We stopped into this place for a quick lunch while attending Book By The Banks (a must see).  I have eaten at other Champs which were pretty good, but this one was absolutely awful.  Two of us ordered wings... how do you screw up wings???  Well, they were even fried, they were baked or something.  The skin was like rubber, and I couldn't even finish mine.  My wife ordered the chicken quesadilla, and it was as equally bad. The tortilla wasn't even crispy and it was made with chicken breast lunch meat.

Like other reviewers, we were staying at the Hyatt and wanted a quick bite. Decor/atmosphere is typical sports bar. Only a few other people were inside and when they left, place was completely dead. Service was okay. Prices a bit on the high side for a place like this (think $13 for Chicken Club sandwich and fries).

After ordering I decided to look it up on Yelp and immediately started panicking. Surely the sandwich I had just ordered would be the worst of my life. Well, it wasn't. Not bad at all, actually. Neither were the fries or the chicken strips and garden salad ordered by others in my party. All in all, not bad. Only reviewing because I was genuinely amazed the meal wasn't terrible given the reviews on Yelp.

    Avoid!

We stopped in for an afternoon drink after a long walk in the heat. After sitting at the bar, we were helped after being looked at and ignored twice. I asked for water while I checked the menu and wasn't given it. The other bar tender finally rectified things. After that, I knew I didn't want a drink here.

My boyfriend got the mojito, which was on the menu, but the bar tender obv didn't know how to make one as he put sour mix in it. It was $9. I saw tables sit with ditry plates on it the whole time we were there. Service seemed to take a long time because the food is coming out a long way from the actual restaurant location and being walked over.

Only one guy there was personable, helpful, and knew how to talk to people at a hotel bar. Kudos to that one guy!

I would give 0 stars if that was possible.  We were staying here in the hotel and meeting friends here for lunch before heading to a concert.  We grabbed a table that someone else had just gotten up from, and the dirty dishes were eventually cleared (I know that servers hate if you grab a dirty table, but this was "seat yourself" and it was the only table available).  They never wiped off the table.

We waited forever for the first round of drinks, and the cocktails were terrible. Watered down, tasteless, $10... bad.  We finally got menus and put in our food order when our server reappeared after about 20 minutes. Our glasses were empty already by the time we ordered our food.  Our server did not come back and our food didn't show up for AN HOUR.  We watched a food runner who kept bringing trays of food out and sitting them on the bar, and the servers would walk by them for 10 minutes before anyone would try to get the food to it's destination.  People at the bar waiting to get drinks would be leaning over and standing over the trays of food as they sat on the bar getting cold and nasty.  Our server didn't come back once between the time that she took our food order until the food arrived, one hour later.  I understand that a server isn't the one cooking the food and has little control over the kitchen, and if she had come by occassionally to get us another round of drinks and check on us, and let us know what was going on in the kitchen, this would honestly have not been a huge deal.  Instead, we sat there with a table full of our first round of empty drinks and watched table after table get up and walk out, pissed about the wait or lack of service.

A manager was walking around, talking to tables and appeared to be trying to help out, but for whatever reason she walked right past our table the entire hour and never asked how we were doing or could we use another drink.  My husband said, "They are missing out on so much revenue here!  We would have had at least 3 rounds before the food arrived if they would have just asked us!"

It was top 3 worst dining experiences I have ever had in my life, and every table was getting the same service.  There was an empty table right next to ours, and 3 different groups came in, sat, and left after 15 or 20 minutes of never even being greeted and asked about drinks.  Another table went to the kitchen to get silverware for themselves, and ended up getting some for all the tables around them because no one had any.  This place was a complete train wreck.

We stayed at the Hyatt last night for the Kenny Chesney concert and decided to stop into Champ's for a bite and a drink before heading to the show. We got there at about 10 after 1pm. The place was not too busy. We grabbed a table that had just been vacated. A server came over a few minutes later and cleared our table, but did not wipe it off. Then about 15 minutes later, someone took our drink order, but no menus. After a wait for drinks, a menu arrived. Not a good sign and we should have taken the hint. A solid hour after our orders were placed, our food arrived. During this time no one checked on us, refilled our drinks, nothing. Tables around us were getting restless. Several people complained. NO ONE, not even a manager checked on us, apologized, nothing. I was appalled. Our server gave a half sorry about some big party that we could not see. Big parties I understand. However, you cannot ignore the rest of the restaurant. Apologize. Fill drinks. Stop by occasionally to check on your other customers. As for the food, it was less than average. My friends cobb salad looked worse than McDonald's. My husband's $14 burger had one tiny mushroom on it. It was beyond pathetic. I only ate my nachos because I was about to pass out from hunger. We are a group that would drink and eat and happily pay to do so. However, with the sub par service, I will not pony up my money. I will say that when we complained to the hotel, our meal was removed from the bill.

I have to say, it takes a lot to get me to complain. Even more so for my husband to do so. With that said, I do hope they get it together. Our city is on display for the next couple weeks and I would hate to leave a bad impression with the entire world.

I will start off by highlighting the fact that we never actually ate a meal here.
The wait was over an hour though there were plenty of open tables.  Seems like though all the hotels were booked, no one told the restaurants - even the ones attached to hotels.  Either the kitchen or waiters were short staffed or both.
The menu was super expensive and not diverse.  $16 hamburgers, a few sandwiches, and salads - all pricey.
Overall I was not impressed. Totaly unorganized, chaotic, and uninspired.

The food selection was horrible and the taste was not that great. And because the restaurant was empty, our server came to our table at least 20 times to check to on us. In my opinion, Frisch's & Wendy's have better food.

enjoyed the food more than once...my recent experience was very good with a corn chowder stealing the show.  Skirt steak salad was good but needed to be a big larger and presented differently.

don't be scared of hotel food here...it's pretty good.

I was on a search for some late night dinner and ended up at Champs, because they were still open past 10pm. I was very pleased with the service. I sat at the bar and was served by Jerry. He was amazing, Friendly and attentive.

I ordered a couple cocktails and they were some of the best cocktails I've had. I also ordered the chicken sandwich with onion rings. Delicious! and the wait was very minimal.

I will definitely suggestion Champs to friends.
