My first Ruth's Chris experience was definitely not my last! Â My expectations were through the roof because of all I've heard, and somehow they were exceeded. Â The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the ambiance is modern and beautiful, and the good is melt in your mouth delicious. Â I had the bone in cowboy ribeye, which was finished on a sizzling plate with butter. Â You would think the butter would be too much, but it seriously added to the overall flavor and experience. Â The sweet potato casserole was one of the best sides I've ever had...so sweet and decadent. Â Service from Nature was on point...professional and not too stuffy. Â The restaurant was packed on a Tuesday night which was nice to see, and it seemed add though every table around me was loving their meal as well. Â Great experience and can't wait to go back!!!!!
Review Source:GREAT FOOD . . . Subpar service:
The hubs and I went to Ruth Chris this past weekend for a belated Valentine's day celebration. I assumed the place would be packed on a weekend evening but was surprised to find our section only about half full. Thanks to some of the other reviews here, we were able to pick out a great meal. Started with the Osso Bucco ravioli which were incredible and followed those with Caesar and lettuce wedge salads. The veggies in both salads were crisp and fresh, dressing was tangy, and the croutons and ample shavings of cheese were a nice touch. Also enjoyed the filets and the sweet potato casserole during the rest of the meal.
While our food was excellent, I was surprised by the level of service we received. It wasn't terrible, just not what you would expect in a classy restaurant especially given the meal's cost. Dirty plates from one course weren't cleared for 15-20 minutes after we stacked them up, had to flag someone down to get water refilled, the bread basket never showed, and perhaps most annoyingly it took us 45 minutes to get to go boxes and the check after we asked for them. To be fair, our waiter did seem to be trying his best and really seemed like he was running all night long; he even comped our dessert to make up for the long wait. At other nice places in the city, it feels like there's a team of people taking care of you (bussers, runners serving and pouring water, plus the usual great service from the waiter), and here it seems like its all on the server which made for long waits between courses and inattentive service.
If you;re looking for a place to celebrate, I'd consider heading to one of the other great steakhouses in Cinci.
