Anyone who rates this less than 5 should really just  -  stay home and microwave soup, or simply join all the tourists at the mall, or ON Las Olas, where you can find your $20 french crepes and $20 noodles "pasta" with salty, mystery meat.

Because THIS is a cute friendly wine beer bistro, that's only a 2-block walk north, off 8th Ave, with fresh salads, hummus pita, grape leaves, fresh GOAT cheese, some Gouda, real chicken, always amazing pizza baked to order.  Ask.  Try the wine, it's called wine-tasting.

The owner is a friendly guy, and his family, have been around since we (also) "stumbled in" back in 2005-6.  Las Olas Gourmet Wine, now called Rumi Lounge, who cares what the name is.  My friends from NY, MI, GA all request this place as "that great Mediterranean place".

Really had a lovely experience here on Friday night and was pleasantly surprised.  The middle eastern plate with falafel, hummous, and tabouli was out of this world.  Obviously, they know what they are doing and all was fresh and homemade.  They happened to have a group of middle eastern musicians playing that night, which added to the fun and the ambiance.   The pizza that the people next to me got looked absolutely delicious and the vibe was laid back and chill.  We will definitely be back.

Stumbled upon this winebar after yelp got us lost looking for a Greek place. The service was fantastic and the food was even better. We ordered the hummus platter to start and a bottle of white (it was 11:30 am). The wine wasn't chilled so they comped us each a glass while we waited. I had the tuna melt which was yummy (and not dripping in mayo, ick!). My bff had the prociutto sandwich and direct quote, "I want to make love to this sandwich".

The wine selection is great and the food is great as well. Cute place, definitely plan to return next time I'm in S Florida!

The food is great and very reasonably priced.  We ordered the hummus and chicken salad and it was amazing! Its a very small place, great for a casual lunch or light meal.

After reading the reviews for this place then visiting myself, I'm convinced the writers of the previous reviews work for or own the restaurant. I had never heard of this place before, and saw them on Living Social so I bought the deal to try something new. I can't say that it was particularly bad, it just wasn't work event the $20 I spent and the drive there. I went with a friend for a low key dinner and drink and was surprised when I couldn't find it on Las Olas, especially with the name. It is 2 blocks North of Las Olas on the ground floor of an apartment building. I'd say it's actually closer to Broward Blvd than Las Olas, and there wasn't much going on. The restaurant only has about 5 tables inside with seating for about 30 and a few little cafe tables outside that each seat 2 people. We decided to sit inside because there wasn't anything to see outside except two run down offices and homeless people walking around. The menu is decent with a diverse selection of mediterranean and italian fare including pizza, salads, tapas, sandwiches and falafel. We started with wine which was delicious but for a "wine bar" they didn't have that great of a selection. We ordered the Sausage & Spinach Tuscan pizza & the Exotic Cheese plate. The pizza was good, but the "exotic" cheeses consisted of Pepper Jack, Cheddar and Provolone, which I wouldn't consider to be exotic by any means. Overall it was an ok experience with no major blips but nothing I'd ever return to. I think the name was a bit deceiving because in reality they are a togo spot for residents in the condo building.

To start off with, this restaurant couldn't be in a better location.  2 blocks North of Las Olas, makes for a great place to start off your night.

One of the few places around where you can sit (inside or outside) and enjoy a single glass of wine with a friend.  Also a good place to make a meal out of appetizers.  Most of them are Mediterranean yet they also have a full list of Pizzas which could easily be split.

Modern decor, very warm and welcoming.  Great service.

This place has the type of vibe that instantly puts you in a good mood.

Only difficult thing is finding it.  Tucked away, and parking seems odd (Tow Away signs all over).  Make sure to stay on the street, or at least sit outside where you can see your car.

PS, it has a TV (which they keep on mute - luckily).

If you like classy casual cool, with wonderful wines and light fare, this is south Florida's finest.  The flatbreads and sandwiches are exquisite.  Beats the rush and fuss of Los Olas, one block off.

I accidentally found this place when I took a turn down 8th avenue from Las Olas which I've never done before. What made me stop short and do a turnaround was theire sign in the window that said Best Falafels in Town. I am always looking for good, quick Mediterranean bites and this place really, truly does have the BEST falafels in town! At first I was uneasy because the price was $8 and I thought, Great, it's probably another over-priced, sub-par fare. But this falafel was worth every dollar! It was large and came in a perfectly toasted, fresh pita pocket. The falafel itself was crispy, flavorful and fresh. It was smothered in FRESH yogurt sauce and hummus. They also have their own homemade iced teas. I got blue raspberry which was ice cold and perfect on a hot afternoon.
I also noticed they have an extensive pizza and sandwich menu, and they also have a huge wine selection. The ambience is nice and quiet. Perfect if you just want to have a relaxing lunch inside or outside. It's so hard to fid places like this that are just nice and quiet and comfortable and not blasting some god-awful music through the speakers, or have just a whole lot going on all around you. The girl taking orders and serving was very nice, too. I will definitely be back here when I need a nice break from work to try more of their menu.
PS I got my falafel wrap to-go because I didn't have much time, and it came out SO quick! I waited 5 minutes, at the most. This place is great for dining in, or on the go!

Las Olas Gourmet is a great little place two blocks south of Las Olas Boulevard. The place has gone through a few transformations since it first opened three years ago. It's a good place to get basic middle eastern fare. Nothing fancy and certainly not the best, but reliable and tasty.
Their sandwiches are good and their pizza is delicious. Also the service is as friendly as it is inefficient. I'd rather have it like this than the other way around.
The servings tend to be small and their prices standard. Not a place to go out of your way to visit, but certainly a place to visit if you're in the neighborhood and want to have a good, relaxing lunch.

This little cafe is situated on the ground floor of the Venezia bldg between Las Olas Blvd and Broward Blvd. Formerly, Las Olas Gourmet and Wine, it now serves gourmet pizza (dough made by hand). This is a cross between a cafe and a wine bar. My mother and I meet here often b/c she likes to have a glass of wine in a nice atmosphere and i love the food. This is a place where you can go for their Friday night happy hour scene or for a quiet place to enjoy a nice meal throughout the week. I have never seen the place operating without the owner present, who seems to do the serving and food preparation. He is a friendly and attentive gentleman, who creates a laid back atmosphere and provides good service. The prices are fair. The location and parking is convenient (parking along the street or adjacent in bank parking lot). I especially LOVE the saffron chicken sandwich and the mixed berry salad. Both are fresh and served in nice portions. They also have a Mediterranean plate you can share (hummus, falafel, tabbouleh and stuffed grape leaves). Along with wines, there is a small selection of beers from around the world and I like to order an iced latte. I really enjoy this place!
