We went to Lucky Pie last night for dinner and it was a great decision! We went during Happy Hour (4pm - 6pm) which I highly recommend. The drink prices and apps are really cheap and delicious.  The peanut brittle and bacon is amazing and the fried olives were unique and yummy. We tried the Wild Mushroom pizza and the Popeye pizza with bacon added.  They were both really good pizzas and everyone ate both of them. Our waiter, Kristopher was funny and personal with us which made the experience great.  The actual restaurant is decorated very nice and they have a bar/lounge area or a dining area depending on your mood.

Delicious!  Went with a group of colleagues at lunch, there were 5 of us.  We ordered a bunch of small plate snacks to start - the cheese curds, the vegetable spread, the kale chips, the minute mozz, and the bacon peanut brittle - all were delightful.  Then we ordered two pizzas - the Popey, and the the wild Mushroom - both were so good, although the Popey was the favorite of the group.  All that food - we had slices left over, and we only spent about $55.  Great deal, we left very satisfied.

First of all, everything I had here was delicious. I wish I could give 6 stars.

We were seated immediately, our server was at our table very quickly and was very thorough in explaining the menu to me and in offering suggestions for drinks.  Possibly the friendliest waitstaff I've ever had.  I also liked the ambiance of the restaurant.

The food menu is two pages I think, and I really would have like to have tried... at least half of the things on the menu.  Next Time. :)   We weren't extremely hungry, so my friend and I decided to split the prosciutto pizza.  It was definitely big enough for two (we had several pieces left over).  It was absolutely delicious.  As much as I want to try ALL of the other pizzas, I don't know how I would be able to skip this next time.

I also had to try a charcuterie plate. I believe I had the napolitana meat, along with smoked mozzarella, and marinated olives.  I am an olive snob: they were good.  The napolitana was good, but I would have liked it to be a little spicier.  The smoked mozzarella was heavenly.  Like... two weeks later, my mouth is still watering when I think of it.  I'm checking flight prices to see when I can come back for more.  You get the picture.

For all the delicious options on the food menu, the drink menu is insane.  So many pages of beers. It was really tough to choose.  Our waitress offered a recommendation and I was really happy with the choice.

I've recently been here twice and both times my experience was right on. From entering the restaurant, being nicely greeted and seated quickly to the friendly and knowledgeble wait staff and everyone else, superb service!

The pizza is absolutely delicious! I've had the prosciutto pie and the wild mushroom pie, both have incredible flavor combinations. The wild mushroom was really impressive with carmelized onions, a creamy cow cheese similar to brie and KALE! Who'd a thunk it? Kale. The crust is very thin the way I like it.

Now for the beer, I'm not a connoisseur, so it would not be fair for me to say, however, I told our server that I like Stella beer, so she brought me 4 samples to choose from, very nice. The first time I visited I brought a friend that does know his beer and he was very pleased with his selection.

Both times I have come I brought out of town guests and was very happy to have great experiences and not feel like I had to apologize for anything.

Does Denver really need another pizza joint claiming to have wood-fired pizzas in an out-of-the-box design concept?  Well, depending on your palate, you might say yes but with so much competition in the market, I was surprised that Lucky Pie Pizza would come to Denver to duke it out with big hitters like Wazee Supper Club, Wazee Wood Fired Pizza and Marco's Coal Fired.  However, the establishment, taking up real estate on the busy 16th Street Mall for nearly a year now.

The space is swanky for a pizza joint without feeling pretentious; red accents, an inviting modern lounge and Edison light bulbs adorning simple fixtures all around the dining space set the scene.  We decided to sit inside as our visit to Lucky Pie was on a 90-degree day but we quickly realized that the restaurant was barely cooler than the outdoors.  At one point we even asked if the air conditioning was in-fact on and when our server went to ask, we never heard back with a response.  Needless to say, this was the biggest misstep but one that I could not overlook throughout the entire meal.

Lucky Pie must have luck on their side, as the food and drink made up for the muggy temperatures.  The restaurant has a robust snack menu including the addictive Fried Squeaky Curds (glorified cheese curds).  I am a huge sucker for fresh mozzarella so an order of the smoked moz and of the stracciatella (torn moz mixed with fresh cream) was quickly ordered as well.  I found the smoked moz to be extremely potent which was almost over powering to the delicate texture that mozzarella is known for.  However, the stracciatella was right up my alley with a creamy, light and just under salted taste.  We paired them with the fig gastrique which was a hit all on its own.  I feel like the gastrique could be put on nearly everything on Lucky Pie's menu to add a rich, sweet flavor.

The standout of our meal was the Meat Lover pizza, topped with thinly sliced peperoni, peppery capicola, salami genoa, slightly-spicy calabrian peppers and the mecca of a stellar pizza sauce, san marzano tomatoes.  The pizza had great flavors, a good crunch and was quickly consumed with little conversation between bites.  The Popeye was a lighter version to the pizza menu with fresh summer spinach, fontina, mozzarella, grana podano, pecorino, olive oil and the most delicious roasted garlic that brought a sweet and buttery taste to every bite.  I would maybe try one of the other pizzas next time instead of the Popeye but it was nice balance to the heavier Meat Lover.

I am a huge pizza lover and with so many options in Denver it may be hard to get Lucky Pie into my repertoire

Let me start by saying, "Cheese Curds, Cheese Curds, Cheese Curds!!!" Little pieces of fried, salty, cheesy heaven I just can't get enough of... They come in a little brown paper bag that soak up the extra grease and you literally just want to shove them in your mouth... SOOO delicious! Just don't think about calories, your hips or butt while eating them... Cheese curds not your thing? They have wonderful pizzas - they make their own mozzarella, salumi, salads, and surprising appetizers - like bone marrow, braised lamb meatballs, and crispy pig ears. They also have bunny pot pie, braised oxtail, and fried chicken, if you're not into pizza. Their beer and menu will please the snobbiest connoisseurs. And once you're done with the savory... Have the infamous Jameson's butterscotch sea salt caramel pudding - there is no other choice, period.

PS - Christy is the best waitress ever! And a fountain of knowledge regarding food, beer, and all things Texas. We love her!

I go here pretty frequently, for 2 reasons.

1.) Great selection of craft beer on tap.
    2.) The cheese boards!

I actually don't love their pizza; it's good but not great. But the beer and the fresh cheese are enough to keep me going back.  My favorite is simply the fresh mozzarella with grilled bread, with a side of balsamic vinegar.  It's the perfect snack.  They have great ricotta as well.  Service can be hit or miss, though there are a few people who consistently provide top-notch service. And they have one of the best patios downtown.

I really enjoyed our visit here.  The beer selection is well thought out, and the homemade smoked mozzarella was delicious.

Our server was attentive and the overall ambiance was really cozy.  I was having trouble deciding which beer to get and my server offered up some suggestions and tasters. Loved her.  That made my decision a lot easier.

It was a bit cold getting a table close to the front, but that is to be expected.  Once the pizza arrived I didn't even care about how cold it was.  Amazing.

I highly recommend checking this place out.

Stopped in on a cold Friday night. Wait for the table in the dining room was about 20 minutes, so we took a two top in the waiting area. It was a fine table and the service seemed as good there as anywhere else in the restaurant.

Ambience - the place has a cool vibe. It's a little more upscale than I was expecting (I was thinking more laid back bar feel), but not so upscale that I felt uncomfortable in my walking around clothes and snow boots. The space has been well used and the decor is nice. It's not too loud and it's easy to have a conversation.

Service - we were well taken care of. We were greeted and sat promptly and our server was friendly and attentive. I had to send one of my beers back and she took care of it right away.

Food/drink - There's an extensive draft beer menu (one of the best ones we had while visiting Denver). The prices for beers are maybe a little higher than I paid in other places but the selection and quality are hard to beat. There's going to be something you'll like.

The pizza was a little underwhelming. We didn't get too adventurous in our ordering, so there's a good chance that some of the specialty pies offer something more special. The size is a little smaller than I would have expected for the price. My wife and I usually share meals so we're not looking for huge portions, but even this left us wanting a little more.

Value - as mentioned, the prices are perhaps just a little higher than I would have expected. It wasn't a bad deal, but not the best value in town.

Overall - I would visit again, but if I lived in Denver it probably wouldn't be at the top of my go-to pizza joints.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.  Came here for a few beers before the Nugets game.  They are good with samples if you do not know what you are in the mood for or split between a few beers.

Excellent with offering samples. The happy hour is from 5-6, one beer is $3 and then they have cans of Olympia for $2. The happy hour food menue is also good, we had baked kale (slightly on the salty side) and fried cheese curds (mmmm) - $3/each.

It is slightly on the expensive side, but I believe it was a value for what you get. I would rate this a 5 if it was slightly less money - but you are in down town Denver.  I would like to give it a 4.5.

A really good place, I would go back to on Friday nights. Knowledgable staff.

I didn't get a chance to order the pizza but I did have the grilled artichoke and some of the kale chips.  They were really delicious.

They have a nice patio where you can enjoy the sunshine.  Convent to get to them off the Mall Shuttle.  I was visiting Denver and would definitely go back if I lived there.

This is one of the first places that I discovered when I moved to Denver. I love pizza, and Lucky Pie- while expensive- definitely makes a great pie.

The service has always been very friendly. The cheese curds are amazing. I mean, what more can one ask for in a restaurant? (Are my Midwestern roots betraying me yet?)

In St. Louis, we have Dewey's pizza, which is mediocre at best. I feel like Lucky Pie is what Dewey's pizza is trying to be. It somehow manages to be both upscale and laid back. The atmosphere is a lot of fun.

I've stopped into Lucky Pie a few times and have always been impressed with their service and food.  If you're downtown, the location is prime.  It's right on 16th so it's easy to find and get to.

The ambiance of Lucky Pie is tap room meets upper scale pizza joint.  They have your run of the mill pizzas but they also have stuff you won't find in too many other places.  The southwest and puttenesca are my two favorites.  The southwest has a little kick to it while the capers on the puttenesca provide a unique taste.  Really you can't go wrong with any of their pizza.  The cheese curds are damn tasty too, but who doesn't like fried cheese right?

As a beer lover I was not let down either.  They carry plenty of craft beer on tap from Colorado and all other the US.  They seem to have a nice selection of IPAs whenever I'm in there.  Bottom line, this place is worth checking out and adding to your rotation.  The pizza is great and the beer selection does not suck!

I thought I had tasted all the ways to do pizza from Italy to Hoboken but my own home town (LoDo location) has won me over.  Don't get me wrong, New Jersey pizza is in it's own class but when you want to experiment with new taste sensations, try Lucky Pie.  Thin crust, no huge slabs of gooey crust or over-topped toppings.  We also had the mussels that were very tasty and will have on next visit.  I had the Cheech pizza--fab.  Server Christy was informative, friendly, and generally spot-on with recommendations.  Excellent wine list to accompany the food and quality local microbrews round out a very competent menu.  Great value for the money and nice clean but not overly trendy or hipster interior--solid.

I kind of feel like the Philadelphia of the West is Denver.  I vibe so well here and could easily make this my permanent digs.  This place would fit right in.  Without mentioning proper names, the beer and pizza theme would pretty much sum up my time spent in Philadelphia.  In other words, this would be my go to hang out.  The spot to chill, to come to after work, and to enjoy my surroundings with some cool folk.

Great beer selection and good service, but I don't get why people freak about the pizza here. It's a nobel attempt to source locally, and the ingredients seem fresh, but the topping combinations often seem forced, and many are over-oiled. The crust is thin and charred, creating a bitterness that deserves to be rounded out by a better, less bland, dough recipe.

The verdict: I've been here numerous times with friends, and here's why: great beer, atmosphere and tasty apps. Give the pizza a shot, but don't expect to be wowed.

I just stopped in for a quick beer.... so this review just covers a round.

LP has a very good selection of draught beer.  The food looked good too.... but I just ate at another place before heading here.  The menu was full of options that I would regularly go for.

The service was friendly.... pretty much uniform with all of the service I received while in Denver.  The decor was pretty cool.  Not overdone.... which is what I like.

    Recommend!!

I liked it fine, but I definitely didn't love it.  I had the pepperoni pizza, usually my favorite pizza.  It was fine, but nothing special, certainly not the best pepperoni pizza I have ever had.  I will try something different next time.  One of my friends raved about her fried chicken sandwich and creamed corn.  Maybe I'll try that next time!

I am having a love affair with pizza right now, and Denver is doing such a great job enabling said affair.  Lucky Pie is definitely in my top 5 and is in frequent rotation to satisfy my hunger.  Why do I love this place so much?  Let me count the ways....

    1.  Mozzarella bar- they have 4 different kinds and all served with sliced grilled bread and arugula... my fav is the Smoked Mozz.  They also have a variety of add-ons including marinated olives, sea salt almonds, tapenades, etc. to compliment the cheese.  I usually go with the aged balsamic vinegar.  Perfection!

    2.  Fried Squeaky Curds- 'nuff said.

    3.  Lamb meatballs- stuffed with mozzarella, topped with marinara.  So flavorful and tender,

    4.  Beers- their tap selection is quite impressive, that I'm sure everyone can find something they will enjoy.  I also like that they rotate their beers, so I can always find a new brew to try.

    5.  (Last but not least) PIZZA (duh)- the crust is perfect... not too thin/not too thick, and made with organic Colorado flour.  I've tried 5 or 6 of their pies, and loved them all.  My all time favorite has to be the Napolitana, w/ spicy salami, calabrian chiles, roasted garlic, smoked mozzarella, and san marzano tomato sauce.  They used to have a brussels sprouts/pistachio pie that was a close second, but sadly, it is no longer on their menu.  *sniffle*.  But I look forward to trying some of their new creations.

I've always had great service here, and even had my birthday celebration in their front lounge (with no booking fee!).  I love this place so much, that I'm willing to share them with you, so it can be added to YOUR pizza love affair rotation.  Trust me...you won't be sorry.

Very hip looking place, right on 16th & Blake makes it a breeze to get to from the free 16th street shuttle bus. Crazy good beer selection, very comfortable place, staff really hustles. Pizza was good, not great, but good, all of them were solid. We ate here twice during GABF week mostly due to its great location and it's fast. Sausage was good, Mozz was better, the Mushroom was the least impressive. Seems that if their ovens were hotter, they would get a better crust going. Marco's has them beat on the pies, they have Marco's beat on the location and the beer list.

Take the 16th st shuttle to Market and go down one block on the far left. Enjoy!

    Bacon Peanut Brittle.

So, now that I have your attention :) This place is just great. They have a wonderful patio for hanging out on a Sunday afternoon, people watching while enjoying some snacks and frosty brews.

Tons of great craft beers both on tap and in bottles! It was quite difficult to make a choice, actually. Plus, they will let you sample a beer on draft, if you're not ready to commit to a pint just based on the name.

The cheese curds are pretty good. I love that they have Marcona Almonds! But, the show stealer was the Bacon Peanut Brittle. It put all other Peanut Brittles to shame. Fantastic!

Loved it. Will definitely be back.

We met some friends here for dinner (don't trust the Apple Map App to get you here right now!) and started with some appetizers:

Cheese curds - very tasty and I would order these again.
Lamb meatballs in marinara - pretty decent. they were a little cold, but had a good flavor and the marinara was great for dipping the cheese curds into.
Peanut & bacon brittle - pretty decent, not too sweet (and still affordable until the "pork-pocalypse" next year!)

For our mains my wife and I shared their margarita pizza (just mozz, basil & tomato sauce) - it has another name on their menu, but it was a margarita.  Our friends ordered the Popeye (no tomato, just garlic, cheese and spinach).

Our pizza really wasn't good, I am not sure if it was overcooked (they crust wasn't burnt or anything) but the top of our pizza was totally orange and had little flavor, it honestly was like a bad store bought frozen pizza.

Our friends pizza was much much better and I really enjoyed the slice they let me try.

I would probably eat here again, they have a very extensive beer list (many of them local) and perhaps they have other good pizzas to try?

For sure try the cheese curds.

Our meal here was great, just be cautious not to overload on the cheese on a Friday night like we did, or you'll be hurtin' all weekend.

We had a big group with a reservation, but the restaurant wasn't too, too busy for a Friday night.  Parking in this area is balls, so ride your bike if you can.

The menu has so many great options, it was hard to decide on appetizers.  The mozzarella bar choices sold me, with four choices of either plain fresh mozz, smoked, ricotta, or the creamy, mixed kind (like a slightly mixed burrata).  All are made in house.  We got all four for the table to share and it comes with all the grilled bread you need.  Also delicious were the fried cheese curds and salted Marcona almonds.  At this point, I'm sure you're noticing a theme (save for the almonds).

The boyfriend and I shared a Popeye pie (spinach) but pretty soon our table began swapping slices as everyone was digging on what they were eating so much, they wanted to share!  As a result, I got a slice of Kristen N's margarita style pizza (had a different name) and it was solid.  The pizzas were much bigger than I originally anticipated and had a nice crisp on the outer crust while managing to be chewy (but not soggy) all the way through.

We all know pizza's lifemate is beer and Lucky Pie has a great selection.  I had the Dank IPA from Dad and Dude's and it was a great, grapefruity representation.  I also had a Rogue Oregasmic which I already know I like.

Service was great as our server handled our large group with ease and was very knowledgable.

I think next time though, I'm going to only do one form of cheese.  I didn't know one could OD on cheese but I was wrong.

Wow.  The food here is so original.  So tasty.  So yummy.

We had the Kale Chips, the Mozerella Bar, and a Margarira Pizza.  The Mozerella Bar allows you to build your own appetizer combo from a bunch of modern Italian ingredients.  Really cool concept.  The Kale Chips were to die for, and the pizza was solidly authentic modern Italian.  They use imported San Marzano tomatoes for the sauce.  We could definitely taste that.

27 beers on tap - that's what I'm talking about.  They've carefully selected some great local craft beers, and they have some exotic international choices.  Theses are all lesser-known (not the standard Fat Tire and Guiness).  We tried 4 different brews, and they were all very good.

    Best Beer Selection in LoDo.
Everything is made in house (crust, cheese everything). It's fresh and love the option to sit outside.
I love how creative they get with normal ingredients.
I would move to Denver just to sit and munch on their pizza everyday...

    Here's what's good:
From the Mozzarella bar - Stracciatella (it's dreamy)
Cheech (for your basic pie, the smoked mozz makes all the difference)
Fried Chicken (oh yes, at a pizza joint)

YUMMY!!!!!! We have walked by Lucky Pie for the last few months but never stopped in. Last night we gave them a try as there were seats right up at the bar for us to quickly get service.

Our bartender was great with information about specialty beers on tap as well as great recommendations on the menu.  We listened about the Lamb meatballs. No joking around there. These are amazing! The sauce will blow you away.  Our bartender mentioned that a lot of things are grown in house including the tomatoes. Something like that. +1 for that fresh taste.

After those amazing meatballs, (which I might just order 3 of next time) we had to try a pizza. The Wild mushroom pizza with truffle oil was our pick and again, it did not disappoint. Nice crispy thin crust with great flavor.

The beer selection was great. Something for everyone. My suggestion is to stop in and give them a try. This isn't just another pizza place with beer. The food really has a fresh flavor to it.

Ok, I've been back to Lucky Pie several times since my initial review and I'll agree...the cheese curds are friggin awesome! Actually, it's the curds that keep me coming back, well, almost! It appears that they have removed the Duck Confit from the menu so I can't comment on whether or not it's been perfected, I'm guessing not.

The Braised Lamb Meatballs are perfect for sharing with a friend or two or if you're smart you won't share them at all!  I've tried just about every pie on their menu but the standouts are the Southwest and the Wild Mushroom...I'm hungry just thinking about my experiences at LP so I think I'll stop typing!!!

If you are an arugula lover, then this is the place for you! No joke, the pizzas are covered in it...at least the ones we ordered when I was there for lunch the other day were (the Proscuitto and and Wild Mushroom). Aside from the overload of arugula, the pizzas were pretty good. However, it was the gazpacho 'soup of the day' that earned my 4-star rating. I don't even like gazpacho, and I inhaled it. I also inhaled three Lucky Lemonades, which were equally delicious.

The service was great and so was the atmosphere. I'll definitely be back to check out the nightlife - I imagine the bar will do pretty well!

I had some amazing food here! We got there right at 6 and they gave us a happy hour menu but then took it away, which was funny. The prices were decent regardless though. We got cheese curds, lamb meatballs (best ever), kale chips, salami, and mozzarella. That was plenty for two people.

Our server was nice and eccentric in a way I couldn't figure out was real or fake. Probably somewhere in between. She did something really nice - I ordered a sangria and didn't like it, but I don't know enough about what sangria should taste like to have the guts to send it back. But someone else complained, and so she came to check and see if I liked it and if not, I could get something else. I thought that was really cool. I said I didn't like it and so they made me a "Ginger Germain" which was fantastic.

Overall a very cool place with great food, drinks, and service. Highly recommended.

    2.5 Stars

I made 2 recent visits, once for Happy Hour and once for lunch.

The HH Menu was decent, and I might go back for HH, but I would like to see a pizza selection on the HH menu since it is a pizza place and there is a lot of competition for great HH pizza in LODO.

The lunch was a slightly different story.  The day that we ate lunch, my party ordered 2 menu items that premiered on the menu that day.

The first was a new white pizza with marinated zucchini.  It was pretty good.

The second new item, COLD FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH, was not as good.  It is a great idea, but was POORLY EXECUTED.   The sandwich consisted of 3 large pieces of cold chicken on a hoagie roll, but the bite was too big for the mouth.  One of the 3 pieces was INEDIBLE because it was grisly and fatty.  We told the server that 1/3 of the sandwich was inedible and she appreciated the feedback, but offered no compensation for the kitchen error.  This to me was in POOR TASTE -- literally.

I had the Cheech Pizza with smoked mozzarella.  It was great for a slice or two, but I feel that the smoked cheese was a little overwhelming.  Next time, I will order the fresh mozzarella, but first I will have to overcome the poor service response from the kitchen.

Girlfriends and I went here for a going away.  Happy hour ends at 6pm.

    We ordered...
    Mozzarella Bar
Meats (Deviled Ham tasted like pate)
    Crispy Kale Chips
    Mussels
    Meat Lover
    Wild Mushroom

I liked the deviled ham although some did not.  The kale chips were good and the pizzas were crispy.

Fun and laid back atmosphere.  Variety of beers.

    2012 Review #167:
I don't know why I haven't reviewed the original location of this restaurant, but oh well. I came here on my birthday with some friends, and we were greeted almost immediately by a pretty awesome server. She was really energetic and engaging. She realized it was my birthday and offered to give me a birthday shot or drink. I was testing for my next black belt the following morning, so I had to decline. When she heard my explanation, she went to get the rest of the drinks. She came back and told me that she had explained the situation to her manager and that if I came back in I could still get my free drink by mentioning her name. I thought that was a great way to start the evening.

I don't know if the Louisville location has cheese curds (they didn't my last visit) but those are a must-get item here. Yes, they squeak, yes they're delicious. Honestly, though, if you're going to get pizza, it's almost too much cheese to get both. But, too much cheese is not the worst kind of problem to have. For pizza we ordered the Alvin, which has pureed butternut squash as the sauce, with fig compote, goat cheese, and something else I believe. It was really unusual, very sweet, but very tasty. There is not very much cheese on this pizza so it goes well with the cheese curds. We also got a pizza with cheese, peppers, olives, red pepper, etc. and it was very tasty. Both were really great choices.

We sat outside and it was a nice, pleasant experience. When I went to use the restroom, though, I realized how great the interior is, too. There are large tables for big parties/maybe community groups. There were large families there, small groups, people on dates, and everyone looked happy and at home. Prices are about the same as the Louisville location. On first glance the Louisville location might have a better beer selection; they also offer great Sunday/Monday beer/wine and pizza offers at that location, which is worth it. However, the service, decor, and overall vibe here makes it a really great contender for upscale-feeling dining without the stuffiness or absurd prices.

I LOVE this new addition to LoDo!

In another round of work hard/play hard with the company, my coworker and I were in charge of getting food. Being the yelper I am, I talked him into trying something new. Lucky's! Here's the breakdown:

    1. The food was fantastic! I love their modern twist to pizza by incorporating new ingredients and playing around with the sauces [some are oils, some are creams and others red sauce!] My favorite? The Proscuitto pizza...topped with Arugula. I think i can accurately describe it 3 little words= to.die.for.

    2. The staff is beyond friendly and the customer service is amazing! We arrived slightly early for our large to-go order and was offered a FREE beer while we wait [even though they only took 5 minutes longer than they stated!].  They were apologetic about making us wait, but we gladly accepted the beers and sat down to soak in the entire place :)

    3. This place is AWESOME!

We had our latest Yelp Downtown Denver Lunch Club at Lucky Pie this afternoon and it was so good.

Most of us shared two of the pizzas, the Prosciutto, with wild arugula, grana podano, fresh mozzarella and the Ham and Cheese, with black forest ham, fontina, gruyere, pilsner mustard seeds.  Both were awesome!  The Prosciutto was my favorite, the arugula being such a nice contrast to the salty pizza.  But I did really enjoy the Ham and Cheese, too.  The other party member got the Beet Salad, which has wild arugula, candied pecans, first snow goat cheese and white balsamic vinaigrette.  She really liked it.

The server was so nice, attentive and she told us that the philosophy for Lucky Pie is to have as much as possible come from "local, organic and sustainable producers" (that was from their website), which I love.

I can't wait to come back and try their cheeses from the Mozzarella Bar, especially the Stracciatella (torn mozzarella mixed with fresh cream).  Their salumi looks excellent, also.

    Keep it up, Lucky Pie!

We came here for Lacey M's birthday celebration, and the entire experience was fantastic, from the space to the service to the menu!

When the party was booked, they simply reserved the lounge for us, at no cost.  It was a nice big area with comfortable seats, a big table to place our food, and an island to rest our drinks and elbows.  Our server was right there all the time, smiling, happy, helpful and quick to take orders and make suggestions.

My sister and I ordered the Napolita and freakin loved it - flavorful and just the right amount of toppings/cheese/sauce.  And if you want a drink, I highly recommend the sangria there.

The place is spacious, decorative, and everyone was very nice.  I am looking forward to coming back!

I dig this place. Pizza = yum. Good beer = Yum. This place is yum squared.

I was there for a birthday party of like 30 people, so the service was.. well overwhelmed. That said our gal (didn't catch her name) was awesome. She stayed on top of all the open tabs, and didn't (from where I was sitting) seem to mess any of them up.

I'll be back. The meat lovers pizza, and fried Cheese curds are callin' my name

So excited to see a place finally replace the Dixon's location downtown.  It's been an empty whole for much too long.  And along comes Lucky Pie, a farm to table dining experience.

Saw it had opened and the next day I took one of my friends from work there for lunch - totally within walking distance.

Walked right in and got a table at around 11:45.  This may change as the word gets out about this place.  Very large on the inside so hopefully I will still be able to get a table in the future around the same time.

The menu is super fun.  We didn't partake in the mozzarella bar, doesn't mean I won't in the future.  I love the idea.  The menu has some salads, sandwiches, and best of all a very unique take on pizzas.  Did I mention they make their pizza dough in house and very fresh.

We decided on the mushroom pizza with onions and arugula and the duck confit sandwich (my phone didn't like the word confit when uploading the picture and changed it, damn dictionary).

Our waitress was divine.  Everyone can appreciate having a carafe of water left on the table so you don't need to ask for refills and this place does this.  Bonus points right there.  In addition we didn't even get the chance to refill our own glasses because our waitress was always there doing it for us.  Extra gold star for this as well.

We ordered two dishes and let me say that the pizza is big enough to share, especially for lunch.  We ate the duck confit sandwich first with apples and a side of fingerling potato's.  This sandwich was excellent, yummy bread, plentiful with duck and paired perfectly with the apples.  The fingerling potato's were a nice addition instead of fries, I appreciated that.  We also shared the mushroom pizza served with cipollini onions, arugula and truffle oil.  The pizza looked to die for (see picture).  We could only get through two pieces since we filled up on the sandwich.  I can say that the dough is simple and just the right amount of crispiness.  Just enough toppings, not too much.

My one note for the owners is to offer small boxes of some kind, I'm not a fan of wrapping my own pizza to go in aluminum foil with no container to put it in.  I know it's small but it is worth noting.

I can't wait to come back and try the appetizers and other pizza choices.  I could come back a dozen times and still have new dishes to try.  I take this as a challenge.

Great addition to the neighborhood.  Make the trip!

Wow! This place is fabulous. A Mozzarella Bar with homemade cheeses, spicy Italian meats and creative "snacks" are just the beginning. Ever tried fried olives? Ok, sounds crazy, but they are so tasty and addictive. There was a yummy current and pine nut spread that we devoured.  A great selection of salads - I had the beet salad with wild arugula, candied walnuts, tasty goat cheese and a balsamic dressing that was so tasty. And then, shared among the four of us, we had two pizzas: a meat lover special that was spicy enough we didn't need to add crushed peppers. The red pepper pizza was also delicious. And, because my husband couldn't resist, we also ordered the fried chicken. I didn't have any, but he said it was the best fried chicken he has had in ages. And to finish? Fruity Pebbles  pana cotta. Yes, Fruity Pebbles, the cereal. It was quite fun.

They just opened and frankly we couldn't tell. The service was great - the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The quality of the food was incredible. The interiors great - the restaurant is warm and comfortable with a modern aesthetic. We'll definitely be going back...there's so much more to try.
