Frisch's Big Boy Restaurants

Frisch's is all about comfort food and is one of my wife's favorites.  We visited the Ft. Mitchell, KY location on 12/23/11 and what would have been another great dining experience turned ugly due to the staff.  

The server came to us right away and took our drink orders.  She returned in seconds but we explained that we weren't quite ready to order.  My wife is on a diet so we had to figure nutritional information so she would know what she could eat.  Well this delay seemed to annoy the server enough to keep her away for another 10 minutes and when she did return, her attitude was as rude as you can imagine.  

The food was great.  I got fish and chips, my daughter the Buddy Boy, and my wife enjoyed her Big Boy.  The server brought our check and I questioned why I was charged for the dinner instead of the a la cart that I asked for and received.  This disgusted her even more so she grunted off to correct the mistake and I could see her talking to another server while pointing toward us.

Of course I'll be back to Frisch's but we might try a different location next time.

Another great Frisch's location! This one in Ft. Wright has fantastic food, most specifically speaking the fish sandwich with fries and the big boy burger. I don't eat burgers that much at all, but I think this place has some of the best! The grilled cheese it the best ever, and they're spicy spud potatoes at breakfast as well as they're breakfast sandwiches on homemade biscuits. The kids meals are perfectly portioned for those who want to eat small. They are delicous and they come with a free curly straw! Frisch's is an excellent place who's only real downside is the pricey adult menu, beware! Other than that, two thumbs up for Frisch's Ft. Wright!

I really like Frisch's. I know most people in this area have already tried Frisch's, so I was in no rush to review it, but I've finally decided it was worth the time to review.

I've been going to Frisch's since I was a kid. We usually always went for the breakfast bar, or to use the Halloween/Valentine's Day . Both of these are still amazing.

The breakfast bar is awesome. I especially love their breakfast potatoes with cheese! My only complaint is that over the years their cheese has gone down hill. They used to have cheese that was thick and you used a spoon to scoop it out. Now the cheese is more runny and you use a pump to squirt it out. It still tastes the same, just watered down. There aren't many places that I know of with breakfast bars and most close pretty early. Frisch's is great for those who like to sleep in on the weekends. They keep the bar up until 1pm on Saturday's, and 2pm on Sundays. I may be weird but I personally love coming in late when they have both the breakfast bar, and the salad bar going. I like to have a plate of breakfast food, and then a salad all for the same price. Even if you miss the bar though, they have breakfast meals that they serve all day long.

The Halloween/ Valentine's Day coupons are an amazing deal. You can purchase like 10 of them for a dollar! That's 10 kids meals for a dollar! They have plenty of options for the kids meals, so it's good for even picky eaters.

I love their soup and salad bar. It has everything a salad could possibly need, and all of their soups are really good.

Some other of my  favorites are The Big Boy, which is a hamburger with tarter sauce and it's oddly enough amazing, and their turkey melt club.

Oh and one of my favorite drinks ever is their Cherry Coke. They use their own cherry syrup which of course makes it better than cherry coke in a can. I know there are other restaurants that add their own syrup as well, but something about Frisch's is always better to me.

Their only major downfall is that the service isn't usually very good. Most of the time it's okay, but sometimes it's horrible. However I usually just get the bar and help myself so I can't hold it too much against them.

I never order their deserts, but then again I never order deserts from anywhere. I do know though that their deserts are good.

I know my review is long, but after eating their about a hundred times in my life, and working there as a teenager  I guess I just have a lot to say. I hope this is helpful.
