    miami pacers
sam brick red is on tap here
    watch sports, drink alone

This is probably the nicest bar in the Cleveland Circle area.  They have a decent menu (ahi tuna salad, sweet potato fries, along with the usual bar fare).  They have outdoor seating.  The windows open up nice in the bar downstairs in the summer.  And I find more of the Cleveland Circle locals/young professionals here than, say, at Roggies.

If you're looking for a decent bar/food/hang out and want to avoid undergrads (as much as you can in this area), you may pay a little more, but the quality and the atmosphere is here at CitySide

This place is great if you want to pay a little bit more and sort of tuck in for the evening at a single bar. The beer is your average Boston $6 a pint, but they do have specials on Miller/Bud drafts. They do have a great selection of drafts and the downstairs has a ton of T.V.s for watching sports and the upstairs has a lot of patio space where you can people watch, see the lake at the Chestnut Hill Reservoir, and the surrounding hills. It is a very relaxing bar/restaurant.

On the weekends it is packed with B.C. students, but chill on most week nights with good specials (half priced burgers on Wed afternoons!) and really friendly waitstaff.

The food is good too, my husband and I loved the Rattlers (an appetizer: shredded chicken, ranch, pepperjack cheese, and habanero salsa in a wonton wrapper), the Parmesan Chicken sandwich, and the Hickory BBQ burger.

It is a great place to spend a couple hours eating, sipping on a beer and people watch/watch the game. But you are going to pay a little bit more for the atmosphere. Still, we usually spend around $30 for the both of us for dinner and a couple drinks-so it isn't too bad.

I would recommend it-a great way to spend a hot summer night!

Let me first start off by saying our service was outstanding.
After a long day starting off at the Harpoon Brewery, and slowly making our way back to Brighton, all we wanted to do was cool off (it was around 90 degrees plus humidity), eat and get a few more drinks.

Because we had 10 people coming to dinner, we were sat upstairs where the A/C was less than ideal.  We moved around the large extra unit towards our table.  So it was hot, but we had our own area of the restaurant.

Our waitress was great, she was very attentive and joked with our table.  We were ready to invite her to sit with us!

The food was really good, my blueberry lemonade (I think) was delicious.

The only big issue that my tablemates complained about was the blurry tv.  Since the screen was stretched, it made for annoying edges.  If you are a bar, you probably should set your tvs to the correct sizes.

I have a few issues with CitySide, but all in all I'm pretty satisfied.  Problems include slow service (one waitress for the entire restaurant? Are you mad?!) and higher food prices than I want to pay at a pub.  That said, my Cobb salad was excellent (plentiful avocado; always a plus) and my dining companion's fish and chips were reasonable (the fish was left in the fryer a touch longer than I would have preferred, but was still reasonably moist).

The draft list is pretty solid (two kinds of cider, with most drafts priced at $5) and the open windows and upstairs area are a nice touch on warm (but not too warm) days.  All in all, a nice local spot.

    Pro-tip: seat yourself.

This is just okay.  Most often filled with college kids.

This is an update to my 2008 review. Cityside has undergone a renovation of its building and its menu over the last few years, with mixed results.

First, the good: The new building is definitely nicer than it used to be. The layout remains fairly spacious with the upstairs and downstairs bars and seating areas, and the roof deck is always fun for good-weather meals (though there can be a bit of a wait to sit there). The general vibe remains pretty relaxed, and with all of the TVs you can definitely keep up to speed on how your teams are doing.

Now, the mixed: Though the menu has also seen some improvements, the quality of the food can be really hit or miss. A month ago I had steak tips here that were utterly delectable, and the turkey and pear panini has also been really good when I've ordered it (especially if you get it with the waffle fries, which are always crispy and amazing). But then I tried the fish & chips this past weekend and the dish was borderline inedible: the fish was so overcooked I could barely cut it with a knife -- couldn't cut HADDOCK, one of the flakiest meats in existence. That ain't right. My dining companion also got a burger, and while the meat itself was fine, the waitress did not ask how she'd like it done (which would have been medium) and it came well-done -- so it lost a lot of the flavor.

Additionally, the menu here seems to change every six months or so: I came here last year with out of town guests, and one of them got a pulled pork pizza that was to die for, but it's no longer on the menu (and the "build your own pizza" list does not include any of the necessary ingredients). A few other things that had caught my eye in the past have also gone missing, though their chocolate peanut butter pie is finally back, and that's terrific news.

Bottom line: I know I'll wind up eating here again at some point, for convenience's sake if nothing else. But I'd advise all patrons to tread carefully when selecting their fare.

I was more impressed by the customer service than the food, to be honest.
It was a windy day and twice my friend's drink was blown over, spilling it on the floor. Fortunately, she was given a refill. Secondly, they were very accommodating with my bunless burger request. The burger itself wasn't memorable. It was good, but average. The mojito I had was also average. Their rattlers appetizer was probably the only interesting thing we ate.
Bottom line: great service, food is average.

This is more like a 3.5-star review... But I was pleasantly surprised by their food menu. I had some chicken pasta dish that was actually good; not exactly North End cuisine, but it sufficed. They also had some paninis I'd love to try; one had pear/apple or something, so they certainly surpassed my expectations for creativity. Their beers on draft are fairly limited, though, so that's a bit of a downer if you're a beer drinker craving something better than just the regular Bud, Coors, Sam, etc. I'm a big sports fan, so I love having the TVs there, especially when they have the windows open--really refreshing when the weather's nice. It does get a bit crowded sometimes, but with such a prime location, that's to be expected. Considering it's consistent and predictable, in a good way, I'll definitely be back.

Well, I suppose CitySide is good in the sense that it's very convenient to where I live and serves alcohol...but if that's the only thing I needed out of a restaurant, then it would have gotten more stars.

The service here is typically very sub par, you'll be seated (or seat yourself downstairs) and it's almost like a game of cat and mouse trying to get your waitress to pay attention to you. If you drink your water, don't even think you'll be getting a second glass, because it likely won't happen. You need to savor your water. The food I've ordered here has always been lacking. From nachos that are pieced together entirely out of canned contents, to queso that's luke warm and chunky, to pizza that's slightly singed...I mean, I'll eat it, but I won't like it.

However, they have alcohol, and their bartenders are much more attentive and friendly than their waitstaff, so that's a plus. They make decently strong drinks and will also make you drinks they haven't heard of if you tell them what goes in it. The sangria here is so so, nothing to write home about though.

I'm giving four stars for the service that we received from the manager last night.

I came in with three friends after we scoped out the hour wait at The Publick House and we were seated upstairs in the bar section. The hostess ascertained (but did not card) that we were all 21 or over, which was pretty funny as we range from 40-60.

They have Bushmills, which is a plus for me. I asked the waitress how the pizza was and she said she hadn't tried it. So, for anyone else who wants to know, it's not good. I ordered a Margherita Pizza and was served a burned cheese pizza. Everyone else's food was fine and my husband particularly liked his turkey burger.

I pointed out the pizza issue to the waitress, who had told us it was her second night, and she said, "sorry" and walked away. OK! I asked my group if it would embarrass them if I kicked it up a notch and they told me it wouldn't, so I took the pizza up to the bar, asked if there was a manager around, and left it with them.

The manager came over and was extremely nice. He asked if I wanted my money back and if I wanted anything else on the menu. Then he told me all of our food was 50% off. This is by far the best customer service I have had in a restaurant in awhile, including the fancy pants steak restaurants I fancy.

So, congratulations on turning some cruddy customer service around. Four stars for you.

I'm going to get hungry just writing this...onion rings, pulled pork, wings, all delicious. Beer list is large and varied. I love sitting out on the deck in the summer. Also fun to sit at the bar and watch the game!

I think CitySide is a good spot for a neighborhood bar. Good beer selection, decent prices, good food. I always eat simple at places like this, got the buffalo wrap and it was good enough to get again. They have curly fries, plus 10 points.

Definitely preferable over Roggies, if you aren't doing the Roggie's "happy hour".

Went here for brunch for the first time, worst experience I've ever had. I've worked in the industry for 6+ years so I know how things operate and this was just awful. Our server Sam was what made our experience so bad. People's food came out at different times, food was wrong and or cold. He never returned to check on things or ask if we needed anything. My boyfriend and I were the last to join our group so naturally our food would come out last when in-fact it was not. Safe to say everyone had issues at the table but this is just based on what I dealt with. With the number of mistakes I would understand if the place was packed and the kitchen was a zoo but it was empty in there. I ordered scrambled eggs with cheese, pretty simple if you ask me. My food was delivered and it was missing cheese, only after repeating our order twice. So I kindly asked Sam if I could get some cheese on my eggs. Maybe its my fault for not being clear that I wanted hot eggs with melted cheese but when my food was returned eggs were cold and there was one slice of unmelted cheese on top of my eggs. Come on really? I looked at our server and asked if he was serious. His response was "oh you wanted shredded cheese?" Also upon returning my ohhhhhhh so delicious looking slab of cheese on my eggs my boyfriends omelet somehow became a sandwich. Took my plate back to the kitchen, and at this point everyone is done eating.

Some time passes and I see a chef walk up to our server next to the computer with eggs with melted cheese. When he tried to hand it to our server he said "oh I don't need it anymore". Needless to say I went breakfast less and not by choice.

Never once was an apology given. A simple "sorry guys having a bad morning" would have been enough for me cuz sometimes we just have those days but instead he stood in the corner with a pissy look on his face and neglected our table. With the number of complaints I'm shocked management never came over to apologize for issues. Customer service = no bueno.

This review is for the food/service only on an afternoon meal.

The outdoor seating is very nice, but the food was less-than-spectacular.  The chowder I ate was like water - it really was quite a poor excuse for soup.  The steak tips that my friend ordered were actually really good, but my other friend's pulled pork was not that great.

We all ordered the chips & artichoke dip as an appetizer - the dip was just like my soup - watery and no flavor. I ate it because I was hungry and the chips were fine, but I got the impression that this place isn't that great for a good meal.

CitySide is only a decent bar for Boston but it is an above average bar for Cleveland Circle and the other outlying areas (Allston, Brighton, etc.). I will say that the deck makes it an exceptional area to grab a beer and some dinner during the week but I definitely wouldn't make this my ending spot. I've gotten the California burger both times I have come here and was very satisfied both time. They give you a wide variety of sides which is pretty cool so they definitely have the food aspect down. Food is probably a little more expensive than typical bar food, but I will say that it was enjoyable.

Decent selection of beer as well, just not a fan of the fact that its simply BC kids (I know don't go to a bar across the street if you don't want to be with BC kids blah blah blah but I'm still going to complain about it). Definitely not the best spot to go to if you are a beer connoisseur though (Publick House is right down the road).

Overall, lots of BC kids, decent food for a bar, and the roof deck is sick.

It's kind of hard to rate a sports bar when you are not into sports, but I guess I can give it a shot.

There certainly are a lot of TV's here, so you can be pretty sure to catch the 'action' so to speak of your favorite team.  It can get quite loud, so it's not really a good place to try to stop in for a quick bite and some conversation, but there seems to be a lot of yelling when people watch these sports events, so I guess that is expected, maybe the players can hear you, who knows.

The menu is decent and quite yummy.  They have a decent beer selection.  While in my opinion this place is not worth going out of your way for, I think it's a good place to hang out and catch the game

Came here for Stump Trivia - because our usual place Green Briar had an event going on.   It is not the best place for trivia, we were by the speaker and we couldn't hear what was going on.

The food is typical bar food, can't really expect awesome.

the place is a good place to drink and chill but that is about it.  Wouldn't really recommend Trivia here.

A great traditional bar in Cleveland Circle. Another bar I would avoid on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights to avoid the college crowd. This is a traditional Boston College bar.

Menu is okay. Selection of beers great. Traditional wooden bar.

I recommend the patio to enjoy beautiful Boston weather. The upstairs bar tends to be more lively than the downstairs bar. The downstairs bar is great for a low key night. There are lots of TVs making it great for enjoying the game.

GAH!  They changed the menu months ago and took my cheeseburger club off!  This is really the only thing that I got here but I craved it obsessively.

I literally have been searching for another place that does is comparable but have yet to find it.  If you know of an amazing cheeseburger club, please let me know! =(

This is solely a review for the Wednesday karaoke night.

Nothing annoys me more than a bar where the owners seem to have thought, "hey, we have five square feet in a corner and an electrical outlet, let's have a karaoke night!" The lyrics screen is on the wall, so you have to have your back to the bar in order to see the song. if you're an attention junkie like me,  you'll appreciate how awkward the setup is.

The KJ had the ability to download new songs, so I am proud to say that I introduced CitySide to some "Gucci, Gucci" karaoke. The sound system just sounded off, though, and I think it made some people sound screechier than they would have otherwise. (Not me, though, I am a veritable nightingale. Oh yes.)

Finally, I was beset by both fruitflies trying to get at my drink and roving swarms of bros in suits trying to get at the songbook.

Nothing amazing, but I'm sure I'll be back since CitySide is two blocks from where I stay when I'm in town.

I've been to CitySide at least 5 times now. I've never had a problem with anything while visiting.

I work for a radio station and last night we did an event here. Brian, the manager, was so helpful with everything that needed to be done. The bartenders were great too, interacting with the crowd, making it more enjoyable for them. Even the security guy was great too!

I've eaten at CitySide twice now. The food there is very good. Last time I was there I got a buffalo chicken wrap. It came out the way that I had ask for it and it was great. My boyfriend got the 25 cent wings and he really loved them! We definitely wish were closer to CitySide so we could make this our hangout spot.

All in all, whenever I'm in the Brighton/Brookline area, I'm going back to CitySide!

I find myself on the fence.  I was here last week for the first time in a while and I am a bit disappointed.

The food was very good as usual, the service was very good as usual, and sitting outside on the patio overlooking Cleveland Circle was good as usual.  I had the grilled chicken sandwich which added buffalo sauce to and had the waffle fries.  Tasty, tasty, tasty.

What I did not like was that they completely remodeled the place.  It is quite nice inside, much more modern sports bar.  The upstairs dining room on the right, my favorite spot in the place, was turned into another bar area.  My beef is that it is now too "nice".  Back when I was a BC student, I liked the kind of slightly dumpy, cozy, homey feel to the upstairs dining room.

Perhaps the change was necessary, and perhaps if going there for the first time, I would really like it.  However, for me, the "improvements" kind of ruined it for me.  Oh well, I guess I am getting old.

Having been in Boston for the first time, I really enjoyed this Sports Bar.

I love the TV access on every side you could imagine.  The food was pretty good and the service was pretty top notch

I loved that the upstairs had a patio joint and you could enjoy the day.  I went when it was a beautiful 60 degrees and had the sun shining in your face.

I would definitely hit this joint up if you like bar food and looking for a good place to enjoy sports and chow down on some decent food

City Side is in some ways a clone of every other sports bar you have ever been to.  If it involves a ball, it'll be on one of the 9474298927 televisions mounted to the walls.  The beer selection is pretty standard and the food is the usual bar faire.  That being said, CIty Side is far cleaner than most sports bars I've been to around the city.  The staff does a good job at keeping the bars presentable and the table set-ups ready for guests.

Another key ingredient that helps to make CIty Side a bit different is that they have a patio off the upstairs room.  There are no televisions out there and the BC drunks tend to stay inside close to the taps.  This makes CIty Side a decent place to check out on a summer or spring evening.  Overall the place is ok and probably the best option for drinks in Cleveland Circle.

Went here a year and a half ago for my birthday.  Friends took me for Trivia Night.  I'll give this place a thumbs up!

We got a wide assortment of food and everyone seemed pleased by it.  Drinks are pretty cheap and there's a decent selection.

It's a fun place to meet up with people and hang out.  When the weather's warm, it's nice to check out the patio area.

Big groups can hang here with no problem at all.

This place isn't really my scene, but it's a pretty typical bar, with decent bar food. Well maintained place, and a lot of TV's. Reminds me strongly of the Joshua Tree in Davis-same clientele and music. I am pretty neutral on their sweet potato fries, which are usually a make-it-or-break-it sort of thing. But meh. The service, though it was on a holiday Monday, was excellent. The music was obviously someone's ipod, but it seemed to be the sort of stuff you'll hear on 9.29- older pop-rock.

Though it's too late in the season, I'll be back next summer for their upstairs patio. Too many patios have "views" of residential building's fire escapes, but this one overlooks the street.

I had never been to Cityside before the renovation, but even walking by the place I knew the renovations made the place 1000x better.

I've been here a handful of times, I've gotten to know their bathroom very VERY well...but I digress.

The beers on tap are plenty and delicious. They always have at least 3 or 4 taps that I enjoy and drafts go at about $5.50 which is pretty much average.

The food here is tasty as well. I've had a few of the sandwiches, some appetizers, and they have all kept be quite satisfied. I'm itching to try the brunch menu, but haven't gotten to it yet.

Obviously the roof desk is awesome, and great for people watching (especially if you get the seat near the edge). They do close it kind of early, and I think it would be awesome if we could drink out there, but I guess they might be afraid that some drunken BC kid will fall off the balcony. BC kids always ruin the fun.

Friendly people, good food, great beer, nice atmosphere. I'm glad Cityside is my neighborhood bar (Sure beats going to Mary Ann's ::shudder::)

The renovated, gentrified Cityside definitely attracts less down-on-their-luck oddballs than the earlier, more dive-bar-style version where I used to watch college basketball with friends. I do have fond memories of the old Cityside -- one night, a guy with very few teeth asked me to write my phone number on a napkin.  I politely declined. He's probably over at MaryAnn's across the street now.

Surprisingly, one of the tastiest salads I've had in recent memory came from the new, swankier Cityside. Panko-encrusted goat cheese (two large balls of it....wow, that sounds gross) arrived atop a healthy portion of spinach, cranberries, and walnuts. The dressing came on the side without me having to request it that way, which I always appreciate.  My companion's turkey club looked delicious as well.

The drinks are priced reasonably -- even specialty martinis will only run you $8, compared to $10-12 elsewhere. I tried a Cherry Bomb (cherry vodka, pomegranate juice and Red Bull), which I half-expected to be disgusting, but was actually not bad.  Tasted a little like cherry cough medicine, but I kind of like cherry cough medicine!

All in all, Cityside has lost some of its grungy charm, but you're less likely to get food poisoning now and it's big enough, with the deck and expanded upstairs, to accommodate large groups.

Having never been to CitySide, I can't say that I saw it before its recent renovations.  I can't really compare the two.  What I can say is that the place looks really nice, and the drinks are good.

I started out my evening with a Jack and Diet Coke before going over to beer: it was a good start, and the price was decent.  Overall, the beer and drinks prices weren't too bad, with most draft beers around $4.75 for the good stuff.  I didn't get a chance to try the food, but it looked good.

The entire bar/restaurant is really nice: there's a lot of area for people to hang out in, and the upstairs is nice for hanging out (sadly the outside was closed by the time we got up there, but it looked nice).

Our waitress was a little overwhelmed so I ended up going straight to the bar, which worked out fine.  Service was good upstairs.

Also, major ups for having a decent jukebox variety.

Oh, I see I'm at CitySide, where I've very purposefully gone in order to, well, eat at CitySide!  What kind of fun and exciting menu items are going to be offered to me that I cannot find anywhere else?  What kind of unique atmosphere will I be able to soak up during my meal experience?  I'm so looking forward to dining in your establishment, CitySide, your specific restaurant - so much so that I drove all the way from the Davis Square area to be here and wait for a seat on your roof deck.  Let's do this.

I'm sorry, I think you accidentally gave me the menu for The Joshua Tree Tavern.  You see, CitySide, the thing is that there's a Joshua Tree IN Davis Square, one that I could have walked to.  There's also a Tavern IN Porter Square that I also could have walked to, AND one in Central Square that is in a much closer proximity to my apartment.  And I don't know if you know this, but (shhhhhh...): there's also a Joshua Tree just up the road that serves all of the exact same things.

Oh, you DO know that?  Oh.  And what, you just don't care?  Well yeah, I DID notice that the sign was the exact same red and black as... well why would I assume that those people bought YOU too and then just gave you a makeover and changed everything about you except for your name?  Well of COURSE I'm not going to assume that, I mean why wouldn't they just change your name too?!  Why can't YOU be another Joshua Tree or another Tavern?  It just doesn't make any sense to me!  If you clone a sheep, you name that new fucking sheep the same goddamn name as the original sheep!  At least I would!  Because I am a fan of a little thing called logic, CitySide!  And no, I don't understand why the Taverns aren't Joshua Trees, and why the Joshua Trees aren't Taverns!  What is it?  What is it that you want me to say?  You want me to admit that I don't understand?  Okay, fine:  I DON'T UNDERSTAND!!!

Whatever, I'm tired of typing like I'm talking to the restaurant.  One star for the roof deck, one for the fact that the food is decent.  Negative one for this situation being annoying, and negative two for it producing a level of confusion that I find almost offensive.  I mean, come ON, you can't start a chain restaurant and then NOT call them all the same thing, right?  Is that allowed??  If it is, it shouldn't be.  It's an act of trickery on the public.  THIS IS A HOUSE OF TRICKERY!

    The end.

Mehhhhh..... I've been to the CitySide once and was never compelled to return.

But I returned for another chance for Joey's Going Away & Amanda's B-Day Party and again mehhhhh.... still not compelled to return, but will be back for Bradford's Going Away when that comes up in August.

Their wings are alright. Their Pineapple & Malibu was on the extremely lightly poured side... it was more pineapple juice than Malibu.

The deck was closed early and so it was extremely warm on the second floor come 11 pm.

On the bright side, their ladies room is extremely clean!!!

While the roof deck was nice... it was saddening to find out how EARLY they shut it down! 11-11:30pm? Really? Why????

Everyone I was with seemed to have a good time, and were enjoying their drinks. I came here straight from the airport (word to the wise, this trip will cost you about $50) so was happy to see that we had a good amount of people hanging out in one spot upstairs and I was able to socialize w/o being overly crowded and not able to move like is the case with some bars.

From what I could tell from others reactions, their drinks were made well. I had some high quality h2o this night, and that's about it so I can't speak on the strength of the alcoholic ones that others enjoyed. I'd be up for coming back here and checking it out again on a nice summer night... but I'll take the T and save the $$. haha

Middle ground across the board here i'm afraid! i liked it better before though it's definitely nicer now. They did away with the Big Buck Hunter (as far as I could tell), added a bunch of cute waitresses and moved the bathrooms upstairs. They did add a bunch of stuffed burgers which were very good as well as some different options for fries.

I would have given this place three stars before cause the 'ambiance' (or lack thereof) but now it's lost a little bit of that soul that comes with a place that serves wings and beers and let's you kill video-game deer. But they added stuffed burgers... so it's a draw...

CitySide's second floor patio highlights Cleveland Circle dining at its best: The view of Applebee's, the Circle movie theater, the T-stop and the Dunkin' Donuts, mingled with squeal of metal on metal as yet another streetcar narrowly avoids derailing as it swerves around Chestnut Hill Avenue and into the Reservoir car yard is not to be missed.

I should have known better than to order the chicken teriyaki rice bowl and I alone bear that responsibility but anything that's been breaded, battered and deep-fried beyond any recognition of its original nature should be fine.

The servers are young and attractive, especially in the summer, when they're nearly unclothed, which almost makes up for their lack of personality and competence.

    Almost; but not quite.

Everything about this place is just meh.  The food, the drinks, the space (though the balcony in the summer is nice), the people...meh.  Out of all the Cleveland Circle bars, this one is the least undergrad-y (not to say that you won't find a slew of undergrads here on any given night) and seems to attract the grad student demographic/stereotype.  CitySide is one of the nicer bar restaurants in the area, but that's not really saying much.

If you're up for a movie at the beaauiitfulll Circle Cinemas across the street, you can get a discounted ticket from CitySide.  I forget what the exact deal is, but ask.

Saw Game 1 of the 2004 WS, came here for brunches with friends on Saturdays, got beers here after movies or when we just needed to get out of the apartment, but didn't want to go far.

Every time I have been there, it has been full but not crowded, with some douches but not a ton. The bartenders pay attention to you. The food and service upstairs is fine, but not outstanding. So not outstanding that I can't recall what I ordered (I DO remember being upset at the price).

Go here after a movie, if you want a quick low key drink or to watch the game. or just want a beer on a crisp weekend afternoon. Don't bother with the food - Pino's next door can do better for less.

This place is consistently disappointing. The door staff is impossible. Just because I have an out of state ID does not mean you can treat me like I handed you a playing card with a $20 bill attached. They jump on the defensive immediately, demanding everything short of a DNA test to let you in the door. Policy is policy, but a little politeness goes a long way. Especially if I'm going to pay $6 for a pint from the sub-standard beer selection.

The scene can be disappointing, I think because the door staff makes it mind-numbingly painful to get in. All in all, when friends want to go to CitySide, my typical reaction is "aw...do we have to?"

I agree with Emily A's review, but I thought I should reiterate that this place serves crap on plates, crap in buns, crap over salads (not that I would eat one here), and...to give you a snapshot...

Dinner with friends included being pestered by Miller Lite girls with shooters.  Okay, first, why is a beer girl giving me a shooter, and if I say yes because she's cute, why is she giving me a Wu-Tang-style doo-rag (yellow, with blue Miler Lite logo on it) as my "reward"?

Goes to show - feed college kids enough beer, and anything can make sense to them.

Cityside is a good place to go when you don't want to wait in a long line for a better restaurant. I mean, sometimes, it's Saturday night and you just want some food and you're not in the mood to be picky about it, and Cityside is happy to provide that food that you're hungry for. I usually get burgers and I am usually pleased. As a previous reviewer mentioned, there are too many things on the menu, and probably not all of them are good (I have been happy when I've stuck to the basics). I've never had anything really bad there, but I've never had anything particularly interesting or special there either.

Portions are big, the prices are reasonable, the service is fine, the decor is a little bit reminiscient of the Ground Round, and sometimes it is overly full of BC kids, but all in all, there are worse places to get a burger.

I like it here because it's a short walk from home, it's the only bar within lazy walking distance, and the only place with a deck.  I agree they should stick to bar fare, which they handle well, but stay away from the fancy selections, which taste canned.  Some nights, it's packed with BC students, so that's kind of fun to watch.

NOTE: If you eat there, they will give you $7 movie tickets for Circle Cinema.  Doesn't that just hit the spot for a solid 3 star night right in walking distance of home?
