I really want to like this place more than i do.  Everything is average, except the location.

I lived in Southie for several years and never made it over to Telegraph Hill. I went there last night with a friend who had raved about it since its opening. I went in with an open mind, but ended up very disappointed.

The waitress had a table of her friends at the restaurant next to us and spent the bulk of the time socializing with them. Normally that wouldn't bother me, but the lack of attention we received resulted in my order being incorrect. They had a special for a hot buttered lobster roll with onion rings which I ordered but was served a cold lobster roll dripping with mayonnaise with a side of undercooked french fries. When I mentioned this to the waitress, she rolled her eyes and brought out a side of overly battered and unpleasant tasting onion rings. We had also split a fried mozzarella appetizer, which I'm pretty sure was purchased in the frozen foods section of Stop & Shop. The service was subpar and the food overpriced and unimpressive. There are several fabulous places in Southie to grab a bite and a beer, and sadly this is not one of them. If you're looking for a better option, try Local 149 or Barlow's-great food, better ambiance and infinitely better service.

A great place to go for lunch or dinner, I don't think I've had anything on the menu that I didn't love.  Whatever is going on in the kitchen I don't know but they have it figured out.  The overall look of the restaurant is very new and modern.  It's not a big place at all but it's size creates a comfortable atmosphere that works.

Loved the Lobster Mac-n-Cheese, but they love to "over serve". I've been there maybe ten times, several different days of the week as I use to frequent Southie, and the bartender will pour booze into your mouth even if you fall over so as long as you're still paying. Most of the other food is pub-like.

Solid menu. The chicken pot pie is HUGE.

The lack of parking dings it a little but thats not the bar's fault.

Bad atmosphere and the staff doesn't try to make you feel welcome. During one trip I stopped by for one drink, paid, and left. The bartender told my friends that stayed that I had underpaid so that they would tip more. I had paid $7 for a $5.50 beer. Buyer beware

I am typically a big fan of Telegraph Hill. I enjoy their food and never have to wait in line to get in or wait a long time for a beer. I have brought many people to this place but after my run in last night with the owner Scott, I will need to take my money elsewhere. My friend and I were sitting at the bar, minding our own business when Scott tried to buy us a pickle juice shot. Not our thing, so we declined respectfully. Then I found out he is the owner and we are talking and I am complimenting the food at his establishment (compared to other restaurants) when he proceeds to call me a "prude" because I don't try other restaurants food, which was the exact opposite of what I was saying! When my friend told him that was rude and asked him not talk to his, his drunk rude self continued to talk to us and insinuated we leave by saying "bye" multiple times. He also told us our money was no good there when we tried to pay. I am sorry but I am pretty sure my money keeps you in business buddy. The bartender, Mike, saw the whole thing and was useless due to his allegiance to the owner. I tried to reason politely with the owner and explain to him how he was wrong in calling me a prude and how my friend did the right thing by asking him to leave us alone. He still owes us an apology but I can't respect a restaurant who doesn't value their customers and treat them with respect.

If you feel like talking to a belittling, degrading drunk then go find Scott!

I meant to post this earlier this week.  Was there on Sunday 12/16 and I witnessed the mgr/owner Scott, berate and belittle a waitress in the middle of the place.  Totally uncalled for and unprofessional.  I have been in here a couple of times and had this waitress and she was great.  This is it for me and Telegraph Hill.  Food is below par and drinks suck.  After seeing this jerk treat one of their employees like that I will never go back.  Southie has plenty of options.  My advice stay clear of this place.

Wow has Southie changed since I was young.  Where I am currently working i get caught at the light here and get to gaze upon this Establishment, so I wanted to try it.

Younger, upscale sort of crowd, even though it is across from the Projects.  Good ambience.  Lots of blonde wood.  Many TVs, a good place to watch the Game.  Good draft beer selection.

PULLED PORK SANDWICH:    Just OK.  Fattier than I like it, but I rarely order bbg.  The touted cole slaw was also just OK, over-hyped on the menu.  The spicy fries were not.

TURKEY CLUB:    GrandMa thought it was thickly-sliced deli turkey as opposed to sliced off the bird.  Just OK.

The Buf Nachos that went by me looked pretty good, as did the bread and bruschetta.  We  didn't order those though so I can't say.

Give this place a try for lunch or dinner and I promise you will not be disappointed. The menu is short but every salad is fresh crisp and delicious. Every item they offer is perfected. I had the spinach dip , iceberg wedge salad , and the turkey tips on risotto were to die for. Service from our waitress Milynda was kind and speedy. The bar tender , an Irish speaking lad was hasty and on top of his game. Highly reccomend it !

The reviews for Telegraph Hill are really all over the place. Might as well fall right in the middle with a solid 3 stars.

I came here on a Friday night and the place was almost packed. Service was a bit off basically as soon as we walked in until we left. I'm not sure if our waiter was new but he just didn't always seem to know the right thing to do. For example, we were asked what drinks we wanted before we even sat down, and my food came out wayyyy before my boyfriend's did. I hope he is new because these seem to be rookie mistakes.

Besides the timing, I really don't have many complaints about the food. I was a little surprised by the prices but the food came out in huge portions so it seems appropriate. I ordered the clam chowder (came in a giant bowl) and the Vermont goat cheese salad (honey fried goat cheese, candied walnut, tomatoes, caremlized onions, raspberry vinaigrette). The salad was a bit dry but the individual ingredients were all fresh and tasty.

I liked the decor but it was SO loud inside. Way louder than it should have been for the amount of people in there. Not sure what that was about.

I'm sure I'll be back, I'd like to see if things pick up on Friday and Saturday nights.

This is a nice little place in Southie that I like to visit on a regular basis. I enjoy the ambience, and the service is fast and friendly. It's a good place to stop by and have a few drinks with friends. It's not very big, but I think that the small size adds to its charm. They have a good selection of beer, as well as other alcohol, and the food is surprisingly tasty. A few of the things I've tried so far and enjoyed are the veggie burger, clam chowder, mac & cheese, and odd sounding but very delicious, the pumpkin ravioli. It also never hurts to be a total pig and just stop by for a beer and a side of house fries.

This is a great new place in Southie.  My coworkers and I have made this our new half day Friday spot, after having terrible experiences at Shenanigans, our place for over a year.  We've been once and at 2:30 on a Friday, we had the place to ourselves.  The size seems to be it's main downfall, but we made do with what we had.

The bartender/server was really nice and helpful.  She was patient with our large party and refilled drinks quickly.  The food was delicious.  We had a buffalo chicken dip that was smooth and creamy and a spinach and artichoke to DIE for.  The main draw was the delicious oversized pita chips that were served with it (the size of the dip and the amount of chips was dis-proportioned).

    We will definitely be back!

I live right down the street on Middle St, and there really isn't much going on as far as bars and restaurants in the Andrew Square area besides a couple dives and corner stores. While Stadium is a fun sports bar, Telegraph is a clean, upper scale type establishment filled with mostly young professionals (yuppies). Even though it is literally across the street from the projects, the crowd is always great, safe and fun. The food is excellent (had the reuben), great fries too. The beer selection is more expensive beers (whereas stadium has cheaper beers for sure). They do have specials as well. I believe 5 stars were warranted for the type of food, atmostphere, and drinks that they provide CONSIDERING THE LOCATION.

I used to avoid this place even though I live right around the corner, but now with the new chef and staff it's my favorite place. The chef used to be the head chef at Amrheins and he brought all this best dishes here, including his risotto and awesome all you can eat Sunday brunch. He came out and said hi and introduced himself a few weeks ago when I was there-- really nice guy. If you're wondering why Amrheins has suddenly gone downhill, it's cuz they lost Chef Richard.

They have hands-down the best burgers I've ever had and all the bartenders are super friendly and play great Pandora stations. I really don't understand the negative reviews on here since the new guys took over. If your biggest complaint is that it's busy, it's because everyone knows it's good!! I literally live a few doors away and used to avoid this place like the plague and now it's my go-to spot. I plan on making it a point to try everything on the menu (but it's hard cuz I love the burgers so much). I tried the pumpkin ravioli last night for the first time and it was amazing.

5 stars on the southie scale!

Do you want good food, and friendly service from a bar in Southie... well this is your only option.  Most places in Southie are awful...

Its a pub menu, that reaches to be a little more than burgers and turkey clubs... but is true to itself... and succeeds in being very good.  Their is nothing worse than a restaurant that reaches for the stars, but falls short... ok many things are worse but u get my point.

I got a pan seared hand carved pastrami... WOW tender. juicey and delicious.. This would be a 25$ sandwich in NYC.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the IPA beer menu... they mix and match IPA's and give them cool names like storm trooper and thunder dome...

Cheap, delicious, friendly, ton of TV's.... I'll be back!

On the days i drive to work, i usually sit at the nearby traffic light and stared in the windows of this fine establishment for months before deciding to visit.  The windows looked warm and inviting on cold nights, but there's not really much remarkable about the place.  That said, it's comfortable in a very plain way, and the server was very friendly (which initially came off like they were a bit bored).  Better still, they had Harpoon Leviathan IPA on tap.  After three of those, i had a great buzzed T ride home, so let's say i liked it.

Went here on New Year's Eve.  I was surprised on how nice the place looks on the inside, especially for the area.  The staff was pretty friendly and very inviting.

This place is small and the location is subpar as it is right across the street from the projects.  This place is more of a get away from the wife as opposed to going out to meet someone new.

To the meal...Dinner consisted of Steak Tips and Veggies for myself...and grilled cheese and tomato soup for my sister. First things first...$17 for steak tips is absurd for this location! Should be around $12. Either way to serve hot food on a plate that seemed to have been pulled straight out of cardboard box house of the bum out back makes no sense! Where are you fair Chef Richard the most famous Chef is Southie...chef 101 pal. Cold plates, cold food; hot plates, hot food. Steak tips were to cold to eat  after 3 minutes. My veggies...well which ones since I am guessing that they used every single one available threw them in a cuisinart and crucified each one! Spinach, tomatoes, Zucchini, Summer squash, red peppers, green peppers, peas, corn, carrots, broccoli. Just because you have them all does not mean you have to use them....Simple broccoli works wonders...surely Chef Richard can pull that off. Do I even need to talk about the tomato sauce he calls soup? Basically marinara sauce and a grilled cheese serve on a hamburger roll?? This place could be so much better...it was not working previously so they went out and hired this hack from Amrheins to save the day. Huge mistake...honestly the food at the stadium is better! Should have found an up and coming chef gave him the reigns and created a new destination spot. Would have cost you less and you would not be stroking the ego of this ass clown.

Dropped into this place for dinner and to catch the second half of the NC-Duke game Saturday night. It was new (to us), but came recommended, so we thought we'd give it the old beer'n'burger try. We were surprised on arriving at (a) how close it was to the enormous sports bar, and (b) how tiny it was--how can this place compete? The short answer? It can't. And I'm shocked to type this, because the sports bar is a barn with mediocre food and deafening sound levels. So when I say that the food and service are better around the corner, be forewarned.

We got there 9-ish, and the place was packed. We had to wade through the usual sea of smokers to get through the door. There were a couple of seats at the bar, and a table in front of the door. It being cold, we thought we'd try the bar, only to be told by the bartender that the seats were taken. Fair enough, those smokers outside had to have been sitting somewhere. We headed back to the table, sat down, took off our coats, and waited expectantly. And waited, and waited and waited. For 15 minutes we waited, looking around for a waitress, glancing back hopefully at the bar (bartender resolutely refused to meet our eyes or even look our way). The longer we sat, the more Twilight Zone it felt. We were customers, after all, this place is small, not only couldn't you miss us, but one would think every order would count in a place this tiny. It felt ... the opposite of warm and friendly was how it felt.

Eventually my husband went over to the bar to order a couple of beers and ask for menus. He returned with two small Mason-jar-like glasses of Lagunitas IPA that we were assured were pints but which didn't look it, and two oversized menus. Eventually a waitress appeared, who upon further observation was responsible for the entire room. On a Saturday night we were surprised, and were sympathetic when she finally made her way over to us (how long had we been here at this point? 20 minutes or so?), saying that she looked like she could use some help--had someone not shown up, leaving her in the lurch that evening? No, she was it, she replied. No matter, we ordered our standard we've-never-been-here-before-so-we're-just-being-safe bar meal ("Po' boys" in Southie notwithstanding) of cheeseburgers, medium-rare, one with Swiss, one with Cheddar, one with fries, one with onion rings, which we were told were made in-house. Mustard and mayo on the side.

30 MINUTES LATER our food arrives, on weird  white trenchers (beware "interesting" tableware in bars), God only knows how long it had been sitting in the kitchen, but the husband's mountain of fries are limp, tepid and greasy, the bacon strips on my burger very ditto, my "Cheddar" cheese two squares of partially melted Kraft American orange. I mean, my meal was at room temperature. Big bready buns, also cold. At this point we've been here pushing an hour, and we were hungry when we came, and we hadn't seen a lot of food coming out of the kitchen, so our patience with this was growing short. We managed to flag down the waitress, and pointed out the un-hotness of the just-delivered food, and by the way, what was this orange stuff? "It's orange Cheddar", she replied. So sorry about the coldness, the plate is whisked back to the kitchen. A bottle of French's has appeared, no mayo.

Food comes back, bacon looks like it was revived in a microwave, cheese warmer but still very orange, bun still strangely stone fucking cold--did they have a grill back there? Would it have killed them to stick those ginormous buns on the grill? Still no mayo, we again had to flag down the waitress and re-request, burger just getting colder and colder while I wait, numbly eating the decent but also room temp onion rings. Husband meanwhile is by this point  almost finished with his meal. Mayo eventually arrives. More beer is ordered to kill time while all this is dragging on.

By this point the Bruins game (apparently the attraction for most of the clientele) has ended and the place is now 9/10 empty, but the service still takes forever. We ask for the check, which also takes forever; in fact, there is a dreamlike quality to all of this, as if time itself has entered a no-passing zone. We desperately want to escape, but cannot even manage to accomplish this in a timely manner. The waitress asks without irony how everything was, apologizing (for the bacon? the room temp food?  the glacial pace? there were so many things to apologize for, and we simply didn't care anymore). A century or two elapse while we wait for our credit card's return, during which we agonize over the tip--should we leave one?  the food was awful, but was that her fault? no, but the service was dreadful, too. We wound up leaving something, and staggering out into the night, with an overwhelming sense of relief that we never, ever had to go there again.

Website: "We are dedicated to providing our customers with the best experience possible". Word up--this ain't it.  We miss Donovan's!

Give this place a shot, despite its low rating. They just hired a new chef (the one that used to be at Amrheins) and the food is great. We had the lobster mac and cheese and the Chef's burger.

There was so many big chunks of lobster in my dish, I couldn't finish the meal and the Chef Richard's burger was amazing. Our server was great, despite being the only young lady working the floor. It is a good space and with the new staff it will come around. They are also serving brunch on Sunday which we hope to check out soon.

Food is disgusting.  Kitchen is in basement, and they always forget about your soup or salad.  The place smells like rotten milk, can't believe they havent been shut down yet.  Bartender is nice, but as life long resident of South Boston I make it my mission to warn you all.  DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY AT THIS BAR.  The owners have bad attitudes and shady ethics. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere... Might I recommend Sophia's on Dot Ave, or even The Stadium, right next door!  God bless.

We love to go to Telepgraph Hill!!!  It's a small bar/restaurant and has come a long way in a year. If you go, sit at the bar!!! The bartenders are consistently good. There are some small table, but the sets are uncomfortable.

Food is really good. Steak tips are really good. Chicken Salad on marble bread is best chicken salad in Southie. I recommend ordering the steak tip skewers over rice too. They have a unique appetizer called MACARONI BALLS. They are like rice balls, but with delicious mac and cheese inside YUM!

Brian the bartender is a blast! Kelly is an adorable NEW bartender that is SUPER CUTE and SUPER SMART! Marc is a law student and is very interesting to talk to. Never a dull time at Telegraph Hill. Scotty one of the owners also has a TV/Sound System business and the place is STACKED with the best TV system in Southie.

Give the place a try if you havent been!

I really like the food here. The spinach dip is prob the best I've ever tasted. The sandwiches and burgers are huge and good! This place is great..not too crowded..good food..and not too pricey. Only problem is the seats aren't very comfortable so I can't hang there for more than and 1 1/2 hours.

Living nearby we checked this place out.  We were very disappointed with our visit to this place.  It looks pretty nice.  The food was not good.  A po' boy and a veggie burger took about a half an hour to come from the kitchen.  They were dry and had cooled off.  The po' boy was supposed to have gravy on it.  It didn't.  It was bought up too late.  The service was slow and confused.  The watress was polite and apologetic.  One round of drinks was deducted from the bill (we had two).  It was a week night and slow.  I don't know why there were so many problems.  We won't be coming back.

I usually never write reviews- but this place SUCKS. They not only over-price ALL of their beers and food, but the servers are incredibly rude! I have always appreciated flirty bartenders, yet these are a degrading, awful sub-species of man that have no purpose serving common people. As a group, the bartenders that worked on a recent weeknight were immature, crass, and unapologetic (sheisty!).

Ugh, this place has no business competing with Stadium, who has handsome men, drink deals, food deals, and incredibly accommodating staff members who want you to enjoy a great time!! Go to STADIUM!!

This is better than the reviews it's been given so far. For a pub and pub food it definitely does the job.

They have a big menu here, at least by pub standards.  They also give you pretty good portions and the price is competitive with everything else in the area.

The location is less than average for Southie and the interior while new is pretty bland.  It's also not the trendiest spot in Southie if that's what you are looking for. Those are my criticisms.

They have a lot of TVs so if you are going for a game you should have no problem viewing it.

Everyone I've met on this staff has been really nice.  They also carry a little more than your normal selection of beers.  It's not a spectacular beer selection by any means but at least you get more than just the standard Sam Adams and Harpoon offerings.  Last time I was there, they had some Oscar Blues (Dales Pale) on tap, as well as some other beers you don't see everywhere else.

I live around the corner and was excited to see a new place to go and grab a bite and a few drinks.  It is small, which gives it a little bit of local pub charm.  I am a sports fan, so I am happy they put in some good TV's for game watching.  The food is actually better than I expected.  The menu could be improved, but the Turkey Tips and Casadillas are very good.

No real complaints about this place, it's a solid bar to grab a quick bite and a few beers.

I've been sitting on this review for awhile. After all, mama always said if I can't say something nice... oh never mind.

So I can't call myself a Britophile, but c'mon - the bar's name is definitely alluring. Intrigue aside, an affinity for the shiny + new further beckoned while the extensive sandwich offerings and a respectable craft beer list sealed the deal.

What to order?  How could one NOT order the namesake po' boy when presented with the option? With shrimp, pulled pork, house fries, coleslaw and chipotle mayo on an artisan ciabatta roll, this beastly sandwich smacked of greatness... or at the very least, a heart attack. My friend ordered a burger figuring it was a safe bet. And then, the waiting began.

    ... and it kept going.

Then it continued for maybe another 20 minutes for a total of 40.

What the eff? Our server was way too busy touching up makeup to notice that our glasses were dry and our expressions had turned from amused to confused. Good thing some drunken patrons started an impromptu push-up contest on the floor for our entertainment. Funniest.Shit.Ever.

Our food finally arrived and rightfully so, my friend was annoyed his burger was without cheese. No problem - our server said she'd be right back with a slice and about 10 minutes later, returned with a cold piece on a plate. No melty? No good!

My whopping po' boy (clocking in at a whopping $13) was not something I enjoyed. At all. And after all the ballyhoo, all the suspense and all the tomfoolery (the drunken denizens easily being the highlight), we were ready to go. Only, it took about another 20 to get our check. Sense a theme? Smart cookie! I'll be surprised if this restaurant makes it another six months unless service gets an overhaul.

So I have been living in Southie for a few years now, and always like to check out any new place that is opening up. I also live not too far from here, which makes it super convenient for me to go to.

The place is smaller than most, but I am fine with that. It is not a place that gets rip roaring and you are going to run into people you haven't seen in 5 years. Instead, it's a nice place to go and have some beers and a bite to eat. The waitstaff is good, and they really do put forth some effort to make sure you are happy. I love the windows when they are open, and if you want to watch a game, well you can pick from anyone of their probably 20 tv's, which is pretty sweet. The place gets kickin' on Monday night beleive it or not. They do $0.10 tacos and trivia, and have whatever games are on going.

The only downside is depending on what id going on parking can be tough. I like this place a lot, and will surely keep it in my regular rotation.

I advise against the food for reasons unrelated to taste. I just went down to the restroom, and was greeted with an impressively foul smell. I noticed that the gentleman in the stall was wearing chef pants and chef mocks. I assumed my position at the urinal, only to hear the stall door fly open, and the guy jut out of the bathroom without washing his hands. Everybody poops, but chefs (and everybody else) should wash their hand afterwards.

Finally came back here the other day and tried it again after work. They've definitely worked out some of the early kinks.

The food was good, just like the first time around, but they've definitely got the fries worked out, they were good. And the service was friendly and definitely more attentive than the first time around. I was debating giving this place 4-stars, but its still the service that keeps me from doing so. As friendly as it was, there were still times where the bartender got caught up having conversations with other guests. Its definitely not a deal breaker, but for an establishment this size, I'd think I wouldn't be forgotten about.

Hopefully this place keeps getting better and better. The potential is definitely there!

Oh, and my previous review spoke to cell reception, which is still non-existant here (AT&T atleast). They do, however, have wi-fi now, which is a huge help.

    I didn't eat here...only drank here.

The place is smmmalllllll. Like really really small. There were about 8 of us and it felt like we took up the whole place! I had 2 glasses of wine. Each glass was $9. That seems a little expensive for the area. Other places have similar wines for $2 cheaper.

I may try it for dinner sometime, but its off the list of Friday night destinations.

I've been here for brunch, lunch, dinner, and just drinks. It's up and down, but so far never all that bad.

Some of the staff are super friendly and helpful, some slightly less so (it's never been awful though). There's a blonde bartender at lunch who's been really great.

The food has been fairly good, but burgers are inconsistently cooked. My medium rare burger is sometimes close to raw and sometimes more than medium. Sometimes the cheese is melted on the burger, sometimes it's just a slice placed there and cold. I do love all the options I can top burgers with. The mac and cheese was not my style, very watery and creamy but not very cheesy. Took tons of pepper to give it flavor. The chicken panini with goat cheese is very good, although I modify it some. They are great about substitutions.

The beer is decent but not fabulous. For the number of taps they have, they do a pretty good job. It seems to be getting more macro, but maybe that's due to local tastes that are not the same as mine!

The brunch is their strength in my opinion, except last time I was there all the dishes were egg based and they had no tea. Not even a lipton tea bag. It's been a bit, so maybe that's fixed.

Definitely has potential. The music gets a bit loud, especially on a quiet weeknight (although seems better lately). But I'll keep going...

Finally took the walk from City Point to Telegraph Hill today.  I've been excited to check out this bar after hearing that it had a good tap selection.

First impression that I had prior to stepping into the bar is that Telegraph Hill is definitely in a questionable section of South Boston.  I guess its a welcome addition since this bar fills a need for a "Beer Garden" type of bar in the area.

The bar itself was very clean and bright.  You can tell that its a very new establishment and I give them a lot of credit on the renovations that they made.  It's a very tiny place, although the bar itself is a decent size.  I'm not sure how crowded this place gets during the weekend but if its similar to Stats or the Beer Garden I'm staying far, far away.

Beer Selection - Very good.  There were 3 or 4 nice micros on tap along with a few sams, Magic Hats, etc.  Thought there would be a few more taps but not bad overall.

Food - I was actually impressed with the menu.  I'm growing awfully tired of seeing the same items on "Irish Pub" type of bars these days (ABG, BG, Whiskey Priest, etc), and Telegraph Hill sort of mixes things up. Not to say that there is anything game changing here, but the Po' Boys and Paninis are interesting.  The Po' Boys are HUGE.  I ordered the Southie Po' Boy and it was very good.  Unnecessarily huge, but very good nonetheless.

Service - I was pleasantly surprised after reading the other Yelp reviews of Telegraph Hill. My server was very politle and attentative.  My food also came out fairly quickly. No complaints here, although it was dead since it was about 3pm on a weekday.

The music selection was questionable at best.  I think a more mellow, laid-back selection would be more suitable at this bar then the top 40 hip hop crap that was playing.  This bar is so small that you are not going to see a night-club type of crowd here, so mellow music would be appreciated.

Overall I liked this bar.  I'm not sure why I'd be in this side of town, but if I am I will be back for a Po' Boy and a pint.

Been back a few times and will continue to keep this place in my rotation. Now that I've had a few of the menu items, I can say with confidence that the food is pretty solid. Definitely a step up from standard pub fare.

The bartenders are extremely friendly. At first. Once you are 3-4 drinks in, you see less and less of them and they don't seem to want to be your "buddy" any more. Not sure what that's all about, but not a big deal.

All in all, a good (read: mature) alternative to some of the 20-something spots like Stats, Junction, Beer Garden, and Playwright.

UPDATE 6/11: Got a turkey burger recently and it was beyond horrendous. Maybe the worst thing I've ever eaten. If you're going to have a limited menu, then don't mail in ANYTHING. I wonder where else corners are cut. Going to put Telegraph hill on the back burner for a while.

The place is very nice: bright, beautiful wood-paneling, big flat screens everywhere.  The beer selection is very good: craft beers like Rogue Dead Guy Ale and Alagash White, major micros like Blue Moon, Magic Hat and a couple each of Harpoon and Sam, and imports like Guiness and Peroni (which I have never seen on tap before).  Drafts are between $5-7.  If I was grading on aesthetics and beer alone, this place is 5 stars.

Alas, my group and I made the mistake of eating here.  The food was consistently mediocre.  Not bad, mediocre.  I had a the Mexican panini: the sandwich was super dry and not especially flavorful.  The "caprese" salad had one piece of mozzarella and was drenched in balsamic that was obnoxiously sweet.  The spinach and artichoke dip might as well have come from Applebees.  The calamari was plentiful but bland.

But the worst part was the service.  Our waitress looked high.  It took over an hour to get appetizers and as we sat there aimlessly staring at SportsNation in HD our group came up with 3 possible reasons why:

    1) This is a bar with a menu purely for show.  They don't actually serve food.

    2) Our high waitress forgot to put in our order.

    3) Our food has been ready for an hour but our waitress is super high and forgot.

Basically, this is an excellent bar that happens to serve food.  Stick to the drinks.

Stopped by this bar for lunch last week.  The place was pretty crowded with Bruins fans watching the game.  We got the last two seats at the bar.  We waited ten minutes for the bartender who looked like she was playing video games on the register.  We ordered drinks and asked for menus.  She then made rounds throughout the place taking orders and clearing food.  Twenty minutes later she returned with our drinks and menus (did I mention we were starving?).  She came back about 15 minutes later to take our order.  After a long 45 minutes a man emerged from the basement with our food.  My husband got the Italian burger, which looked and smelled great with cheese and procuitto.  My turkey burger on the other hand actually smelled rotten.  I took a bite anyway and did something I haven't done since the third grade,,,spit it out into my napkin.  Gross.  The french fries were good and I had to make a meal out of that because we didn't have the time nor interest in waiting another 45 minutes for something edible.  The waitress compained to us that the bar has no other help and she has been working 12 hour shifts.  It shows.  I wish them luck in trying to improve but we won't be back.  There are way too many other options around here.

The good: Great beer selection, pretty good food (although we didn't order much)

The bad:  Normally I would say that good beer and food would increase the stars for a place, however, the service is so terrible here that nothing can save it.  The waitress (black hair pulled back) is nice, but terrible at her job.  My boyfriend, his friend and I watched her pour the wrong beer and serve it to us twice while we were there, but didn't request the correct beer because we didn't want to wait another half hour to get it.  We got an app that needed flatware and she finally brought it after our food was cold.  Maybe it was busy?!  Nope, not busy.  She leaned against the back of the counter and looked around most of the time we were waiting.  A group at the end of the bar was rolling their eyes and loudly complaining about how poor the service was as well. I realize this place is new and needs some good press, but I think they will need to step up their service a lot in order to get there.
