I don't find the new menu particularly imaginative, but the wings were pretty tasty. Never my first choice, but not a terrible after work spot nonetheless.

The Point has for a long time been a Sunday Funday type of place. The location for being right in the middle of midtown and the plaza is great.
Honestly, when I went it was all about the liquor. I cannot give you true insight on the food. I can say that the presentation looked good. The prices were great. It provided some aerial nose sensory smiling.
Now, with that being said. They have done some sprucing up recently a little bit. I think the menu changed a small bit in that. I always looked at it, I just never ate it.
The prices are very reasonable for cocktails. They have a decent  selection of beer and spirits. Nothing to high end. Just somewhere to go with your friends when you want to hang out and not be ashamed that you are wearing your pink sweatshirt and sweatpants that you just got that are glittery and bedazzled.

Kelli Daniels is the King Midas of KC Chefs... everything she touches turns into culinary gold! I'm glad that Good You has found yet another home for its unique and tasty food. Before Good You came to The Point I wouldn't have ordered anything off the menu unless I was pretty drunk because it just seemed like regular deep-fryer bar food. Now I will go here just to eat!

They have a ton of TVs and they play a bunch of sports so it's a great place to catch a game and take advantage of their many drink specials. Good You is serving up their signature "KC's Best Burger" as well as pizzas and appetizers like deviled eggs, wings, and nachos. The nachos in particular are delicious - perfectly stacked with toppings so that you don't have to scavenge around the plate to scoop things up. Thoughtful and delicious.

The Point was never bad to begin with, however with new ownership and a new menu to boot, it's damn good.

The new menu does away with deep fried everything and actually does a good job at making some pretty decent salads, appetizers and entrees. If you were ever looking for a cross between the Ingredient, Spin!, and a sports bar, this place is absolutely it.

Seating can get tight during a big game, but you can see a TV from everywhere in the bar. This place is walking a fine line between being the bar that it is and a moderately priced restaurant. Luckily for anyone visiting, it blurs the line wonderfully.

Tried the pretzels, pulled pork nachos, Blanca and The Dude pizzas in our group. All got rave reviews.

The Point started a new menu this week and it is amazing! The selection is so much more than sports bar food and it is very affordable.  I recommend the Blanca pizza, white garlic Alfredo sauce with chicken  and mushrooms. The burgers are new and improved and also a must have.

Obviously this place is an incredible deal - $10 unlimited happy hour from 7-9. They were even doing Corona bottles - love it! Because of said deal, however, the place gets pretty crowded, so I would suggest getting there around 6:30 and nursing a beer in order to grab a table.

Our waitress was super nice and extremely quick - please tip accordingly because the wait staff are great and I'm sure with this kind of deal they put up with incredible amounts of crap.

As far as ambiance, the place was your standard mid-range bar. I wouldn't say this is a "deep dive" but it's definitely not the classiest joint in town. Overall, it makes a great pregame and is within walking distance of the main part of Westport. i throughly enjoy this place.

We came for the happy hour thinking we would grab a bite and then spend the evening getting our boogie on.

Well... the food is low-low-low-end bar fare and service was a cluster. Someone from the kitchen delivered most of it and a couple of orders were flat-out wrong. The ones that were correct were missing pieces...

Happy hour was good, it took a few minutes to get going but once we did, the drinks kept coming. This is pretty much all that saves them from a 1 star review.

There was no boogy to be had. The DJ took an age to set up and over 2 hours after he started, the dance floor was still cluttered with tables. We gave up and moved on!

Might return for the happy hour but if we do we will make sure to eat somewhere else first and have a cab on speed dial for after HH entertainment.

Probably the best happy hour deal I have found in Kansas City so far. I met some friends here for drinks and food and when we got there it happened to be $10 all you could drink which was AWESOME! The only downside to this great deal is that it was super crowded and was hard to find a table to eat at. They have a downstairs to this bar but I wasn't a fan because the lighting was horrible and the ceilings are only about 6.5 ft high so I was paranoid I would hit my head on something.

Hello, dive bar. This is not your fancy P&L bar, but if you just want to go here to get your beer drinking on, this is your place.

As everyone else already said, they have a power hour on Friday's and Saturdays (7-9pm, AYCD for $10). The only reason I took off a star was because if you get a welI, they most definitely water that ish down. It's a shame I don't drink beer because you definitely get a better deal with the beer.

The bouncers here are as nice as can be as well. Great plus!

The Point does have a decent Happy Hour special Mon-Fri 3-7 $1 off drinks.

The service was better at the bar than the tables.  We had to move because the music was so loud we were yelling at each other.  The bartender who took over our tab was really attentive and seemed like she knew what was going on.

The food was "a-ok".  My BLT was a bit too crispy for my taste but the tots were spot on.  The tot portion was huge.  There were plenty to share.

We went here to use our Groupon.  I'm glad we did.  It's not necessarily a place I will seek out but it's a good Plan B if needed.

Great place to grab a beer (or beer tower) and watch the game. I really like the power hour, all you can drink from 7-9 for ten bucks! Never had the food, but my friends like the pizza.

The Point is a great bar to sit and watch football. On Saturday nights they have a projector and project a football game on the patio. Regardless of what people say, The Point is a Nebraska Football watching bar. Sure they play other games too but Nebraska is always on the main TVs. I am saying this because i was just there last night when Nebraska was playing at the same time as Mizzou. Some of the Mizzou fans were having a hissy fit about their game not being featured (it was still on). But c'mon, go to any bar in Missouri and the game will be on. Just give us Nebraska fans a few places to watch our game. Anyway...the beer prices are good ($2 for domestic tall boys) and the food is pretty good bar food. I've done the power hour ($10 all you can drink from 7-9pm on Fri/Sat) and that is hit or miss. When it is really busy in there it takes forever to get a drink but other nights its great.

I've been to The Point many times and it's just someplace that escapes my mind on a destination to go to on a weekend night.

What I like is that the service is generally good.  The basement is basically a cave full of douche bags along with a stripper pole.  It would be nice if it wasn't so crowded down there.  The dual patios are a nice touch, a definite plus there for when the weather is decent.  Plenty of room to dance and hangout on the main level.

The restrooms here stink bad like sewage, probably something to do with the city than the bar itself, but still an issue.

Overall, a good bar that is just outside of the Plaza.  Nice, mixed crowd, unless you are in the basement of douche.

I've only been to The Point on Fri or Sat nights since it's all you can drink (wells and beer) for $10 from 7-9 on Friday nights and from 8-10 on Saturdays.  It get's pretty crowded and it's a good idea to head over to the bar before your drink runs out only because the bartenders are busy talking to each other or watching the game which is playing on TV.  If they actually did their job then you wouldn't have to wait for your drinks.  That I think is it's only downfall. The crowd is pretty cool and I always have a good time here.

The Point is an ok bar, with ok being a little bit gracious. First off, the DJ is terrible, if you're a fan of early 90's/late 80's music poorly synced to the accompanying videos, then your in luck. However, if you're like the other 99% of the world, you problem don't want to dance to it. Secondly, the food situation, it's not clearly stated that the pizza isn't served past 12, which is a big disappointment, especially when it's 12:30, and you see random people walk in, and somehow they are able to get pizza, a big disappointment when you arrive at 12:10 and you're super hungry.

That being said, call drinks are $4, so I guess it's not the end of the world.

This would have been 4 stars for me until I went this Thursday for 8.95 Strip Steak night! It came with either Sweet potato fries, fries, or Mashed potatoes and a salad. I think it was one of the best strip steaks I have ever had.  Drink specials were nice too on Thursdays it was $1 off until 7 pm and $2 wells after.

Before this I have only been for power hours which are 2 hours of all you can drink for $10 on Friday and Saturday nights 7-9 I think.  I would still go to another but it does seem to take longer to get your drinks during this time then it would at another.  For power hour I would suggest going to the Dark Horse a couple blocks away for $12 if your a male 10 Female.  They give you 2 drinks at a time and the bartenders or quick.

Not really my style of place considering this place is a "dive". I love me some dive bar, but this kind of just felt post-frat-party, if you know what I mean. Granted, I wasn't in the best of spirits and had spent too much time at the Gran Falloon watching the World Cup. But it was just that kind of bar where the floors kind of feel sticky and you feel better standing than sitting on their chairs. Maybe I'm being too harsh, I don't know. But I did feel the need to call an additional friend for reinforcement to help facilitate a good time there.

The bartenders were really nice though. It was quite the saving grace. One of the bartenders even put up with a couple of difficult requests of some of my more difficult friends. I thanked her many times.  And just because I know you all were wondering, this particular bartender was more than just nice--she can make the infamous 'sex with an alligator' drink to the satisfaction of reality tv stars.

Kelsey's review is 100% true, but I'm going to be writing about something she didn't cover, the downstairs half of the bar, not the upstairs like Kelsey has, which is a different club with different music.

After 10pm until 3 am on Fridays (currently, the best show is Friday) and Saturdays, The Point has a basement (it's easiest to access it from the back of the building) that has a separate bar and is more of a dance club atmosphere.

This part of the establishment is a dance club. If you want to play pool or shuffleboard go upstairs. There's a dance floor that gets very busy after 11pm or so with benches around it and a respectable sound system. The bar area has several large tables to accommodate groups.

House, jungle, dubstep and breakbeat music is played, and it is catering more to the local electronic music scene rather than the club scene, meaning no Top 40 hip hop stuff, which is fine by me. People are dancing their butts off for hours at a time in this place.

Drinks are reasonably priced, and while they really need to do something about the men's restroom, I have nothing else to complain about with this establishment.

The Point has one of the best drink specials in Kansas City- all you can drink (wells and beer) for $10 from 7-9 on Friday nights and from 8-10 on Saturdays. They also have several TVs and a shuffleboard table, which can offer hours of entertainment.

They also have food, which is the stereotypical bar food and nothing special. I got a grilled cheese and fries, and my friend got the buffalo chicken sandwich, which was more spicy than you would expect.

The atmosphere is very dive bar, there is a downstairs lounge that offers music and is often booked for private parties. On the all you can drink nights, you'll find the bar packed with Rockhurst/Frat boy types, but who are all nice and just wanting to have a good time. The girls there are already dressed up to go out- and look a little out of place at 8 p.m.

The bartenders are really nice and usually make the drinks pretty strong. The waitstaff is okay...but usually they are so swamped it's practically impossible for them to service everyone.

However, if you just want a small, local place to chill with a few friends, then I definitely recommend the Point.
