I love pubs. I love pub food. I hate that I have to avoid gluten.
Imagine my joy at finding GLUTEN FREE Shepherd's Pie! And Cider! All in one place. Not only that, but the server knew what gluten was and why I had to avoid it. Great staff all the way around. Plus nice big windows on a grey, rainy day.

Decent place.  Food is pretty good.  Big portions.  Lovely staff.  I like watching games at Chics and Wings a bit more.

Extremely disappointing for a sports bar. It was great that they had a dozen TVs throughout the restaurant, however they're all the small cheap ones you buy at a pharmacy. The sandwich "baguette" was soggy and microwaved. Even more delicious there was mold on the bread! 5 stars if you want cheap beer, 1 star if you plan on watching or ordering anything.

Good hotel bar worth looking info if you want a pint but don't want to head into D.C.!  Had a decent Tanqueray and tonic as well.

What it is NOT - OMalley's is not your typical dusty hotel bar with gold name tag wearing, polyester clad staff and a bunch of tired travelers sitting one seat apart looking for a quiet spot and a quick dinner (or a quickee) while Musak and warm beer slowly kill what's left of your daily allotment of functioning brain cells...uhhhggg. Traveling is sooo romantic.

What it is - It is a loud, active, busy pub with plenty of friendly locals that come in for food, beer and some fun. There are two seating area, plus the bar and a lot of space along with an large outdoor patio area with lots of spread out seating and on this night hosted the remnants of a local adult softball team laughing over what sounded like a win and an apparent groin pull. ouch!

Food - OMalley's has the classic pub menu with plenty to choose from. I ordered chips and salsa and a chicken pot pie. I know, the thought of a pot pie scares me too. It makes me think of the old freezer burned ones that I ate as a kid and would nearly always provide a second degree burn and a few tears at first bite. The OMalley's pot pie was awesome and was not your typical pot pie. It was basically a bowl filled with a very thick soup containing all of the typical pot pie ingredients and a fluffy crust in the shape of a square bun sitting on top. It was awesome! and I will order it again tonight. The chips were thick and the salsa was saucy with lots of juicy tomatoes. I am a fan!

When you're a weary road traveler the only thing that can soothe your tattered soul is sweet malted alcohol.  Lets be honest the whole reason you want to stay at a full service hotel isn't for room service or for lack of free breakfast, its for the hotel bar.  At the Crowne Plaza in Tyson's Corner the requisite hotel bar is O'Malley's.

I was at the Crowne for a Friday and Saturday night while in the area for work.  I went to O'Malley's both nights to grab a drink.  I can't comment on the food only the booze.  They had about 8 beers on tap.  Most of them were what you'd expect from a tap selection.  They did have a few nicer brews other than your standard domestics along with their house O'Malley's brew.  I had an O'Malley's brew, I'm quite sure it was a keg of some common light beer I couldn't recognize.  The beers came in 16 or 22 ounce varieties.  The second night I was there they were out of 22oz glasses so it was only the 16oz variety.  The beers were as over priced as you'd expect from hotel beer.  Most were 6 to 7 bucks a glass.

I didn't partake of the liquor but they had plenty of bottles to choose from.  At 6 or 7 for a beer I almost wish I had just done liquor.

They had a good atmosphere for a hotel bar.  It was louder and a bit wilder than you'd expect from your average hotel bar on the Friday and Saturday night.  There was leftovers each night from the hotel parties/events/weddings.  It made for a more lively group than a bunch of travelers like me.  Possibly too lively on the weekend if your looking for a calm drink at a bar before you pass out in the hotel room.

Its a great bar with overpriced beer and I'd definitely think of it as a good amenity of the Crowne Plaza.  It might even be worth going to if you're not traveling through the hotel.

My wife and I have been to O'Malley's a couple times for an early dinner.  If I had to rate the place on the fish and chips I would give it NO stars, but the burgers are good and the help is friendly so I give them 3 stars.

DO NOT order the fish and chips.  The fish was only half breaded, burnt on the ends and raw in the center.  It had a disgusting yellow color to the fish as well.  The fish came out looking like someone stepped on it.  However, the staff was kind enough to take it back and bring me yet another burger.

We will be back to try other items besides the burgers... someday.

Guinness, chicken quesadillas, a thick Ruben sandwich and the World Series (throw in a extra star for the Giants victory).

Really terrible bar food -- we all ordered something different (five of us) and the food was dry, the fries were lame.  We returned a second time for drinks only.  Good drink service initially, but closing bartender had a terrible attitude.  Really disapproving of people letting off a little steam, eye-rolling, etc.  Hopefully she was just having a bad day.

For a Sports bar/bar & grill this place is awesome.  Great pub feel, great barkeeps (Eric was king).  This is my 3rd or 4th time in there and whether I go in with a group or just myself I always have a good time.  The food is awesome barfare.  I like this place so much I'm staying at the Crown Plaza from now on when I come to Tysons Corner ( the bar is on the lower level of the Crown).

I have been staying at the Crowne Plaza this week.  O'Malley's is the bar at the hotel.  I have stopped by a few times this week.  Wait staff is always great and there are always plenty of them there.  I have heard no complaints from any guests.

I decided to eat here since it is my last night.  All the food I have seen being served looks very good.  I had the buffalo wings tonight.  They were very good and meaty.  I would take this over Buffalo Wild Wings anytime.

I like to think I'm as quick to praise as I am to criticize so after three days of eating at O'Malleys, and having previously been scathing about it's food, I have to say things have really improved.

This is a fun place with some of the most friendly staff anywhere and a killer pint of perfectly kept Guinness. That should be enough to make anybody want to go there.

Now the food has also stepped up to the mark. It's not fine dining but it is good and tasty standard pub fare. The fajitas were a sticky, cheesy delight with a punchy salsa, the shepherds pie hearty, comforting and tasty (I ate it twice in one day), the burgers meaty and messy and the cheesecake deliciously creamy and surprisingly good paired with Guinness :-) The only low point was the fish n chips with its unremarkable batter and slimy fries.

Who cares, it's a fun place to go!
