I don't know how much the beers are, so they can't be that much.
The food is surprisingly good.
The locals can be chatty or not.
The servers are pleasant and can also be chatty or not.
It's right across the street from the T.
Maybe I should put exclamation points on the points above to express how honestly pleased I am with each characteristic of this little pub. But I won't. Because I am cold as ice. Like the beer. In this pub. That I like. A lot.
Burger and Chili were ok. Â Fries (lukewarm, nothing special), Â grilled cheese (white bread, american cheese), and dessert (one option, and if tasted like it came from the frozen food section at the supermarket) were pretty bad. Â Menu was a bit misleading, indicating that fries came with chili and sandwich but they didn't really. Â No kids menu to speak of. Tattooed waitress was new and very sweet, which was the best thing about the place. Â Still, I won't go back.
Review Source:Pretty sweet bar! Definitely low key and has a nice neighborhood feel. They also serve really good food which! A great place to go if you just want to have a drink or grab something to eat w/o the Boston crowds. The establishment is clean (not always the case with bars this old)...steps above a dice bar but nothing swanky. Located right outside of the Broadway T stop on the Red Line so you don't have to travel far. Lots of flannel shirts and country music but it's cool, lol...no awkward stares or anything. Check it out.
Review Source:This place scares me a little. I watched a woman spend her entire welfare check on scratch tickets. Every five minutes she stumbled over with another $20 in hand...when do you just give up? My arrival was subject to not-so-welcoming stares from various patrons and those said stares continued as I quickly drank a Bud Light and decided to move on. I'm not made for this place, methinks.
Review Source:Great pub to pop into for a drink or six, and even some food. Â They have shipyard pumpkin on tap for cheap, which is my go-to... not to mention it is the stop before andrew so its on my way home. Â the food is actually good, and the go-to there are the steak tips + mashed. Â my buddy got the sliders which were really good, and solid chicken fingers to boot.
overall, dont go there if you are scared of "hole in the wall" pubs. Â this is no hole in the wall because there is a restaurant part attached to it, but its not an upscale bar either. Â its a pub. Â dont write a crappy review if you dont like pubs or know what you are getting yourself into because you just decided to stop by and have high standards. Â
good place, and biggest thing is the service is great. Â one of the bartenders sean is in the first scene of The Town too which was funny.
literally right across from the broadway T stop.
The Cornerstone has started serving lunch and dinner. It is great to have another restaurant choice in the neighborhood. Â They are serving good, basic bar food and full dinners. Â If you want to soak up some Southie atmosphere and grab a beer and a burger and watch a game, it is a great choice.
