The waitstaff is super friendly, fast and courteous here. Our table of 4 all had vastly different things (BBQ beef; French dip; bacon chicken ranch; biscuits and gravy) but everything was absolutely delicious, came out quickly, was affordable and had huge portion sizes! We just stumbled upon this place looking for a sandwich, and I'm glad we did! I recommend this place to anyone looking for a good down-home diner!

This is a wonderful little diner, went there the other evening, I had the Hawaiian burger, it was so good! Â My friend had the Snack Shack Burger... (beef patty, ham, bacon, Swiss cheese, Cheddar cheese, and a fried egg). Â We couldn't eat all of the food, it hit the spot. Kathy was our server, she was very nice and knew the history of the place. Â I used to come here as a kid (a long time ago) when it was Dan's Handout Hamburgers, and burgers were 5 for a $1.00, selling them from a small trailer. Â Good times!
Give this place a try if you like good diner food.
Four of us came in for lunch. Â All of us thought the food to be excellent. Â The burgers are super! Â The Franz bun is excellent, meat cooked perfectly, lettuce, tomato and spices are perfect. There are some adventuresome menu items not found elsewhere. Â Â
The restaurant is in an old building with nice interior decor. Â The restrooms are super clean. Â Nice outdoor dining on a patio facing the street. Â The exterior is anything but fancy, but don't let this prevent you from enjoying a meal here.
Went here with my wife not long ago. We used to come here a long time ago when it was Susie's Country Burgers...the best burgers in Eugene. Then, it changed to Steve & Cindy's Country Burgers...also excellent burgers, hardly anything changed with the burgers. Steve & Cindy's moved to the Value-Village shopping center area before it went bye bye and became a taco joint. Well, let me tell you, the burger I had was really durned good. Excellent balance. The bun was toasted just right, the tomatoes were fresh and tasty, and the onions sliced really thinly. American cheese is available, and is what I prefer. I got the half-pound Jumbo, the pictures of which I uploaded. I was in burger heaven for a while...until I finished it...then I slipped softly into burger coma.
Bliss. Such sweet bliss.
I'll be back. But definitely not soon enough.
Possibly the best burgers in town. Is it the shredded lettuce? Thinly sliced fresh onion? I can't figure out what it is exactly. But the burgers are made with love. Period. This place is basically little-known due to its geography, as it's technically in Glenwood, but still on Franklin Blvd. Those who love old school burgers and fries, must try it out. You won't regret it! They also make their own fry sauce and ranch dips...and all you want!! This is an easy 4-star burger joint.
Review Source:I would actually give this place a 4.25... Â haha
This joint is in a random place. Â My friends and I just stumbled upon this place. Â I love finding random and smaller restaurants, especially if they're good! Â
This place definitely has a lot of hearty meals and is perfect for someone looking to full on some mom and pop style food. Â I tried the fried chicken and I was pleasantly surprised. Â The breading wasn't too think like at Papa's Soul Food. Â I really liked that it came with sides. Â The baked beans were delicious!
I definitely will return to try some of their popular burgers.
My go-to place. Â Go to for a hearty meal or a delightfully tasty side. Â Either way, this place is reasonable in terms of price and great on the taste buds. Â I like how the food isn't too much in terms of portion. Â Along the same lines, the food is just right.
This is bbq and country-style food without being too fancy or too much. Â I don't like the idea of comparing the Snack Shack to Papa's, but it has to be done. Â I like the Snack Shack much more because it actually taste good! Â Papa's seems to lack taste. Â Going to the Snack Shack, don't expect southern food transplanted or teleported from the South to Eugene, but just expect some good home-cooked food. Â This is a good place to get a hamburger, some chicken, chili, or meatloaf. Â Burgers run pretty steep, but that's because it's a big burger with fries, but I could see how the burger is a little expensive. Â Either way, I like the food here. Â I usually get the specials.
I call in my order sometimes and they're pretty quick about it. Â The only thing I'd change is hours of operation. Â I wish this place would stay open later. Â Also, this place doesn't serve alcohol -- as of May 2011. Â Hopefully that changes in the future also...
The Snack Shack is FANTASTIC! Â The BEST burger for sure! Â In a previous post, I had said that Jiffy Market has the best burger. Â While Jiffy Market has a great burger, The Snack Shack is indeed the best! Â A quaint, family owned joint, with handmade burgers and all the great fixins. Â How can it get any better than that? Â I hear they have equally fantastic bbq, but I can't get past the burgers to try it.
