I live a block west of this place when I am in Cincy, which makes it very convenient. Â The staff are always very friendly and the food is great. Â I enjoy their daily specials and have had many of their breakfast and deli subs, all of which I highly recommend. Â The prices on deli items and beer are very competitive to the big chains. Â Prices on other items are a bit high, but that is the price to have a rather well-stocked grocery located within the central business district. Â I frequent this place as often as possible and have never been disappointed. Â Those of us living in this part of downtown are really lucky to have this gem within steps of us.
Review Source:I love the spinach veggie wrap in this place. So much that I haven't tried out anything else... The wrap is a perfect combination of different veggies without too much of one thing and the spinach wrap itself is just mmmmmm!!
The Cafe barista & deli is very close to where I work so a good place to go when I quickly want to grab a bit but still have a bit of fresh air during my lunch break. It's usually very busy around noon but the service is quick and usually you can find a spot to sit too, although it may not be a table but a spot at the bar looking outside the window.
You get a free bag of chips with anything you order and they have a large choice of ice teas.
It's cheap (4 and a bit for my veggie wrap), quick and delicious, what else do you want? Perhaps a bit more choices of healthy food like the veggie wrap? Most of the store does seem to be chips, soft drinks etc.
Good selection of grocery items offered. Â The prices for grocery items are a bit higher than big chain grocery stores, but that's to be expected for the convenience. Â On the other hand, the deli sandwiches are actually priced competitively and made with large portions of Boars Head brand meats and cheeses. Â One more thing to note, breakfast sandwiches are served all day.
Review Source:I was told, outright, that these are the best chicken fingers in the city. While I may not agree with that, they're still pretty damn good.
This cafe (located right below the giant blue awnings for the Fourth & Plum Apartments, that say in giant letters "FOURTH & PLUM") is a deli and grocery and spot to sit and get work done all rolled up into one.
Walking in, it feels like a little mini-mart. Lots of chips and snacks and soda and beer in front of you. To your left are tables, to the right is a deli section for eating.
I really liked this space. I was greeted by the man working behind the deli when I walked in and we chatted as he was making my food. The staff here is very friendly and helpful to boot.
You can order straight from the deli case and getting something like pasta or potato salad. Or you can order something special from behind, like a deli sandwich or yes, those chicken tenders, which were indeed made fresh and crispy and with delicious white meat. Mmm...
If you're looking for a quick snack or sandwich or to buy yourself some groceries and are near fourth and plum, this is the spot to be.
Downtown's business district has a great assortment of dining during the day, most open really early and close around 3pm. Caffe Barista stays open until 7pm, after most of the business crowd has left. This is one of a handful of grocery options for residents of downtown. The deli makes great sandwiches, offers quiche, pasta salad and deserts and you can find a token assortment of necessitates like laundry detergent, bottles of decent wine, deodorant and tampons at an inflated price if a trip across the river to the Bellevue, Kroger isn't possible.
The soups are pretty good but the daily lunch specials are mostly greasy comfort foods. If you want something from the deli counter and don't want to wait in line for half your lunch break it's a good idea to show up before 11:30am or after 1:30pm. Caffe Barista carried Boars Head meats and has a pretty impressive selection of cheeses as
well. If you're in a hurry they usually have prepared salads, frozen items and a decent selection of snacks. Limited seating is available inside and outside but I usually ordered my food and headed back to work, the people watching isn't that spectacular.
