They wouldn't honor the coupon off of their corporate website at this location. 2 medium 3 topping pizzas delivered for $21 isn't a terrible price and delivery was fast but those are really the only good things about the experience. The pizza wasn't hot, it was room temp and chewy. Toppings were skimpy and burnt. There are better options in the area so I probably won't be ordering from them again.
Review Source:I'm on a mission to try all the food places around UC, and Toppers is the third pizza place I've been to, and the best so far. It's not gourmet, and it doesn't pretend to be. It's just delicious, fairly cheap pizza. I had the potato topper (minus green onions -- no thanks) and the baconstix with nacho cheese dipping sauce. I ate myself into a food coma and was very happy with my choices. I'd probably order extra cheese on the potato pizza next time, because I feel it could've used a little bit more, but other than that, no complaints from me.
Review Source:I'm waving the BS flag on anyone who's given this 4 stars or above. Â This pizza is crap. Â Quite frankly, the cheapest grocery store pizza is better than this. Â The ONLY reasons it got 2 stars instead of one is that it was hot and the delivery guy was nice.
I ordered a 12" Old School Pepperoni, Baconstix and a 20oz rootbeer, delivered, for a total of $20.16. Â Expensive for pizza but I'd accept it for a good meal. Â The pizza was seriously aweful...little tiny burned pieced of pepperoni and pretty sparse on the sausage. Â The Baconstix had absolutely no flavor at all. Â
With as many places around to order pizza, do yourself a favor and skip Toppers.
This place opened up a couple years ago and I remember how hyped everyone was about it. I think this was in large part due to a deal they had where you could get a large pizza and a triple order of TopperStix(basically breadsticks arranged in the size of a pizza with a topping on them). That was a great deal but as far as I know, it's gone up.
The Topperstix are quite delicious, and whenever anyone gets them, I go into mooch-mode and "borrow" a few. The pizza is good, but nothing special, and the whole thing would be better if the prizes were still as low as they once were.
Overall, it's a good, above average pizza place.
I actually enjoyed this pizza - both thin and regular crust - a lot.
Online ordering is always a plus. I hate the phone, but I couldn't online order here. The guy was really awkward to talk to and I really thought there was no way my pizza would be correct as he seemed confused about life in general.
When we got there, the pizza was hot, correct, and ready for us. We took it home. We ordered topperstix, a thin crust pizza with black olives, a potato topper, and the mac n cheese pizzas (these were different days, but both experiences in store were the same, so I will talk like they are the same.)
The thin crust pizza was good - not my favorite but definitely up there. Way better than other national chains for sure. Black olives tasted good, and that was good right away.
The topperstix are delicious - they are really really cheesy. They must be terrible for you, but boy do they hit the spot.
The potato topper and mac n cheese pizza were the stars here - the crust was fluffy, thick and delicious, and the toppings were oh-so-good. This is food for a bad day when you really just wanna eat. Bah.
This is a good pizza place - it's not AMAZING, but it's damn good.
Quick and consistent is a good way to describe Toppers. It's not the best pizza in town but I haven't been disappointed in any of the food I have ordered either. Best way I would describe it is it's a slightly better version of Papa John's. They also have a lot more variety than a typical chain pizza restaurant, lots of specialty pies.
Review Source:I just had Toppers pizza for the third time. Is the best pizza I have ever had? Is it gourmet? Authentic? Nope, but it is quick (never more than 15-20 minutes for our carry out), pretty consistent, and the pizza possibilities are immense.
About those selections-- they really are pretty impressive. They have 5 sizes of pie (from a personal to a party size), three crust styles (thin, hand-tossed & thick), and over 35 toppings to pick from. They also have a pretty good selection of specialty pizzas. The variety makes it pretty easy to find something that everyone likes, and if you bore easily, it also means you can experiment with new combinations.
So far, we've had a couple specialty pizzas, including the "Mac N Cheese" that my kids loved and the "Old School Sausage & Pepperoni" that has become a favorite of my husband and I. I can't attest to the kids' pie, but I really enjoyed the spice in the "Old School" sausage and the chunks of Roma tomatoes on ours. We've also had the Original Topperstix, their version of a cheesy breadstick, which have noticeable garlic flavor and are loaded with bubbly cheese. In true Toppers fashion, they even have 10 different dipping sauces for you to dunk them in!
This weekend, we had family in town, so we ordered a few custom pies to accommodate all taste buds. My dad raved about his pizza, which was loaded with standard veggies like onions, peppers, and black olives, along with a porky trio of ham, sausage, and pepperoni. Just visually, it did look pretty good.
My husband and I didn't fair quite as well this time. We got a pretty standard pepperoni and cheese pie, with the "regular" pepperoni (they have three varieties to pick from). Unlike the "Old School Pepperoni" we had tried before, these ones were a bit like biting into chewy, warm plastic. They even kind of stuck to your teeth. Pretty gross. Lesson learned, and we'll stick to the "Old School" option from now on.
The Toppers menu also has a range of other things-- quesadillas, grinders, and wings. I am looking forward to trying some of the rest of the menu.
I love Toppers Pizza! Â You've gotta try the Old School Sausage and Pepperoni Za!! Â It has sundried tomatoes, sausage, pepperoni, mozarella...........yummmmmmmy!!! Â Crust the bomb, sauce the bomb!! Â And I had a chicken & ham sub...toasty, tasty and fresh!! Â Good job Toppers!! Â You're the TOPS!
Review Source:I gave this place another chance. I had more coupons to use, and despite the first time's mishap with getting the wrong order to us, I figured if we wanted some pizza we could always try Toppers again!
This time they got our order right, but when the delivery guy came, he called me at the bottom of our 15 or so stairs outside my building. It's a lazy night for me, so I'm in loungewear and no shoes. I'm thinking, "Does this guy really want me to find shoes and meet him at the bottom of my stairs? You've got to be kidding me!" The first time we got delivery, the delivery guy did what we all expect - come to the door, knock, and hand us our food. I actually had to tell the guy on this particular night, "Um, can you come to our front door?" I held the door open for him, he stood in the doorway to the lobby of our building, and I went to my apartment to get money (expecting he'd follow me, but I guess I was wrong there, too).
The food was good. Delivery was at a reasonable time. But this delivery guy was by far the strangest I've experienced. Maybe it's just me... but after paying a delivery fee I usually expect to not have to walk outside to fetch my food, especially if the deliverer wants a tip.
