A group of us came here for a "pseudo-retirement" party (a friend of ours was leaving the world of finance forever - yay!), and it was really fun, actually. We all sat -- by all, I mean all 20 of us, somehow -- in the area right by the front window, at the high top table, and ordered a bunch of drinks and appetizers. It was just the right ambiance, with the windows open, right by the bar, right before the live music came on... very casual and comfortable.
And the food... YUM. The calamari was definitely one of my faves that night, as well as the buffalo chicken wings. To top it off, the bourbon ale they had on tap was awesome. The perfect mix of bar food. We also ordered a bunch of nachos and that mussels with fries dish. Though I only had the fries, many other people around the table adored and scarfed down every. single. mussel. in all of the THREE plates of that dish that we ordered.
They start the live music around 10, and there's a $7 cover if you want to stay after dinner for that portion, and though I left before the music began, those of the group that stayed said the music was good and the atmosphere was fun. I'd believe it!
I come here all the time (live down the street). This place is fantastic - the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about drinks, the food is great and there is often music. Last time we went there to listen to some tunes we even got cake! They even have an outdoor area and brunch. I am so lucky to have this as my neighborhood bar. Does not disappoint!
