Strip club prices but no show. $5 beers and $8 shots? Really? Bars are a dime a dozen in KC and you can get a good buzz for half the price that it costs to have a beer at this lackluster bar. R&B is housed in an old and failed gay bar. I still smell the jockstrap that some old leather daddy left in the bathroom. This is not a dive bar nor is it eclectic - $10 bucks gets you 5 songs in their jukebox. Really? You can have a better time and save lots of money by going to the P&L (and I am no fan of the P&L) and get a nice bag of  Bolivian Marching Powder for what they charge you at R&B. You will be robbed. I warned you. You will be robbed. DO NOT GO.  Also - its like 5 guys to 1 girl.

Man oh man,  do I love this bar!

Now, it's not my typical go-to, but I've never just had an OK time here. Rhythm & Booze is has historically always been a blast. It's probably my ideal spot in town to kick back, drink some cheap beer (or Purple Drank!) and play bar games.

When you first walk in, you're suddenly smack in the main "bar" area, where you'll always find a friendly barkeep and usually see a few working class dudes catching a game. I typically start up my tab then immediately bee-line it for the far back room, or Bar Game Heaven.

Two pool tables. Two dart boards. Pinball. Skee-ball. This room is stacked for a good time! Also, there are oodles of board games, if you want to go that route. The dart boards are electronic, which can sometimes be a problem, but these machines are in excellent repair, and they always have plenty of darts. It certainly makes for an easier game, when my PBR-riddled mind is free from the burden of math. What's more, this room is never all that crowded. Sure, I've been here on nights where other groups are sharing the room, but everybody plays well with others.

People tell me they have food, but I wouldn't know. I come here for epic days of Bar Olympics with friends. And it's always well worth the trip.

When I first rated this bar/restaurant, I wrote that I'd add a star, if they added fish tacos to the menu.  Well they have, and the fish tacos are really excellent.  So five stars now, for sure.

Cool place, great service but, the name implies they have live music & they don't.  I'm thinking rhythm + booze = Live Blues!!!

We have visited this place several times in the past year, and each visit has been enjoyable for one reason or another.

We always sit in the bar area, but there are two or three other areas, one with several pool tables. It would be great for a group gathering. Oh, and they have a rockin juke box if you want to play some tunes.

I see by reading the other reviews that certain week nights might attract a crowd I wouldn't appreciate, so I will stay away from $1 tacos and PBR nights. I don't want my bubble of local bar perfection to burst.

R and B is owned by a local couple, and they are usually working the bar. Staff is always professional, helpful, and friendly. The tap selection consists of Boulevard, PBR, Guinness, and Magic Hat #9. Several bottles and a full bar, as well.  Two reasons I would come here even if it were just a mediocre establishment:  they are open till 3 am, and they serve food till close. I have had the burrito (unremarkable), the hot tacos (very very hot, yum!) and what is probably the best guac and chips I have tasted. Ever.

But now I will tell you what I love about this place that makes it unique. You walk in, and you see several West-siders, some yuppies, and people from all ethnicities and persuasions. Do not let  white tees and baggy pants alarm you. And on the flip side, don't be turned off by the middle-aged stiffs at the bar (us).  I have never witnessed any d-baggery here; in fact, if you fit that mold, you would be bored.  Everyone here is  extremely cool, nice, and appropriate. I cannot think of any other place in KC where truly all kinds of people come together and hang out in a mellow environment. We have met so many interesting peeps, and it just gives me a big happyface to walk into Rhythm and Booze to end my Saturday night.

Love Rhythm & Booze! $1 tacos & $1 PBRs on Thursday nights! Fast, friendly service even though they are always busy. I really dig their fried zucchini too :)

As promised I came back to get those fish tacos AT ANY COST!  The cost was it was cheap taco night and I had to opt for the fish tacos instead.  But, it's OK, that just means I'll get to go back again!

According to a very well known Californian, "Fish Tacos are 3 things, a corn tortilla, fish and coleslaw."   Rhythm & Booze has those 3 things plus one...jalapenos.  An extremely simple taco, I can confidently call it good, I really wished there had been some cilantro on it and as a condiment freak, just a little spicy mayo.  But, for the purists, this is your fish taco.

I waited on the back patio once again and it only makes me wish summer would never end.  I'll be back for the Thursday cheap regular tacos.

I'm visiting friends  & family in KC and so I ask what would be a good place to meet up and have some drinks.  Someone suggests Rhythm & Booze and that's how I came across this place.  It was a nice spot, they have pool tables, board games, and ski ball.  Thurs nights it's $1 tacos which I thought were pretty good.  The waitres was polite and kept our drinks coming.  Crould was pretty good considering it was a Thurs night .  Next time I'm in KC I'll have to swing by again.

Thursday night on the Boulevard, this is the place to be! You can't beat $1 Taco's & $1 PBR's, although the PBR's are in small, plastic cups so it's better to order a pint for $2. I was pleasantly surprised to find they had an outdoor patio in the back where I met some friends. Service was pretty quick considering how busy they were. I ordered 3 medium heat Taco's and was happy to find that they make their own shells and use the Parm. cheese along with shredded. I'll be honest, I should've ordered 2 more because they were so good I was still craving them when I was done but I restrained myself. I am craving them right now and I recommend you give them a try....for those of you that really like HOT, try the Diablo Taco's!

It's all about Thursdays at R&B! Nothing beats their dollar tacos and dollar PBRs. They have 5 different sauces ranging from sissy to DIABLO. I myself am a diablo man. Awesome drink/food specials pretty much all week. Love hanging out here. The staff is awesome and Rhythm is my second favorite bartender in town, don't tell him I said that.

Odd hours, I like my bars open for lunch.

My wife and I sat at the bar during a football game and it seemed as though there were mostly regulars and us.

The bartender/owner/manager didn't seem to want to give us the time of day at first but as we drank our share of beers and ate some dinner he definitely warmed up to us.

When I asked what the best thing on the menu was the mgr told me the tacos, hands down. My wife had a burger. I think the burger was better but it seemed like everyone was getting tacos.

The bar is really nicely and creatively finished. It's got its own style.

Again, late hours, lots of regulars, didn't feel welcoming at first but good food and good beer.

Bored and sick of all the other bars in town, we made a stop here.

It almost looks closed from the outside, but once inside it was buzzing.  I was stunned by the cleanliness.  There was even fresh flowers on the bar!  Wha?

We grabbed a high top and ordered up a vodka tonic and a lite beer.  Service is quick and friendly.

Crowd is super mixed.  On any given night you might run into anyone from anywhere.  Another night I drove buy and there were about 10 motorcycles parked out front.

I like that this bar has a low profile.  It really doesn't have a theme, it is just a great midtown location to have a fun and easy drink!

Yes, that's right...5 stars for a bar. Why? Well, friend, let me tell you..  Start with two amazing folks with decades of bar experience in trendy and sometimes not as trendy spaces. Add in the local flavor of SW Blvd and the great food (personal favs the bison burger, Amazing baked potato soup and, duh, the tacos). Sprinkle that with friendly and attentive servers. Add some "patio in the city" coolness and you've got yourself a heck of a reciepe for a great time.

I love this place because it's whatever you want it to be, whenever you want it to be.  You are as comfortable sipping martinis (and Rhythm is the martini God) with co workers as you are kicking back with a draw beer and a burger with a buddy.
If you want some fun, stick around later and Rhythm will show you his pyro tendencies. No, not a flaming Dr. Pepper shot.... Yawn!  This dude blows fire for fun!
I have been here several times and I am NEVER disappointed!  This is a great bar with a great vibe owned by good solid people who love what they do. But don't just take my word for it.... Check it out for yourself. You'll thank me for turning you on to this gem.

Great place to get great drinks and even better food!!  The owner Mark Piatt will serve you up!!  Mark aka Rythm claims that he has the best Taco in town!! His moms very own recipe... They have 4 different levels of heat for their Salsa!  and it's made fresh everyday...  So is this the best Taco in town? can it be? isn't this restaurant right in the heart of SW Blvd?  Try them for yourself and post a review!  One thing that i can tell you is the Buffalo Wrapped Shrimp is the BOMB!!!

Really cool new place at Southwest Blvd and Washington.  Nice pour of Guiness on tap and good beer selection.  They have an interesting twist on standard bar food and while a number of the items are intriguing, I was so impressed with the Mammoth Burger that I haven't tried anything else.  The Mammoth is a 3/4 pound bison burger that is lean and tasty.  It immediately jumps to the top of the list of KC's best burgers.

The menu includes a unique customizable variation on grilled cheese, a monster club sandwich and a double stacked BLT.  A cheeseburger pie rounds out the comfort food and they have a pasta with asparagus and shrimp or chicken for lighter fare.

They also have free air hockey and a pool table.  Best of all, they serve food until 1:30am on Mon-Sat and 12:30am on Sunday.  Sunday's they have $2 domestics and $3 imports.

It's OPEN!!!  down on Southwest Bldv:)  It's been born with a character all it's own...with a  local flavor, and years of culminated experience to be unveiled as the vision of none other:)  Amongst  the Crossroads Art District  and a must see on First Fridays.

    I'm soooo excited!!!
