Holy cow, this is a dive. But I'm giving it three stars for the varied after work crowd that it seems to draw in. I'm also a bit surprised there aren't a slew of reviews with something like, "OMG RYAN GOSLING WAS HERE!"

I went here after a daytime Reds game, but it is just far enough from GABP that I don't think it gets an after game rush (Bengals games are probably a totally different story).

They offer your typical beer selection of domestic drafts and bottles with a few local choices thrown in the mix. Prices are cheap given the real estate.

Fun fact, those cool light fixtures around the bar were installed for a movie filming and were just left there.

My place to start before Bengals game! Fun games and game time atmosphere. Thanks Pete!

Wow. Perfect dive to crawl into right after a Bengals game. The crowd was raucous and VERY friendly. The bartenders were drop-dead gorgeous. Drinks were nothing special, but that's not why you venture to this establishment. You go to unleash your inner id, pure and simple. Absolute mayhem! LoL

I've been coming to Head First for quite a few years now as it's literally a stone's throw from my office.  I have seen how it has operated in the past, and as the other two Yelpers point out, yes, there were in fact ladies undergarments that hung from the ceiling.  One of my office mates even refused to go there years ago because of this fact and that he was worried about what would fall off said garments into his food.  That being said, for better or for worst, I haven't seen panties in there in 3 years.

In recent years there has been a new owner who seems to be putting a bit more effort into making it a nicer spot.  The food is your typical bar food fare with a daily special for the lunch time crowd (my favorite would be the Meat loaf).  They have been playing around with some new items as of late, but it's still typical.  I'd love to see them offer better (healthier) food, but I know what to expect when I get there.  Also, they have free peanuts, which is first class in my book.

Head First is certainly one of Cincy's best stops to hit up on the way to or from a game.  Grab some free peanuts and a beer (They're cheaper on the outside) and then mosey on over to the stadium.  You won't find a nicer staff, and did I mention free peanuts?

I've heard tales of the "OLD Head First," where, as the previous reviewer mentions, there were bras hanging from the ceiling. It's definitely come a long way since then.

Head First was a go-to lunch spot for me when I worked on Plum Street. I highly recommend "Meatloaf Wednesdays"-- the meatloaf is spectacular, though the sides leave much to be desired (come on, it's a bar). The rest of the daily specials are actually much better than you might expect to find in a sports bar.

As I said, a great spot for lunch, though I'd avoid it for a working lunch. The TVs are always on Sports Center and they're LOUD. Great for a casual lunch or drinks after work... not so much for taking out clients.

Right across from Paul Brown Stadium, Head First has cleaned up their act. You will no longer find cheap, dusty bras hanging from the ceiling. These days it's a favorite spot for after work drinks downtown with a game of pool or a $4 Red Bull.

Head First has a decent lunch menu with specials every day of the week. I used to smell bacon while parking my bike but usually stuck with the mac and cheese. Seating for larger groups isn't good but it's less an eatery than the perfect place to watch the game. They host live music events and offer some pretty good drink specials, they also fill up pretty quickly on good game days. I've heard Marvin Lewis can occasionally be spotted stopping in.
