This is the go-to spot after our United Social Sports games! They have happy hour specials that go until 8pm and sometimes all night long. During these hours the service can get pretty overwhelmed with the influx of people flowing in and out but they are pretty consistent with serving up drinks whenever you need them the most!
The food is not exactly what draws you to this place. It's the typical bar fare with (mostly unsuccessful) attempts at originality with the likes of mac and cheese wedges, not-so-healthy salads, and sandwiches. After a few of their awesome drinks specials, it tastes pretty good.
It's also a fun spot if you want to go to bar that has tons of space (you know, for office parties and such) and has stuff like skeeball, pool tables, darts and that throwback Simpsons arcade game!
I'm a big fan of the Continental- the Continental is EXACTLY what you'd expect. It's a bar with bar food, a decent happy hour, and fine beer selection. No bells and whistles, nothing extraordinary or terrible about the food- it's all fine and does what you need.
At happy hour prices ($3 beers, incl. Starr Hill Northern Lights, half off some type of entree depending on the night), I'm happy with what the Continental has to give.
Went here for a work gathering on a Thursday night. The beers were good and were pretty inexpensive for the DC area. The seating was definitely intended for casual drinks and chatting and NOT for dinner. This place is a great happy hour spot. Not only do the drinks meet or exceed my expectations but there is plenty to keep you busy. Wii, board games, pool etc. - love it! Will definitely make it back when I am in the area.
Review Source:You can find me at Continental on any given day enjoying a pleasant happy hour.
Located conveniently across the street from my workplace, my team frequently decides to go to Continental for drinks, apps, and various games. Â On a most recent trip, we decided to enjoy March Madness and order some appetizers. Â We got the following:
Fried Pickles - enjoyable appetizer with great comeback sauce
Fried Mac 'n Cheese - never had this before; was fantastic. Â Try this with the ranch sauce for sure.
Chicken wings - decent food, good with any happy hour drink
French fries - generic, typical french fries to munch on while you watch co-workers attempt to play pool.
We've always had exceptional service here, and I've enjoyed a few of the raspberry martinis. Â
I give Continental 3 stars for the food but believe the service deserves at least a 3.5/4. Â You'll find me there again :).
As for me, I thought this place was great. Â AWESOME happy hour prices... $3 draft specials on a decent selection of beer, plus $3 rail drinks. Â Plus, happy hour runs from 5-8 or something of that sort, so great hours! Â Service was efficient and not condescending (I never had to wait at the bar more than 1 minute for a drink and the servers were pleasant). Â I can't speak for the food or anything else (since we didn't get any). Â It looked like there was at least one event going on the night that I was there, so the place was pretty full... but we were still able to carry on a conversation.
Review Source:I went to Continental Pool Lounge to join some friends for happy hour on a Thursday night. Â It was my first time going there so finding the place was a little tricky. Â Although it was a short walk from the Rosslyn Metro station with a listed address on Fort Myer Dr., the actual entrance to place was on the backside of the building on N. Moore St. Â Upon entering the bar, my initial impression was that the place was your typical sports bar with pool tables! Â The brightly colored bar/pool hall was large, loud, and packed to the gills with happy hour revelers, mostly in their 20s and 30s, taking advantage of the $3 draft beer specials. Â They had Starr Hill Northern Lights IPA on special, so I was a happy man.
There were multiple pool tables, shuffleboard tables, and other games scattered around the large open room, but the mass of people crowded out the space around the tables making it impossible for those wanting to play a game. Â No worries for me since I wasn't there to shoot stick. Â There were a few servers moving about the room taking food and drink orders, but the large crowd and the insufficient number of servers made it an inefficient process. Â As a result, it was much quicker and easier to go to the main bar for drinks. Â If the size of the happy hour crowd was a true indicator, then Continental Pool Lounge obviously is doing something right. Â While it doesn't offer anything particularly new or different with regards to bars of its type, the beer was cold, the price was right...I couldn't ask for much more.
I'll start with a list of the positives - large bars, expansive bar food menu, good happy hour deals even on Saturdays, attractive decor, free rooftop parking. Now for the more important list of negatives - food is mostly sucky (overly salted, gloppy, fried but not in the good fried way), games are expensive (shuffleboard, skee ball, pool tables), but most horrific of all for a place that promotes itself as a pool hall is that there are no decent cues. The tip on every one of them has worn off. Can't shoot pool with them at all. What a waste of time. So, a good time can be had here if you avoid the food (and that does include the cheese fries which so many other yelpers loved, I thought they were crap) and bring your own cue.
Review Source:I've attend two birthday parties here and this place is as good as it get's for any low key night out.
I love that they have free adjacent parking, although the spaces are pretty tight it's better than finding street parking!
I ordered appetizers like their hand made pretzels and cheese fries. The pretzels were a big hit with my friends but the shining star of the night to me was the cheese fries. It was served hot and gooey, and tasty- reminiscent of outback steakhouse french fries!! MMMM. it was so good that the four of us each ordered one, we just couldn't get enough!
There were probably 40 people in attendance, and we were able to reserve a private area with a pool table and couches at the very back . If you are hosting a large party, I would certainly recommend doing this also!
The service has always been awesome and the bartenders are always super friendly. I'd certainly recommend this place if you are tired of the douchey Clarendon scene and just want a fun place to play games, drink, and hang out :)
We came here on a Saturday night to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. Â If you don't want to make the hike all the way to Dave n Busters, Modern Continental is the way to go. Â The place is vibrant and full of colors, and the retro decor really gives this place a unique atmosphere. Â One thing I love about Modern Continental is that its FREE to reserve and area, or a table. Â We were lucky enough to snag the "green room" in the back of the lounge, which was jungle-themed and had its own pool table, couches and high top tables. Â Although located directly next to the back bar, I was a little disappointed to discover that the back bar wasn't open on Saturdays (?!); however, that didn't prevent us from getting our drink on! Â
Modern Contintenal is a fun and different place to go when you dont feel like going the normal Arlington, sardine-can, bar. Â They have a large variety of games, such as Wii, shuffleboard, skee ball and DARTS! Â GO HERE if you have the chance ... there's convenient parking in the lot right next door for only $3. Â You have no excuse not to!
I came here for the first time last week for a friend's birthday (See Elain X.'s review for the same birthday party!) and I thought it was a really low key, fun place to hang out without obnoxiously loud music where you have to yell over to have a conversation.
I didn't get to try any of the food (boo!) but they had a good amount of beers on tap and a great selection of liquor. Â They also have shuffle board, ping pong, pool tables, in addition to tons of table and bar space to sit at.
The parking situation is kind of weird because the garage is supposedly upstairs, but we managed to find street parking so we didn't have to worry about it.
If you're looking for a casual, relaxed, fun atmosphere, Continental is the place to go.
5 stars for customer service.
Continental is a very chill place to go. I was just here again for a friends birthday over the weekend and I really appreciate  when theres good customer service.
Katie, the manager is soo nice and very accommodating, she made sure that all was right for my friends birthday. I enjoyed being at Continental because the bartender Megan was awesome! She recommeded great drinks and has a great sense of humor. Megan recommended me the "grape soda" awesome drink, made delicious. She didn't just give you the typical "what do you want" she joked, laughed, made sure we were taken care of and a sweet heart too. We had reserved the back room where Josh took care of us and he was super attentive and made many rounds back to check on every single person in the room. Really nice and also looked like he enjoyed being there. He was very upbeat and we order the cheese fries and later on that night the fried pickles. TRY IT! It was really good! Not soggy but actually crispy and came with a great sauce. Continental- You will be seeing me more often.
Continental almost always hosts my work's happy hours and such gatherings. It's a great place to rent out for large groups, and the shuffle board tables, ping pong, and pool are more than enough to keep us entertained. My coworkers and I always look forward to their chicken fingers, quesadillas, and sliders.
Review Source:When Mr. Spacely is having a particularly bad day at the Sprocket company, this is where George Jetson goes to blow off some steam. It's a laid back and relaxed bar where you can grab a beer, hang out with friends, and challenge them to a rousing game of ping pong or shuffle board.
Also, their cheese fries are legit. Like....my group ordered four plates of them during our stay here and they came in very big and sharable portions.
I highly recommend coming here if you: #1) are from the future, #2) tired of spending your Saturday night with your elbows out waiting in line for a drink at the bar #3) looking for an easy going space to host a group birthday party
$3 happy hour drafts on Saturday from 6-9PM. Not just the standard Miller/Bud products too. Food was standard bar food, but real draw is the games. Shuffleboard and skeeball, with other options available too. We went to watch the Nat's game, and the staff has no problems changing the channel if requested.
I like the bars in Arlington because they have a good crowd. By "good crowd" I mean generally very few flat brim capped types. I can walk to Continental, but since it is next to Georgetown it is pretty easy to get to from DC.
I don't know if I'd  call it a billiards hall, but it does have pool tables. If you don't mind the wait, you can play a few games of that or shuffleboard. The waiting staff is pretty slow, but if you can find a spot at the bar, your drinks are going to come much faster. If the pool or shuffleboard tables aren't available, you can always check out a few board games.
The thing I like most about this place is that it's super relaxed. Â The crowd is generally very casual even on a weekend evening. There are a few people that didn't get the memo that their group isn't going to the Ultra Bar, but generally, it's a good group. The food is typical bar food, and the drinks are priced fairly. They'll even accommodate large groups for birthdays and such, including bringing in your own cake.
There's parking on the roof so avoid paying for parking if you can.
Continental is a great bar for a low-key happy hour. There's shuffleboard, billiards, skeeball, board games, and even more awesome than those options, a basketball arcade game.
My husband and I have gone a few times to enjoy brews on weekends and weekday happy hour. But the last time we went, it was a gigantic mistake. I suggested going there on a Friday night to watch March Madness games.
Everything was going great early in the night. We watched the Carolina-Ohio game, caught up with friends, and enjoyed tasty brews, fried pickles, and other pub food. Then all of a sudden, in the middle of the second game (IU-UK, I believe), the barely perceptible music in the bar transformed to raging club and trance music. It was horrible. It ruined the relaxing vibe of the place, and we could no longer converse whatsoever.
We stuck it out for about ten minutes (long enough to get the check) and took the fun to Rhodeside instead. I only wish I had thought of it sooner.
That experience, of course, was not indicative of how great this place can be. (I'd give that one a 2/5.) Every other visit has been great though, and I'd rank it in the 4-4.5 range, especially with the convenient location for both Virginians and DC-ers.
If you like a divey, fun, bar games-oriented establishment, this is a great place. If that's your scene though, I'd recommend staying far, far away after 10 p.m. or so on a weekend night.
P.S. Did anyone else own that silly Smash Mouth album in the 90s, "Astro Lounge"? Continental looks like it could have been photographed for the liner notes.
Went here for lunch with some friends for work. Â The buffalo chicken sandwich was really good. Â Chicken lightly breaded and fried, on a hoagie style bun. Â I substituted the fries it came with for the pasta salad which was really good as well. Â very well marinated and good fresh ingredients. Â
The waitress was great. our party had quite a few special requests and she nailed it. Â thats a rarity it seems these days.
The decor was very interesting, '70's disco style. Â I would like to come back to see what it looks like at night.
Note: don't be thrown off with the address. Â The address shows the bar at Fort Myer but the entrance is off Lee Highway. Â Use the directions on the website on how to get here more so than Google or Yelp.
The 50's kitschy/tiki-bar like decor of the place sets the theme to the bar. Â I felt like I was in a Technicolor dream once I walked into the bar. Â The bar is HUGE and equipped with plenty of games to entertain you. Â Pool, ping pong, table shuffleboard, skee ball - you name it they got it. Â They probably have darts. Â I went on a Sunday night/off peak time so I didn't encounter the same loud awfulness other reviewers encountered (though if I were in their shoes I'd probably feel the same way). Â
When the place isn't loud or overall crazy, this is a good place to hang out with friends. Â Especially during their happy hour when the games are at a lower price than at going out time and the food and drink specials are pretty nice too.
I wish I had a place like this out by me. I think Continental is a nice default  on any given night when there isn't much else going on. Kind of puts you in the mind of an adult rec center, but with a full bar.
They had all the things I liked  pool, ski ball, basketball hoop machines....and a really good DJ that was not afraid to play real Hip Hop.  DJ Paul did just enough on the Mac to make the setting more lively without taking away from the atmospere. Before the night was out, upon request he even delivered my coveted Throw it In The Bag remix. Â
The patrons are fairly clean cut young people who come out to have a little innocent fun with friends. I really appreciated this place for being a cool billiards spot for the 20 to 30 somethings professional types.
The scene was right there in the middle interms of being laid back, casual, comfortable, and suited up a little nicer than your typical Bar & Billiards. And the on top of that, the Long Island was'nt half bad either.
Metro Stops: Orange and Blue lines to Rosslyn
Never again.
I have been here twice because I work in Rosslyn and this is one of the only games in town when it comes to being open and serving beer after 5pm.
The first visit was inoffensive enough. Â We had beers and mediocre nachos served by a waiter who didn't want a tip badly enough to check if we wanted another round. Â The second visit iced the cake.
The waitress was rude from the start. Â
We had to ask for menus--isn't it your job to entice me to order something because the bigger the bill, the bigger your tip? Â Not just walk up and blurt "what do you want?"
When we finally ordered and were served (a beer, a manhattan, and an order of onion rings) thing rolled along okay until the waitress came back. Â My friend ordered another beer and asked for some more ketchup and some mustard.
Him: "Can we get some ketchup, please?"
Her: "You have ketchup."
Him: "Can we have some more ketchup?"
Her: "You have ketchup right there."
Him: "You can just bring a bottle, it doesn't have to be in the cup or anything"
Her: "We don't have bottles of ketchup, and you still have some right there."
Me: "Forget it! Can we just have the mustard?"
Her: SIGH!!!!
When she came back with the mustard she did a "drive by", dropping it off without looking at us despite the fact that I was clearly fiddling with my very empty glass and wanted to order another round.
When the time for the check came, she snatched a fold piece of paper off the table beside me  "This is a groupon, right?"  She scoffed and walked away.  Why, yes, it is a groupon that YOUR place of employment sold to me, and I would have happily handed it to you.
She is fortunate that my ethical side forced me to tip her on the full amount of the bill.
Wow, lot of mixed reviews about this place. Well, I, for one, have thoroughly enjoyed my time here both times we've come. They have pool (obviously) and shuffleboard for cheaper than most places in the DC area, and they have board games to rent for a dollar, which is absolutely awesome. They also have one of the only weekend happy hours I've found, with 3 dollar beers, and some well specials from 6-9 on Saturdays and Sundays.
If you're looking for that bar that'll give you "something different," this isn't the place for you. But it's a solid offering, and if you're in Rosslyn, pretty much your only choice after everything else closes at 10 or 11. Definitely recommended.
It's the only cool place to drink in Rosslyn. Â But even without the competition they do a really good job. Â
Good meal specials (to the point that I have them memorized... 1/2 price Salads on Tuesdays, Burgers on Wednesday, and Cuban Sandwiches on Thursday), great HH deals, they always have an interesting beer or 2 on tap on top of the regular selection and of course they have pool (and shuffleboard!!). Â
I stop in here for lunch, for work Happy Hours and sometimes (because I live in Courthouse) for a chill place to have beers at a place that isn't crazy crowded.
What is it with the Billiards places around here that they look like they were designed by George Jetson? Rocket Bar, Atomic Billiards and this place all have the same quasi-futuristic style. What happened to a classic pool hall: darkly lit with green lamp shades, wooden decor, and a smoky interior, quietly accented only by the sounds of the game?
Continental Bar & Billiards is trying really hard to be hip. Which is not necessarily a bad thing. The space is huge. There are two gigantic bars, and all the bright colors made me think I accidentally dropped acid on my Metro ride there. There is one major problem though. They put the bar in Rosslyn. Bor-ring. There were more old suits in this place than Men's Wearhouse. ("You'll like the way you drink, ...I guarantee it!") Kinda dulls any kind of hip vibe you're going for.
I came here for Happy Hour because a college friend from out of town suggested it. I know, I know,...don't let out-of-towners suggest bars. But I kinda wanted to try this place, it was close to his hotel, and he didn't know the area.
I ended up having a good time. The Happy Hour specials were good: $3 drafts, and they had Yuengling, Octoberfest, and Blue Moon among the usual suspects. They also have Delerium and Chimay in bottles, but no specials on those. Pool was expensive, but we easily got a table, and the space was so large you didn't have to worry about hitting the people next to you on every shot. They had plenty of TVs, Shuffleboard, Ping Pong, and a ton of other bar games. It was kind of like being at Dave & Busters without the crippling embarassment of being at Dave & Busters.
I liked Continental. Pool could be a bit cheaper, but the drinks were on point. I don't see myself ever suggesting it for a night out, but I would certainly consider it if invited. How's that for faint praise?
While visiting some friends and family in the DC area, we got a collective hankering for some pool and beers. Someone suggested Continental so off we went.
The first thing I noticed, being slightly obsessed with the game, was Skeeball. Thoughts of pool and beer quickly evaporated as I made my way to the game. Conveniently located next to it was Hoop Fever, my boyfriend's favorite and so we all commenced playing. It was short-lived. The Hoop Fever machine quickly ate a couple of dollar bills. We asked an employee if this could be fixed and he said "Ummm...noooo. I am not, like, a tech person". Well buddy, you also aren't, like, a smart person or, like, a customer service-oriented person. Thanks for nothing.
So we amble past the shuffle boards and the other arcade-ish games and ask for a pool table. We are given a pool table in a cute little alcove...right in the middle of a private party. We asked an employee if we could move to another table so we didn't interrupt their meeting and he said "Well its too bad that they didn't pay for the table. It's fine. Just play there". Uh ok. Awkward. So here we were: myself, my boyfriend, his brothers, and our two friends...all in all four guys and two girls crashing the Girl Geek Dinner. Awesome.
We ordered food which was extremely mediocre. You know when you have a few beers and you get the craving for some satisfying buffalo wing action? Well satisfy that craving somewhere else. We ordered spicy wings and got some rosemary-blasted concoction. Gross. The nachos weren't bad though.
In the end, the place just struck me as weird. The surroundings are like The Jetsons meet George of the Jungle; the employees (for the most part) are apathetic and the food is meh. Maybe if we weren't feeling so self-conscious about crashing a group's private party; we hadn't been met with such nonchalance when a machine ate our money and the food was a touch better- the experience would have merited four stars. As it is, I think two stars is a generous rating.
FYI - I sent a copy of my review to the manager's contact info listed on their website. Â Who can guess if I get an answer? Â Yeah, not so much. Â Crickets. Â
I am actually glad it turned out this way because it means I'm glad I didn't give them a cent and I will know not to give them any money going forward.
This place is interesting, I have to say I love the glittery bar. Â
It was easy enough to get a pool table, and having never been to a pool hall I don't know if the rate was reasonable enough for not (14/hr for 2 people). Â
Like others say the smoke is gross, but fortunately the place was light enough on people and big enough on space for it to not be a big problem on a friday night. Â
Music was actually kinda of a nice change of pace--lots of 90's. Â
Downside: lots of suits here. Â Bleh.
As the only real bar in Rosslyn, Continental is often overrun at Happy Hour by CEB workers from across the street. Â It is a nicely decorated space, with several motifs. Â They have many pool tables, and a very long and appealing bar. Â They also have shuffleboard which is nice. Â It seems to be great after work, and then dies down to the point that its not a valid place to go later at night unless you want to be lonely. Â
It's unfortunately also overrun by an undesirable weird, sketchy guy contingent that is apparent at a lot of pool bars. Â This is unfortunate because Continental seems to want to appeal to a much more Georgetowny upscale clientele.
Theoretically a good place for happy hour or a chilled out night with friends:
decent bar food
relaxed atmosphere
lots of tvs
affordable drinks
lots of pool / shuffleboard / board games
... all nearly overshadowed by the nasty cigarette smoke and sketchy dudes.
Friday nights out in Virginia ... *sigh*
I'll open with the possibility that I'm probably a bit biased as my best friend works the door here several nights. But I have no problem being honest with him when he does something that sorta sucks in life, so I'd have no problem being honest about his work establishment. And I have to say that this is a neat little place.
They've got a great beer selection. Yingling is on tap here and you can buy Delirium, one of the best beers in the world (damn well outta be at $9!) as well as a range of other things. I had the fried calamari and loved it. You get a whole lot of calamari for not a hugely ridiculous price and it's GOOD. They throw in fried jalapenos with it and put two types of dipping sauce to use. All the folks that work there are pretty cool and I love the kitchy 1950's style decor.
They've got happy hour and other specials, are open for lunch and serve food pretty late in to the night. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood
I actually liked this place...minus the kid in the hat who decided that his blotto drunk ass would ask me numerous...stupid...questions.
After I was done having a holiday party dinner for the military school I'm in, a couple of us decided to walk across the street. Â Two of us were still in mess dress (imagine those short, tuxedo type jackets, all the medals, shoulder knots, etc.) and the others were in suits with one in a dress.
Well, as we walk in, we did turn a few heads - amazingly a few smiles but I think it was more directed to my Navy counterpart who was also in his mess jacket. Â Of course, I gravitate immediately to the televisions to check out the scores (why they scheduled the dinner for the night of the college conference championships is beyond me).
I ended up attracting the riff-raff (which only served to verify that all the ladies minus the sweet bartender was oogling the Navy guy instead of me). Â One VERY drunk young man came up, tried to put his arm around me while smiling an incredibly large shit-eating grin and said.... (DD is drunk dude - ME is me)
DD: Â *heheheheheh*
ME: Â *turn to face the guy*
DD: Â Hey man...*hic*...do you have one of them...uh...swords??
ME: Â I'm sorry?
DD: Â You knoooow maaaaaaan....a sword (makes a slashing motion)
ME: Â Uhh...you're thinking thinking of a sabre. Â And no, Marines carry those - I'm a Soldier.
DD: Â No? Â Uhhh.....do you have...um....nunchucks??
ME: Â .......
DD: Â *grins harder*
ME: Â Dude, you're sauced. Â Enjoy your night.
DD: Â No nunchucks???
ME: Â *turns and walks away*
Man, if the guy was sober, I might have been tempted to deck the kid. Â But being in a dress uniform, in a bar with a beer, and getting into a fight USUALLY isn't too well appreciated by the police - fellow government servant or not.
Anyway, the place warrants another visit - the bartender was friendly enough (and it helps that she was cute). Â I also see that some mentioned some beer soaked hotdogs - so maybe my wife and I will stop by after a day of shopping in Georgetown.
If that little scallywag is back, it's on like Donkey Kong if I'm not in uniform! Â :)
Ventured here with my Arlington girls on Friday, in hopes of mingling with the opposite sex, but ended up having a good time just chilling with ourselves.
This place is more of an after-work bar than a late-night bar. I'd come here with co-workers or my girlfriends for a drink-and-chat, while playing free darts or Connect Four, but it's not a place to meet new people. Seemed like everyone was very secluded at their own little tables and that a lot people came for the happy hour but lingered on.
They do make a strong martini, and there's some pretty good bar food (my friends LOVED the hot dogs), and who doesn't like drinking Uno?
Something has been missing from my life. Â Sure, I love the ocean and the sunshine and the Los Angeles lifestyle, but ever since I left Dallas three years ago I've had a nagging feeling that something was missing. Â Not the stockyards and the rodeo. Â Not the stifling summer heat. Â Not the abundant use of makeup by women in the grocery store. Â What could it be...
A couple of weeks ago I discovered what I've been missing. Â At Continental Pool Lounge. Â And alas it is in NoVa. Â Shuffleboard!
Not your grandma and grandpa's cruise ship shuffleboard (though I'd probably find that kind fun too because I'm a giant competitive dork). Â Bar shuffleboard, with the silicon "sand" and the weights that you slide. Â Oh how I've missed the bar shuffleboard!!
Continental has bar shuffleboard, along with pool tables, board games, Megatouch, multiple tv's and lively 60's funky decor. Â If I lived in DC, I would be at this place ALL THE TIME. Â Unfortunately my boyfriend took me down at shuffleboard during my one and only visit, but I just know I could destroy him if only I had a neighborhood joint like the Continental! Â Woe is me.
Continental deserves a little more credit than given by the other reviewers. It's one of the few weekend happy hours that I ever make it to. Saturday night from 6-9pm. Not bad! It tends to lead to a night of multiple stages:
Stage 1: Happy Hour drinks and open pool table
Stage 2: Hop onto a pool table and realize you might at well play a dozen games, while your at it
Stage 3: Call all of your friends to join, because you realize you don't want to leave, even though Happy Hour is over
Stage 4: I'm hungry, has anyone seen a menu?
Stage 5: Freshly made hummus, awesome salad with avocado, bacon, blue cheese (NOT YOUR AVERAGE PUB GRUB)
Stage 6: A free shot from the server (NOT SHABBY OR SLEEPY)
Stage 7: Wow... I'm drunk and my game is getting sloppy, but I'm having a great time laughing and having a good time
Continental has a slightly trying-too-hard hipness vibe, but the decor is so nice you end up forgiving it. Â There are bright purple pool tables and darts, and you can also get a whole host of free games to play at your table (anything from regular cards to Sorry). Â Drinks run about the usual in Arlington ($6 beers/wine/rail drinks) but ladies play pool for free on Mondays and there are other nice happy hour specials as well.
**
Edit: since writing this review, I've been to Continental a few more times and always been disappointed. Â There are no higher-end beer choices, the cocktails have been sad and watery, and while the decor remains the same the vibe has become what I can only describe as post-college-bar. Â Out of, say, six visits, I have had bad to horrible service four of the times. Â Not good numbers.
