The friendliest place I have been in a while.  Great atmosphere for a local pub.  Good tunes from the jukebox and great deals on bar food and reasonably good selection of beer (nothing too obscure).  excellent customer service and a great place to lay back, have a drink and enjoy the locals.  all good.

Nice place near all the action of Newport on the Levee, but not as trendy or expensive. They have a decent selection of liquor although the night I was there, several of the bottles were either empty or almost gone. I was almost charged for a splash of whiskey in a tall glass, not cool. The happy hour specials are decent and run for a long time.

There are some booths as well as regular tables, but I recommend sitting at the bar and chatting with the bartender and other patrons. Unfortunately smoking is allowed inside here so don't expect to come out of here smelling like anything other than an ashtray. Bummer. The jukebox was pumping out some decent country tunes which I appreciated at the time, and I'm not even a fan of that genre.

I'd return if I wanted to grab either a quick bite to eat or a drink and not deal with any of the main bars inside of NotL. There is a small parking lot  right outside, but this tends to fill up in the evening.

If you like your sports bars directly connected to liquor stores (like me) then you'll love the Riverwalk Sports Cafe.

RSC inhabits a space that has been vacant for a while that used to be a Mythos and a sandwich shop, respectively, and I gotta say, once you get inside, it belies the somewhat crappy exterior. Big tinted windows offset the rest of the darkened interior. There are enough TVs to see whats going on no matter what angle you're sitting at, but not so many that it's overkill. The space is small, but if you want a giant cavernous place, just go next door to Arnie's (the WORST) or over to Bar Louie (not much better but at least the food is a step up).

The food is what it is, a bunch of fried junk. Even the pretzels are fried! (which I personally love. Fried soft pretzels are junk food of the highest order.)

All in all RSC is everything you need out of a sports bar. Happy Hour, decent prices, burgers, fries et al, plenty of TVs, close proximity to sporting venues. This is probably where I'll be spending time having a beer before Reds games this summer.
