I recently had an event there and I had so many problems with the management staff.  When I went to book, I feel like they were just looking for my deposit check. As soon as I coughed that up, I was ushered out of the building.  There was no explaination of "how we do things here"; nothing.  After I booked, I feared the room was going to be too small. I called and spoke with George who told me this was no problem and the room would be fine for our possible overflow.  I recieved another phone call for our buffet selection.  I asked if maybe we could do a variation of what was offered, and this was NOT recieved well.  Then, two weeks before the event, I was told by Louie that this room would not be adequate.  Then a nice woman named Cindy offered to do some changing around for us.  She was the most helpful employee they I had contact with.  Then a day or so before the event, I called to ask if we could change our napkin color. No one called me back. When I arrived, of course the color had not been changed and the only explanation I was given by Antonio, another manager,  was that they don't check their messages. This is after he awkwardly scolded one of his waitstaff in front of me for offering to change the color for us.
The party turned out to be really great.  The waitstaff there are so pleasant and helpful, and the food was actually very good.  If you were planning on bookign a party, I would deal with Cindy. I suppose this is my only bit of advice.  I have been to so many catering halls, where they are so helpful and catering to your needs.  After spending thousands of dollars, you would expect things would have gone a bit more smoothly.  I know a few people that held events at Galloping Hill Inn and did not run into these problems, so maybe it was just our bad luck.  However,  our company will try another place for our holiday party next year. Good Luck!

I attended a work function here with over 200 people. It was well organized, clean and the food was good (for banquet food).

Only downside is that the parking lot was not up to 200 people - needed to park in the street.

I had a border print picture to put up and they told me the stand for it was first cone first serve ?? Horrible back of the house. Booked a party for my sister's sweet sixteen. We were suppose to be charged half price for the kids that are under the age of 12. It was a signed contract. My father went to galloping hill inn to pay in full but forgot to mention the eight kids  out of 120 that was part of the party. I called the day after to make a correction. I asked not for a refund but for them to put the credit towards the bill for the beverage which we paid 5 dollar per pitcher for soda. When I came upstairs i had to wait about 40 minutes before I was helped. Then the woman Michelle told me that there was no way someone would agree to that. (Her boss was sitting down listening to us ) and that she would never agree to such thing and because she was the only woman that works there. So I respond with 'I must of been talking to a crazy person' I know it was her and she didn't want  to get in trouble with her boss. Let me tell you something about Filipino families we throw parties like no ones business and I have a big family and I will make sure no one I know will ever go there ever again. oh the one star I would give is to the older waiter that was very polite and tried to help me.

My daughter had her Wedding reception here a few years ago. Don't get it mixed up with the Galloping Hill hot dog place next to it. ( I would assume the same owners) the place is beautiful and the food was delicious.

Very bad experience with the banquet sales staff - they are incompetent and liars. On Sautrday, we discussed with Michelle having our daughter's bat mitzvah at Galloping Hills. She did not have a clue as to how to plan the meals. She told us repeatedly that our date was available. We said that we would come back this week and were told that the date would be held. When we came back on Tuesday, someone else in the office said the date was taken and that dates are not held without a deposit. We were told that she made a mistake. There were no apologies given.

Galloping Hill Caterers is located behind Galloping Hill In, at Union's Five Points.  I suspect that it wouldn't be possible to live in, or near, Union without being invited to at least one party at Galloping Hill Caterers.  This is a large operation which often hosts multiple events simultaneously, and your experiences and impressions of both food and decor may vary widely, depending upon the options selected by your host.  What appears to be the main reception area is ornately designed elegance; attractive, but just a little over the top.  Other areas are more "VFW hall" in appearance; functional, rather than fancy, and adequate for my tastes.  The food also offers many choices, and I've never eaten anything illness-inducing or bad here.  The high end offers very tasty, but unspectacular, renditions of Continental and American steam table favorites.  While hardly fine dining, I'll truthfully state that I've always liked the food; predictable, with the added touches needed to make it interesting.  Generally, a dignified and pleasant local institution.

I came here, briefly, for a wedding reception. This place has beautiful decor, ample parking, big bathrooms and a decent size reception hall. I didn't stay long to try the food but it looked good. Very nice.

I've been to a couple of family parties here.  The food is so-so and they're stingy with the meat portions.  There are usually multiple parties going on, so the lobby and bathroom can get crowded.  Also, I noticed there was paint chipping off of the chairs.  Otherwise, both occasions were enjoyable experiences, but I personally wouldn't have a party here because I love good food.

I had my wedding reception there and EVERYONE kept telling me afterwards about how great the food was. I loved everything about the place, except for in the bridal suite the food was coming up not so hot, but the cocktail hour for everyone else was awesome.
I'd definitely recommend it, and my sister even had her wedding there because she and everyone else kept raving about it.

The decor here is very nice, and the service is also very friendly and easy going as well. I would have given this place an extra star but had some trouble cutting through my meat. Kind of a tight space when two parties are going on at once.
