Really like this place, they do the sports bar thing kicked up a good big notch. The Ahi Tuna biggy burgah will prompt you to smile - I just tried the haddock fish sangwich and only finished half - it's huge and has a kick to it. The rest went home with me along with its cousins the sweet potater fries. Their caesar salad is large and in charge  and has the right stuff re: the dressing is moist and delicioso - always ask for extra dressing, you'll be glad - waitresses have always been propmt and attentive and smiling. Lots of sports to take a gander at and the music is funky good too. And the beer list is pretty primo, including the Vito's house brew, too.

My boyfriend and I live down the street from Vito's and we stop in here often when we want a few beers or some affordable food. The food is fairly typical bar food (wings, nachos, burgers) with some interesting additions (selection of tacos); the food won't win any awards, but it's yummy and well-priced. What we really come to Vito's for is the outstanding staff. We love our favorite waitress Elise, and everyone else there has been nothing but wonderful. This is the only restaurant I've ever visited where I routinely see the manager (Luca) seating customers, delivering drinks and cleaning tables. It's so refreshing to see a manager pitch in and really be a part of the team. He asked us to switch tables once and bought us a round of drinks for the inconvenience...totally unnecessary but great customer service nonetheless! This is the main reason we come to Vito's. And the $5 Peroni beers, of course.

We are big fans of Carmelina's so we decided to try out their other restaurant. Vito's is more casual. I ordered a Bloody Mary and the Dom burger. Both were the BEST!! I will definitely be back, can't wait to try other menu items :)
Our waitress checked on us a number of times too.

I like the atmosphere of Vito's Tavern. We went here after eating at Neptune Oyster and ordered a Scorpion Bowl to share with four people. They didn't have the bowl you're suppose to use for it (which was odd) but they asked if using a pitcher would be fine. A drink's a drink :D

Scorpion Bowl - Refreshing and strong!

Chips, salsa, and guacamole - Good to munch on while we drank.

Laid back bar with lots of TVS and good background music to listen to. Not too loud so you're able to hear your friends when they're talking.

Beers are over-priced considering all the cheaper options across the street in Fanuel Hall and the food is just decent.  The wings are great but they are the only things that I can recall even enjoying.  The burgers are ok if the waitstaff gets you the right one.  I've ordered three different burgers here and not once did I get the proper one when it was delivered.

The food here is actually pretty good.  My boyfriend loves the wings, i love the burgers and the tacos.  The nachos are bomb.  But the service is god awful.  I come here alot cause i live right around the corner, but the servers are so inattentive and slow its ridiculous. Happens every time I come, they take forever to take your order, to deal with the check, to get a drink refil, EVERYTHING.  I think the servers are very nice, but the problem is there aren't enough of them.  If you go, sit at the bar so you can be sure to get attention.

Service continues to disappoint. Went in before a game, hoping to grab food and drinks. Told the waitress up front that we wanted to be out in about an hour to catch the game.  It was like talking to a brick wall. its almost like the whole staff lacks any sort of situational awareness. They all just kind of stand around at the end of the bar.

Beer took almost 30 minutes (while I watched the bar tender stand there)  and wings 45. We were just about to walk out.  Whats worse was the none of the staff really seemed to have any idea about what was going on. It's a shame because the food is good, although a little overpriced.

I came here and ordered the chicken parm fingers... These things are great and come with a really tasty marinara dipping sauce. the wings are solid as well- good quality.
Staff are attentive and pleasant- I'd watch a a game here but hope that they have the volume on the tvs (instead of music playing) when a game is on.

Say hello to the only authentic sports bar in the North End. This cute bar has awesome sports-themed decor, many televisions, and delicious game grub to satisfy anyone looking to watch a game. The bar boasts a big crowd during any Boston game and they frequently offer specials to entice the crowd. Try their kimchi quesadillas - they're uniquely delicious - the spicy fish tacos, or one of their massive burgers.

This is another restaurant I came to eat at after seeing it air on the Phantom. From watching it on TV, it looked amazing. First of all, the portions, they look great. Second, it's a pub in the North End, how creative is that. And after all, this is my type of food.
I usually don't talk about service, but Vito's service is at most okay. I had to wait a couple of minutes to find out we can seat our selves. The food no doubt for me is 4 stars. I got the korean style wings and korean style tacos which were great. The downside is the prices. It's a little too expensive for pub food. I would give Vito's Tavern 4 stars, but because of the expensive prices, it's 3 stars.

I frequently have been to Vito's Tavern on Sundays to watch the 1pm football games. The place has several TV's to watch any of the games on the main broadcasting stations. Downside, they do not have NFL Sunday ticket, hopefully will get it next year. The food is really good. We have had the wings, sandwiches, burgers, chicken milanese salad. All of their food is way better than any pub food. The wait staff is also very friendly. We had a waitress, Anneika (spelling) and she was really outgoing, down to earth, helped with questions on selection of food and also didn't rush us, overall great experience.

Definitely recommend Vito's to anyone looking for a lunch, watching a game or wanting some beers, pretty good selection on tap. We'll be back again!

Having spent a lot of time in the North End between 2008 and 2009, I always have a little nostaligia come out when visiting there. There are many great restuarants and bakeries and shops to check out. You can find your veal or scampi and canoli anywhere,  but where can you find a burger or wings in the North End?

Vito's Tavern is now that place. I had no idea that it was a sports bar before I entered. I was out on a date with this chic who lives in the North End just down on Salem St, and for a nightcap we went to Vito's.  I was expecting this place to be a bar where you would order a glass of red wine and watch rugby. Wasn't expecting to find american beer and wings and pub grub.

We had left the Black Rose and Ned Devine's and came here to end the night. Granted once she told me she lived a few blocks down I was thinking other things about how the night would end... she had hardcore Mexican accent that drove me crazy.  We had a tough time understanding each other at times. But let's talk about Vito's Tavern.

The bar has a great selection of beers and cocktails. I really cannot remember which cocktails I ordered, this is going back a month,  maybe two? I was already quiet buzzed and full from drinking Guiness. She pounded down a few cocktails which were very exotic, I had a few Sam Seasonals and then a few cocktails with stoli o and one with grape vodka. They were strong and very good.

We didn't order food, but every other table had dishes in front of them.  The burgers looked hearty and delicious and the wings looked very respectable. Next time I am in the area I will be sure to try them out.

The ambiance is pretty cool. It's dark and cozy and they have a lot of tvs and a good size bar and lounge area.   It can get a little tight in there at night on weekends and I'm sure Sunday for football they get a crowd. But it's a great alternative to other establishments in the North End and even Fanuel Hall.  I'll definitly be back for sure.

Good beer selection and service. I didn't try any food so I can't comment on that. Decent place if you're in the area, but it doesn't seem like somewhere I'd travel to.

Well, what can I say about a sports bar trying to make its way into the North End? Good Effort! I've come here numerous times and the food always leaves something to be desired. Vito's tries to give you a variety (mac'n'cheese, Korean tacos, burgers, nachos, jalapeño poppers) but it's always cominb up short of "good pub food"...because really, that's all I've been waiting for in the North End. That being said, the wings are pretty delicious. I've tried a few types and they are perfectly seasoned and the sauces are flavorful. I give them two thumbs up for the wings.

The beer "list" wasn't much of a list as they didn't even have Budweiser or Bud Light.  I know I may be the only female Bud Heavy drinker but bud light is pretty standard. So, it seems they kept with the Italian/North End tradition on that end BUT they have PBR cans. Two stars are pretty much solely for the PBR cans.

Walls are decorated with Boston sports memorabilia and they often have any game on that I want to watch. I think I've heard that they are expanding the beer list, so with that and maybe a little TLC on the food, they would have a great sports bar spot in the North End.

FINALLY!!!!  A place that makes chicken wings in the North End, AND they are amazing!  They have  many different wing options and they are all delicious.
I love the variety of options on this menu, you can order anything from Korean style tacos, to mac n cheese.  The burgers and fries are delicious,  Vitos is a breath of fresh air in this neighborhood.  The atmosphere is casual, good for a low key date night or group of friends.  It has fun Boston decor lining the wall, TVs to watch the game, and a nice set up of booths and high tops.

Really a step up from your typical bar.  I've been here a handful of times and have always enjoyed the food - which is a little outside of the box and usually quality - and the nice atmosphere.  It is clean and warmly outfitted inside, with a nice bar and TVs.  I enjoy their specials.  A particular favorite of my posse is "Crazy Dog Monday."  There are 6 different hot dog preparations to choose from and they are surprisingly large and tasty.  My favorite so far is the Neapolitan.  Best part is they are only $3.  Go with someone else and get 3 dogs between you and you are set.  Along with this special they typically do $3 PBR tallboys - not bad!

Vito's is a great idea that seems to fall short on execution. The burgers are a great idea as there are no real burger joints in the north end but the past two times I have gone here they were overcooked. The burgers are very big and one would think that would help them from being overcooked. I could understand if the place was packed and my burger simply sat on the grill too long, but the place was relatively empty for lunch. (8-10 people)

The wings are a different story. They are very good and I would recommend them. I also have to agree with the other yelper's that the service is sub par. While I have always had someone help me with drinks and food, but sometimes they were either too casual or took too long.

I think with a new staff this could really thrive, but until then it looks like over cooked burgers and poor service.

The atmosphere is comfortable; it's not too crowded, nor too noisy, nor too dark or too bright. The omnipresent flat screen TVs give the crowd what it wants, whether that be the Red Sox, Olympics, or a forensic science program.

The menu is heavy on the savory foods (no dessert, which is no big deal since there is a fantastic cupcake shop just across the street & a late night bakery down the road) and the beer selection is great if you like a certain kind of beer (*cough* hefeweizen & the like *cough*).

    Service is efficient & friendly.

I'll start by saying that Vito's has Dos Equis lager on draft. It's not that easy to find in this city! This alone earns a star from me.

As a local, Vito's is a great alternative to Italian food in the North End. I've been here on weeknights and weekends, and it's pretty consistent all the way around. We've watched some Bruins and Celtics games here, and have had good experiences. I'm also a fan of the sports art that covers the walls. It's really cool without going overboard. It's nice to have a clean bar nearby (not like it's gross next door neighbor.. here's looking at you Goody's).

The service here is never great, but it's never too bad either. My only real complaint about the service is getting served warm water that tasted like bath water. Gross. This was during the recent heat wave. Have some sympathy... at least put some ice in the water!

The food is actually pretty decent. The menu offers up some different options than the area's usual fare: fish tacos, lettuce wraps, grilled cheese, rice bowls. There's an eclectic menu, but there's also the obligatory pub food. They have some good daily specials. But seriously, what's up with not having ranch dressing? Something needs to be done about this immediately if you're going to continue to serve wings!

Oh, and in case you forgot... they have Dos Equis lager on draft. :)

As a North End resident, I get sick of Italian food from time to time. It is nice to have a sports bar, with good pub food. I love that they have Tuesday Taco Night, half priced tacos and $5 Margaritas!

My reason for 3 stars instead of 4... I got the fish tacos which were great but the sauce was way too spicy! I was gulping down water faster than they could pour it.

Which brings me to my next issue, we waited for a while for the waitress to ask us for our order. Again, only two waitresses at 7 pm.

No worries, I will be back for a second try!

I said hello and sat down at a high top. The wait staff walked around me and did not make eye contact. I waited 5 minutes as three of the staff walk past. No Hi or I'll be right with you. I wasn't about to put up with this so I left.

    Just wanted you to know.

No ranch? wait, hold on, no ranch with the buffalo wings? Nah uh, that can't happen. Seriously? NOOOOOOOOO.

The Spain-France game was going on, it was super packed. So packed that I kept kicking the foot the guy at the next table. The lady working there, with the Celtics shirt, was so nice and fast; she filled up my H2O at least 7-8 times.

The Buffalo Wings - $10 for 10 pieces, nowhere near those disgustingly breaded wings from one of those chain pizzerias. Man, how come they didn't ranch? That's the sauce that cuts a little of the acidity and the spiciness while sealing the flavours. Oh yes, the wings were packed with heat, hence the 7-8 cups of aqua.
The veggies came with it tasted like brine solution, yuck.

Fries - $5 for a great amount of shoe string fries. Overly-sprinkled with Kosher salt, the fries were piping hot, but too salty. After removing some salt granules we finished the whole thing, trying to get rid of the spicy pain.

Recommend coming here during the weekdays (Mon-Thurs) if you really wanna try this place out since they run specials on those nights. Meh, I will come back to try the other wing flavours when they decide to get some Holy Dressing in the house.

Just wanted to catch the Spain-France game, which happened to be a snooze-fest. So excuse my opinion if there is some subliminal bias.

Tons and tons of TVs everywhere making it a great atmosphere to watch the game. It got really cramped, but that's not a bad thing if you're looking for a place with a cool atmosphere.

The food is meh. Wasn't too interested in most of their menu, sounds like a fusion place, and I'm not against fusion, it just didn't sound too great. Thought I would stick to something that is hard to mess up, buffalo wings, 10 for $10. They weren't that bad, in fact, I thought they were pretty good, but the biggest problem is that they don't have ranch. Seriously? That's all I'm going to say. Please let me know if you guys plan to have ranch for your wings, then, and only then will I come back.

Since we weren't about to just sit there with 10 wings we decided to grab some fries too ($5). Let me try to explain it in a way everyone can understand. McDonalds + too much sea salt.

Maybe, MAYBE, next time. Actually, no, too many other places to try.

This is a great casual place to go for drinks. I love it!

Rather than ordering a beer or some "fancy" sparkling drink, I suggest going right in for the kill: the shooters. I tried The Winter Wonderland and wow. The combo of creme de menthe, vanilla vodka, and Godiva white was perfect. Creamy minty goodness!

The Golden Pear Sparkler sounds like a great drink (Prosecco, fresh OJ, belle de something sounds good but eh, I would pass. Nothing special.

    Take some shots!

    Love Vitos.

Food is great. I think they have some of the best wings around. The grill cheese is the best I've ever had (never thought I would say that about a GC). The burgers, fish tacos, and korean tacos are also on the top of my list. The food is solid all the way around.

Service can sometimes be a bit slow, but your at a Tavern not Lucca on Hanover.

They also have food/drink deals every week night.

The first time I went I must have had too much to drink prior to arriving because when I woke up the next day I couldn't understand all the bad reviews.   THEN I went back stone cold sober and it ALL made sense.

Service was SLOOOOOW!  Order was wrong & when we asked the waitress about it she argued with us - my friend ordered a chicken taco and ended up with a beef burritto, there is really nothing to argue about those are not the same.   After this the waitress became friendlier and actually attentive (guess she didn't want to see her whole tip walking out the door).

Either way the situation was redeemed, the burrito was fine, my chopped salad was great & the waitress made the situation right.  It just shouldn't have happened in the first place.  I feel bad giving a 2 star since she did fix the situation but "meh, I've experienced better" is more accurate than "A-OK".

Vito's is my new favorite neighborhood spot in the North End. You can roll in in sweatpants. You can come in for dinner decked out before a night out in Boston. Whatever... as long as you like good drinks and food, you'll fit right in.

Favorite drink: winter margarita (perfectly warm and spicy, not sweet).

Favorite food: Chopped salad with (with chicken). It's freaking HUGE and packed with a unique blend of veggies like green beans, almonds, tomatoes, goat cheese, and sesame dressing. Fifth flavor burger. Any and all tacos.

Awesome service, super fun music, specials every night. Do yourself a favor and become a regular!

Pleasantly surprised!! Went in with some apprehension after seeing mexican, korean, and italian all on one menu...but our meal was great!!

They have a great twist on Capital Grill's Stoli Doli--pineapple infused vodka with a splash of juice. I loved it. We had some excellent wings. These were the highlight of the night. Crispy, lots of meat, and a peppery buffalo sauce. They were awesome!

I got the korean tacos and they had a great sweet but sour/tangy flavor. Will be back!

As one of the only non Italian restaurants in the North End, this place has become a go-to when we are not in the mood for pasta. The atmosphere is nice, our service has always been good, and there are loads of televisions to watch games while you eat.

The menu contains a huge variety of foods, including chicken wings, nachos, tacos, meat, seafood, pasta, burritos, and burgers. The vegetarian nachos come as a heaping serving of chips covered in cheese sauce, sauteed veggies, and the traditional toppings- they are delicious. I have also tried the kimchi quesadilla- something different, but super tasty. The fried fish tacos are also a great choice, as are the burgers. The burgers are served with a choice of regular fries, sweet potato fries, or my favorite, the truffle salted fries.

I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area and not in the mood for Italian food, or if you're looking for a place to grab a drink in the evenings, as they have a full bar as well.

This a great place to grab a couple beers and a snack-but just a warning, the snack will be huge!  I forgot how large the portions are in the North End! I was surprised by the menu and I actually ended up getting the Fish Tacos, which I wouldn't have expected to like in the North End but they were great!  Also I was starving and could only eat 2 out of the 3 tacos.

I've been here a few times after work and I'm sure i'll be coming back a lot more!

I have no idea how the food is here. I tried though. My friends and I were brought to a table in the corner of the bar. It's not a very big place, you can easily see all the tables at one time. We came to watch the Bruins game, drink, and grab a bite. Here's the kicker,

We were never brought water. No one came to take our order. No one even introduced themselves.

So for 25 minutes we sat at our table, orders ready, kind of thirsty and super hungry but no one ever came to take our order. We watched the waitresses wait on the other tables but not quite close enough to us so we could flag someone down. So eventually we gave up and walked towards the Garden to get food and drink. No one even talked to us as we were leaving. It's really too bad, it seemed like a fun place, an interesting menu, and I will never know, especially because I don't plan on going back. I have nothing good to base a return visit on, therefore will not be returning.

It's nice to have a bar open up in the North End that isn't a restaurant. I have been here a few times since it's opening this summer and I think it's a great little spot for drinks with friends. The first time I came to Vito's, I met a girl friend for a few drinks and catch-up time. We sat at the bar, watched some football, and were also able to people watch! The bartender's were both really nice and attentive, and the food looked (and smelled) deelicious!

I also went to Vito's with my mom for a late lunch after we had just gone to a Red Sox game. The Pats were on all of the tv's - and there really isn't a spot where you aren't in front of a TV. She got the pork quesadilla - which wasn't so good. they were a bit mushy and not at all what we were expecting. I got the tuna nicoise salad, which was pretty good. We also ordered some of their wings because they smell irresistible! And they were! They were so good, I would definitely recommend getting the wings to anyone who goes there. I think Vito's has better bar food - burgers, fries, wings - than restaurant food, but that's okay with me! The North End needed another bar like this!

What's with the poor reviews? OK, so it's a little expensive (with beers about a dollar or two over what I'm accustomed to paying) but the service was excellent and the food wasn't half bad.

I went with the fish tacos ($11.99) filled with plenty of fried tilapia and a slaw that deserves an award for not making me want to scrub my tongue with my napkin post-contact. The double tortilla situation was a bit too much, but I can see how a single would have been too thin to hold this heavyweight. Plus, this ain't Me-hi-co.

The cheeseburger ($10.99) looked good and -- when delivered undercooked -- was swapped out for a brand new one and comped compliments of the chef. Unnecessary but nice.

With appetizers like "Chicken Parm Fingers" and the "Mile High Grilled Cheese Stack" -- I have no doubts that I'll be back again soon.
