Ok, nothing really separates this place from the countless other pool halls on Lawrence, they don't serve beer, have tons of pool tables and cater to a mainly foreign speaking clientele - Â except for one thing. Â
They have a 20 ft sign that is misspelled! Â I live right across from this place and every time I go outside I get to see the lovely Uno Billiad (Billiad not BillaRds) sign swinging in the breeze. Â That's right, they spent money on a 20 ft electric sign that is misspelled. Â The best part about it though is that the painted sign on the front of the building is spelled correctly. Â So not only did they pay for a sign with incorrect spelling, but they knew it was wrong when they were installing it.
"So that sign looks great, yeah how much is the bill, oh that's no problem and to tell you the truth I really don't care that it is misspelled, no one will notice."
I would give them one star for this but I don't know the owners so they may have issues and I would give them three stars since they are just your average pool hall like I said, but seeing this symbol of ignorance everyday just drives me bonkers. Â Especially when they have the painted sign and three neon signs in the windows that are all spelled correctly.
Oh Uno Billiads, and I don't mean Billiards! Â :P
