Taft Theatre

I've seen two comedy shows at this theater now and I have no complaints. The beer is cheap and the atmosphere nice. Even seats from the balcony have a good view. Pretty theater too.

I attended a Glen Hansard concert here in 2012. It was an amazing time, but that was primarily due to the fact that Glen is fantastic. The venue looks nice, but the ushers were particularly grumpy. We had a hell of a time getting to the theater as there was a baseball game ending at the time we were trying to get there, and the street that the theater is on was closed all day and night for the weekend's Oktoberfest street fest. So finding parking, getting to park, and eventually finding the theater was pure insanity.
But the concert was enjoyable, because hey...GLEN!!

You still have to get up to let anyone by, but I found the theater to be just right for the musical entertainment I was there to see.  They moved the bar areas out of the main lobby which was a big improvement.  The lobby is a bit gloomy, but the theater itself has charm.  I recommend seeing an event here.
