  I've long been a follower of Texas Hold'em BBQ since the days when they were located back at 21 SW 7th Street. They later moved to a new location on Federal across from the Gateway, but have now moved again to their present location of 2528 N. Federal.
  
  I stopped by when they first opened and it was a delight to see Jay with his big old cooker out back. There's nothing like seeing the big barbecue smoker in action, smelling the smoke filled air and catching a glimpse of the meats as they cook.
  
  I tried the ribs and was delighted to find them back to the original taste and texture they had at the original location on SW 7th. They had a full natural smoke flavor and though with a certain dry texture about them, I found them tasty as well as satisfying; certainly more authentic than those coming from an electric cooker.
  
  Though some may differ with my thought, I feel that this new location, though considered by many as a tear down of a shack, ideally suited for the likes of a home style barbecue  It's a waterfront location and as such has a more home spun or backyard barbecue feel about it.
  
  What pleased me most when I stopped by was to see Jay with his huge old fashioned outdoor barbecue cooker, the air filled with smoke, doing the BBQ the old time way he had originally done them.
  
  The BBQ served here is the real thing which will appeal, not necessarily to everyone, but certainly to those who have a taste for the authentic.

  I was feining for some bbq after leaving the gym. I placed a to-go order. Rita, at the bar took my order. She was friendly. They were out of the loaded potatos skins with the bbq beef. Ribs were good and tasty. Fries were good. Collard greens were also good. Definitely will be coming back for another  meal.

  Had baby back ribs this evening with my wife and son.  Ribs were great.  Beans,collard greens and cole slaw outstanding.  Place was very clean.

  Being Memorial day I need to get my BBQ fix.  
  
  I pulled into this location and could see smoke coming up from the back of the building and could smell BBQ so I knew it was a good sign.
  
  They have there own parking so its easy to  find a spot.
  
  You walk in and can either sit at the tables or the bar.  I chose to sit at the bar.  I was quickly greeted with a friendly smile.   Asked what the was good and was told everything.  Wish I could have given "everything" a try cause she probably  was not lying.
  
  I went for the Brisket and ribs combo with a side of baked beans and potato salad.  Let me tell you it was great.  The brisket was good I have to recommend you get that.  The ribs came out sauce less and the bones were really big so it made them hard to eat,  But when you added their sauce they were good.
  
  If you are in the area give this place a shot,  When leaving its easier to go out the back but the grill is there so roll up your window unless you want to take more BBQ home with you.
  
  I will be back soon.  Hard to find good BBQ!
