If I could give 0 stars I would. Used to be my favorite Asian restaurant that I would frequent on a weekly basis. However, I will never be eating at this establisment again. I ordered take-out this evening, and when I got home, I found multiple LIVE bugs in my food. This is absolutely disgraceful and unsanitary. DO NOT EAT HERE!
Review Source:My initial draw to JK was the 50% off sushi And certain appetizers and I keep going for the sushi appetizers. It's such an irresistible offer to have half price sushi. I think the sushi is of pretty good quality but I've stuck to the basics (tuna, salmon, eel, and California) Because they move fast. I've heard mixed reviews for some of the more exotic choices like sea urchin. The appetizers are solid portions and good prices, their scallion pancakes are some of the better I've had. The service is really good and the food is ready pretty quickly.
Their ambience inside is pretty cool and relaxed, Great for conversations, and usually not that packed. I would assume they operate mostly on deliveries because of what fellow Fairfield students claim about long delivery times. Overall great for students and families alike. Check it out.
I've been to this restaurant several times, and the food is always excellent. Â The portions are impressive. Â I often get the eggplant with scallops, which is amazing. Â Â The flavor is different than what you would find elsewhere. Â
The 50% off sushi roll promotion is another reason I keep going back. Â The place has nice ambience, and the service is very good!
Ordered delivery this evening and was told 30 minutes. Â An hour later we called and asked where the order was. Â They said they only had one delivery driver and that our order was packed and waiting to be brought to us. Â Thirty more minutes later the driver came to our door.
The food is OK but I really can't get over the fact that they weren't honest about how long it would take to deliver our food and that when it arrived it was lukewarm at best. Â You might want to take that into consideration when they give you an estimate for how long it will take to deliver your order. Â It's not likely that they will be honest with you if they are having delivery problems.
This 4 stars is for the Chinese food not the sushi.
Excellent attentive service/pleasant w/o language challenges. Decor is new & a bit on the dark side but the booths were comfortable. Sushi bar & cocktail bar both w TVs. Acoustics are ok- music is @ a low volume yet enhances the atmospher but does not detract from conversation.
The chicken lettuce wraps were excellent: clean modern presentation w ultra crisp fresh romain lettuce, tiny bits of chicken, jicama, pines nuts sweet red pepper. Didn't come w any sauce SoNo ordered Hoinsin & Siracha on the side.
Thai pineapple rice dish was too mushy bcz of the fresh pineapple so changed it to veg fried rice which was excellent w egg, bean sprouts, onion, peppers, broccoli. The kimchee soup was very good but lacked heat (spice). The shrimp appetizer was cooked nicely but also needed a sauce.
A consistant fusion menu & good lunch specials. Prices r typical Ffld county.
Good for groups. Huge parking lot.

Here's a heads up for you guys in Fairfield County (and beyond) who are looking for a REALLY good new restaurant. J and K Asian Bistro opened last week on the Post Road in Fairfield at exit 22. In the Bob's Store plaza. Where Panda IV used to be. We went there last night (because we couldn't think of anywhere else to go). The space has been totally renovated. The new decor is lovely. The food is excellent. The service is wonderful... well, there weren't many people. The manager, Joe, couldn't have been nicer. Michael, our waiter, was attentive, polite and knowledgeable about the menu. The Asian fusion menu is extensive, with items from China, Korea, Japan (fabulous sushi and sashimi that was so fresh, you'd think they raised the fish in a pond in the back yard), Malaysia, Thailand..... There were 4 of us. We had Honey walnuts with Crispy Chicken and Shrimp (make sure you order this on!) and Shrimp and Chicken in Peanut Sauce and Sauteed Shrimp with Lotus and Mango They will modify any dish to suit your taste. Everything was hot and fresh and beautifully presented on very interesting plates. The manager offered us complementary after dinner drinks .... Saki and plum wine with a cherry. We shared one. It was tasty, but very sweet. When the bill came, it was extremely reasonable. We'll definitely go back. I hope you'll give this place a try and support this new local business. You won't be disappointed.
