Gave this place a try the other day. The drinks were great, the atmosphere was nice, and the seating was comfy! The drink specials were nice and my friends all enjoyed their drinks. Plus, the drinks aren't weak and our waitress was nice and helpful! What more could you want?!

I have only been here once, and it was for a wedding diner after party. Very chill and nice place. Not pretentious at all. Nice place to go for a drink after a long week of work!

I would honestly give this place 5 stars if it wasn't for the AWFUL DJ. I mean it has the best atmosphere this side if town, but the music is just silly. It's Bubblegum pop club techno, and just doesn't match the chill vibe of the place. You wouldn't even hear music this bad in an under 21 club. This place is almost grown and sexy but the Justin Beiber ruins it. That being said, it's chic, the drinks are good(decent wine list etc.) So if you're feeling desperate-as we West Houstoners often are-than this is your best bet.

I love this place! It is owned and connected to the restaurant Hungary's. It has a very trendy lounge feel and it's great because you don't have to take a freeway to get there if you live on the west side of town and also worry about too far of a drive home. Like I said before it is connected to Hungary's and you can order from their menu and they will bring it over. I have only had cheese burgers both times I've been at the bar and ordered food and it was amazing both times - Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The prices are normal bar prices so no surprise there. The bar used to be an old oil change shop so it has huge bay doors that they can open in nice weather. They have added on quite a bit since they opened and they have done a good job with it. There is seating inside &outside - the outside section has comfortable seating and the last time I was there for a sporting event they had a projection setup on the outside and they have added on some covered areas. All in all a great place to go hang out for a few hours and have a few drinks.

I love this place because it is chic, yet I don't have to go into town and I don't have to pay outrageous drink prices. Its also a great place to watch sports - especially on a nice day when you can watch the projector on the patio!

They have great food from Hungry's until about 11 pm.

It used to be great on Saturday nights because they had karaoke, but they seem to have gotten rid of that.

The bar is nice and the drinks were tasty. I would have given five stars but the bartender let out a long sigh and rolled her eyes when I ordered a mojito.

I know we all have bad days. I was a bartender for several years, I just waited until my back was turned and I was walking away to roll my eyes and sigh.

Went there last weekend and was pleasantly surprised. I'm happy to now know that there is a fun, high-end feeling lounge in West Houston. After living in Midtown this was nice to see in a more suburban area. I was really impressed by their decor and friendly staff and awesome drink menu. They have a great patio and parking is a breeze. My only issue was that I ordered a few cocktails and twice I was told that they were out of some ingredients. The drinks on the menu sounded so good and I was disappointed that I missed out. Also, the staff started breaking down the bar and turning on florescent lights at 1:30 and we felt like we were being rushed out even though the bar staff was polite and still helping us out. All in all I was excited to see that there is a cool place to go on the West side and will defiantely go back to the Next Door Bar.

Nice for drinks and football, but horrible service. Don't go here for brunch.  The last three times I've tried this place, they got our order wrong. Once they finally brought the right food, it was cold. I will not go back again. The bartender/waiter Mark has a bad attitude and needs to be replaced.

A group of about 10 of us were looking for a new place to go with a relaxed but nice atmosphere, good food, and where we could watch the Texans game - we didn't want to go to a typical sports bar.

We found this on yelp and based on the description and reviews, we decided to try it out.  we got there and I liked it right away.  they have a great patio area and comfy chairs and couches.  so far, so good.

As far as food, we ordered the gyro and the beef and chicken quesadillas.  both orders were YUMMO!  Much better than we expected for a lounge/bar, though the gyro did have a little too much tzaziki (sp?) sauce.  We can overlook that b/c the meat itself was perfect.  Another couple in our party got the trio and they said it was VERY good as well.

oh, and they had a theme for the night - 80s all the way.  the waitreses were all dressed up and a number of patrons had their garb on too - complete with mullet wigs and Don Johnson blazers.  and the DJ was playing 80s tunes all night - a fun walk in the past. :-)

all in all, we all decided that this was a great find and we will definitely be back! Try it out if you want a chill place with great food and good drinks.

I work near here and was always curious what this place was like- so when my work had a Happy Hour here I was happy to check it out. It's a lot smaller on the inside than I thought it would be- but it has a really big patio out front, so I guess that accounts for a lot of the space. The had a guy playing accoustic guitar and singing but it was just a little too loud to be able to carry on a conversation over it.  I do think this bar is a much-needed addition to the Energy Corridor drinking scene though.

Nice atmosphere, but not too trendy. This was a good choice to meet up with friends after work.

Can"t rate their drinks, as I had beer (but they did have a few good choices on tap at HH prices).

What sets Next Door apart from other bars is the food. It's got a slightly fresher/healthier feel to it (in other words, it's not just re-heated frozen crap). Not sure if they have their own kitchen now, but everything used to come from Hungry's kitchen next door. The pizza is the ultra thin variety, and not your standard chain-pizza restaurant toppings.

The fried pickles were awesome, and the Triple Play (jalapeno hummus, eggplant dip, and spinach artichoke dip served with warm pita bread) was a hit (though my group agreed the hummus probably would have been better without its namesake jalapeno). The burgers were also a hit, but I can't personally vouch for those.

Come on a day when the weather is nice, and the garage doors will be open, bringing in the breeze!

We went to Nextdoor during Yelp Drink week and during the happy hour time period. Nextdoor is, in a way, an extension to Hungry's. They share the same parking lot and the back entrance is interconnected between the two establishment. In fact, one of my friend did not know that and arrived early and sat at Hungry's, even though I said we're meeting at Nextdoor.

Nextdoor overall have great décor for the indoor bar area and the outdoor lounge area. They even have a space for live entertainment, enough for the performer to setup any equipments without being overcrowded with the customer seating area. For the indoor, the wall behind the bar counter has diagonal bookshelf spaces with big hardcover books stack on top of each other, the ground has see through plastic and you can see wine bottles all lined up together in a row in the floor.

When our waitress came by, we asked what was the Yelp Drink specials they had again, she wasn't sure what I was asking so she went back to the bar and I could see the bartender handed her some postcard sized flyer with the Yelp Drink drinks listed. We ordered one of each and along with happy hour food of 2 pizzas (rustica and harvest), each of the soho grill (chicken, sausage, shrimp), southwest duo (tortilla chips and dips), fried pickle spears, beef quesadillas, and some water.

The drinks came out first and our favorite one was the Jalantro Martini, which had a good kick of jalapeno and cilantro flavor. Our least favorite was Honeydew Cucumber Infusion Martini as this one taste like a very watered down cucumber drink, we couldn't even taste the honeydew or the alcohol. Boules aux fruit was decent but all the fresh fruits were stuck at the bottom so the real fruit flavors were trapped in the bottom of the flute.

Then the food slowly came out and was crowded on our tables. The soho grill size was a bit small, and the best one is the grill shrimp, then the sausage, and then the chicken. The southwest duo was your typical chips and salsa and guacamole. The pizzas were flatbread pizzas that's already cut in squares and served on the flatbread wooden spatula. Unfortunately the harvest pizza was suppose to come with grilled eggplants, but they were out of eggplants that day and still serve the pizza without letting us know. So I could not comment on the full potential of the harvest pizza. The rustica wasn't too bad. The fried pickles were good, but I wish they could make the spears a bit bigger. The beef quesadillas is decent.

Overall it was a pretty good experience knowing there's a pretty chic bar in the middle of Houston suburb. But I would only go there during happy hour as the price of the food is only worth the happy hour price. Lastly, don't be surprised when you get the check and it is labeled as Hungry's as I don't think Nextdoor Bar and Lounge have their own kitchen (using Hungry's kitchen to serve food) and their credit card machine for check-out.

I've only been here once so I don't want to give a 5-star review not having seen how they work with crowds but last night I went for the first time and absolutely loved it. The bartender was so nice and let me try the infusion vodkas...which, seriously people, are delicious. The vodka steeping in peppers is absolutely delicious with the perfect pepper-kick, as is the pineapple and the strawberry...the cucumber just tasted like I was drinking a vodka salad, which was good but not how I wanted to drink away my night. It felt too healthy if that makes any sense haha

The ambiance was great...I really loved what they did with the place and the outdoor seating was great with long bench couches and fireplaces. The crowd was not as old as I was told it was there were two or three college aged groups last night and that was basically it for their Tuesday night.

Again, the bartender was great (wish I had gotten her name!) and took the time to talk to my uncle and I, which I like in a bar. Friendly people, GREAT drinks, and very reasonably priced. The decor is very modern but it doesn't cross over the pretentious threshold...very well done. Will definitely be back.

Probably the most trendy looking place in my part of town. Great decor and interesting way of planning the floor (transparent panel with liquor and wine bottles on the other side). Next Door has a great patio bar concept as the main dining room opens up completely to the patio and wraps around the side. The also project sports and whatever is on TV on the side of the building where people sit.

Drinks? They are pretty good. Next Door has a few of those giant jars with vodka infused fruits. The beer selection is better than most other local bars in that area! The bartenders can stir and shake some good stuff. Nothing completely spectacular but you will get a good tasting [insert your drink choice here].

TIP: If you want shots and really cant decide they have a shot wheel where you spin and let fate figure it out!

Next Door has the same owner as Hungry's Bistro and is connected by a walkway (as they are next to each other) So the food items will come from them. The food is pretty good. Not the best BUT way better than typical bar food (deep fried cheesy stuff you know?).

This place is great for groups! a good mix of trendy, casual and classy at the same time.

I have not been back since an unpleasant incident I experienced last summer, but that was due to the company I was with and not the place itself.

Guys when you're with a girl that is obviously interested in you, don't blatantly check out another woman and then join her and a friend with the wimpy excuse of smoking a cigarette.  I felt embarrassed and this definitely planted seeds of insecurity within me.  No es bueno and hampers my full awesome potential of being my best self, which is what you want, trust me!  There's my tidbit of dating advice planted within my review, some reviews should be educational and some guys are just clueless but they'll get it eventually, or so I hope.

Grumbles aside, working in the Energy Corridor this place is a nice option for after work drinks, usually everyone schleps over to Watson's where I have enjoyed mingling with people in my industry a couple times.
Nextdoor Bar however offers nice patio seating, plushy couches are always well noted by myself.  Sure the view might to be CityCentre like, it's near a car wash and across from a rather rundown strip center that could use some remodeling, but it's convenient and when the weather is nice and the company is good I wouldn't complain.

I really enjoyed the Blackberry Bramble.  Strong and sweet but not overpoweringly-so, the floating raspberries really added to it as they are one of my favorite fruits.  Sangria is definitely a staple drink order of mine, it's a drink that's hard to mess up.  I just noticed that on Wednesdays they offer $2 grilled mini kabobs, looks like I'll be heading there on a Wednesday during Yelp Drinks week.  ;D

Cool place, horrible parking when crowded but other then that this place is pretty nice. Live band, cool decor, infusion shots! I would say this is more of a trendy place, professionals, older crowd. Staff is nice and engaging.

This place is fantastic!  Great staff, great drinks, and an awesome atmosphere.

The bartenders is what really gives this place a 5 star rating, they are attentive, they are fun, they know what they are doing and they make the night go by with a smile on your face.  The drinks are very reasonable priced and they have an awesome outdoor TV for watching the game.  I can not wait to come back to this place and spend another night enjoying the company of the bartenders and my friends.

Very hip place.  I was impressed with the prices.  We had four drinks and our tab was 15 dollars.

Definitely a cool place for the young and not so young.  The DJ was just getting started when I left.

I'm looking forward to becoming a regular here.

When you walk in to the place the grease-pit-turned-wine cellar gives the illusion that you might fall in, but what a wonderful trip. Hip digs, attractive wait-staff and attentive barkeeps(Aubrey & Brannon) compliment an awesome menu of food and drink.  Live entertainment almost every night I've been(and can remember!). Excellent views of the big screens from every corner. Proud to call this place my local!

First time visit late last Thursday. very nice decoration, considering it used the be a jiffy lube. and the bathrooms are bright and clean! always a plus.
The place was about half filled. Mostly 22-30 yr olds; had a couple 40yr olds, but they're with me and they were buying the drinks so it's cool.

the drinks were a little bit lite on the alcohol, so get yourself a beer.
The service was great, the waitress came by to check on you often enough, smiled at you, flirted with you, laughed at your jokes and even did a little dance.
overall, a nice place to hang out.

I came here on an early weekend evening based on a friend's suggestion. Located next door to Hungry's Cafe, it seems to be a pretty trendy looking hang out spot. Outdoor seating is available and proved to be a perfect opportunity to enjoy the Houston breeze while kicking back some Saint Arnolds and just chilling out.

The waiters here look pretty young, however, the crowd is definitely not. No worries, though, my friend wanted to check it out so no hard feelings. Looking over the menu, we decided to go with some small appetizers: fried pickle wedges, jalapeño hummus, and quesadillas. The food was what you would expect from a place like this, nothing special but still edible. We did have the option to order from Hungry's menu which was pretty cool but decided against it.

The service was good, our waitress made sure that everything was going to our satisfaction which is welcomed in my book. Drinks were brought out quickly and the food didn't take long either. Overall, a nice place to come and hang out but mostly for the older crowd. By a quick glance, it appeared that everyone there was 40 or older but it still seemed like a nice place.

We live very close to this place and haven't noticed it until last night. The patio looked very inviting and we decided to check it out after our dinner plans. It was a thursday night and it also happened to my birthday. The place is really cool..we loved the patio with large cushioned seatings, the opening garage door wall is a great idea to bring the outdoors in. As a realtor I love seeing funky places with innovative decor and design. There was also live music and we enjoyed the musician a lot. It turned out to be a very nice birthday surprise for us...we will be back..

Ok, the task seemed simple. Find a place where my 40 something crowd could talk and not shout, have good food and decent drink prices in an atmosphere that wasnt elbow to elbow with the younger generation. I stopped by NEXTDOOR on my way home one evening and decided this place would be perfect. I spoke with Neima, the GM, about reserving a spot for 10-15 people and he was most accomodating.

The place is run and food is provided by neighbor Hungry's Cafe and Bistro. They share a patio (which is a great place when the weather is a little cooler. The service bay doors (former oil change garage) connect inside to outside in a charming but unassuming way. The music was from our "time" and the place felt chic without being pretentious in the least. The servers were beautiful and they were willing to please until the crowd got such that it was hard to service our group at the rate we were ordering. Nonetheless, I think we have found a place on the westside (Dairy Ashford and Memorial) that is suitable for afterwork, watching games, dropping by on way home on the weekend or providing a feature spot for get togethers.

The crowd, much like our fair city was diverse and everyone seemed comfortable in this great spot.

Wow you can sign this place up, as a must see in Houston. I was in the area, and couldn't help but notice this place. My fiance' and I are always looking for new and happening places here in Houston. The curb appeal, and laid back atmosphere worked together as a magnet to pull us right in. While inside we noticed that it was a renovated Oil/Lube garage. Nice idea by the way. The decor' was fabulous, and the customer service was quite pleasing. They had an Happy our drink menu in addition to a appetizer menu that seem to work well for those of us who are "balling on a budget" as the young folks would put it. :) However ,all of these elements together makes this one heck of an establishment. I was just there for, an hour or so. Trust me I will be back soon to properly induct this into my growing Happy Hour line up. :) Oh did I mention they also had a live band on patio. Woooo Hoooo I am so good right now. :)

Bolstered by its success in the Bistro business, Hungry's Cafe is hungry for more. At its Memorial Drive location, it is getting quite innovative in this regard. It recently purchased the adjacent oil-change garage and converted it into a chic lounge that sports big screen TVs, a fireplace, comfortable lounge sofas and chairs and a well-stocked bar. What is particularly cool is that the glass wall facing the street rolls up on rails just like the old garage door, opening up the bar to the outside patio when the weather obliges. The only thing that is not innovative about the place is its name, NEXTDOOR.

When it first open just over a month ago, its "curb appeal" almost caused me to get into a wreck. Whilst driving by, I gawked at the two huge big screen TVs on the outside of the bar displaying a Rockets game. The driver in front of me apparently was doing the same thing and I nearly rear-ended him.

I was there last night to help celebrate the 40th birthday of one of my neighbors. I happily sampled their house Cabernet and finger food. Our party of about 40 people filled up half the bar. It was rocking. I felt the music was a bit loud to carry on a conversation without shouting, but, otherwise, my only criticism is that Hungry's NEXTDOOR may be a victim of its own success.

The place was filled to the gills. The parking for Hungry's has always been a disaster during lunch, but with the Bistro and Bar going full tilt at the same time, the poor valets looked liked they needed to take a course in conflict resolution. A lot of folks were parking next door at Bubbles Car Wash. The prospect of drink-filled-walking-by-the-side-of-the-road-road-kill on a very busy (and possibly gawking) Memorial Drive is going up exponentially.

I hope this all gets sorted out acceptably soon since this bar is a very welcome addition to the neighborhood. During pleasant afternoons when they roll up the doors, it looks like a great low-key place to lounge around.
