I am only reviewing this place as a bar and not for their food. That being said, the fish and chips are substantial and not too shabby. As for the rest, it's an English/Irish Pub: if you came to eat, go somewhere else.

On to the booze: being in Kentucky, the liquor collection leans torwards whiskeys. But the main event here, like the other two locations, is the beer. Seasonals are always on tap, sometimes hosting a rare brew, such as the venerable 120 Minute IPA from Dogfish Head late last year, or Hopslam continuously throughout Bell's release. At any given time, you will be able to find a brew to satisfy your mood and palate.

Stop by on a sunny day and sit out on the sidewalk/boulevard that Mainstrasse offers and grab a beer.

P.S. Avoid this place like the plague on Friday and Saturday nights unless you want to listen to dub-step and watch the weekly Douche-bag Dance-off. Just my opinion.

Superior bar food and a great setting by day.  They tend to ruin it by turning it into club Cock and Bull by night. I guess they wouldn't do it if it didn't make them more money so who am I to bitch.  Generally good service and  beer selection.  This has been one of my go to places when in town for over 10 years.  Check it out, it will not disappoint.

Been stopping in this place from time to time. Good place for a drink or two

Let me start by saying one of the only reasons why I go out here is for the beers. Cock & Bull is not somewhere you should expect a mind-blowing meal or anything along those lines. Go for the great beer selection. I believe they have about 50 beers on tap (even the occasional 3 Floyds!) and somewhat decent sized menu. Usually I get the spinach and artichoke dip and a few beers and call it a night. It's hard to eat their non-appetizer menu items because you can taste how they are cooked from a frozen state and that's just not how I roll.
Bottom line is, go here to watch a game, grab a few beers and maybe an appetizer. Don't expect a 4-star meal.

Excellent Bloody Mary bar on Sundays, however, brunch leaves much to be desired.  Eggs Benedict does not include any sides, just the benedict, which was a little disappointing.  I will be back for the Bloody Marys, but not for the food.

Cool place, great food. I like this place a lot. Fish and chips are great...you gotta get the chipotle mayo with the fries. Amazing draft beer selection.

The beer list like everyone says is extensive, and unique. But the prices on beer are a bit high. $7.50 for a pint of IPA. Other beers are just as expensive. Not really worth it to hang out here every night as your local hangout. But once in a while is fine.

I did not eat because most of the foods are heavy fried foods and sandwiches. Not very friendly for people counting calories to some degree. I did not notice salads of any kind. But then again looks like a good menu if you didn't care about that.

So you're looking for a pub with great brews and great food.  It would help if the beer list was amazing.  Bonus points if they are open for lunch.  Double bonus if they have outside seating that's great for people watching.  This is your place!

The Yelp mobile app pointed me at beer heaven. Forty-nine taps with a huge variety.  The list is nicely organized.  In the interests of safety and responsible consumption the high ABV selections are served in half pints. I have visited several times and I've always enjoyed my selections.

The pub food here is also excellent.  My favorite sandwich is the Londoner.  Take marinated flank steak and grill it to order.  Sprinkle it with parmesan cheese and serve it on a toasted English muffin.   Of course you can have fries of crisps on the side.  It doesn't get much better than this for $10.99.

I really appreciate the consistency of my experiences here.  Every visit, and there have been several, has been excellent.  To me that's the mark of a well-run establishment.

Great atmosphere and great service. I had the portobello mushroom sandwich was was delicious. Lots of TV's inside and charming seating outside in the middle of the street. Definitely better food and experience than your average bar/pub.

Great beer selection. It was smaller than other Cock-and-Bull's I've been to, but it had a cozier, local feel about it (as local as an English Pub in Kentucky can get). I had 2 Black and Tan's with nachos. The nacho's were huge and half off! I love that. The first black and tan was mostly mixed together and brown, but they redeemed themselves on the second pint. I'll be going back when I want to have drinks with friends.

Tuesday trivia night with Justin is the best (helps that he's a good friend of mine) but  otherwise, good beer is always flowing & on tap. The pub dip is great, try it with the trio if you want to play it safe, i'd also recommend "the bull's long late nighter" as a last meal, because it might give you a heart attack, it's really tasty, but deep fried in fatty goodness, ha ha! They have a great pint night on thursdays as well. I tend to only hit it up on weekdays, because it turns into a different bar on the busy weekends, but so do most of the bars in Mainstrasse.

I feel like this place needs 2 different reviews. One for day and one for night. Cock and Bull is a favorite lunch spot of mine. Amazing beer selection and consistently good British pub food mixed in with some lighter options. Probably the best fish and chips in town. Especially great when the weather is nice and you can sit outside.

Night time is a different story. The last time I went in there was a DJ that was too loud for the smaller space. I prefer to be able to just sit with a pint and chat with your neighbors at the bar, not listen to crappy pop music. It's bearable, but it also depends on the night. Weeknights are much more relaxed. But I've been coming here for over 10 years, and I don't see that stopping any time soon.

This is a Mainstrasse staple so I wish I could give it more than three stars.  Maybe it gets three stars in the winter and four in the summer when you can sit at the tables outside by the fountain.

My husband and I went for happy hour two weeks ago.  What started as just a drink or two turned into an all night party when more of our friends kept showing up.  We ordered the chili since we realized around nine that we weren't going home to fix dinner.  The chili was hearty with the perfect ratio of beans, meat and tomatoes.

Around ten they kicked us out of our table to clear the floor for the DJ.  I was annoyed that they weren't more polite about it but whatever.  The DJ wasn't great but after several hours of drinking that wasn't going to keep me from dancing (or making a fool of myself).  I probably won't make a point to come back but if our friends are there, I'm up for it.

Also, if you order a Baker's on the rocks, make sure they know you said Baker's and not Maker's.  Especially since there is only a 50 cent difference in price.

As an ex-pat Brit it always makes me laugh when an establishment tries to promote itself as "an authentic British pub". Invariably, these places are about as authentic as a new pair of $5 Nikes from the flea market.

The Cock & Bull is no different. Presumably their clichéd idea of authenticity is to display Union Jack flags in abundance and offer a sizeable on-tap beer menu with a weak selection of oh-so-average bar food. Evidently, no-one from this place has been to England recently where pubs - for at least the last decade or more - have been offering a much greater and varied menu with choices to cater for almost any taste or diet.

We decided to  return to Cock & Bull's doors for the first time since Kenton County's wise decision to ban smoking in public establishments. From that point of view the pub is now far more of a pleasant place to walk into. Our previous visit was horrible, our clothes reeking of cigarette smoke the rest of the day, the invasion on our taste buds palpable.

What hasn't changed is the wildly indifferent service. I don't know if Cock & Bull specifically train their staff to be slow and lackadaisical but that's been our experience on almost every visit since 2004. There's rarely been any friendliness or interest in us or the questions we have. Instead we've received little more than automaton responses with little or no follow-ups to find out how our food is or whether we need more beer or soda refills. Our tips have always reflected this less-than-average attitude but I can't help thinking the pub is also losing oodles of dollars in repeat orders and extras.

On our visit this time there was maybe 8 covers in the place with two servers. The service remained poor, our check delivered without us being asked if we wanted desserts (we did, but not if they couldn't be bothered to ask) It was also quickly whisked away after we paid, and along before we were ready to leave our table. That always smacks of greed on the servers behalf and never fails to put me off going back to eat there again.

Our food was averagely so-so. My Teriyaki wrap contained large tough chunks of relatively tasteless cold chicken and limp lettuce. My co-diners did not fare much better, one burger burnt, the other swimming in only partially-melted cheese. Additionally, all of our fries had a peculiar fishy aftertaste, as if they had been cooked in old/shared oil.

If people want to consider this is as an 'authentic British pub' that's up to them, but - from the horses mouth - believe me when I say it isn't. Hell, the barmaid even had pretty good teeth! What's that all about?

Okay nice little place but I won't be back! The waitress wasn't friendly at all when I walked in and acted like I had disturbed from her perch in the corner. She was also a quiet talker which doesn't work in a noisy Pub.

Asked what was the soup of the day and got a fast answer that was only understandable as chicken.

Order the pretzels and fish and chips and got them both at the same time after the soup. It was like I was ruining her chance of being cut early!

On to the meal. Soup awesome, Pretzel awesome, Sam Adams awesome fish and chips just okay. The center was not even warm and you could tell it had been frozen. The tartar sauce was watery and tasteless. Oh make sure you clarify what they consider chips here as in England chips are French fries and crisps are potato chips. Here chips are chips.

Nice place to hangout for a beer but not worth the walk in the rain from the hotel.

Good beer selection, but the service can vary depending on how busy they are. In one instance, a coworker and I could not get decent service at either the bar or while seated at a table. This was on a Thursday night.

The food is excellent, especially the fish & chips. Also, the outside seating is wonderful for people watching.

I paid a visit to Covington's Cock and Bull location to have a little drink after having dinner at Lime Taqueria on an early Friday evening. We were able to sit at a table easily across the street where a guy was singing and taking requests. There were tables right outside the pub and on the huge island that divides the street. Luckily they do offer the option to sit outside (with waiter service too!) because once I stepped inside the pub to use the restroom, I was overwhelmed by the mild-moderate smell of secondhand smoke. My cousin warned me about this since I'm a California girl and therefore spoiled by the non-smoking laws.

Great selection of beer and wine. Some of the wine glasses our server gave us still had remnants of lipstick on the rims and I appreciate that our server went out of her way to make sure to get us wine glasses that were clean. Pretty chill atmosphere. I can't say anything about the food since we didn't have any. Their service is ok, not excellent but not completely horrible either. If I'm ever in the area and I want some extensive options on beer, I'll def head over to Cock and Bull.

First time visitor to this charming Pub. I attended the Yelp Drinks Event and found the service to be wonderful.  Tried the fish & chips which were really good- crispy on the outside, very moist on the inside. Wonderful selection of beers. Incredibly attentive servers. Will definitely come back for another visit.

Parking plentiful and lots of outside tables to enjoy warm weather.

Delicious food and an amazing beer selection.  How can you go wrong?  The atmosphere is nice and relaxed, service is good.

My favorite things are their special beer options, such as the Pink Elephant (Delirium Tremens and Raspberry Framboise...yum!).  They're delicious and creative (but pretty pricey so watch out).

My best advice to you is to order the trio of dips with chips.  They are all good, and are only $1 more than ordering just one dip.  That was definitely my favorite menu item that we tried.

My buffalo chicken quesadilla was also delicious...it has buffalo chicken, carrots, celery, and blue cheese, so it's really just yummy wings wrapped up in a grilled tortilla.  I'm a fan.

Also, they have a nice patio area, and although it was cold and rainy the day I went, I could tell it would be a great place to sit and people watch/relax outside.

Watch your bar tab here...drinks can be pricey.  Hit up their happy hours for better prices.

The food  here is REALLY good. Some of the best fish n chips ive had in my lifetime. Something odd on the menu we tried was jalapeño cheese sticks which were AMAZING !!!!!!! The wife and I really enjoy going here. It can get quite uncomfortable waiting on a seat as the place is tiny. Go early IMO and enjoy the food and experience.

On a side note I saw 2 grown men wait an hour for their table only to sit down and order a Budweiser.... SERIOUSLY??????? lol only in Kentucky.

Also to the gentleman complaining of the smoke.... YOURE IN KENTUCKY AND ITS ALLOWED... Although I dont smoke why the hell would you complain? If you dont like it jog 5 mins across the river.

Love this place.  The food is very good.  The outdoor seating during the warmer months is wonderful.  The beer selection is amazing.

During my visits here I have always discovered terrific beers.  This is where I first discovered Delirium Tremens and quickly put it at the top of my all-time favorites list.  And the beer menu is always getting new additions, so you can keep discovering new favorites.

I have heard it can get pretty crowded during peak weekend hours, which can lead to slow service.  I guess I've always gone during the week or non-peak hours, so the service has always been just fine.

If you are looking for a nice place to relax outside and try new beers, this is it!

Solid place to drink in Mainstrausse. Kind of a mix between The Pub and Molly Malones as it's in a very old looking location, yet is extremely squeaky clean inside.

Great drink selection with a large menu of micro-brews and whiskeys at your finger tips. It comes at a price though, as the last time I was there I spent 26 dollars for four beers. I've yet to try the food but I've heard good things from others.

Overall it's the one and only pub scenes on Mainstrausse and I recommend it if you are looking for a good sit down drinking scene.

I expect certain things from an English-themed pub: soccer, delicious fish and chips, bangers and mash...while Cock and Bull looks the part, it left me wanting in all categories. I love the pub decor and atmosphere-wise it is great (minus the smoking). It's small and cozy. All good.

Here's my main quarrel: we went to watch a soccer game (US v Argentina). My husband google-searched soccer bars and Cock and Bull was listed. It's NCAA time, so it was understandable that basketball was on most of the many TVs they had. There was only one small screen playing the soccer game, so we asked if they could put it on one of the four large TV screens. The person in charge of the TVs said that they couldn't because some guys at the bar were watching the basketball game and that he'd change it if they left. This was irritating, because 1) we could see that they weren't watching it, 2) he didn't change it when they left, and 3), the basketball game was on EVERY OTHER TV in the small space. It's fine if you don't want to change it because it's March madness, but don't make up a lame and easily disputed excuse. We ended up having to squint the whole time.

The drink selection was fine, and the food prices were reasonable. I was really sad that there were no bangers and mash, but the bangers cheese dip appetizer was pretty tasty. I ordered the fish and chips (the lightweight). It was ok. The cod pieces were big, but I was a little surprised at the batter: it was a lot like fish stick breading. Don't get me wrong, I love my fish sticks, but it was just slightly unexpected. I think I still prefer a more traditional fish batter, but reasonable people could disagree. The fries were pretty tasty, nothing particularly special. The husband ordered the Londoner: marinated steak strips on an English muffin. It was pretty bland and we would not recommend it. Yikes. The couple we were with seemed to enjoy their burger and wraps.

So, on the food front, I'd say average on the entree side, and maybe a little better on the appetizer side (based on what I saw on the menu).  It really didn't seem to be terribly authentic English pub food in comparison to other places I have been. This is a good place for drinks and snacks if you don't mind the smoke, and it sounds like the outdoor seating is nice. I'm not sure if we'll go back, since the experience as a whole was underwhelming and didn't leave us with a great impression.

Okay, first let me say that the thing I like the most about this pub is that it is about a minute walk from my house.  The second thing I like about this place is the abundance of (season and weather permitting) OUTDOOR seating.  I'm not a fan of cigarette smoke, so must admit that I frequent this place more often when the weather is nice and I can sit outside by the Goose Girl Fountain (and get waiter service!).

It's a great neighborhood pub with a huge selection of beer ( I mean they have a "beer book-menu").  The food never disappoints either.  I'm a big fan of their "fish and chips", the breading on the fish is light and flaky and they're very generous with the fish.  The "3B burger" is also quite tasty (balsamic, bleu cheese and BACON)...YUM.  Their "Bavarian pretzels" appetizer is also VERY good, I mean they're fried, so that takes these pretzels to another level all together.

Thursday nights starting at 6pm, they have "pint night", when you buy a pint of the featured beer, you keep the logo pint glass and get discounted refills all night!  I have some friends who have quite the "pint night" collection!

Had been wanting to go here due to all the hype and great reviews... however I was sadly disappointed. When we walked in the manager said, "Hi be right with you." Then proceeded to chat up the girl he was interviewing for a job there and forgot about us. Finally a server walked by and asked if we needed something. Yeah a table would be nice!

So I ordered the much anticipated fish n chips, they tasted ok. I was expecting classic pub beer battered fish but got what tasted like something from the Gorton fisherman. Chips? Not quite, these crispy fries were also ok, but clearly frozen. And I wasn't quite sure what to make of the shriveled bits of romaine lettuce and julienne cut carrots scattered about my plate. Garnish?... ummm fail.

So with only a few bites to go (my husband had already finished his overpriced prepackaged burger), the server finally returned to ask if we needed anything and to drop off our bill.

Service- poor, food-mediocre, price-waaaaay too much for what you get. overall about the only thing it had going for it was the big screen tvs for the sports fan, of which I am not.

Since we live in Mainstrasse Village, we make it to Cock and Bull often. I love the drink selection, and the food is yummy.

I usually get the fish and chips, which is good and not too greasy. I've had the pretzels and those are delicious.

I know on weekend nights they clear out the tables, but I've never stuck around past dinner time. The smoke is a problem, but hopefully nky will ban that soon.

I've had spotty service, so that's why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. I've also heard that they open bright and early on St. Patty's Day and you can earn a plaque!

Perhaps if I'm a drinker I could give this place a 3-star but for food quality and service, I'd go elsewhere.

Patrons smoke inside the pub so if you don't mind breathing second hand smoke, if you don't mind smelling like a smoker and if you don't mind eating food exposed to such air quality then suit yourself.

Hope Cock and Bull English Pub provide a smoking lounge to cater to their smoking patrons that way non-smokers can also enjoy the pub.

My visit was intended to be just a meeting point with a friend. I had not been in the Cock and Bull, and didn't pick it as the meeting place. I arrived a few minutes early and found the seats at the bar full. Luckily enough a couple was leaving the bar as I ordered a drink, freeing up two seats.

Just a couple of drinks was enough to make me a fan. Great atmosphere, great selection, and a great mix of people, too. Very happy the music wasn't blasting so the conversation was easy - no shouting needed here.

Next visit will include the fisn n chips.

Great beer list and awesome bar grub. It's great to sit outside when it's nice out and do some people watching in the COV. Get the Bavarian pretzels; you won't regret it.

I would rate this higher, but the service has been absolutely atrocious every time I've been there. I'm not sure if they're short-staffed or what, but it takes forever to get served. It's still worth a visit if you're in Covington and you want a good beer.

For five years I lived in the domestic capitol of pubs: Boston. Upon moving to Cincinnati (where German culture rules) I wasn't sure how authentic the local Irish/British pubs would be, but Cock & Bull is right up there with some of my favorites from back east.

There's traditional bar food, as well as the UK delicacy of fish and chips. It is possibly the best deal in all of Covington, as the pieces of fish are HUGE! It's definitely a great value! Also, I love the selection of beers: wide variety of uncommon ones as well as the standard Guiness and others.

The atmosphere is fantastic... until 10pm when the DJ starts mixing. I've spent more time laughing at the lack of skills the DJs that Cock & Bull have on the weekends. They can't mix, blend, etc. at all! Not to mention that the great feel of a British pub *completely* disappears once the half-dressed 20-somethings start grinding on the dance floor to sub-par dance music.

I wish they'd get better DJs and try to attract better late-night clientèle. Then maybe I'd stay past 10pm instead of going across the street to a better late-late night bar.

We stopped into the Cock & Bull on a Saturday afternoon prior to catching a Reds game across the river.  my friend who brought us here had been multiple times and had nothing but good things to say.

We decided to sit inside at the bar because of the air conditioning.  The place was about half full, both the bar and the tables.  I entertained myself for a few minutes by creatively rearranging the words in the Pub's name, but eventually got down to business and ordered a beer.

The Cock and Bull has a great selection of draft beers that represents a wide variety of styles.  One friend did comment on the fact that it appeared as though the Germans outnumbered the English in an English Pub, which we found amusing.

If you like beer, you'll find something you like here.

I didn't have a full meal, we came for the beer, but we did pass around an order of chicken fingers & chips.  The chicken fingers were completely acceptable, reasonably moist and flavorful.  The chips were fresh and had a nice texture range of crispy / crunchy to soggy / greasy / delicious.

As I mentioned we sat at the bar and always had the attention of the bartenders as soon as we needed it.

The last thing I should mention is that it appears as though the Pub has a weekly "Pint Night" where you purchase a beer and get to keep the pint glass.  In my college days we knew this experience as "Logo glass night".  Unfortunately for me, the Cock and Bull hosts pint night midweek.

If anyone stumbles upon this review and knows of a place in Chicago that offers a "Pint Night / Logo Glass", I'll gladly pay a crisp $1 bill for that info!

The Cock and Bull is my favorite bar in Covington. No question.

First of all, it has my favorite thing a bar can have - outdoor seating. And really awesome outdoor seating, as it's both directly outside of the building and across the street on a small patio. You can people watch, you can drink, you can eat, it's fantastic.

And at this outside patio, they have waiter service! You don't even have to get out of your seat for a drink. Be warned though ... when they're busy (and they're always busy), it will take a while for you to get anything. You're often better off just going inside, where there will still be a monster crowd at the bar, but it'll move.

The Cock and Bull has your regular English pup bar food selection, with a really excellent fish and chips. Like, really excellent! Hamburger's OK, but I'd skip it if you're not really craving on. Fish and chips. Do it.

They also have been known to have live music, which can be awesome when it's an acoustic rock band like The Turkey's (amazing!), and kind of really annoying when it's a too loud Top-40s DJ. Why, Cock and Bull? Why?

Also, smoking is still allowed in bars in Kentucky, for some awful unknown reason - so if you do find yourself inside, you might also find yourself smelling like smoke for the next couple of days.

Whenever I find myself making the trip over the river to Kentucky, this is where I go. Hell, keep and eye out, you might even see me eating some fish and chips. No you can't have any! Get your own!

If you aren't a fan yet, you will be after experiencing these fish and chips!

The BEST fish and chips I have yet to find in the Nati area and great beer to go along with it serving up one of my favorite Hard Ciders, my English experience feels complete.  But fish and chips is not the only yummy thing to fly off the menu - the fries are beer battered dripping greasy goodness, salads are super fresh and the shrimp bisque is delicious.

Have trouble choosing one?  No fears, there are combo type deals featuring the soups, salads and sides.  My tummy never leaves empty.  The pub is also planted in one of my favorite hoods - Main Strasse.  Across the street are some more delicious pubs with thirst quenching varieties - so if hopping is on the menu, the choices are vast.

The pub also houses large video screens covering the World Cup and other big sports events and later in the evening will curate a show by some local faves including the Turkeys.  Be sure to check out the schedule and snag a good view of great tunes or the score!

One of my favorite places to go when the warm weather hits. There's a reason why it's hard to get a seat there while the other pubs in the area have plenty of chairs left. It's gotten better since they have expanded to the area by the Goose Girl Fountain in the center. Great live music on the weekends when outside seating is open.

Fish is fantastic, Queens Nachos and Ruben are quite good also. Nice beer selections and good prices.

I suggested the Cock & Bull as a meeting place to meet up with some friends.  My visit started off marvelously but ended on a sour note.

They have an excellent beer selection.  The beer styles ranged from heavy ales, which are atypical of the greater Cincinnati area, to more common German style beers which are a dime a dozen 'round these parts.  They featured the a number of offerings from Stone, Rogue, and Dogfish breweries.  A little bit of everything for everyone.

The service was great.  The bartenders knew the game and I never waited more than a minute to get served.  Top notch service in a crowded environment!

So what screwed it up?  The place had an identity crisis right in the middle of my visit.  We were all drinking and carrying on as one would expect in a pub.  Then all of a sudden, a DJ started bumping top 40 in the middle of the place.  If I wanted to dance, I would have gone to a club.  I wanted to drink so I went to a pub.  Fittingly enough the pub went from standing room only to seats a plenty and our visit came to an abrupt end.

NOTE- Whenever I eat at an establishment I look at the following factors: quality of service, quality of food, price of meal, portion sizes, and the restaurant ambiance.

Located on Main and 6th in downtown Covington Kentucky's MainStrasse Village is the Cock & Bull English Pub. The Pub was founded in 1999 by Craig Johnson who vowed to never have a domestic beer on tap. Known locally for their hard to find selection of English Beers, the Cock & Bull also sports an award winning menu that is worth the visit.

A wide rich wood bar dominates the interior. The atmosphere takes you back to the old world where you can always find good conversation and good drink.

I tried the Fish-and-Chips with a nice glass of Brown Ale. The fish was fresh, light, and crispy -- deserving of it's award status. I have had similar items that left your fingers wet with grease, but not the Cock & Bull's.

    Appetizers
The appetizers included your standard fare for Pub-type foods. The Bavarian Pretzels were fun and the Spring Pinwheels were a surprise.

    Sandwiches and Wraps
Again, what you would expect of a pub in the way of sandwiches, although the Cock & Bull Hot Brown looked like a tasty treat:

Hot roasted turkey and ham, sliced tomatoes, atop a grilled English muffin, then blanketed in our tasty beer cheese sauce. Two large strips of bacon complete this hearty "Kentucky" Pub meal -- served with Pub Chips or fries.

In addition, they served burgers and crab cakes. However, if you felt you needed a little more to fill you up, the Cock & Bull offered steaks marinated in their secret recipe Jim Beam sauce.

Open 7 days a week this little pub is a nice place to visit if you're in the greater Cincinnati area. I will definitely be back on my next visit.

Burger Quest - Cock n Bull

    Burger: 3
Average, cooked on a griddle, seemed pre-formed. not a lot of flavor. cooked as ordered

    Bun: 2.5
    kroger sesame bun

    Toppings: 4
got the 3B burger which made all the difference. good bacon, lettuce, tomato, red onion, bleu cheese dressing, bbq sauce. tomato was cut very thick, which i didnt like so much but other people may.

    Accoutrements: 5
excellent fries, homemade chips with bbq sauce, homemade cole slaw. these are all great and you can't go wrong ordering any of them

    Atmosphere: 4.5
This is my favorite place to eat outside. sit under some shady trees along the side or out front. the people watching is great and it has a cool vibe. the inside is a cozy wooden british pub which excellent in the winter. this place also has the very best beer selection in town on tap. it loses a half point because of all the motorcycles that were revving at the stoplight as we were eating.

    Overall: 3.8
just above average overall, and admittedly this one was a personal favorite that i put in there. the little things are what make the cock and bull a great place, not necessarily the burgers. its worth going to for beers, bacon and burgers, in that order. the burger is worth getting but its not the end of the world if you rock fish and chips or a pulled pork sandwich instead (which are both excellent). Plus you can bring your dog if you plan on sitting outside, and the staff will bring you a dish of water for your pal to drink from, which is awesome.

Cock & Bull is in the Main Strasse Village area of Covington. Since we tend to head down that way in the warmer months, I have only eaten outside, although there are inside tables.

My favorite dishes include the fish and chips, salads and burgers. I recently tried the turkey pinwheels (a turkey wrap sliced into pinwheels) served with some flavored mayonnaise for dipping and the mac and cheese for a side. Both were very good!  I'd probably request some other sauce or dressing for dipping next time, though.

Of course they have a good selection of beers and other beverages. The prices are reasonable, the portions are generous, and the service has always been attentive.

    Great place for people watching!

This Americanized version of a British pub may not be very authentic, but I find it's one of the more fun bars in MainStrasse. Sure, it's packed every Friday and Saturday night with college kids, but I think this crowd is a bit more relaxed than Pachinkos or Cosmo's.

Cock and Bull has some great domestics (DogFish Head, Great Lakes) and imports (Stella Artois, Smithwick's) on draught, as well as an extensive list of bottled beer. As for their food offerings, standard burgers and pub grub. The fish and chips are the only British Isles cuisine available.

Cock and Bull is excellent place to celebrate St. Patty's Day. If you're truly hard-core, you can start drinking here around 7 am, enjoy a feast of kegs-and-eggs, and then earn a T-shirt and your name on a plaque for the effort. I've actually have had friends (you know who you are), who have opened and closed Cock and Bull on St. Patty's Day. I think that deserves a little more than a T-shirt!
