Thought the food was excellent and a good value. The chef/owner? actually came out and brought my husband a sample of the beef schwerma because it was the last serving left and he thought it might be too dried out, that maybe my husband would want to order something else. Actually it was fine. The gyro must have a pound of meat in it. Look forward to trying everything on the menu.

I thought the decor was pleasant, and it lacked the slightly garish kitsch that seems to crop up in middle eastern restaurants sometimes. Only negative is that the room has only hard surfaces and becomes very noisy very quickly. Service was professional and efficient. Plenty of parking in front or in the lot on the side.

Too bad I only get to Cincinnati once a year at best. MK's decor was simple yet authentic. The music, copper light fixtures, and geometric wall decoration created an authentic ambiance. The server was friendly and helpful. The servings were large, pleasing to the eye, and there was no skimping on pita bread. I ordered the MK salad that was seasoned beautifully. The hummus had a concave filled with olive oil, and was sprinkled with sumac. The sage tea was refreshing, and the desserts are TO DIE FOR! Apparently, the desserts are also made in house. The baklava melted in my mouth, and the complimentary  rice pudding (many thanks!) was inhaled in less than two minutes. Sometimes the best judge of a restaurant is how you feel a few hours later (if you catch my drift). I felt absolutely fantastic. I look forward to my next visit to Mediterranean King!

This is the "new" Jerusalem Cafe that used to be at the corner of McMillan and Clifton. Same owner and menu, new location and name. They make everything fresh. The appetizers are typical middle eastern appetizers, but all are done well, so no complaints there. The pita is better than most pita you can find in the store.
They offer specials each day which give you a nice break from the usual menu, if desired. Although...the specials are pricey, usually at least $12, which is a lot for the area the restaurant is situated in.

I usually go for any of the appetizers (labna, foul, hummus, baba ghanouj) and a gyro or falafel. The falafel is delicious. The gyro is also great and has the option for a spicy sauce that adds a nice kick of heat and flavor. And the prices are great. The salads are also well done.

Another great perk...buffet! I don't like most buffets since it is usually oily indian food. But the buffet here is definitely worth checking out. Fresh food, along with some items NOT on the regular menu.

The owner and staff are aso very friendly, even if a couple of the servers seem like they are new to the type of job (nothing wrong with people gaining experience!)

The food is delicious and deserves five stars.  The decor is cute.  The owner/manager/whatever is rude.  I saw him be nice to one customer (presumably his friend) and go out of his way to be accommodating.  To others who requested a minor adjustment, he told them if they didn't like what was on the menu, they could go elsewhere.  He was pretty nasty to his employees within earshot of me as well.  Great food, but I was uncomfortable and will not go back.  It gets zero stars on that level.

I grew up with Arabic food, and their chicken kabobs are some of the best I have ever had. Good value sandwiches. The platters are way too big for one person. Good hummus. Their rice pudding and mint/ sage tea are my happy place. I am there about once a week.

Went with my family the other night and had a GREAT Mediterranean meal.  The dishes are literally over-flowing with food.  We had 3 full meals from it the following night.  The chicken Shawarma is so well spiced, the chicken kebab is fabulous (my kids devoured it), and the hummous is some of the best ever.

They need to open their shades!  You can't even tell they are open from teh street, they have these decorative shades pulled and you can't see inside.  I would agree that they need some sort of warm floor cover (carpet or darker wood) and perhaps just butcher block paper on the tables.  They clearly spent a ton of money on the decorative walls, but the rest of the place is very blah in comparison.

But the food was great and the service was phenomenal.  Will be back.

I've only been here once, but can't wait to go again!  The good is delicious and plentiful.  So plentiful that had to bring a lot back home and got two more meals out of that!  The falafel is some of the best I've had.  Also loved their hummus and oita bread.  There is an amazing drink there you've got to try, mint lemonade, I think I liked it better than the mango one, it was a bit sweet for me.  Very unique and refreshing.  I had the gyro dish and my husband had beef and chicken shawerma mix.

I loved being able to see into where the magnificent shawerma meats are cooking on the vertical grill.  So cool!  Oh, how could I forget to mention the decor in this place.  Beautifully and tastefully done.  Outstanding!  The walls and the lighting are amazing.  I also love that they have take out available.

If you haven't come in yet, why are you waiting?  If I didn't live so far away, I'd be there several times a week.  I don't remember who waited on me, but they were very patient and helpful in telling me what each food was.  I'm not totally familiar with all ethnic foods so was grateful for that.

Wow, my mouth is watering just thinking about how good this food was while I'm typing this.  must.go.back.soon.

The food here is definitely 4.5 to 5 stars, but the service and atmosphere bring my rating down to a 3. They did just open so they may be trying to work out some kinks, but I agree with a previous reviewer that the atmosphere is lackluster at best. Our waiter was nice enough, but this was probably his first job as a server and he was inattentive and generally unhelpful.

Falafel was delicious, as was the beef sawarma hummus. I would probably get take out next time.

I'm a little confused about reviewing this place! on one hand the food is very good and the portions are generous but on the other hand the atmosphere is so ugly and boring. first the tables and chairs are dull wood looking ( the cheapest you can find at Ikea) they're small and not comfortable at all and they don't even try to cover the tables with some pretty sheets just to give them a better look!! also the way the tables are lined gives you the feeling of a project class room you're either looking towards the road or the kitchen... and one of the most annoying things is that for some reason you can hear all the other costumers conversations and  they can hear yours perhaps it's an echo problem or there's no music around or maybe they had music but no good sound system around the place!!!!
so just to be fair, they opened recently so maybe they're still working on improving the place and we only came here once so I'm hoping the next time we have a better experience.
one last point, all the staff from the chef (who's maybe the owner as well) to the waitresses were all friendly and knowledgeable and this gives me the feeling that they're working to make this place better.

My friends love this place.  Convenient to UC, Clifton and all of Pill Hill.  The mezes are appetizing and the entrees generous.  Ask for the turkish coffee.
