Great place for football, but definitely overpriced food that's decent. Love the tv's!

I dropped by here for a brew, and did not try any food.  The place is massive, dark, and with a faint smoke tinge in the air.  There are numerous TV's and an OTB room, so it has the feel of a Vegas sports betting parlor room - just a lot more subdued and dark, at least on a weekday early evening.  The service is slow.  The beers are also on pricey side at $5.50 - $6.50 for a 12 oz glass.  They have at least 3 different beer menu sheets, so you have to ask a couple times to make sure you know what selection they really have available.  They sell three beer blends (i.e., black and tan or Blacksmith), so that's a plus.  Good to see it, but will be moving on to the next pub or equal.

I have never been a fan of the Foundry.  But a friend wanted to celebrate his birthday here with some shuffleboard, so who was I to argue?

The good is that there wasn't a cover charge.  The Foundry charges cover for everything you can think of: live band, UFC fights, DJs, and sometimes that live band doesn't start until you're walking out the door.

The bad is everything else.  The food is overpriced, and it isn't very good.  Aside from the occasional pretzel roll on a burger, the menu is passable.

I wasn't in the mood for a beer, so I asked the waitress for a drink menu.  She replied, "we don't have a drink menu."  OK, then why is there a table of 5 girls with martinis, and why is there a drink menu on the website?  There isn't a beer list either, so you have to walk around and read the signs by the entrance or the men's bathroom if you want something other than a Coors Light.

A lot of other people in our group griped about our waitress too.  The service, if you can call it that, is pathetic.

The birthday boy was getting irate when it took longer than expected for a shuffleboard table.  There are 4 tables, and one group had been using it since 7:00 p.m.  It was now 10:00 p.m.  Although it may have been my friend's fault for wanting to go on a Saturday night, there doesn't seem to be much regulation for the tables, not to mention the other patrons tend to be douchey a-holes.

Men, don't go here to pick up women.  I'm a woman.  I like men.  But I noticed that a lot of the women here are just gross.  A larger girl kept making an awful duck-lips face and trying to grind on her attractive friend.  Most of the women here dress like slobs, but appear to show up for the DJ who spins tunes that got played out at weddings in 2005.

The Foundry suffers from a lack of identity.  Is it a wannabe brewery?  A sports bar?  A club?  They even offer salsa lessons now.

Avoid!  Go to Fox and the Hound across the street instead.

I came in here last night for a going away party and I thought it had a pretty cool layout. It looks like the building used to be a movie theater or something? Either way, TV screens showing sports are EVERYWHERE. Good place to keep in mind the next time I want to totally bro out.

Anyway, the party was for a family member so I had my parents in tow and  they seemed a little overwhelmed by the "young" crowd and seat yourself mindset, but once we found our party and settled in, I think they did pretty well considering. The drinks were very reasonably priced- I didn't seem to notice the changing prices like other people said. I paid $3.50 all night for a cranberry vodka which was definitely reasonable!

Our waitress could've checked in on us a little bit more, but I think the layout of the place has her running around like crazy. Once she got our drink orders she was always back in a minute with what we ordered. The wait staff was so nice, though, my cousin spilled a drink and they brought her a new one on the house. Not many places do that. I will be coming back to try some of their food and stay later in to the evening!

The food here is great and i love watching the hawks on their huge screens, and to smoking room is very accomodating. But They really need to have more beers on tap, or at least some local micro brews. their draft beer selection is really lacking.

I have been visiting the Foundry on and off for years.  During that time, I have noticed that the prices have continued to go up while the quality of food and drinks has decreased significantly.  I think it would make a great graph for visual representation actually.

The other night I stopped in to have drink with my friend and to catch up.  I assumed that Foundry would be slow, given that it was a Wednesday, but the place was absolutely dead.  My friend and I sat at one of the many open tables and quickly ordered our drinks.  $6.25 for a pint of Woodchuck cider is a bit crazy I think.  I mean it's $7.99 for a six-pack at Binny's, but I digress.

So we are hanging out and I see that there are beer nuggets on the menu, as a girl who went to NIU and has an endless love for Lukalo's, my expectations are high and very specific.  Dense pizza dough, fried nuggets with a marinara dipping sauce are amazing when executed correctly, I promise.  The menu notes, "as made famous in DeKalb" so I was super excited.  An order was $6.95 but I thought I was getting DeKalb tastes so I happily ordered the nuggets.  The nuggets arrive and they were an abomination.  The dough was light and flavorless, they were super greasy, and there was nothing to the nuggets... it was sad.  They were also covered in garlic butter and parmesan which was odd and not in a good way.  DO NOT order the Beer Nuggets, they will make you sad and probably give you indigestion too.

The service was not very good either.  Our waitress was less than enthusiastic about our presence and seemed more bothered that we were there than anything.  Like I said, I've been coming here for years, the service is almost never good.  Set your expectations very low and they will be met.

I guess this is a good place for a game or OTB, but I don't really get excited about either event.  I suggest just visiting a different bar, there are so many to chose from in the area with better food and service.

I visited on a Wednesday night in September, no Football games so it was very empty... Which was nice for the first time here. Huge place.. so many tables.. and the projector screens.. the biggest screens all on a huge wall viewable from both levels. You really cant find a bad seat for the game here. Theres also games like darts... The beers served in chilled glasses. The menu holds it's own, the wings were great, good sauces, the burgers I hear are delicious.... I think I found a place for Bears Games! The location next to Fox Valley Mall is also a plus. In the summer there are outdoor volleyball courts which I have not tried out yet.

Huge bar with every bar game you could ever need. I got a burger and nearly ate the plate due to massive starvation. The burger had an egg on it. At least I hope it was an egg. Again. I ate it so rapidly I can't be positive. We went on a Sunday pre-football season, so it was a bit desolate. Solid food and specials. Friendly waitstaff.

I had to reduce my rating to a 3 after visiting on a Friday night a week later.  I'm not convinced yet that the burger is worth the price.  I had a double cheeseburger and it was overcooked.  A friend of mine also had a Kobe beef burger that was overcooked.  A burger in the neighborhood of $10 should be close to perfect.  I will try again soon and might raise my rating if I am impressed.

I'll come back and write more when I have time, but I just wanted to say that this was one of the worst food and service experiences that I have ever had at any restaurant or bar. The place is good looking, but looks can deceive.  Believe all the 1 star reviews. This place is horrible.

The Foundry is a giant man-cave. Giant televisions everywhere, several bars, off-track betting, and a designated smoking area. It is a relatively unique ambiance and definitely something worth checking out once in a while. The place is huge, so when it is a little slower it feels really empty (for better or worse). The food and service are both pretty good. It's definitely a place to for any big time sport fan to check out.

The updated menu knocks this from a two to three in my book. The Welder burger is very good, and I'm a fan of the onion strings that accompany it. The wings are also worth a shot.

They've got more TVs than you could imagine, shuffle board, off-track betting, sand volleyball, billiards, darts, a smoking room and trivia night. I frequently attend the latter on Tuesdays and Thursdays and have a lot of fun doing it. Bring/buy a mug club mug, it's definitely a money-saver.

    Cheers.

Came here for a comedy show last weekend and it seemed to be a prett cool place. We were upstairs in the Trio Room which was a cozy room with tables & chairs, a small stage, a bar and a fireplace. Our waitress was kinda whatever, she came to our table more often than needed and when I asked her about drinks she was clueless. When I went online later I saw they had a martini menu and drink specials that night... So maybe she was new. Oh well. The downstairs was huge. I had never seen so many TVs in one room. It looked like a guy's paradise. Online it also said they had a dance floor somewhere... I wish I would've known that too because the DJ was playing good music. (I saw all this from the second flr balcony which was huge so I only saw a few things). Oh, and I didn't pay cover just to get in... So idk what that's about.

This a haven for sports fanatics. After all, the building was previously, a movie theatre if I am correct. The atmosphere is the selling point for this place, with darts, shuffleboards and a wall full of big screen TVs. Given the room is so large, noise is not an issue. They do have live music from time to time, which is nice, unless you are trying to focus on a game.

The drinks are a bit steep for my liking, and were not all that great. Also, you are not informed how much the beverages will set you back until you receive your check. The food was alright, but not all that spectacular.

They do have salsa dancing in one of the rooms upstairs, which is nice since that is not offered in many places in the area.

More likely than not, I am here to watch a fight that I do not want to pay PPV for, and the environment/atmosphere which is ideal for larger groups.

I don't understand why I have to pay this particular place for me to simply go inside.  Night clubs, I understand.  Special events, sure, no problem.  A sports bar?  Can't they just build that into the drink/food prices?  I've been to the Foundry quite a few times and knew they have cover charge most of the time.  I specifically went to their website to see if there was cover on Saturday and it said in nice capital letters - NO Cover.  As soon as I walked in the door, I see someone there collecting cover.  It was only $5, but I felt pretty baited and switched.  A capital LIE.  I inquired about this charge and stated that the website said something else.  The door person just said they ordered a fight last minute and are charging people to go in.  But I don't even want to see the fight.  Can I pay them another $5 to turn it off??

    Ridick!

My husband walked in the main room here and said "WOW!!"

It's a sports fanatics dream - tons of TV's and flat screens. There's even a tv at the table (although the picture quality was really shitty). This is the perfect place to go for a huge game on TV or if you want to see multiple games at once.

Food wasn't amazing but I thought it was really good. The draft selection was pretty stellar too.

The ambiance of this place is pretty cool. Love the exposed brick, the HD TV screens, and the selection of beer and liquor is pretty on point. The food is pretty good, nothing to write home about and the service was ok. The server made us feel a little rushed. All-in-all a good experience and definitely worthy of being the after work drink spot.

Great place to watch some sports. 122 projection screens and 140 flat screen tv's, so believe me, you won't miss a game.

They have a full OTB room, Shuffleboard Tables (It looks weird but I've been tempted to try it), Pool Tables and Sand Volleyball Leagues.

I like the idea of the Mug Club, just buy your mug once and then refill it for about 5 dollars a pop. Not bad. The food is actually quite decent for a place like this.

    It's entertaining if anything!

So I got kicked out of a bar for the first time in my life.  Well technically I didn't get kicked out, I assume if I hadn't chosen to go with the members of my group that were kindly asked to leave I would have been able to stay, but that wouldn't have been very nice of me now would it?

But overall the place is all right.  Kinda loud, kinda crowded (especially on the first weekend of March Madness, go Butler!), but overall pretty fun.  An entire wall's covered in TV screens so we were able to watch every game at once.  And there's a half a dozen pool tables, which are fun diversion (and where I happened to be when someone at our table passed out and the group was asked to leave, so yeah, not even present when it officially happened).  The service was hot and cold.  It seemed to take a while for the waitress to get back to our table, but once we ordered it literally took two minutes for drinks or food or whatever to show up.  Really fast service once we were being paid attention to.

I didn't have much to eat, but what I did sample was pretty tasty.  The prices on the drinks seemed average but a lot of the food seemed a bit overpriced.

Overall, not really my scene.  I'm a huge fan of the sports bar, but I like mine to focus more on the grill part than the bar, but overall, it's decent.  If someone else was taking me there while my wife was out of town again, I wouldn't turn them down.

The Foundry gets 2 stars, strictly for their TVs. The service sucks, the drinks are over priced, food is warm and takes forever... Best thing about this place is that  the TVs are on.

It's full of douches that pop collars.  and it costs about 70 bucks to play darts. Re-Donk.

Skip it and invest in a bigger TV.

Ok this place used to be a movie theatre, they tried making it a high class sports bar (if that makes sense?). When that failed they lifted their obscure dress code policy and now it is just a GIANT Bro-Bar.
If you are (single) between the ages of 21 and 23, and trying to find a drunk skeezer or bro to go home with this may be the place for you.
People go to this place to get HAMMERED and thats about it.
I will say the food is pretty good and they have the only indoor smoking section in the western burbs. other than that be gone foundry your drink prices jump around throughout the evening depending on which bartender you go through...thats BULL.
at 28 i am WAY to old for this place.

I use to play in a volleyball league here and i really had a great time, but I never really had a chance to get to enjoy the "sports atmosphere" that is the Foundry like I did on the night our Hawks brought back the Stanley Cup to Chicago.

This place was CRAZY!!!!   I have never seen so many people go through a rollercoaster of emotions as goal after goal after goal was put into the back of the net.   You could almost time the amount of alcohol being consumed with the attitude of the crowd.

All I know is that the more I drank, and the closer we got towards the end, the bigger and bigger our waitress' tip became!

    What a great night!!

I cannot handle this place.  It is HUGE, there are way too many TV's EVERYWHERE, and the security guards walk around like they're the friggin' secret service.  There is an entire gymnasium sized wall of just giant TV's.  The owners of this place have gone all out with their whole foreman/foundry theme.  The result of said decor and tv's is super high prices.  However, you don't even know you're going to pay super high prices until you get your bill because they don't have a drink menu.  There is way too much trickery happening at this place.

My friend had his birthday here, so my husband and I drove an hour and 20 minutes to meet him here only to leave with 87 dollars less in our bank account.  All we had were a few beers (not even enough for a buzz) and pub food.  EIGHTY-SEVEN DOLLARS!!!  REALLY?!?!  We could go out to a fine dining restaurant in the city for that much money!  The service was also horrible.  Our waitress wouldn't let us move two tables together for our large party, she was very inattentive, and she failed to provide us with basic items like napkins.

I will not be visiting the Foundry again, and I strongly advise you to not waste your money and time by going there as well.

Well, this place is not too bad. Although I don't smoke anymore, this place does have a smoking room with some OTB machines, which is actually pretty cool. This is a bit of a rarity in Illinois and I'm guessing this would put the Foundry in a very unique place- especially in the winter time. It is however, very very smoky and I'm sure some would consider it trashy.

Overall, I can think many other places I'd rather go on a Saturday - not a real sophisticated drink selection -  but again it's not too bad, especially if you're just looking to catch a game or a boxing match. There are a ton of big screen TV's and some decent bands too every now and then. The mug club is a nice money saver as well.. would recommend going that direction if you ever stop in.

I've been here 3 times over the past few years and each time just seems to be worst than the last.

Service on our last visit was shoddy to non-existent and the server seemed much more interested in her all male table than our mixed group of friends.

The thing I like the most here is the OTB room... as I'm what you would consider 'the betting kind' but it's kind of sad once you go in. I've never been in here where there was anyone else but me and a friend betting and then *maybe* a group of guys just standing around drinking and checking out the surroundings.

The food is right on par... if you're expecting sub par, which I was. And the drinks were not-so-good and pricey, pricier, and priciest... I say this because you'll order one drink, it'll be overpriced, then one of your friends will order the same drink and it'll be even more overpriced, and so on. It tried looking on their website to see what their prices actually were and found that none are listed- surprise, surprise. I guess it's just U-Call-It pricing by the server.

Lastly, what's with the bouncers? Why so serious, boys? They run the entrance like it's a cutting edge club when they should be lucky enough to pull in clientele in ripped up jeans and flip flops. I swear, they're just foaming at the mouth waiting for a fight so they can get rough with people. *Ugh. I, personally, am a lover, not a fighter and am just not a fan.

Okay, I will admit it. I have never had a meal here. My only interactions are through the OTB and one occasionally drink. Yikes! Yes, the OTB is definitely a scary place especially if you're a single woman. The men here stare at you're like a piece of fresh meat in the tiger cage. I've been to OTBs in Chicago that are less creepy. Definitely not fun. In turn, you ask yourself the question, "Why even go here?"

This use to be the place to catch the big sports game in the area. But now that there's other choices around, this place is a skip it.

Just okay. Nothing special. Nothing terribly bad.

Miller lite was on special for the evening.. okay I'll take it.

Unfortunately, our server didn't know bar terminology.. and was confused when we asked her for a "coke-back." and we had to spell out what we wanted... pretty sad for a bar server.

It's a place to go to when you have no other options... it's big, has games, big tvs, alcohol (if you don't mind having to repeat your order several times). Just be prepared to wait for your server to come back to you.

Food, pretty good food for a bar.

    MUG CLUB?

I don't believe that i have ever heard of anything like that in Louisiana or Atlanta. You basically buy a very large mug for a hefty price. But it puts you into the club... bring your mug... and you chug!

Most of the refills are for 4-6 dollars. That is a great deal considering the size of the mug is about double the price anywhere else. If you become a regular like me then you will be saving in the long run. If you dont want to invest, there is always some kind of special.

That's not even the half of it... Volley ball courts, a million big screen TV's, and all kinds of games. If you are a better... there is even a OTB inside. And on fight nights and big games the place is always packed... you need to come in early to get a spot... say for big playoff games.

Downside: Nights with no big games... the place is usually empty, even on weekends.

I like sports... I like cheap drinks... I like big TV's... The food is alright... This makes me seem rather simplistic right now, but I like this place!

I guess this place is OK...I'm almost tempted to give it 2-stars though...

Anyways, we went here a couple days ago to catch up with a friend who was out of the country for a bit.  The waitress was quick with the drinks but not with refills.  The food was just OK to me...and I remember waking up the following morning with the worst stomach ache and being bloated as hell!  So next time I will stay away from their food.

The atmosphere is basically very sporty, so if your into that kind of thing, this is your bar--it has TVs everywhere.  The place is HUGE--it use to be a 4-screen movie theatre I believe.  I did not like the fact that it was so huge...I prefer smaller bars.

I don't think I would recommend this place, but if friends decided to come here, I would come for drinks and that's about it.

We weren't there to watch the boxing matching that was being televised, or basketball for that matter, but boxing and basketball is just one of the things we got.  27 huge flat screen tvs of it to be exact.  And those were just the one we could see.

When I looked up The Foundry on-line I have to admit I wasn't too impressed by the pictures they showed.  However, being there is a different experience.  I really like the interior and atmosphere.  I especially liked that they had smaller flat screen tvs for the booths.

To round out all this out they have decent drink specials.  I can't speak as to the quality of their food as I didn't part take in any of their fare, but one of people in our party found it to be decent.

Overall, I'd be open to going back.

IF I were a sports fan this would be my church. And when I say church I mean the place that I would frequent on most Sundays. It's a sports fan's dream. TONS of screens for your viewing pleasure and individual screens table side in case you can't see on the big ass wall of screens.

That being said, I was here on a Friday night and sports wasn't the main attraction. This huge space is the gathering spot for many suburbanites looking to get their food, bar and club experience all under one roof. They even had a live cover band (pretty good but stay away from the Shakira covers please) so that added to the atmosphere. I wasn't impressed by the crowd. People were over dressed or under dressed, too old or trying to hard to be young again. Nothing worse than seeing middle age women in halter tops on a 40 degree day..oh wait...their is something worse, drunk middle aged men falling all over the place and trying to relive the fraternity glory days. You are not auditioning for Old School the musical so sit down!

Our waitress was on the ball with turn around on drinks and even made me a specialty martini. No matter how advanced you are in your alcohol induced hunger DO NOT get the spinach artichoke dip and tortilla chips. The worst 'could you please actually unthaw this crap before you give it to me' dip ever and they can keep those f'ing Tostitos.

Of all the things I miss from my time in the burbs, The Foundry is high up on the list.

A humongous movie theater turned sports bar, there's no place better to watch the game.  When I say the game, I mean any game.  There are projectors, TVs, more projectors, and more TVs broadcasting every sports channel possible, with the audio generally being the 'big' game at the time.

Not only is the atmosphere great, but the food is great, the service is great (and usually cute), and the drinks are cheap.  Unfortunately, I don't drink beer, so I was never a member of THE MUG CLUB.  However, $3 Stoli gets me just as far gone for just about the same price.

The Foundry was my group's bar of choice.  Darts, pool, shuffleboard, live (mostly crappy) music...the Foundry really is the ultimate bar.  My roommate and I would head here at least once a week for dinner.  The wings are HUGE.

Summary:  I like The Foundry so much my review is glowing in its incoherency.

Wow... sports bar ultimo. I wish LA had something comparable to The Foundry. I came her several times on business trips to the Chicago Area and always had a great time.

Apparently it used to be movie theatre and now is a multi-level sports bar/grill. On the main wall they must have 100'  of projection screens/TVs to show sports events. This was quite experience when I was here when the White Sox won the World Series. Most of the tables/booths have their own flat screen TV. They also have a large cigar lounge on the 2nd level full of large leather couches to enjoy your favorite stogie. Also, they have several pool tables if you want to play.

The service is pretty good with plenty of pretty young ladies serving you drinks. Food is ok, probably takes a bit long, but every time I came here the place was busy.

I must warn you if you ever decide to go here and meet up with people, keep your cell phone on and make sure that they have theirs on too. Have them meet you outside when you hit the parking lot. You may never find them if you go in there and search on your own. This place is huge. Combine the sheer size with the gazilions of TVs and the swarms of people that you will find there and you will probably be undergoing sensory overload. This place can be especially overwhelming on Sunday's during football season. If you are a football fan like I am, you will be in nirvana.

The prices here are not not cheap but the food is good. I can definitely vouch for the appetizer combo plate and the french onion soup is delicious. I have never been disappointed with any of the sandwiches that I have had here either. The service here can be hit or miss but I have never run into anyone rude.  this place is never going to be a must go destination of mine but I would not turn down an offer to go here/

This is the ultimate spot for watching MMA bouts on the big screen.  From what I heard this place used to be a theatre turned into a fairly large bar.  It has at least 14 very large screens to watch your favorite sport(s).  The food is good, I had a ranch steak mexican salad which was delicious.  The chili is kind of watered down and a lot smaller than I expected but tasted good.  It was made with white chicken meat.  The waitresses are sweet and nice and willing to refill constantly even if you only drink water.  I haven't really tried any of their hard liqour but i heard they were on par with most places.  Beers are about the same price as most bars in the burbs.

The place is HUGE with lots of room.  Other than food, tvs, liqour they have billiards, darts and other games.  The bathrooms are clean.  This place is just massive with lots of space and room for everyone to enjoy.

One negative is 0 refills on softdrinks.

I recently had dinner at the Foundry with large group of family. we went around 7-8pm on a weekday and the service was terrible! when we first entered there was a very rude/grumpy guy checking IDs, once we got in and the waitress took our order she never came back to table to refill drinks or bring the water we asked for.  the food took entirely too long to make- we waited at least 45 mins to an hour- then they messed up my order and gave me some weird BBQ chicken instead of a hamburger, so i waited even longer for them to make my food while everyone else ate.

everything about the visit sucked, the food is way over priced, i will never go back!
