Terrible service!!!! I work in the Fenway area and decided to come in or a sandwich and a beer on my lunch break. Big mistake! It took 10 minutes just to order a drink! There were maybe 8-10 people on one aide of the wrap around bar so I decided to sit on the less crowded side. I guess it was less crowed for a reason, the bartenders (of which there were 2!) never came to that side. Â Once I did order a beer it took another 10 minutes to track down the bartenders to order my lunch with came completely over cooked. I didn't sent it back and suffered through it cause who knows how long it would take to get a new meal. Over very poor service I don't think I'll be coming back for lunch anytime soon.
Review Source:I am so over you, Yard House.
Let me just preface this with, I come her a lot. I work in the area, live nearby, and my gym is right down the street. So coming here for drinks after work, lunchtime, or post CrossFit OMIGODIWANTTOEATALLTHETHINGS happens quite often.
But we have gotten such horrible service here too many times to put up with it anymore. Which is a shame because we would regularly come here with 20+ CrossFitters ready to EATALLOFTHEFOOD and have $400+ bills and yet were treated like the biggest inconvenience ever. It's gotten to the point where we have been burned so many times by Yard House we started going to Game On instead!
The latest was when we showed up on a Sunday evening and the place was dead. This was after a two day competition where we were out in the sun and the heat, lifting heavy things. There was about 15 of us to start with friends trickling in during the course of the meal. And as per usual, we were treated by the staff like a group of petulant children. Completely unreasonable. We were just tired and hungry. We didn't even have much energy to be talkative. They messed up a bunch of our drinks, including my Youngberry stout, a beer cocktail made from Young's Chocolate Stout and raspberry framboise. When a waiter brought it to me he said, "Who has the Youngberry Stout?" I said thank you and took a sip. No framboise. A finally flagged down what appeared to be our head waiter and he snapped at me, "We are out of framboise." Well sir, then why did you take my order and then not communicate that to me? And why did your co-worker hand me the drink and tell me it was a Youngberry? He eventually switched the beer out to a Clown Shoes Clementine.
This same waiter was rude to my friend when he asked who was sharing the cookie sundae and she said it was just her.
This wasn't just an isolated incident. Yesterday I was coming here with co-workers and we where would be a good place to set up for just some casual apps and drinks. Again, the place was dead. The hostess sent us to the back bar, where we were promptly sent back up to the front because they were having a private party. We walked back up to the front (this happened on the Sunday after competition as well) and the two hostesses argued with each other on walkie talkies for a while till the manager showed up and suggested pushing tables together. They then fought over which ones and who was going to do it. The first hostess we spoke to actually said, "Do you expect ME to do that?" I then offered to push the damn tables together myself because I just wanted to sit down and have a drink at that point.
I'm sure I'll be back. It's inevitable. The food is yummy and the beer selection is good. But seriously Yard House, train your staff on customer service. You guys are kind a joke.
I stopped into the Yardhouse yesterday prior to catching a show at the House of Blues. Â I had read some poor yelp reviews but decided instead to rely on direct word of mouth, that being my boyfriend having had a good experience. Â Our waiter was pleasant, explained the beer list and let us decide what we wanted. Â We started with the moo shu egg rolls. Â They came out super fast and they were so delicious. Â Creamy, spicy, nutty, everything all in one. Â My boyfriend and I each ordered a 2 taco plate and split the tacos. Â I liked the chicken tinga better than the short rib, which I thought was a little too charred. Â As other reviewers wrote, the rice is a little bland to be called "spicy rice" but with some of the tinga sauce on it, it was spot on. Â Maybe the restaurant could consider "saucing" up the rice, offering diners options such as the tinga sauce, maybe a green salsa verda.. whatever they already have. Â Overall, out experience was great, two tacos was plenty of food and not bad for the price either.
