My husband and I celebrated our anniversary this weekend at Mancuso's and had an excellent meal. The waitstaff was very attentive and friendly. The bread basket came with a variety of breads and olive oil w/garlic cloves for dipping...delicious! I had the Risotto Frutta di Mare and my husband had Chicken Francese, both provided great portions. The atmosphere is traditional and cozy. The owner told us that they had recently enclosed/remodeled the outdoor patio for dining and parties. We had a great experience and are looking forward to visiting again soon!

Note to owner, (Sal, I believe) don't send out coupons if you're not going to honor
them graciously.  Note to customer, prepare to be hassled.

We had a party of 18, yes 18 - and we had to request numerous times for the $10, yes it was only $10 - how rude and how very CHEAP!

Go for the bread, garlic and olive oil and if you have a discount of any type, you will be made to feel insignificant.

Went there tonight, April 6, 2013.  It was a busy Saturday night..arrived about 7:30PM and they had a wedding rehearsal dinner in the back room.  We were seated quickly, and ordered within 5 minutes.  Fresh bread and some spreadable garlic cloves in oil were brought over.  The server came over 3 times to tell us our entrees would be out in a few minutes.  She apologized and attributed the delay to the party in the back.  Our entrees arrived at 8:50PM.  Even though we waited over an hour for our food we weren't offered any more bread...no one came around to make sure our water glasses were filled.  Even once our dinner arrived...no more water.  Didn't quite understand it...there was plenty of help in the restaurant...at least 4-5 servers plus several people helping with cleaning tables and bringing over drinks from the bar.  Food was OK.  I had chicken parm and that was pretty well made, my wife had chicken florentine and that was not so tasty.  There's a lot of competition in this town as far as Italian restaurants. Don't think this one is much better than the middle of the heap.
PS - I used to come here when it was Three Brothers and we liked it.  Then it tried to go upscale with Mancuso's and we weren't impressed.  Had not been back for 4-5 years until tonight.  It's a reliable decent meal..not a standout.

The food was good. The service was awful and the manager blamed us the customers. I have waitressed before and know for a fact THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT.

Its a shame we had such a bad experience because everyone really enjoyed their food.

Ive never written a review before for a restaurant because I just havent cared enough to do one, but after going to Mancusos, I figured I should write one, just because of how the night went.  The food was amazing.  Some of the better food italian food i have had in fairfield...that was what made this night terrible, the food was great, but teh service and management ruined the night, which was such a shame.  We went on New Years Eve, so obviously it would be busy, we understood that coming into it.  We sat out on the patio which I guess is usually closed this time of the year, but they had it heated and closed, and there were serveral other tables out there.  Clearly they knew there were other tables out there, because those were the only tables getting any kind of service.  Our waiter took our drink order and food order....then I guess he took off the rest of the night.  Never saw him again...other people brought us our food...then they disappeared too.  We finished our bottles of wine (in a group of 6 people), no one asked how our food was, thankfully it was good because otherwise we would have been stuck eating it because no one came by the entire night.  Then finally when we were clearly done, out waiter showed up again asking if we wanted dessert, and before we could give our answer, he gave us our check, so clearly he had decided if we were eating dessert or not.  Then we were ready to pay, had the credit cards in the check...and were waiting....and waiting....and waiting....and waited some more.  Finally we brought it up to the front and gave it to anyone who would give us the time of day, and mentioned how the service was slow and felt we didnt get any of the attention that we deserved for our tab being a couple hundred dollars.  finally the manager comes over to talk with us...without the check that we tried to pay, so that took a little longer still, and the manager went on to tell us how they are busy (clearly we could see that, thanks for the update manager) and went on to explain how the patio usually isnt open (so i guess when we made the reservation they should have mentioned how the patio will get crappy service since it usually isnt open, even though the other tables got great service and all their food and drinks before us, even though we were there for a while before they arrived), and the manager continued to tell us how the 20% added tip to the total for a large group is common, and we had no problem with that, I used to be a waiter, I usually tip 20% because I know how waiters rely on tips....this is a pretty sweet deal for the waiter though, because he can give us absolute crap service, and the manager can rude to its customers, and the 20% is still added anyway.  I dont know if it was because we are in our mid twenties and they assumed that we werent going to tip well or wouldnt be worth giving the time to, but to someone like me, who likes to go out and eat, and doesnt mind nice restaurants and tipping well, they pretty much lost a customer that lives down the road from them and would have gone all the time because the food was great, and the wine was delicious.  So I will end up going to some other italian place in town next time im craving some great pasta, and probably go to a place where they recognize the fact that all customers should be treated the same, or even acknowledged when they are dining there, and no patrionized by the manager at that time.  So yah final review, great good, i suggest going if you dont mind getting ignored by your wait staff and have the owner be rude to you, and just having a tip added to your bill regardless on how the service is.

My Husband and I went here for dinner the atmosphere was wonderful romantic candlelight on tables/quiet not loud staff was very freidnly and attentive. I had the clams vongole absolutely the best I have ever tasted perfect balance of garlic/with a hint of nutmeg I believe my hubby had the pizza and stated it was delicious. We loved it so much we purchased a gift certificate for my mother and all of us are going back after the holidays to enjoy another meal all together.

This post is long overdue. Mancuso's has fantastic Italian. Yes, there are tons of other Fairfield county options, but Sal and the gang here are the best.

For lunch, they have pizza-bun sandwich-like options that are all really great (San Remo), and their actual pizzas are also fantastic. For dinner, you really can't go wrong with any choice, though I love the Chicken Florentine or Francaise, and also, the Chicken Scarpiello (for fans of spice). Make sure to also try their Pasta Fagioli.

I've been here many, many times in the past, and I'll be there many times again in the future.

This restaurant has been rated as one of the best, if not the best, Italian restaurant in Connecticut.  I can't understand why -- I can think of several others that are much, much better.  My husband and I had dinner there last evening.  The staff couldn't have been more courteous or helpful.  But the food really wasn't that good.  My husband, who loves Bolognaise sauce, and orders it any chance he can, was not happy with it.  I ordered the Chicken Gorgonzola, which was made with white wine, sun-dried tomatoes and broccoli.  The waiter was happy to substitute angel hair pasta for the penne.  I found that the gorgonzola absolutely overpowered any other flavors in the dish.  I'm really sorry I can't be more positive.  The owner obviously cares about his restaurant and works very hard to please, but we just didn't enjoy the experience.

Been to this place several times. Food is inconsistent at best. I have taken friends and family to this place to make sure one bad meal isn't the constant but sadly have to say that it has been consistently bad. Salty food and average wait staff.

Had lunch there today, was awesome.  The Chicken Scarpariello is the best I have ever had and their Gorgonzola Salad is great too.

I really felt they deserved an update:
Everything was very good from A-Z (again).
Service is professional & courteous & the atmosphere is warm, intimate & comfortable.
We had: fried calamari w a fradiavlo sauce- very nice, Scallops Tuscan- tender sweet scallops, garlic, roasted peppers, olives over lingini- delish, Lasagna w a Bolanese sauce (my nephew devoured every last morsel)- rich & dense, I had the Chicken Florentine- chicken done Franchaise style, lemon, butter, & garlic but topped with sauté spinach & fresh mozzarella over angle hair- just excellent.
Families, friends, & couples alike enjoy this local spot.

What a pleasant surprise! My parents and I were looking for a place to stop on our way from NYC to Rhode Island, and this place came up on one of my apps as almost 5 stars so we figured we would give it a try. Go there! So easy to get there from I-95. Adorable atmosphere and the nicest waiter ever. The food was fresh, tasty and very novel sandwich options. I got the spinach salad and added chicken - the dressing was stellar, both light and tart and perfect! My parents agreed that it was quite a gem - they were very effusive about the bread - and we plan to stop there on our way back. Great prices too!

We've been there many times and have never had a bad meal!  My personal favorite is the Veal Milanese on linguini (not a menu item but they will do it for you if you ask).  The wine by the glass is very reasonable.  Very good food at very good prices!

Someone needs to tell these guys to remove the lunch special from Yelp as it does not exist. The waiter had never heard of the special.

The food here was good but forgettable. I'd probably go there again if I lived in the area, but not sure if it deserves the 4.5 yelp stars rating.

I went to Mancuso's Italian Restaurant in Fairfield, CT last Friday October 8th and had some of the best Italian food I have had! The Calamari with their homemade Marinara Sauce was spicy not greasy & tasted very fresh. The salad was a generous portion with nuts and pears I think the tomato's came from the owners garden! Both Sal and Carmen  treat their customers like family, always welcome and they aim to please in every way. I think this place in one of Fairfield County CT's best keep secret and only two minutes off of the I95 Black Rock Turnpike exit. Bottom line: Great prices, generous portions, fresh food, the best pizza in the area, nice atmosphere, friendly owners, great service consistently! Try this place you will not be disappointed! Tell Sal I sent you here and he will perhaps give you a glass of wine on the house!

I've been going here for a couple years- my boyfriend and I went on our first date at Mancuso's and try to go every couple months. Their individual pizzas have a great blend of cheeses and are always good, and I have a hard time not filling up on the fresh bread and olive oil that they give every table.

Unfortunately, the last time I ate here I wasn't very happy. There were so many onions in my Penne ala Vodka that it was borderline inedible as a result of the sweetness. The chocolate cake we had for dessert tasted like boxed cake and the icing was really grainy. This was pretty unusual and surprising. I'm going to give it another try and hope that it was just a one-time issue.

Amazing food! We get our dinner and catering from them all the time! Top on our list are their chicken francese, eggplant rolotini, calamari, veal marsala and chicken Marsala. Their mixed baby green salad is amazing too. Chicken fingers and the dip that comes with it is also awesome. Great taste and affordable price for the big serving u get! Service is so so.
