- but well worth the trip and calories.

I consider ToB one of the best things about Cincinnati.  The food is great! The service is usually very good...the servers are friendly and attentive - particularly considering how busy they can get. The only reason I give them 4 stars instead of 5 is that they almost refuse to give you a breakfast menu anymore... we've been there 2 or 3 times before 11 am and they give us only a lunch menu. We have to practically beg for a breakfast menu. They want everyone to know they also serve lunch - fine, I get it.. give me one lunch menu along with a breakfast menu and I'll be happy.  Other than that, it's great! I also think it's worth mentioning that they have great desserts and pastries in the case...their waffle/bread pudding is like no other!

Just went for lunch.  We tried the burger (great) and the special of the day, the chicken philly sandwich on baguette (really great).  For dessert we had the Key Lime Tart.   I don't know why I haven't been here sooner.  I think I thought that it was focused on the waffles.  Will be back for lunch and will be back to try dinner ASAP.

Ate at Taste of Belgium twice in one day -- lunch and dinner.  Food was amazing and the staff was helpful, quick, accomodating, thoughtful, and had great counsel on food choice.  I was in and out in 45 minutes for lunch -- loved the salad nicoise.  Dinner was perfect with mussles, frites, and arugula salad.  They made me feel at home as a single diner.  I also eat gluten-free and there was plenty to choose from.  Great experience...next time I'm working with Brandery, I will eat there again..and again...

Really wonderful place you will not find anywhere else. Great service with friendly staff. Excellent food. The signature chicken 'n waffle is terrific as are the frites. Not huge portions but just right. Great for people watching too.

Stick to what they're famous for: waffles. Chicken and waffles, covered in fruit, or just plain!

The other food I've had has been ok. Nothing amazing. I recommend doing brunch over dinner, as it's much more reasonably priced. Overall, I'll be back but only for brunch waffles!

Here I go again with my last second Cincinnati-landmark tour... And here we go again with another regrettable last second discovery.

I played hookey on Friday and ventured down to Findlay Market to hit up some of the places I've heard most about while I picked up some things to make salmon burgers even better. The first stop of 2 was Taste of Belgium and it was an overwhelmingly positive one.

I got to the counter and as I have started doing recently, let the girl working the register order for me. I did place the restriction of it being savory though, as I hadn't eaten yet that day. She chose the Traditional Crepe for me, a crepe filled with egg, ham, and gruyere and my god was that amazing. They were having issues with the register that day, as it wouldn't open, but I can't fault them for that.

I went to the window to watch the girl(a very cute one I might add) make my crepe. She had just finished with another woman's who wasn't that patient and she looked flustered. I tried to calm her down through stupid jokes and conversation, and she opened up and was quite nice. She broke two consecutive crepes for me, but the woman before had a sweet one with sugar which makes the surface sticky. Again, I do not fault her for that, because when I got my crepe, everything was hunky-f%&kin-dory.

It wasn't huge, but it was warm and gooey and filling. It was worth every bit of the $6.50 I paid for, because I got some great food, met some nice people, and added my name to the list of people that repeatedly say, "What?!?! You've never been to Taste of Belgium? Well, you just have to go!"

Small price to pay for that.

    Oh. My. Gosh.

Those are the only words to describe the Chicken n' Waffle sandwich that I devoured at A Taste of Belgium in OTR.

I first became acquainted with the spicy meets sweet treat when the owner and head chef did a demonstration at my current workplace. I was able to sample the sandwich and had been craving it ever since. A co-worker and I decided that enough was enough and we were going to find the restaurant and get our chicken and waffle fix.

The restaurant itself has a neat set up...a quaint eat in area and bar on the right and the kitchen out in the open on the left. They also have a huge assortment of homemade cookies, pastries and other sweets in a glass case up front that will make your mouth water by looking at it. Our server (I wish I could remember her name!) was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and it was obvious she truly loved her job. Once we explained to her the sandwich we had sampled at work, she informed us that their chicken n' waffle sandwich constantly changes, but that she would do her best to get us exactly what we wanted...and that she did.

The fried chicken breast has a bit of a kick to it, but isn't overly spicy (I'm a wimp when it comes to hot food). It was garnished with lettuce, carrots, cucumber and bleu cheese crumbles, along with a side of hot sauce and maple syrup for dipping. The waffle that is used as the sandwich of this meal is to die for. Our server even took the extra step to bring us out a piece of the sugar, imported straight from Belgium, that is used. She went on to explain that the rock-looking sugar melts and caramelizes within the waffle, making it unique.

I didn't have a chance to sample anything from the bar (bummer) but their bar menu looked extremely interesting and was extensive with imports. I would highly recommend A Taste of Belgium to anyone looking for a decently-priced ($10) and delicious meal. I will definitely be back!

Before eating Taste of Belgium, I had no idea waffles could taste so good. The waffles are surprisingly dense, and covered in a sweet glaze. Even though the waffles are their specialty, that isn't all they do by any means. There is a full selection of heavier dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Well... maybe not so much for breakfast, but my point is that they have more traditional foods for other meals and though I haven't tried everything, based on what I have tried it's probably all very good. There is also a commendable beer selection, though most of it is bottles.

The chicken and waffles are amazing. They cover both the chicken and the waffles in a mixture of syrup and hot sauce, which at first I thought was madness, but turned out to be amazing. We went here last Friday. Originally the plan was to go to Senate, but it was a 2 hour wait for 2 people and we needed to be somewhere within the hour. Taste of Belgium was able to seat us quickly, and the service was fast. The waitress was very friendly, and knowledgeable about their beer selection.

Overall, my experiences with Taste of Belgium have all been fantastic. I had the best chicken and waffles experience I've ever had, and will probably ever have, there. I plan on returning regularly. One last thing I thought I should note, there always seems to be a light haze in the air. I don't know if I really mind it all that much though. There are worse diseases to die of than waffle lung.

A little too much hype for it's own good.  They are aspiring to good things, but not quite making it happen.  But - if you like Belgian beer and waffles, then go.

Our appetizer was a chicken-mushroom-pastry thing that was GOOD, but I usually love meat pies.  My friend had Belgian stew with belgian frites.  The stew had an odd taste to it (not good for a mostly meat dish), but the fries were crispy.  I picked chicken and waffles.  The chicken is lightly breaded and just OK.  The waffles were thick and great.  You can tell this is where they put their love.  I love belgian style beer, but I didn't feel like springing for $9 and up for one beer.

The service and atmosphere was good. We had no wait on a weekday evening and it wasn't crowded.  The bathrooms were clean

We went to try something different, but the flavors just were not there.  Maybe next time will just be beer and waffles.

We recently had a sandwich that was to die for.  Found out the breading part of the sandwich was made from waffles from Taste of Belgium.  They were so good that I couldn't get them out of my mind, I had to have them again, I had to share them with others to let friends know they were missing one of the "best things on earth".

Found out we could buy them ourselves at Taste of Belgium.  So we headed to Findlay Market which is where one location is.  This was the first time at Findlay.  Taste of Belgium was the first place we found in the Market - nice  choice of spots to pick TOB.

There they were, 4 to a bag or individual.  The chef was cooking some fresh ones as we watched.  The smell was divine.

The lady told us they were $12.99 for 4 or $20 for 8.  Wow, didn't expect that, but what should one expect for "one of the best things on earth"?!

Super excited to share these tonight with friends.  We'll be back.  Soon!

    Yummy crepes and belgian waffles!!

We came on a saturday morning. Finding the area was a little difficult, but I'm just not too familiar with Findlay Market. We told the worker that it was our first time, and he was so kind of recommended the veggie crepe and regular belg waffs.

We walked around outside eating them and enjoying all the booths, it was wonderful. Definitely will come back!

This is a review for the original one inside Findlay Market. I was down here on thursday getting some supplies and I wanted a waffle since I had not had one in a few months.
The waffle was good as always the only thing was, the waffle was served luke warm and no offer to heat it up for a few seconds or make a fresh one.

Yes, the waffles are expensive. Yes, the waffles are totally worth it. The crystallized sugar on the waffles pretty much make syrup a non-necessity.  Definitely get a four pack to take home. You'll be craving these for days after you have your first.

The crepes are really good, too! They fold them up into a neat little wedge shape so you walk around and enjoy your fabulous Parisian treat.

Decent waffles, for which they get a 4.

For _value_ they get a 2.  Overpriced, tiny portions (those waffles are itty bitty!).  They get way too much hype.

5 dollars for a tiny waffle with nutella and some banana slices.
9 bucks for the same tiny waffle with ONE small breaded fried chicken breast.

Good food, poor value.  Again, Cincinnatians disproportionately reward "decent" stuff because of the lack of options.

I have now dubbed these "Crack Waffles"

I am definitely a fan of the waffle.  I prefer mine plain, and oh boy is it every tasty.  The texture is just right.  It is dense with a slight crispiness on the outside.  It is not too sweet.  It is just right!  I recently visited Belgium.  I did not find a better tasting waffle there.

I have had the traditional crepe as well.  I love the crepe itself, but I wasn't blown away by what is inside.  I found the melted cheese produced a lot of oil which ended up all over my hand and shirt and pants.  Ok, maybe I just had really bad luck that day.

Anyhow, I highly recommend Taste of Belgium.  It has a YUM factor that I crave.  I can't leave Findlay Market without paying them a visit.

MMmmmmmmm.... so good. Sometimes I want to go to Findlay Market just so that I can go to Taste of Belgium.

I buy a pack of their waffles to reheat later for breakfast, and it makes getting out of bed so much easier in the morning.

The only problem is that their food is so good that if you order a waffle, you'll also want a crepe and vice versa. The best plan is to go with a friend, get one of each, and share them.

Although not advertised, I'm fairly certain they add unicorn tears to the waffle batter. It's an amazing party in your mouth.
When my mom came to visit from Carolina, I insisted on taking her to Findlay to try TOB and ever since I am required by law to bring waffles with me when I come home.
    They are addictive.

Also little known fact- Some of the best pizza in Cincinnati can be found here too.

Stop reading Yelp and go get some right now. Your mouth will thank you.

I have the privilege of having Taste of Belgium booths follow me around at various events I attend. Seriously.

I became a Belgium fan after sampling the delights at their Findlay Market store. Since then, I've come across their booth at events such as The Chocolate Festival, The Art of Food, and the Freedom Center. I'm always ecstatic to discover Jean-François serving up his tasty treats, as Taste of Belgium is one of my favorite breakfast and/or snack spots.

The waffles are unlike any waffle I ever had. (Actually, I don't like "American waffles.") Belgium waffles are warm and soft on the inside, golden brown and crisp on the outside. You can get them served with whipped cream, chocolate, or fruit, however I prefer them plain. They are delicious enough on their own.

At Findlay Market, Taste of Belgium also offers crepes and fresh brewed pomegranate tea. The vegetarian crepe is my favorite. If you walk behind the booth, there is a case full of baked goods for sale, including macaroons, tarts, and Stromboli. Additionally, there is a Cajun waffle served only during Mardi Gras which features tiny spicy shrimp and cilantro. What a unique taste! I would love to get this more often.

Whenever I'm at Findlay Market, I make sure to pick up a sack of waffles to go; they're 4 for $12.00. Cook them at home for 5 minutes at 450º  and it'll taste like it's right off the griddle.

Taste of Belgium has fantastic service, food, and involvement in the community. I wonder where Jean-François will appear next?

Found this place on YELP and only had a wee bit of trouble locating it toward the back of Findlay Market (actually we were feet away from it when I asked directions...  boo on me!  I need to be more adventurous, and typically I AM, but I REALLY want waffles).

The waffles with strawberries and whipped cream were yummy.  There's a carmelized sugar coating on the waffles that reminds me of something I get at Whole Foods.  In fact, the waffles are the same size.  If I didn't see the guy actually prepare the waffle with the waffle maker - or perhaps it was all sleight of hand? - I would say they were the same.  That's not a bad thing.

You have not tasted heaven in the form of food until you have tried Taste of Belgium's Belgium waffle. It's absolutely delightful, syrup not needed. I'm dead serious. Don't add syrup. It would just take away from the waffle. They're flaky, golden brown deliciousness will make you sigh with contentment. Just don't ask how many calories are in it!

If you've never been, I highly suggest you leave your computer, head to Findlay Market and be transported to food heaven!

Not bad. Had it for the first time at Bockfest. WAY OVERPRICED. Did they import these things from Belgium. Geez. 12 Bucks for 3 small waffles. I mean, I'm not knocking the quality or anything. They are fairly good waffles. But that was price gouging at its best.

I would have considered getting some crepes, but I know I would get a tastier and more affordable crepe at "It's Just Crepes" down on Court street.

Anytime I visit Findlay Market, I have to make a stop at the Taste of Belgium stand. I typically just get a waffle, which is one of the most delicious waffles you will ever have. I also really like their pizza and their crepes are top notch as well.

If you go to Findlay Market, treat yourself to Taste of Belgium.

Prior to visiting Cincinnati, I had never paused to consider that what I called "belgian" waffles, were in fact mere imposters.  Sure, they're crispy and not too shabby with the right accoutrements, but they are but shadows of their ancestral glory.

Then there's what I had at Taste of Belgium. I went here on a lark after searching for "brunch" or some such thing on Yelp while in town.  Let me assure you, these purportedly authentic Belgian Waffles (brought to you courtesy of Jean-François Flechet from the city of Liège in Belgium) are outrageously good.  They stand alone as delicious, sweet, crispy-yet-appropriately-dense creations, and the moment the first bite entered my mouth I KNEW that it was right, and that every waffle experience prior to this had been a shameful lie.  My Waffle (with a capital "W") was accompanied by strawberries and whipped cream, but the Waffle would have been phenomenal all by its lonesome.

Why only 4 stars, then?  Atmosphere.  It's not that I didn't appreciate Findley Market for what it was, but Taste of Belgium needs it's own space, room to flex it's Waffle (and crêpe) muscles!

Also, since I don't live in Cincinnati and haven't yet bothered to learn to make these myself, Taste of Belgium has ruined my life.  Now, whenever I have a "belgian" waffle or even see a belgian waffle dish on a menu, I get a little sad, a little choked up as I reflect on how glorious the dish in question *could* be. If only...

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! Seriously. This is an absolute must stop if you are ever near or in the market.

My friends and I have a tradition--they come into town on Friday night and then we get up Saturday and head to the market to buy food to prepare a huge meal that night for all of our friends. But before we shop WE EAT! And we eat waffelz. That's right--waffelz with a z. That's how good Taste of Belgium is.

Not only is it in the heart of Findlay Market, my pretty much favorite place in Cincinnati, but even though it's always swamped the crew is always friendly, service is fast and the waffelz (zzzzzz) are AMAZING! I like to get mine with fresh fruit and whipped cream, where my husband usually ops for chocolate. You really can't go wrong! Also, if you aren't a sweets fan in the morning, their crepes are pretty good too, but nothing compares to those waffelz!

Also, you can buy a pack to go and they heat up pretty well. It's a little pricey for waffles and you have to fight for a place to sit inside or hope the weather is cooperating, but they are worth the lines, pennies and learning to eat while standing.

Or you can do what I do, and pop in for lunch and a mid-week snack!

Whatever you are doing, stop right now! Get up, leave your computer, get in your car, drive to Findlay Market and eat at Taste of Belgium. Seriously, you can read the rest of this later!

I really don't need to go on about how glorious the food is, because there are already probably 40 reviews for this place, but when food is this amazing you just want to share it with everyone. I think I even called my family and woke them up in Arizona, to tell them where I will be taking them next time they are in town!!

We had originally both ordered crepes, one savory and one sweet to share. Then after I said how silly it was to not eat a waffle here, my new best friend, aka the crepe/waffle maker, cut up a waffle for us to sample. OH MY GOODNESS!!! It was soooo good, we immediately ordered one and I'm slightly embarrassed to say that we had it scarfed down before we even paid for order or finished ordering drinks! It is that kind of delicious!

Then the crepes came out. One was the traditional with meat and cheese and one wasn't on the menu, but my new best friend hooked us up with a strawberry and nutella chocolate crepe. I didn't realize till half way through that my crepe was leaking all over my shirt and I had chocolate smears all over my face, but I didn't care! We both just sat there passing back and forth the two crepes with deliriously silly, satisfied smiles on our faces as we just ate the best breakfast we've ever had.

I can not decided which is the best; the waffle, the sweet crepe, or the savory crepe, so I'm just going to have to keep on eating there week after week doing more research to figure out which one is the best!

I give a lot of high marks on my Yelp reviews. Mostly it's because I want to support the businesses that I appreciate - hence, a lot of 4s and 5s. I thought to myself, "Self, you need to start giving a few bad reviews, or no one's going to take you seriously. They're just going to think you're some Sally Sunshine who LOVES EVERYTHING!"

Then I went to review Taste of Belgium. And I couldn't even think of giving it less than five stars. If I could give six, I would.

I'd had Liege waffles at a place where I used to live in Eugene. These waffles were the talk of the town and I won't lie, they were good. But Taste of Belgium's waffles blow them out of the water. A friend and I went to Findlay to try these waffles I'd heard so much about and when we took our first bites, we stared at each other, wide-eyed. These were the Best. Waffles. Ever.

I admit that I've stuck close to the waffles and savory crepes and haven't really broadened my TOB horizons to sample their other fine foods. But that's because the savory crepe-and-waffle combo is so fantastic that it's hard to order anything else. THEN I found out there was a Yelp special for my favorite food pairing in Cincinnati and, well - let's just say I might need to buy some bigger pants.

If your looking for something hot, fresh and tasty to satisfy your sugar cravings, then look no further than Cincinnati's own Taste of Belgium located at the historic Findlay Market in Over the Rhine.

When we first got to Cincinnati we had heard a lot of buzz about Taste of Belgium but didn't have much extra money to really go out and explore. We've since gotten plugged into our community and found these guys popping up everywhere supporting local events. That was where I was able to try the waffle bits fresh off the irons.

The recipe comes from Liége, Belgium and are made using a thick dough and a course Belgian beet sugar. These warm sugary treats of joy always leave me wanting more. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, between meal snack, these waffles go with almost anything. And when one waffle isn't enough grab another.

I've sampled Belgium styled waffles over the years, mostly at larger chains growing up. I didn't know any better so I thought, "They can't be that great, right?" Well, I was wrong. I'd never experienced anything like this before. The fact that you can pack all that warm, yummy goodness without having to add syrup or whip cream or fresh fruit is awesome because you just grab one and go.

While they are a bit pricey for my pocket book, they are handmade in small batches so you get quality and consistency every time. That said I don't mind paying a little bit more as I love to support locally owned and operated shops as much as I can.

Thanks for bringing Liége to our area and making our world a tastier place. I look forward to enjoying more in the near future.

I'm updating, because I've now had about 170 waffles, and they have all been spectacular. When they are right out of the waffle iron thing--they transcend time and space. I'm hovering between 4-5 stars, because as far as waffles go--they are 5 stars--"as good as it gets". You seriously can't ever get a better waffle, period. But I can't give a perfect score because they are too expensive for me to have very often...and I still don't love the crepes. Maybe it's the buckwheat. It's probably that I'm not European enough, and I'm working on it. You can take the girl out of Alabama, but you can't take the Alabama out of the girl.

I recently discovered that they have pizza too...and for $3 (ish--I can't remember exactly) it makes a great lunch, and it's something my pocketbook can be proud of. I'm not saying it's nutritious, I'm just saying on a cold day, a large slice of melted cheese on bread (sometime accompanied by a few pepperoni) hits the spot. They have cookies too and who knows what they will bust out with next!

One more comment: I really love this place because they are really committed to my community. Not only are they at Findlay Market (bonus points), I see them at so many events, handing out waffles, being a part of different community endeavors--and I love that.

So much, in fact, that I might give the crepes another shot. And I'll definitely have another waffle!

I've been going to Findlay Market a lot this summer- something I have been trying to do for a while! I have to admit that I bribe myself with crepes from Taste of Belgium because I do like a good sleep in on the weekend. Anyway, this Saturday my mom and I were on a mission for some bread and zucchini- and I had my heart set on a crepe. It was totally worth the early wake up and the parking lot traffic jam!
I got the original crepe (with ham and gruyere cheese). It was delicious! The outside was crunchy from the egg and the middle was melted just perfectly! It was the perfect morning to sit outside, people watch and enjoy some delicious breakfast!  It also helps that they are always friendly and quick with your order even though there is always a line. (we got some waffles to go for my dad and he was a happy camper Sunday morning!)

I've never been to Belgium. Actually, I only have a vague idea where Belgium is on the map (*somewhere over here...ish*). However, if the country of Belgium tastes like Taste of Belgium says it tastes like, then it is a land of delicious wonders. A land of pure happiness. A land I want to go to.

Biting into a Taste of Belgium belgium waffle makes everything a little bit better. The waffles are big and flaky and golden brown delicious. They are topped with whatever you want: fruit, sweets, syrup. Amazing.

They also make crepes. I wouldn't know about that though, I can't resist the call of their waffle.

Their food is a little bit more expensive than you might normally pay for a waffle, but you get what you pay for, and here, you pay for the taste of Belgium. I mean, it is a really big country.

I wish they had more stands than just in Findlay Market, since, as I've complained about before, Findlay Market is never open when I want it to be open. However, if they were open more often, I'd be a lot fatter than I am right now.

    Happier, but fatter.

I am pretty sure these tasty treats are not particularly good for growing cavities, but I JUST CANT HELP MYSELF!!!  Don't know what I am gaga-ing about?  The waffles, yes, waffles.  You quite possibly have never tasted something so decadently wonderful and yet so simple.  I admittedly snag one quickly on my weekly grocery trip to Findlay Market.

If you have time to sit and snack though, I highly recommend spicing up your sweet new tid bit with berries and whip cream - or chocolate fudge or snagging some coffee gelato from Dojo down the hall, oh dear, I could gush forever!  These are amazing.  Waffles not your thing though (although, beware, these are no ordinary waffle), Taste of Belgium is now equipped with fresh homemade slices of pizza heaven and crepes made to order.  Around the bend are some more bundles of french sweetness - chocolates, eclairs, pastries - OH MY!

Right at the center entrance of the main Findlay Market building, if the smell doesn't get you, then the waffle sample will!

If this is what Belgium tastes like, then book me on the next flight out there! Man oh man, these waffles are the stuff dreams are made of. Dense plus sugary plus buttery equals MMMM. You can get them topped with fruit if it will make you feel better, but don't kid yourself. You're getting pure, unadulterated doughy goodness here.

While I sampled bits of waffle, I actually ordered a savory crepe with goat cheese and veggies, which was certainly pretty delicious in its own right! I believe it was a wholegrain or buckwheat batter, which gave it a distinct texture and "healthy" flavor, which for me is a plus. They also offer sweet crepes like banana and nutella.

When the friendly counter guy hands you your crepe, its wrapped in a portable paper cone, so you can snack while walking and proudly show off where your goods are from. C'est magnifique!

So yummy!  An almost unbelievable mix of yummy, gooey, sweet, caramelized, rich goodness.  Love 'em!

I haven't tried the crepes yet (because I'm too busy eating waffles) but hope to try them soon!

I have also found these around some stores in the Cincinnati area.  I definitely recommend them fresh from the waffle iron, but they will do if I can't make it to the Market.
