I can only speak the the happy hour $1 oyster and bar menu.

You really can't go wrong with this deal and a nice glass of white wine on a hot summer day. It really hits the spot.  And the place has pretty good music in the background.

The bartenders were nice enough. Not overly attentive nor less than needed.

Would definitely come back for HH oysters.

During the pride parade, took an outdoor seat with friends and had some drinks and appetizers.  Was very nice, not sure how the night life is there, but the waitresses were attentive.  My only complaint and I don't mean to dump it here, but why is it that Sam Adams, a local brew that Boston should be proud of because it is a very decent beer is served almost nowhere?  I mean really!  wtf! The Lagunitas IPA was a pretty good beer though.

The place is strange... can be fun, but you have to work at it......  There was a big latino bday party going on and man were they having fun - they didn't care what was going one... and it seemed like the staff felt the same way...   We were seated far from the bday party and the 4 of us had a nice quiet space to have some drinks and apps after a show at the Callerwood.   Space - nice but dark.... Ambience - kind of chill...  Drinks and food - up there... 8 drinks and 4 apps were 170.00....  Service is only fair... 3 different people had to confirm our drink order...

Met a friend here for drinks and dinner for my birthday on a Friday night.

Sat at the bar at 5:30ish, ordered a custom made drink and the barkeep didn't blink an eye.  All the drinks were delish.  We had a dozen Wellfleet Oysters which were very fresh.

We had reservations for 7:30 in the dining room.  We had the room to ourselves completely.  We shared 3 small plates and a larger plate.

Could have done with out the Grilled Bread with bean puree and olive tapenade.  The bread to puree and tapenade ratio was way lopsided. The gnocchi we shared was really the best gnocchi either one of us Italian girls had had and one of us knows how to make it from a passed down recipe.  They were light, airy buttery puffs in a deliciously lemon-butter sauce...heavenly.

The dining room was beautiful and very romantic - but I would agree with other reviewers - the music is too loud - had to talk loud to make sure we heard each other.

If zero stars was an option, I'd have picked it. A business should only thrive if they first and foremost offer good service.  Who cares about how good the product is if you receive it with attitude? AND pay top dollar for it? I'm not a fan of restaurants and bars in Boston as it is, but my experience at 28 Degrees just confirmed why.  Not sure why bad service is rewarded in Boston.  The community should demand more.  I feel bad for Boston natives.  Come out west and see how good things can be!

I liked the ambience of the place and was so trendy and not very pricey. Celebrated my bday there with my bf and had a great time! Awesome martinis - I had the blueberry basil and the mango- chipotle! :)

    Great happy hour!

Dollar oysters and decently priced cocktails. One time we were there right at 5:00 and the ordered about 3 dozen oysters and the barman said staff went as fast as they could and they gave extra as they were going so fast (took a decent amount of time and was actually missing 2!) anyways we had a laugh as we were really easy going. Service is hit or miss during happy hour. Good quality oysters and decent drinks. Still like to come here every now and then for drinks and oysters. Hope to try them for dinner sometime soon!

Five stars for the most innovative cocktails, hypnotizing decor, and good group space rentals.
Three stars for the most frustrating bar service.

    DRINKS
We loved all of the cocktails that we tried including: Elderflower Aviator, Orange Blood Martini, Lime Drop, and Rosemary Smash. I am till dreaming of the Rosemary Smash - so tart yet sweet and refreshing with real lemon juice. Mmmm.

    DECOR
Videos of fire/flames in a fireplace are playing on screens halfway up on the walls. It gives you a strange sensation of warmth yet contemporary hipster cool. After all, who lights a fireplace that is above your head? Check out the bathrooms too - weird but cool separation walls of glass make you wonder if you just walked onto a Vegas show set. Dim lighting makes the ambiance just cozy/romantic enough. There are plenty of tables although this place gets super crowded on weekend nights.

    SERVICE
The bar gets so busy that it's nearly impossible to catch the bartender's attention and order drinks. Even after we finally ordered a round, they forgot two out of the five. They were nice enough to apologize. But then it took 35 minutes at the end to get the check. Time to get a tablet POS. :P

    GROUP PARTIES
Friends have reserved space here for big groups and enjoyed the experience, since the restaurant has corners/pockets that can accommodate a private group.

Hosted my husband's birthday event here and it was a wonderful process working with Katie, the event manager.  The private party area was spacious and perfect for any celebratory event.  The waiter, James, also provided excellent service.  The drinks are very good and the calamari was delicious.

The good first- the food and drinks were both tasty.  The pancetta, fig and gorgonzola pizza had a nice balance of flavors while the cucumber sage potion went down smoothly.

The not so good now- when we arrived they had images of fires on screens throughout the place.  I'm not sure if they were trying to convince us that they were real fires, but the heat in the restaurant was almost overwhelming and it wasn't even full of people yet.  The service at the bar was lacking; the bar tenders were disinterested and were light with their pours.

There is potential for this to be a good place, but it's just not there right now.

Straight up: when I walk into a place whose website oozes feigned class and counterfeit savoir-faire, the last thing I want to hear is some asshole's half-baked mash-up of "Feelin' Good" and "I Want You Back" set to a techno-rhumba beat blaring through the loudspeakers at full blast. Excuse me, Skrillex, but mind not dropping that bass DIRECTLY on my ear drum? Minus one star
    .
I'm not entirely sure if the head chef at 28 Degrees understands that covering freezer-dried French fries from a plastic bag with McCormick's seasonings and serving them with a bizarrely-textured butter sauce in no way qualifies them to be "truffle" or "parmesan," but I doubt that the management has any trouble sleeping on a bed made of money at night, offering them at ten bucks a pop. I'm also not sure in what alternate universe that plate of twelve oysters, sub-par in taste and presentation, and garnished with an over-acidic ceviche would ever sell for $40, but clearly it's all fair game here. Minus two stars.

Finally, I'm pretty sure that reservations exist for a reason. When I walk into a restaurant and tell them I have an 8 PM reservation, there's no part of me that tacitly implies "...but feel free to make me wait as long as you fucking want." And oh, just to make sure, when you finally do seat a customer after a 30-minute wait, a simple "we apologize for the inconvenience" is a nice gesture. Politeness, it seems, is not the mot-du-jour in the 28 Degrees Zone. What's that? Oh, that's right, motherfuckers: Minus. One. Star.

Bottom line: you want fancy drinks that make you feel like you've invested your money wisely? Go to Drink in South Boston, or to PARK in Harvard Square. Want good oysters? Head down to Brookline's Cognac Bistro. Want to waste a bunch of money fast? Fuckin' buy some coke off a random guy down in Southie, and dump it into the Charles.

The music is horrid. The service at the front door isn't that much better. The oysters were fresh but not properly presented. Cocktails decent, but not great.

    Cucumber Sage Potion! so delicious.

28 degrees is apparently the perfect temperature to serve a martini, at least that's what the server told me.

Do not come here for the food, period. Everything we ordered was boring, bland and just barely warm. Our waitress seemed like she'd rather be anywhere but work and barely said 2 words to us.

However, this would be a GREAT place to meet up with friends for cocktails. The drinks were amazing and the fact that they had a dj spinning techno made me feel like I was in a trendy lounge in Las Vegas. Would def come back for the drinks and atmosphere but sadly, not for the over priced food.

Came here for cocktails one Saturday night with my date and was very impressed. The place is swanky, and the crowd was sexy. We easily got 2 seats at the bar, and a very friendly bartender greeted us. I had the super delicious blueberry basil martini & elderflower aviator. The drinks were strong, but didn't taste it. We devoured an order of truffle fries, which were good, but not the best I've had, in a matter of minutes and left just as the place was getting crowded. People at this point were squeezing around me trying to order drinks and eyeing my seat like it was a pair of Louboutins.

Why haven't I been here before? This place is pretty darn good.

I wasn't really interested when I walked in, the hostess was odd. She saw us arrive, stood there as if she definitely could care less that anyone had arrived, saw something that seemed to interest her on the floor, looked back up like she couldn't believe I was still standing there. Finally, I broke the ice and said I had a reservation, and she slowly went about finding that reservation and seating me. It was not a good start.

Things picked up from there. My waitress was, I think the word I want to use is "sweet." She didn't seem to have a lot of polish, but she was really friendly and attentive. Kind of the opposite of the hostess. I liked her, could have done without the gum chewing, but I liked her.

Everything I ate was delicious, but the drinks and the dessert stole the show. They introduced me to Txakoli. I'm in love and will be drinking it instead of water next summer. Also, the house-made sorbet paired with iced vodka shots is the perfect way to end every meal. For a Boston restaurant, they also did a really excellent job with spicing things up.

So this place is sexy, loungey, and I would definitely return for cocktails.

The food on the other hand was wack. I used a voucher for a 4 course meal for 2 people with drink pairings. This deal cost about $100 so I was really surprised how low the quality was. Now every course was medicocre. They served things like fries, pork tacos, peach sorbet, gazpacho, jicama slaw, etc. Really cheap stuff. And nothing was amazing. Our server asked how the food was because I didnt eat the gazpacho that came in a shot gass. She asked how everything was and I replied I didnt like it. She got offended. I'm old school in the sense that if you ask me, Im going to tell you. SO understand when you ask a question like "is everything ok?' please be prepared that there is 50% chance Im going to say no. After that, she was awkward for the rest of the night.

The true star of the night was the martinis. Out of 4 courses, 2 had wine pairings, 1 had chilled (well) vodka shots, and 1 course was paired with a sage martini and a spicy martini. Damn the martinis were good!

I think high end restaurants should not offer deals if they are skimping on quality. Im not sure if they do have good food on their regular menu because the food I had was not. If you havent been here, try their regular menu, avoid the deals online!!!

Awful customer service! I had a reservation on Opentable for 10 people. Fifteen minutes before my reservation they called to say they did not have space.  They had no solution, and barely muttered the words "Sorry".

I have eaten there a few times before as I live down the block for delicious cocktails.  The ambiance has a cool feel too. That being said,  the food is easy to forget, and definitely not the best on Tremont.

This was my first time at 28 Degrees and I loved the experience. It is very loungy and great ambiance for a date or dinner and drinks with friends. As it got later the music was turned up so it probably wouldn't be the place for dinner if you're just trying to talk.

It was a Saturday night but it wasn't too crowded, probably was because of the torrential down pours all night! The menu was small but great options. I had the sliders and Parmesan fries and they were  perfect portions. I would definitely come back again the next time I'm in Boston!

Before Saturday night, the last time I was here was 5 years ago.  I don't know why I didn't go more, but I am going to make a point to do that from now on.  I had a Gilt City voucher for a four course dinner with drinks for 2 people.  I ended up being about 15 minutes late for my reservation, but I called to tell them and there was no problem.  When I arrived with my friend, we waited about 15 minutes or so while we had drinks at the bar.

Once we were seated, our server was very attentive and brought out everything pretty quickly.  Every single dish we had was delicious!  The "tasting" part of the meal, which I thought would just be small versions of whatever, were full glasses.  We each had a delicious lightly carbonated white wine with our first course that I'm pretty sure I will be picking up at the store very soon.

I was very pleased with the value and especially enjoy when a restaurant/bar makes a good impression with a coupon deal.  I don't think I need to comment on the coolness/swanky factor of the lounge because everyone else already has lots to say about that!  I will say that I will definitely be back.

    ----lounge only-----
Came here for a pre-wedding celebration for a friends wedding. The lounge area is a nice setting that's pretty but not stuffy.

Ordered the prosciutto and Carmelized onion pizza off the late night menu and it was so good. Slightly sweet (which I like).

I really like 28 Degrees.  Have for years.  It's a great place to be swanky and drink delicious martini's.  I've always had good appetizer experiences and have had a few too many nights of stumbling out of here.  That being said, I was super disappointed in my last visit but will always continue to come back.  It's never has or never will be my go-to, but it's perfect for what it is.  It also has my favorite bathroom in Boston.

On our last visit we came for $1 oysters and bar bites straight from seeing the Dark Knight Rises at the theater at the Commons.  The oysters were a bit pathetic (one of them had less than a quarter size oyster in the shell).  The lobster rangoons were yummy but I was surprised by the lack of a dipping sauce.  And the margarita pizza?  Wow.  The pizza was just awful.  I would bet you $100 it came to 28 Degrees frozen off the back of a truck.  The crust was stale, the sauce was cold and yucky, and the mozz was barely melted into the pizza.  I tried everything to make it edible, but no luck.  Between those three orders, a beer, and a glass of wine we dropped $50.  I know of many places I'd rather drop $50 or I'd rather have just drank those $50. But again, I'll always come back to 28 Degrees.  I guess I'll just be more careful about what I order to eat.

The Happy Hour here is great!

5-8pm is really generous of them. Dollar oysters until 7pm...why would I ever need to pay any more for them?? The beef sliders at $5 (get them RARE) are seriously now my favorite burgers in Boston. Please don't ever take the beef sliders off the HH Bar Bites menu!

Can't comment on the cocktails because I opted for a beer, but I will be sure to try the bellini next time!

So named because it is the ideal temperature to serve a martini, this martini bar / restaurant has a sophisticated vibe that is immediately apparent upon entering. Relaxing music with images of waves crashing and subdued lighting give way to very comfortable booths, a large bar and additional seating nooks that make you want to order a bottle of champagne and tray of  oysters.  At least that is what I always have the urge to do, but on this visit I opted for something more substantial.

The dinner menu is divided into raw bar, pizzas, small plates, and large plates (of which there are only four).  The good news is that the "small plates" are not all that small.  We started with the Burrata with arugula, mushrooms, truffle oil and toasts ($12) as well as the Crispy Calamari which also include pickled cherry peppers, arugula and lemon aoli on the side ($15).

It is hard to say which I enjoyed more since they could not have been more different.  The burrata was cool and creamy.  Conversely, the calamari was crispy and the pickled cherry peppers added a bit of heat. Ordering these starters was the dining equivalent of Yin and Yang... complete opposites but very satisfying because of their contrasts.

For dinner we ordered the seared strip steak which came with potato, asparagus and roasted red radishes ($29).  The meat was perfectly cooked and nicely presented. I'm not a huge fan of red meat, but I thought the dinner was as appealing to the eye as it was to the palate.  28 Degrees also has five different pizzas. I opted for the wild mushroom pizza with manchego, herb ricotta and arugula ($15). I love the combination of the sharp and creamy Spanish and Italian cheeses, which smother the liberal sampling of mushrooms.

28 degrees is pretty chill place, but not sure how we'll get to Kevin Bacon within 28?

Martinis here and Martinis there - skakin' and stirred!

I prefer mines skakin - ooh Mr. "Bo" --- "od".  Also, Jonathan and awesome bartender made mines with Whiskey & Strawberry --- yummy! Definitely perfect for they hot evening when I attend, and I wasn't talking about me.  The temperature was literally pretty warm haha! We also enjoyed some garlic fries along they way and man for some reason it worked with the drinks cause I chowed down! - Enjoy!

My boyfriend and I came here looking to have a drink or two on a Friday ay 6PM, We sat at the bar. The bartender Jonathan was very friendly, suggested a couple things to try out and very quick. Also, the atmosphere is great!

    Drinks:
I had a Frozen Bellini for starters and it met my expectations but I did not love it, then again, I am not big into frozen drinks.

Then, I had a Passion Fruit Inferno from their Spiced category. LOVED it! It had just the right amount of heat!

My Boyfriend had a Blueberry Basil Martini and the Blueberry Cardamom Martini. He enjoyed both!

    Food:
$1 Oysters between 5-8 at the bar (except Saturdays) The were super fresh and the sauces were great, the only downside was they ran out by 7. (We had 20)

Crispy Calamari: This dish was really good, the Lemon Aioli sauce went well with the plate and the peppers. It was a big plate for  a "Small plate" but I found it a bit pricy at $15.

Bartender: Jonathan- Very friendly, suggested drinks.

Will definitely come again for the Oysters and to try out new drinks!

28 Degrees is a beautiful neighborhood gem in the South End.  This week, I decided to try the Wine Dinner.  On my previous visits to 28, I've mostly enjoyed apps/bar fare and crafty cocktails.  In fact, I serve what I titled "a brunch martini" fashioned after a lovely martini I enjoyed a couple of years ago at 28 made with cucumber vodka, over a lime juice muddle of cilantro!

This particular evening, I was excited to be seated for a 'proper' dinner.
28 Degrees is super swanky and sexy.  The location is perfect. The restaurant is on the corner of a quiet, one way street in the historic, trendy neighborhood.  The dim lighting and modern, clean-lined décor makes for a nice balance between romance and posh. This makes it perfect for an intimate date or for after work cocktails with friends or coworkers.

We were lucky to receive the attentive and  upbeat service of Mr. Chris E! Thanks!

We started with one of 28's savory brick oven pizzas: tomato and mozzarella with fresh cut basil and beautiful, large slices of pepperoni (as requested by my dining companion).

For the Wine Dinner portion of the evening, we started with the most aesthetically-pleasing Upland cress salad I've ever been served, sitting upon three beautifully distracting watermelon radish slices.  I haven't had the pleasure of sampling watermelon radish before and now it is my new favorite thing!  They are incredibly attractive!

The salad was topped with pomegranate arils, black and white sesame seeds which added a nice crunch, and a bold blood orange vinaigrette!  A sweet component was lacking in my opinion as the pom and blood orange required some contrast, especially with the neutral flesh of the radish and the bitterness of the cress.

This dish was paired with an 2010 Austrian, medium-bodied Grüner Veltliner which was moderately acidic with a citrus finish.

The Mahi Mahi was lovely with a nice crisp pan-seared, almost blackened surface, light seasoning, and moist, flaky flesh.  The Mahi was placed upon shaved fennel with halved purple potato, grilled broccolini, and chopped mint leaves.
This dish was paired with a French, medium-bodied, moderately acidic white with a honey finish. (Picpoul de Pinet)

The tenderloin had great flavor and was served over a rich, buttery, pomme puree, large pearl onion, jus, and globe carrots (...'tis the season for rustic root veggies I suppose?)
The beef dish was paired with a nice Nebbiolo which presented floral notes (rose) and tangy cherry with a dry finish.

The wine dinner was rounded off with a trio of spectacular desserts:
Strawberry shortcake with layers of feather light lemon cake, light whipped sweet cream, and fresh strawberries, fudge brownies topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate and caramel sauce, and mini cannolis filled with mascarpone and fine, fresh mined peppermint sitting upon a honey drizzle.
Dessert was paired with a tawny with heavy honey undertones.

All I can say is FROZEN BELLINI.

We only stayed for 1 cocktail, but the drink was worth it. It is a lounge/restaurant with a dance area when you first walk in.

It's pretty trendy and upscale, and I would definitely come back on again to stay longer.

"HAAAAAAAWNNNNN"....oh...pardon me.  Just a little sleepy.  For some odd reason, 28 Degrees had that effect on me.  I can't quite put my finger on why.  The decor was ok, if a little eager to be trendy.  The ambiance was completely thrown off by the 90's rock music on the Thursday night I went, but who doesn't like the occasional incongruous grunge fest?

The service was informal but pleasant.  The waitress struck a tone of being cheerfully resigned to fate. "oh...I guess you guys are going to eat here...ok, well I suppose I've got to bring you food and drink.  No sense putting up  a fight about it..." I got the feeling that the bar was the main event, and anyone who was sitting at tables was probably doing it wrong.  This sentiment was backed up by the drinks we got.  Well mixed and strong, my friend got some peach something or the other that was one of the better tasting girly drinks in recent memory.  Mine had St. Germaine and gin and was done right.

The food was decent, if a little on the scarce side.  Mid way through the meal, the table side consensus was reached that we would probably need a Mickey D's run afterwards. The lobster rangoons, ceviche, short ribs and tacos all tasted decent, but came in small quantities, and all looked better than they tasted.

I suppose the only pulse quickening part of the meal was receiving the check.  "Did we REALLY eat that much?!" was the first thought.  In fairness, it wasn't *too* bad, but nothing we could put our finger on warranted the cost.  Overall, not a bad dining experience, but I would stick to the bar if I'm ever at 28 Degrees again.

Go here for drinks--why didn't I read the Yelp reviews? The food is overpriced and underwhelming, as is the service. However, if you sit outside and do some sipping, the South End people watching scene is quite awesome.

HOWEVER, the bathroom is fabulous. If you could eat the bathroom, this would be five stars.

People have TOTALLY gotten pregnant in the sexy bathroom of this place.....they are so dimly lit, and while marked as "W", not very clearly.  They are more slick that the rest of the bar.  Okay, so you want a real review of the restaurant?  Okay.

We had a 6 p.m. reservation, which were totally unnecessary for the early time we went.  They have valet for $16, which could be worth it if you can't find parking near by.  Dorian and I ended up being seated before our friend arrived, and had a cocktail.  A little stiff cost-wise (on average they are about $11) but my cucumber collins was good, and truly unlike a boring old collins drink.  I couldn't resist on the $1 oysters, which were beautifully shucked and cleaned and slurpable from the shell.  They were served with two different mignonettes, one being a traditional style mignonette, and the other was made with what seemed to be mild jalapenos and both were delicious.  Dorian went with the cheese of the day, which was a mascapone wrapped in mozzarella, which was also yummy, but not my jam (I like my cheese stinky).  It was served with a grilled bread that was tasty.

This place seems to be more of a bar than a restaurant in the entrees-everything is very snackable and perfect with drinks, which is really great.  I ordered a slider ($7) with a side of corn off the cob ($8) with some fries to share at the table ($7).  All were yummy.  The burger came with cheddar and bacon, and was the perfect size served with arugula, and the corn salad was good with flavors of sour cream, jalapeno, and seasoned well.  The entrees come in two different sizes, which is really perfect for lighter dining, and also for coming and sampling among friends.

I went for a French 28, which was a gin and champagne concoction as my follow up cocktail, and it was delicious.  A little more sweet that I typically like, but really good.  We'll be back again soon to drink expensive cocktails in this low key environment.  It was classy without being pretentious, and the food was yummy.  I dig.

$1 raw oysters everyday from 5-7PM, awesome. Double-sided mirrored bathroom walls, awesome. Full-length mirror in the men's bathroom, apparently so I can check out how great my suit looks, even more awesome.

Great drink list. I tried the: Pomegranate Cosmo ($10.50). I had: A Prima Pils beer from the Victory Brewing Company ($6.50). I also had the 60 Minute IPA, from the Dogfish Head Craft Brewery ($6.50).

The Island Creek Oysters, from Duxbury, MA ($2.50 ea or $1 from 5-7PM) were crisp, cold, fresh and delicious. The Creamy Mac & Cheese, made with Gruyere ($8) was decent, but you must be a fan of Gruyere.

The DJ was spinning some very cool new age techno/jazz mash-up and complementing it with video streamed off YouTube that was displayed on the flat screens throughout.

    Great spot.

We started the "ExtravaGAYnza" Tour 2007 here last night. I made the mistake of getting off at Copley and walking, so by the time I got there, I was a sweaty mess. Luckily the AC was broken. We Yelpers are cursed.

The insane heat and humidity aside, I really liked the space, the decor and especially the bathrooms. The place was crowded but not so much so that you wanted to die. I was worried we would be sardines in a can when I saw that line, but was nicely surprised when I got inside.(Daniel S. had me skip that line a the rock star).

I only had time for one drink - a frozen Bellini - and was pleased. The no AC would loose the place some points normally, but I can see myself really liking it if I go back on a cooler, less crowded day. One point for potential.

I had always heard of 28 Degrees and had always wanted to try it out. I didn't eat here, but I did go to grab some drinks on a Friday night and I really enjoyed it!

I am a BIG fan for a good mojito and when I saw on the menu they served 'Cucumber Mojitos' I was both scared and excited. Not sure what to think of this odd mixed drink, I just knew I had to try it.

And I was PLEASANTLY surprised! The only way to describe the taste is 'interesting.' But interesting in a good way! I ended up ordering it all night...the only downside was that it did leave an aftertaste for the rest of the night when I left, but I guess that's my fault for drinking a gallon of it.

The decor is very classy yet comfortable. Seems like a great place for people to grab drinks after work or before hitting other bars downtown. The clientele is mostly young professional to middle-aged gay men, fag hags, and a couple lesbians here and there. Oh, and some guy I named 'Hollywood' who was sitting across the bar from me with shades on...it was 10:00 at night.

The bathrooms were VERY confusing. They aren't labeled and are basically a wall of mirrors. Cut to me sketchily and awkwardly and drunkenly following a couple dudes down a hallway to watch which bathroom they went in--because I sure as hell didn't know which was the men's room!

Overall a great time and I would definitely go again!

A swanky Euro lounge/restaurant with wannabe hip clientele. The wave themed plasmas, blue neon lighting and happy, bumpy house is understandably popular with a segment of South End denizens, though in my opinion it would only be worth visiting on Mondays from 5-7 for their dollar oysters.

I should disclose that I didn't try the food here, but the drinks were a swift kick to our sobriety. The frozen peach bellini (a fruit/vodka/champagne concoction) was smooth and pleasant and simple margarita aided my boyfriend in his displays of public affection. Even near closing time, the barkeeps' attention was difficult to catch although when we did they were cordial and prompt so we got to laze around on their comfortable booths. Overall, nothing unique drew me in but there is certainly hope for the generous space.

Awesome.  My husband, my friend and I went two months ago for the first time and it was fantastic.  I felt a little bad at first, since my friend wanted to go to Ivy and I love Ivy....it was like I was cheating on them!  But it turned out great.  Since then we've gone back twice!  Once was later at night for more of a cocktails thing.  The crowd definitely changes but it is still enjoyable.

The food is also served tapas style; I can best describe it as comfort food.  We had the mac and cheese (amazing) the gnocchi (best gnocchi in Boston and I get it at every restaurant!) and the steak ...amazing.  (A few other dishes in there too that were also good)  Our waiter was attentive and gave us great suggestions when we asked for them.  I have, however, noticed that there are two main servers...one is fantastic and the other one, not so much.

My suggestion is if you want to go there for drinks to make a 10pm reservation and order a few dishes.  Oh, and the $14 valet parking is pretty sweet.

2.20 Update:  I just wanted to give an update since I held my birthday party at 28 Degrees this past weekend.  What a great time.  I had called to make arrangements ahead of time since we were a larger group (15) and I requested the particular spot in the restaurant that I wanted, which they not only accommodated but they pulled across the curtains to make is semi private.  We did not have to meet any minimums and we started at 9:30 and stayed until the Sound of Music came on at closing time (I am not kidding you)

Our waitress was fantastic, very attentive and very personable.  Their menu had changed since the last time we had been there which is always a treat.  To be perfectly honest I can't remember what everyone ordered but I remember everyone being really excited about it.  (Or perhaps just excited about my birthday...oh wait, that was me...) Many people gave our group the eye while trying to find a place to sit which just goes to show you a little phone call goes a long way.  I would not hesitate to suggest 28 Degrees to anyone who wants to plan a party.

The atmosphere at 28 Degrees was tastefully hip and loungy, our hostess and bartender were friendly, and the drink list was creative (try the frozen bellini martini). Food portions were actually on the larger side, as far as the "small shared plates" concept goes. Tempurah veggies were crisp and tasty, and the mini pizzas were good, even if a bit too oily for my liking.

However: Don't let the waitstaff bully you into ordering more than you came for. Our waitress barely stopped short of bitch-slapping us after we (3 girls) only ordered three food items off the menu. She literally rolled her eyes while demanding, "Aren't you hungry? It IS dinnertime." There is nothing worse than being treated like cheapskates after donating six-drinks-worth of cash to an establishment. Subtract one star for very rude service.
