I don't know about you, but I know I often get parched walking from the Vine Street spots to the Main Street spots. Before Rhinehaus I had to make sure that I wore my camelback filled with locally brewed beer. But now with Rhinehause strategically located so I do not sober up from the trek. So dive into OTR's newest divebar... oh wait another bar just opened, and another one! Rhiehaus is a great addition to the neighborhood!

Great new bar in the heart of OTR!

I love an old brick-and-mortar.  $3 domestic bottles.  The house was busy but you could still find a seat and didn't have to die of claustorphobia like you do everytime you're at Lackman. The service was prompt and friendly, the music was mid-90s awesomeness, and apparently this is a bit of a hockey bar, which is awesome.

I spent the evening singing and watching the Blue Jackets attempt to get into the playoffs for the first time in franchise history while the Red Wings tried to avoid being held out of the playoffs for the first time in a quarter century.

This might be my new go-to in OTR.

Oh how I hate sports bars, usually because is wall to wall TVs, crappy drinks and too many guys.

BUT, then we have Rhinehaus, I was very much against Jack and Aaron opening a sports bar.
Because I was worried it would be just that, and was very skeptical of their idea!

They have sure proved me wrong, this place is absolutely awesome, sure they have a few TVs, but they are placed in a way that does not seem intrusive.

They have tons of beer on tap and also they make very good drinks, not to mention the Jameson shoots are huge!

I have not yet been able to go there and "just stay for a few drinks". Whether that has something to do with me or Rhinehaus, I don't know.

The bartenders all know their stuff, and the wait to get served is rarely very long, even on busy nights!

I don't know why they call it a dive bar, since I find it rather upscale and cool(for a sports bar).

I have heard a few complaints about they don't serve food, but that just mean you don't drink enough!
Drinking on an empty stomach is not only cheaper, but also a good way of dieting!
If you don't like to alco-diet, there is the option of ordering a pizza etc, which they actually encourage you to do.
There is also frequent food trucks parked outside, to help out with the American "must have access to food" way of thinking!

I hope for continued success for Rhinehaus, if you have not been you need to check it out.

If you have any questions about the alco-diet, just come see me, I plan on doing it every Friday!

Speaking honestly - this place is just ok.
There are no frills and very basic seating/amenities.  The beers are relatively cheap and the service is good.

Would I have any problem going back to meet friends or watch a game?  No, none whatsoever.
Is this a destination bar or someplace you tell all of your friends about?  Absolutely not.

I immediately felt comfortable my first time here, which is a nice change of pace from a lot of the other overly-hipstery OTR bars (I like those places too but don't feel as 'at home' there). I actually stumbled across this spot by accident - I was out for a run and ran into someone I knew outside that was on his way in. There's still a lack of singage... I had heard about Rhinehaus before visiting and was able to figure out where I was based on all the TV's showing sports. I sat at the aforementioned awesome community table. Looking forward to coming back and hope they stay around a long time.

Rhinehaus is just what OTR needs. This place definitely has a dive bar feel to it, but with all the tvs in place, you can be sure to watch your favorite game while you're there too.

In terms of the set up and look of the bar, it's pretty awesome. I'm a big fan of the cool bar top, community table in the back, and of course the classic brick walls you see throughout this area.

It's a fun place to grab a beer with your friends, and a great addition to Cincinnati. Only warning I have is that the beers seem to be a tad overpriced. Nothing outrageous, but still a little more than I would have originally expected.

The Rhinehaus is a bar.  A regular, neighborhood bar with enough tvs to tip it towards the sports-bar end of the spectrum.  I wouldn't quite call it a sports bar, because to me, that implies wings and other pub grub, and Rhinehaus doesn't have a kitchen.

Anyway, the really important thing about Rhinehaus is that it is here.  The Vine Street corridor has been screaming for another laid back, non-food serving bar and it finally has it.  Rhinehaus is actually closer to Main Street than to Vine (it's located on 12th, which connects the two business districts) but it is close enough that you could pass time waiting for a table at one of the Vine Street restaurants.  And that's why this place should do well.

Finally, finally, finally. A sports bar in Over the Rhine. One of the few things that have been missing in the area will hopefully set a trend for more of these places to come. Sure, I love sports and because of this I am their main demographic, but I feel like other people would like Rhinehaus even if they weren't sports buffs.

The building is very OTR. Exposed brick everywhere, original brick columns separating the bar area and the communal area, nice woodwork, and TV's EVERYWHERE. At least 12 high quality Samsung flat screens line the walls of Rhinehaus. Any sport you would ever want to watch is going to be playing. Want soccer (or futbol)? They've got it. College basketball? Yup. High Stakes Fight Club? Well, maybe not but I am sure they would be open for anything. What I am saying is they are going to be playing the game or match you want to see. There's also a Golden Tee game in the back, because really, your not a sports bar unless you have a Golfen Tee game.

The employees seemed really cool. The night we went, opening night, it was pretty packed. The bar was full and both areas were popping. We still managed to grab a drink very quickly. This was nice to see because I have a feeling they are going to be crowded a lot.

Rhinehaus offers up a pretty good beer selection, which seems to be par for the course in OTR. There is no shortage of selection if you are looking for a good drink. This is what makes Rhinehaus attractive to those non-sports jocks. It is basically a great OTR bar with sports in the background if you feel so inclined to watch them (I will be).

What makes me give Rhinehaus four stars instead of five is that it feels a little bare. A little bit unfinished? I don't know. There is no artwork, be it sports or local, on the walls, their sign still isn't out, and there are still some cleaning items in the rear hallway. I am certain as time goes on they will develop a certain character which is why I am happy to be able to have a self-proclaimed sports bar so close to me. Because I will be able to watch it as comes into it's own. I will update the review in the future once they get more comfortable.

Words can't describe how happy I am to have a sports bar around me. This is a place I can see myself coming to on my own to simply grab a drink, hang out, and watch a game or two. This is why Rhinehaus is going to be successful and I couldn't be happier.

Rhinehaus is a new Sports Bar that has just opened in OTR. If you weren't looking for it you probably wouldn't know it was there. They don't have a sign yet, but it is a really beautiful historic building that has been rehabbed on 12th St between Main and Walnut.

This place has more of a dive bar feel to me rather than sports bar, although they do have 12 tv's mounted all over the walls. Think: A dressed up version of Miltons. The space is small and quaint. It's really only one big room separated by two exposed brick columns.

The front has the bar and some stools, the back has a great community table and some high tops. I love that they went with the community table. It promotes great conversation and honestly saves tons of room.

The beer selection is solid, both bottled and on draft. I got a Stella and Justin got a Mt. Carmel, both delicious! The staff was very friendly and even though it was packed they got to us quickly. This location is amazing. Right in between the Main Street scene and bustling Vine Street, this is a great place to stop for a brew in between!

I walked into the bar today for a lunch beer and it was very impressive for its first day of operation. Lots of delicious beer on tap and friendly bartenders. Jack is a cool guy who loves soccer and beer, a great combo.
The place is clean, lighted well, and they have many screens playing sports that aren't in-your-face but if you're interested in watching sports they're around.  The building is architecturally intriguing since there is a lot of exposed brick and original wood floors, this is nice to see in places like OTR.
it's a nice change of pace from the few options available in OTR. I would recommend it for a relaxing dress code and hanging out with friends and drinking some good beer.
They don't have a kitchen, so that's something to remember but also Jack was fine with us bringing some take out into the bar with us. will go back often.  looking forward to happy hour menus and the like.
