I went there for the first time this evening about 6:00. Â The place was very busy. Â I was duly pleased because I was not forced to endure yet another meal from Chipotle.
I thought that the atmosphere was bright, cheerful and clean. Â The service was quick, courteous and accurate. Â I have to admit that I was duly impressed by the technology that they use to locate patrons once they are seated and the food is ready. Â Also, the "call" button, which I did not try, was a neat option.
I ordered a primavera burger and some sweet potato fries. Â The burger was fine, but it had a gamey taste, somewhat of a turn off. Â The toppings of pesto, spinach, sun dried tomatoes, avocados and caramelized onions were were thin, but OK. Â My current burger standard is that of what I get as a bacon cheeseburger at The Patio. Â The flavor and texture of the beef was not up to par.
The sweet potato fries were delicious. Â I kept on thinking that the flavor reminded me of something one might find at a food trailer at a carnival midway. It was a perfect combination of deep fried carbohydrates.
I am tempted to come back to try one of their chocolate shakes, which seemed to be a very popular item.
The shelving where all the bottles of condiments are kept is a neat take on distributing such items.
The men's bathroom is rather tiny for the size of the establishment and I am somewhat surprised that Naperville code allowed it.
I might go back again and try a salad or another type of main course. Â The prices are a bit high, but then again, they're not serving McDonald's Big Macs.
$10 for a fantastic turkey purger with ketchup and grilled pineapple and amazing sweet potatoe fries and a diet root beer. Â I ate at the Tom and Eddie's in Lombard around Christmas and thought the food was excellent. Â I was in Naperville today and again, the food is terrific. Â The fries--not greasy, not overly salted, and so they taste like sweet potatoes..loved them. Â My burger was moist (how did they manage that with turkey, i wish i knew), and the grilled pineapple were very tasty. I like that the food seems fresh and real versus oversalted and overbuttered/oiled or whatever. Â Did not feel like i was eating "fast food" even though, i know I was..lol. Â The restaurant was clean and so was the restroom.
Review Source:Oh man. My fellow Yelpers are so, so wrong about this place. Five stars all the way.
I'm a vegetarian... so full disclosure there. But, it takes one heck of a good thing to impress me at a burger joint, so hear me out.
This place is the 5th in the chain of restaurants, all started by the former CEO of McDonald's. There's a lot of research and science behind that restaurant, so the guy obviously knows his stuff.
We ordered the edamame burger, Town & Country burger, and an order of large sweet potato fries. Our order came to nearly $20, if I remember correct. Now listen. We can each dust off (albeit very full) a Chipotle burrito each, so to say I was full is accurate here. The edamame burger probably gets an 8/10 on my scale, and that's saying a TON. It could've used slightly more seasoning, but otherwise was amazing.
There are 6 craft/local beers on draft and they DID have a liquor license when we arrived on 2/18, so don't let that deter you from trying things out!
No less than 5 people engaged with us during our visit and we were just so pleased overall with the layout, food options, flavors, and service. We're even making plans to go back this weekend with family who will be in town for a visit.
Nice touches:
Umbrellas at the door to borrow in inclement weather, high chairs on wheels, balloons for kids, Toy corner with books and abacus' for kids to play with during the SHORT wait (depending on how busy-- we went on Monday night and it was about 1/2 full). They don't allow tips and actually told me that the $ I left on the table for our busser would have to be donated to a local charity because, as said by the manager, "Good service should be expected no matter what." They bring your food to the table and bus the table for you.
Cheaper and closer than our usual go-to for burgers, Red Robin. This will be an, at least, monthly dinner spot for our family. With small kids, it can't be beat to get quality food at a decent price for our whole family.
Took the two little ladies here last night, and I was mildly impressed:
I was impressed with the creative menu. Â To me, concocting a tasty assemblage of divergent ingredients ranks up there, in terms of vision and boldness, with the first dude that smoked tobacco. Â How the hell could you ever imagine that inhaling the smoke of a dried out plant would be so pleasurable (no, I don't smoke)? Â And how do you even think to combine some of these burger ingredients. Â As I said, to me, impressive....
My wife went with the edamame burger and was very pleased.
I went with the Q burger, which is a chicken burger with smoked gouda, onion straws, and some other stuff, and I was equally pleased. Â I also had some sweet potato fries and they were damned good. And, since I'm a Bon Vivant, I tried the Brewer's Vivant scotch ale, and it was outstanding. Â My daughter went with the grilled cheese. Â I tasted it, and it was a solid 7 on a 10 point scale. Â
I was not so impressed with the portion sizes. Â The burger is fairly diminutive, and I left the place hungry. Â The service was on the slow side, and the cashier/manager was, to borrow a phrase from Jack Nicholson when he was describing Nurse Ratched in "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest," somethin' of a c**t."
Thank You. Thank You Very Much.....
We went last night to try it out. I was in the mood for a burger and beer and knew this place had just opened. The food is great at reasonable prices. You order up front and they deliver your food to your table. I had a burger and my wife a chicken sandwich. We each got the combo which included fries, onion straws etc., and a drink and total tab was around $20. Here is my problem, if you just opened and do not have your liquor license yet, don't advertise beer on the windows and don't show beer and wine on the sample menu by the door. Only when I was ordering was I informed they could not sell it yet, which was a little too late. As I said I was in the mood for a burger and beer, there are at least 10 place within 5 minutes of here I could have done that. A simple notice at the door would have told me to come back when they get their approval. That is why to 2 stars, because the food and service certainly rated better, but I like full disclosure.
