Mt. Adams Bar & Grill

I always forget about this place until I am going to see a show at Playhouse in the Park. They have decent hours so you can grab something late here. The food is really really good! Tried the burger and the chicken sandwich. I also like the atmosphere.

I really like Mount Adam's Bar and Grill. I stop in semi-regularly and the place is bursting character and style. Architecturally, it's genius. It's detail throughout is to a level unseen today and it has an unusual floor plan. But anyway, the bar is great and huge, stocked with whatever, including some house drinks. Food: The grilled cheese is the only thing I ever eat here. It's perfect because they use oil and egg, not butter, the grilled cheese is just so much better that way. The service here is only OK. We always ask to sit in the little hallway lined in windows, and twice we were told we couldn't choose where to sit, even though the restaurant was nearly empty, and we had chosen in the past. But that's okay. Service is slow. It's usually 20 minutes in before we even are offered drinks... but that's part of the allure to me. Mt. Adam's Bar & Grill is slow and relaxed and quiet perfect for a lazy afternoon.

We often eat here before shows at the Playhouse in the Park.  If you get there an hour and a half before showtime and tell your waitress you're seeing the show, they'll get you out on time.  Plus that way you can park up at the Playhouse long before the parking gets tight, walk the block and a half to the restaurant, have dinner, and walk back over...and when you leave the show, your car is right there waiting for you in the Playhouse parking lot.  Love their veggie burger on rye with swiss!
