As far as dance clubs go, this one is ridiculously fun.
Now, please be aware that to really have fun you have to let loose a little and be okay with under 21s and some ratchet messes. Other than that, this place is actually cool.
There's VIP seating, go go dancers, and a DJ booth. Sometimes, there is live music or a DJ on the patio outside where there's also bars to order drinks from.
The drink prices are pretty steep, but otherwise, this place is a good time.
I have to say i was worried about going to a club that is 18 and over and 21 to drink but i must say overall its actually a pretty good club . they played all types of music i can say i was dancing pretty much the whole night .Let me tell you if Ur a single girl this is buff heaven  from the bouncers there to the guys to the waiters they were looking good . I'm married SO yes i looked but didn't touch  ha ha . the crowds are mixed you have from 18years to the older crowds and let me tell you everyone mingled and had a nice time no dram at the club or anything which was nice .I also enjoyed the outside  it was beautiful the deck was on top of clear water beach you hear the music as you see the stars and boats pass by it was nice  . I had what they call the wave special which was a punch bucket for 12 dollars for up to 4 people . My yummy bucket was filled with lemonade,orangejuice,cocunut rum,pinapple rum and spiced rum it was so yummy and because i was the only drinker  yes i did finish my bucket  lol . Overall i had a blast with my niece and her friends at the club i gotta say
They only bad part was you had to pay a fee under 21 was $15 ,Florida residents $7 and non florida residents  $10 so boo on that note
So I've been here three times and have spent a hefty sum, but really get no love out of this place. IMO, the club is too conservative, especially for one that charges a cover, has no dress code and is 18+. Â It's just a weird place overall. Â You have young military guys and bachelorette parties mixing with all of the retirees and tourists and weird locals, to be quite frank. Â This place is more concerned with keeping shoes off the faux white leather couches than with whether local guests are going to return. Â This place should really loosen up and take care of the customer better.

With the 90's video clips in the background and $1 drinks on Wednesdays, we found ourselves having our own dance party. Â If you go with a good group and you're drunk it's a great place to be.
Wave can be a good choice in Clearwater Beach for nightlife.  There aren't many other places around to have fun, but Shephard's has 3 main venues that offer different kinds of fun.  Wave is 1 of them.  The nightclub of the resort.  The cover was $7, which I don't think is exactly fair because the place wasn't even that full of people.  More people came later, but I think they would make enough money at the bar to justify a no-cover policy.  People have been suffering all day paying these outrageous Clearwater parking prices, at least give them a break on the cover.  What I like about this place is that since you're located in a resort, you'll get all ages and demographics here.  I hate going to specifically a "college" place or specifically and "adults" place.  I think we can all inter-mingle and have a great time together!  The designs of the waves throughout the place really helped the atmosphere.  The blue color gave a "feel-good" vibe to this place.  Of course, being in Pinellas County, it ends at  2 AM.  Andrea, you shouldn't generalize one county's laws to the entire state of Florida. It's like me going to the Catskills in New York and saying, "Hey there are no buildings in the state of New York."  The reason I say that is because I spend alot of time in both Miami and New York and Miami's places stay open even later than New York in alot of cases.  Pinellas County just has a law against serving alcohol past 2 AM.  If you cross the bridge to Tampa, you can stay out till 4 AM.  So, it's not a Florida thing, it is a Clearwater, St Petersburg, and Orlando thing.
Review Source:One of the few late night places to go in CLW, its definitely a place to go if you're just looking for a good time. Â Not too much of a meat market, but there are the predators out there. Â Most of the pple you find here are visitors who are staying out near the beach and dont' want to make the trip to Ybor since their hotel is close by. Â $10 cover which is pricer, but drinks aren't too bad. Â Place has a total 80s vibe w/ the neon "waves" that decorate it.
Review Source:I was here at age 17 and again at 21- both times enjoyed it. Â The atmosphere is just delightful. Â True to its name, there are designs of waves throughout the place- I just love the wave-like wall tables with lights outlining them. Â It's the little things that make it fun. Includes an outdoor area in case you get too hot, as well as an upstairs area with more seating if you need a break for a drink. Â I guess since its Florida, and not NY, they turned the lights on around 145 am... this was the only let down. Â But there are other things to do around there after you leave anyway: tips- afterward go to the beach, drive over to the mini beach, go to IHOP for the cinnamon swirl french toast and a humorous meal with the drunk club-goers, or walk down the main strip. Â One thing I found different about this place was that the club was filled with all ages- 20s to 50s- but it didnt matter. No one was eyeing anyone else up- it doesnt have that typical club competition feel to it. Instead, everyone is there for a good time and it doesnt matter who you are, what you look like, what you're wearing, or how you dance. Â I'd love to go again.
