Holy burger Batman, this place was awesome.

We were just driving bu saw the place and thought why not.  The place just has a totally different feel when you walk in then any other burger joint.  The place is small with pages from comic books plastered to the back wall.  The choices of burgers they have are great.  They have one for anyone.  You get to choose the patty from beef, turkey, or veggie.  Then what style of toppings.  Last what type of bun you want.  Every thing is made fresh when you order so it takes about 15 mins to get you food.  You get more food then you can eat with the half pound burger and then a side.  The place is also trying to be environmentally too.  They don't use paper cups or plates to cut back on trash.  This will be a place I could eat at a lot if I was in Covington more.

This is one of those very cute little places. The food is good and well made, and the service, though sometimes slow when they are busy, is usually pretty good. The atmosphere is fun, and unique. The price is a little steep, but the burgers are large, and the fresh, as is the rest of the food. The fruit salad is always particularly good as well. The only thing I would change is the ketchup, which is a little too sweet for me, since it is their own recipe.

Since this was my first visit to Whack, I choose a classic cheeseburger. It took about 10 minutes for my burger to arrive, which I didn't mind in the least.  It is one big burger. Very tall and wide. They have to skewer it right though the center to keep everything together.

Being a big burger, it was difficult to eat. I was not impressed by the beef or the toppings.  Now I know what the baseline is. Perhaps one of the many other burger options will strike it right with me next time.

Whack Burger is a solid burger place.  They're up against some tough competition in Cincy - which for some reason has myriad upscale bar food options.  While I wouldn't call it upscale, the ingredients are definitely high quality.  They have lots of great combinations of ingredients thrown atop burgers.  Or you can get it as a salad.  And you can get it with fries.  Lots of options!  Finding a burger in Cincinnati is no feat.  Finding a good burger in Cincinnati is no feat.  But Whack Burger is one of those places that has a good burger, and they deliver it with lots of cool toppings.

Bottom Line:  I'll be back for the burger with the coolest toppings in Cincinnati.

    Creativity, A+, Branding, A+, Service, A+, Options, A+, Value, A, Food, B.

I like this joint. It's clean. People are cool. Good music. I feel like I'm stepping into a movie and Roger Rabbit is going to jump out at any second. I think it completely serves its purpose - a good lunch option and incredible drunk food for concert goers. I particularly love the black bean and turkey burger options - it's a rarity to find that type of variety. Blend that with the fun, innovative toppings and it's a win. For some local guys jumping out and doing their own thing, I'm mega impressed with how well they considered brand in the whole restaurant biz equation. If you're going to do burgers these days, you need to do something that stands out. From the location to signage outside to the menu, Whack does this.

Only a few wishes, if the buns were slightly toasted/grilled and the patties were freshly hand patted/seasoned (maybe the beef burgers are, turkey burgers aren't and seem a little flat/bland), I'd leave with a little bigger smile. All in all though, great value for a $6 burger.

Went to Whack Burger with my fiancee and her dad. I had the apple brie burger, she had the green chili and fried egg burger, he had the sauerkraut burger. It wasn't super fast service because there was one cook on the weekend. Cool atmosphere though. It was a solid burger and we will definitely be back to try the others. The apple-brie burger was interesting, but the meat was so thick that it over powered some of the taste. Still, it was delicious and would recommend it to anyone looking for something beyond a standard burger.

No GF menu & the proprietor gave me hassle about asking what was in the food.  The waitress though was really sweet & tried to help

I've been to Whack Burger several times over the past few weeks. Cool environment and welcoming staff. Their burger menu has enough options to please even the pickiest of eaters. For $10-12 you get a deliciously, stacked burger and steak fries.

Went back tonight and got a black bean burger- it wasn't so good. The burger fell apart as soon as you picked it up, had the consistency of refried beans and was bland. I know that it's a black bean burger, but I felt like it was too bean-y.

    Wham! Bam! Pow!

And suddenly, a Whack Burger swooped in like a superhero in Covington. With bold primary colors and a wall of comic book pages, I stumbled into one of the most creative burger joints in the area.

The menu appears on a flat screen television above the cashier with a dozen varieties ranging from a classic burger to an Indian version with curry chutney, a Mediterranean burger, or my personal favorite, one with Fried Green Tomatoes.

There are three different kinds of burger patties to choose from: Beef, Turkey, or Black Bean. I love that there is a veggie option and can bring my vegan friends here!

Six sides are available other than the standard french fries, including fruit, roasted vegetables, and broccoli salad. You can also choose between a white or wheat bun.

After ordering, we took a seat at the counter. The burgers were delivered ten minutes later, piping hot and oh-so-juicy. The half-pound patties were hand pressed and cooked medium; just the way a hamburger should be. It had the correct burger to topping ratio. I could taste the various ingredients, enjoy the beef, and did not have condiments dripping out the backside.

Just when you think nothing can satisfy your craving, Whack Burger stealthily saves the day!

    Price per person: $12.00

Good, not great. 3.5 stars would be more appropriate.

The burgers are cooked to order, so expect a 10-15 minute wait at a minimum. I got the black and bleu burger, which is usually my default choice when going somewhere new. I end judging the place on how their black and bleu burger compares to others that I've tried. The patty was thick cut and looked good, but they went way overboard on their salt/seasoning. I took the burger to go and ended up downing 2 and a half bottles of water while eating my food. The fries should have been delicious. They certainly looked like delicious, hand-cut, boardwalk style fries... but they weren't cooked very well. I'd say 60% of the fries were soggy and slightly undercooked.

I stopped in here for lunch a couple minutes after they opened. Maybe the crew was still fighting their hangovers from last night, and hopefully the food is a little better on my next (possibly) visit. The idea is fun. Gourmet burgers, choice of bun, and hand cut fries. Unfortunately, for me, they just missed the mark by a little bit.

I think I did Whack Burger wrong.

I'd heard about the new burger joint that had opened in Covington right across the street from the Madison Theatre and wanted to go check it out. I needed to take the burger to go though so I ordered and ran ... and that was the wrong move.

The "Whack" in Whack Burger is not, as you might think, from someone going, "Aw, that's whack." What it is, on the other hand, is the sound that a superhero makes when he punches a bad guy in the face. It could have easily been called "Bam Burger" or "Pow Burger." Whack Burger it is.

This is a small one-room burger joint. You order at the counter and then sit at one of the tables around the room. The most noticeable piece of decoration is the giant wall of comics to the left and it's pretty damn fun. I enjoyed reading these one-off pages as my burger cooked.

Now, that's point two: the burger and the freshness. These are not burgers sitting, waiting to be picked up. You order and it takes at least 15 minutes to cook. They want to do it as fresh and as warm and as awesome as possible.

Whack Burger has a serious menu for burgers and you're bound to find one you like. BBQ Burgers. Jambalaya burgers. Curry Chutney burgers. Brie and apple burgers. Mediterranean burgers. Whatever you want, they have.  The burgers, as it turns out, are also giant. Monster things that come wrapped in paper and are fun to hold with two hands they're so big. It's $10 for a burger and a side and totally worth it.

I got the burger with the fried green tomato, because why the hell not.

Now, because of the freshness, my burger wasn't all it could be when I took it to go. Being cold sort of ruined the deliciousness I knew this burger once had. It looked amazing, but tasted like it needed to be warmed. Ah well, lesson learned. Next time, I sit down and eat it fresh right at one of those tables, reading comics, kicking bad guy's asses ... you know, a typical day in the life of a hero.

I am not a huge burger person, but I am giving whack burger 5 starts because it has something for everyone.  There is the usual beef burger and fries as well as a veggie or turkey burger with fruit or roasted veggies.  The food was fresh AND it isn't a chain. It is a local business, so I recommend that you really give this place a try.  I don't think you will be disappointed.

I read the review of Whack Burger in City Beat and had it on my list of places to try.  I went on a Thursday night.  It wasn't crowded, but enough folks having dinner to create a nice, neighborhood feel.

My friend and I both had the black bean Kalifornia burger.  I had a side of fruit salad and my friend had the roasted veggies. The burger was HUGE and delicious! I had all of it.  The fruit salad was fresh, with watermelon, blueberries and strawberries.  My friend's roasted veggies were good too, although she didn't like the carrots.  Fortunately, I loved the carrots!

Service was quick and friendly.   The decor is attractive with nice lines.  As opposed to some of my other favorite restaurants, Whack Burger is even attractive from the sidewalk :-).

everyone does burgers and fries.  really.  try something new.  i mean, how can you possibly make burgers and fries attractive to anyone with a few dollars to spend?

even though the neighborhood is progressive to say the least, the restaurant is done nicely, even if sparingly.  hey! cut them some slack. they are three twenty somethings doing their own thing.  the interior is clean, nice, and new.  one wall is decorated with modge podged comic book pages.  the paint is bright and freshly done.

stephanie greeted us with a spiderman t shirt.  i had, untimely, worn mine the day before.  she was pleasant, helpful, and is as cute as a button and as nice as pie.  her beau and his cofounder worked the grill and prep station.  (hey guys, come out and meet your clientele).

the menu is entertaining, offering many choices of burger styles, even types (beef, turkey, or veggie).  i thought it was somewhat "hokey".  however, the ingredients were fresh.  the flavors were bright and present.  it seems these people may know what they are doing.  our burgers were cooked medium, and served hot, tender, and juicy.  again, it seems they know what's up.  i had the fried green tomato, my dude had the cajun.  the sandwiches came with approximately 6.3 pounds of fresh cut steak fries.  with this, stephanie served us each a tablespoon of ketchup.  while she retrieved more after experiencing an inevitable assault o' sarcasm, i tasted the sample and realized they make their own ketchup in house.  not a ground breaking delicacy, but i appreciated the effort and the taste was, again bright and present, very fresh.

finally, lunch was on the heavy size financially.  however, i am not and will never be someone to say "ten dollars for burgers and fries?!?!?"  i have yet to find free burgers and fries in my 37 years of earthly travels.  their huge burgers and overportioned fresh cut fries are well worth the money.  and, most importantly, i prefer (and urge you to do the same) to spend my money with the little man in business.  DOWN WITH THE MACHINE!

i emphatically urge everyone to try lunch or dinner here, then return again a week or two later.

Nothing whacked about Whackburger!  There are plenty of different varieties of burgers with worldly influences, Cajun, Curry, German, Mediterranean, etc.  Each burger is flat-top(I love flat-tops) grilled to order, so be prepared to wait for a while after ordering.  These burgers are huge, so it takes a while to grill 'em up!  You can choose between Beef, Turkey, and Black Bean burgers.    The brioche buns are grilled too.  This trip I got The Whackburger, and with 2 cheeses and a pile of jalapeños, it was pretty damn awesome, with a nice spice.  There are many healthy side dishes, like fruit salad, house salad, mixed veggies, and broccoli slaw, so I, of course, chose the french fries.  Their hand-cut fries are thick-cut and reallllly good.  They also have hand cut chips, but you have to get the fries so that you can get the ketchup!  I never thought I'd compliment a restaurant on it's ketchup, but theirs is probably one of the best I've ever had.  It tasted like a cross between Heinz ketchup and Montgomery Inn BBQ sauce, with garlic.  Really spectacular ketchup!  When I see that a place takes that much time for a widely overlooked condiment like ketchup, then it's a pretty safe bet that they have thoroughly thought out their menu and ingredients, so I anticipate being delighted as I eat my way/weigh through their menu.  Just make sure you realize, it will take more time than typical fast food, because it isn't typical fast food, and you can't rush success!  Now go clog your arteries!

This is the classic Whack Burger and Fries, and it is a great meal to get messy.  Beef, bacon, provolone, cheddar, leaf lettuce, onion and peppercorn Mayo piled high.  Good place to meet and eat with a choice of Black bean,
Turkey or Beef and lots of choices of toppers.

If you just try one burger at a time it would take you 42 visits to have all of the options.

Best in Covington 10 out of 10 Max rating.

I came to Whack Burger for a party in my tummy, but I left with a lighter wallet and no party was to be had.

My coworkers and I went here for our lunch hour, and judging by the line I thought it was due to the popularity...turns out everyone was just waiting forever for their food.

It took 45 minutes for our burgers to show up, which had to be wrapped as 'to go' due to the long cook time.  I ordered the green chile & egg burger on salad, and the burger itself was charred and over salted, much like a big Burger King burger, except $9.99!  The green chile relish had no flavoring besides what appeared to be a can of green chiles dumped below the patty.  The egg was burnt on the outside and the white was still raw and inedible.  The patty itself was inconsistently cooked and lacked any type of sauce or flavor components.

My side was the broccoli slaw, which was unimpressive.  The slaw was underseasoned and bitter.  My coworkers got the french fries, which although were thick cut, seemed somewhat raw and undercooked in the center.

I give this place a solid two thumbs down.  Myself and six other coworkers are all quite disappointed.

Whack burger is just that...whack.  If you want a good burger, even McDonald's outdoes this place with service and consistency of quality and THAT says a lot.

I came in close to open on the second day they'd been open for business. The space is welcoming and the various walls sport different decorative elements such as comic book pages and graffiti-styled paint work. The staff is really friendly.

The menu is pretty straight forward. $9.95 gets one of fourteen styles of burger along with a side dish. House made fries and chips are available as well as things like broccoli slaw or jambalaya. There were also other choices for the burgers such as turkey or black bean burgers. Some of the burger combinations would likely go better with the alternative burger choices.

I went with the eponymous WhackBurger, a very large (at least 1/2#) beef burger on a brioche roll with bacon, jalapeño, onion, lettuce, provolone, & secret sauce and french fries for my side. The burger was juicy and delicious with a nice balance of toppings. The french fries came in a generous portion and while I wish the fries had been a bit more crisp, they were good. This is likely just a personal taste thing--I like a smaller french fry and these were on the big side.

I'll definitely be back for more. WhackBurger is conveniently located across from the Madison Theatre, so it would make a good place to eat prior to a show.
