Sometimes, I feel like Hatsu Hana is really really on --- and when that happens (like it did last time I went), this is a solid 5-start restaurant for me. Â Other times, I feel like they are more of a 3 or 4 star restaurant because the fish doesn't seem as fresh. I would recommend sitting at the bar and asking the chef what is his best fish tonight. He's kind of quiet but a super nice guy. And he seems to take a lot of care in making each sushi piece / roll.
By far, it's better than any of the other sushi joints in the neighborhood.
