Alcohol (that you didn't sneak in...*cough cough) in a movie theatre? Cool!
The good: Decent variety of tasty cocktails and dessert-y (ice cream, etc) drinks. Also a  great place to designtate as a meeting point. Arrive early for your movie and have a cold one. Also, you can order food from the bartender and have it delivered to you.
The bad: Price... not the cheapest but then again one doesn't expect "deals" inside a movie theatre.
So, if you're needing something that will help you get through the latest Ryan Gosling movie that you were dragged to, wait til his weepy puppy dog eyes mesmerize your date and stop by MacGuffins and drink deep.
MacGuffins. Yes, you heard it right, MacGuffins! Not McMuffins, or Gruffins, or McLovin, but MacGuffins!
A great addition to the A.M.C Theater at Newport on the Levee. What I originally thought was a separate company turns out to be popping up in a lot of the A.M.C's. Talked with one of the employee's and he said we were one of the first twenty in the U.S. because of our market and I think what he was hinting at was that Cincy/NKYians like to drink!
This little bar is charming and the staff is friendly. Since a popcorn costs an arm and a leg at this theater I figured for a beer I would need to sell some stocks, but a tall draft beer was only $8 bucks. I could barely fit my hands around the cup, and it was way more beer than I could've drank but hey go big or go home on this wild Saturday night right? Anyway, next time you're at the theater stop by and take a look especially since now you can officially say you've been to MacGuffins!
P.S. The name is so clever! Apparently a MacGuffin is a term coined by Alfred Hitchcock in 1939 as: A plot device that motivates the characters and advances the story. Neat!
