Went here with some coworkers for dinner and drinks. Decent beer and whiskey selection. Food was so-so but reasonably priced. I had the bangers and mash - it was okay.

The service was really bad, however. Our waitress almost never came by and we had to get up to ask her for more drinks throughout dinner. She repeatedly told us "I have other customers, I don't have time." When we finally got the check from her, we asked to pay with a couple of cards. We offered to write the amounts on the receipt for each card, and she sighed loudly and again said she didn't have "time for this."

The next day one of my coworkers found out that she had erroneously charged the entire meal to my  coworker's card. She called to get it fixed.

    We won't be going back.

My husband and I have had breakfast in the Corrib several times and found it to be great.   I am vegetarian and they have always accommodated me with fried eggs, mushrooms, irish beans and toast.  .  Instead of dinner tonight we decided to head for the Corrib again for our 'fry-up'.   My husband ordered the irish breakfast and it came as expected.  I asked the waitress for a veggie breakfast and told her what I usually get.  To my total amazement I was served two fried eggs, Irish beans, toast AND brocolli, squash, sliced tomato, green beans and refried beans !

Sorry The Corrib, you have lost us.

I really wanted to like this place, as it has the look and feel of an Irish pub from the outside and even if you peer in the window at the bar. But, beyond the bar, Corrib Pub is definitely not worth a visit.

It was a last-minute dinner decision to come to Corrib, as it's a stone's throw from our apartment. We walked into the dining area and there was hostess. I peered around and saw one table of patrons, one of whom told us we had to walk down the hall and find a hostess to seat us. After a minute or so, we found her and were brought to a booth.

Our waitress was very friendly, but not good at her job, honestly. She gave us our appetizers very quickly... and our salads less than a minute later... and our entree's less than 5 minutes after that. Our table was full of dishes and silverware and was a complete mess, so much so that we had to move our condiments to the seat next to my boyfriend just to free up a little space.

The food itself was very, very gross. I got a fish dish and it was so bland I couldn't have more than a bite or two, surrendering to the fact that my dinner would simply consist of our bad mozzarella sticks appetizer, my small starter salad, and my mashed potatoes side dish.

Overall, this experience was barely worth a two-star review, so we will continue to choose Brighton Beer Garden over the Corrib Pub.

My wife and I have been regulars at the Corrib for years (though we've tapered off a little bit over the past six months), so it feels kind of weird to rate them. It's kind of like reviewing Sunday dinner at your grandmother's. I mean if I were being totally honest I probably wouldn't give them five stars but I really like most of the servers and I basically just feel welcome and at home here.

My problem with the menu is that the entrees are frigging huge so I have to be really hungry to get one. I know that sounds like a goofy criticism but I don't like having food go to waste, and when you get an entree you get salad or soup, some version of potatoes (or rice or pasta with a few options), and veggies on top of a heaping amount of whatever it is you've just ordered.

The food is always solid (except the salads can be a little wilty once in a while)... not like you'd write home about... or even write Yelp about... at least for the five plus years you've had a Yelp account... but good, honest food served by nice people.

Oh yeah... the Irish breakfast is very good. They serve it at all times but also have a more dinnery version called the Irish mixed grill which is just super... plus they do real Irish curry sauce and feature an appetizer of that with bangers and fries. Kick ass.

On a Saturday afternoon I visited Corrib Pub looking to fill my tummy between a double shift in Cambridge, what I got was a reason to return!

I'll keep it brief... Service was polite, timely, and didn't bother me with suggestions, that is, I didn't feel pressured into getting drinks etc...

The food was wonderful and more than I could finish, (bonus meal for the conservative type that actually eats leftovers as a meal).

I'll definitely return, perhaps with a res. on a hot night (Fri, Sat) and we can re-rate, but I'm sure it's a 5 either way, they care about what they're serving, and how they serve it, so I recommend Corrib.

    1 star because...
-I was charged for a beer that was never delivered.
-took a colleague there for their birthday celebration and was actually charged for the birthday ice cream sundae. Firstly, we didn't order it, and secondly eat the cost for crying out loud. Everything else evens out...

Bad business in my opinion and definitely skip for Devlins instead where the customer service better and personal touches don't get tagged onto you bill.  Stop trying to nickel and dime people...

Was in town visiting a friend and we decided to hit up the Corrib Pub for a casual dinner as he hadn't been there before and wanted to give it a shot.

I've always been a big fan of taverns and pub style food (also beer) so this seemed like a place I would enjoy.  The Corrib did not disappoint.  I started out with a cup of their chowder (we were in Boston after all) and it was good, not great.  However I realize that most people aren't looking for a good bowl of chowder at an Irish pub while in Boston.

I had read a review on Yelp that the Corrib had a great french dip sandwich (again, probably not the typical choice at an Irish pub) but definitely something I would order.  I am very glad I did as this turned out to be the best french dip I have ever had.  The roast beef was cooked medium and still very tender, while the onion roll was dipped in aus jus perfectly.  It was served with some sweet potato fries with a honey mustard dipping sauce.  I topped this off with a pint of Sam Adams seasonal and was a happy man.

Our server was friendly and attentive, and got bonus points for being authentically Irish (not confirmed  :)  )  It was a little unclear when we walked in if we had to seat ourselves or wait for a host, so that was a bit disappointing.  We ended up asking a bartender to find out to seat ourselves.

The atmosphere and price and the addition of on-site parking made this a winner.   Cheers to the Corrib Pub.

When asked this morning what I did over the weekend I immediately responded "had the best french dip sandwich I have ever had in my life."   That may seem sad, but it was the highlight and it was at the Corrib in Brighton.   I've been hitting the Corrib for the past few weeks now for a meal and a beer or four and have slowly fallen in love.   The bar is huge - no need to be on top of anyone else, the service is fantastic - never an empty beer glass, and the food is fantastic.   An inexpensive evening or afternoon, it's the kind of place where you can take anyone at anytime (drinking buddy on a Saturday afternoon, co-workers on a Friday night, parent for Sunday brunch, and a date if they are cool) and feel completely comfortable.

2 stars because i really like this place's down home kinda feel, and it's great for having a few beers, but the foods never really strayed positively or negatively from the "ok" rating, and the service is never great, but last time it was downright ATROCIOUS. this is how it went down:

**min 0 - my party of six seats ourselves (fine. it's the kinda place where you do that. totally cool)
**min 10 - um. is anyone going to come over?
**min 15 - ok guess not, no problem we're in the front and not the main dining room so maybe they don't know we're here, i'll go tell someone. yes there are other tables taken up in the front, but maybe they're all set. i'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
**min 20 - waitress shows up, gives us menues. walks away without taking drink orders
**min 35 - seek out waitress, ask her to take our drink orders and put in our appetizers
**min 45 - brings out drinks then appetizer, doesn't take dinner orders. forgets our waters
**min 55 - seek out waitress again "hi, can you please take our dinner orders? and get the waters we asked for?"

like come on. i have to get up and ask to be served THREE TIMES? and we're seated for an hour before the food comes out? it wasn't even that busy. it just kinda killed the experience cuz i was annoyed the whole time.

then i was supposed to have pan fried mash with my meal but it came with summer squash instead. a heads-up would've been nice. or even a "is everything ok?" before running away. i didn't feel like tracking her down a FOURTH time to complain and then waiting for it to be fixed, so i just dealt with it, but fuck. definitely not bringing a party here for dinner. sit at the bar and get burgers? fine. bring a group for dinner? no way.

I was shocked at the food. It looked like a typical pub, with a dining room totally separate from the bar room, which was nice. Food was awesome! I had the filet med-rare cooked perfectly, mashed potatoes were real, and the steamed brocoli was actually crisp, not mush. Sis had broiled scallops which were divine, cooked just right and not drowning in cracker. It looked as good as it tasted; a rareity. The waitress kept the guiness flowing and gave us quick service. The whole menue was on the cheap, definitely check this place out. only downside was the decor, it looked frumpy.

I love the corrib!! My boyfriend and I eat here at least once a week, the food is amazing!  the waitresses are lovely, and always pleasant  to talk to :) It's also a great please to grab a drink and isn't a sloppy mess like some other places in Brighton. I definitely recommend this place for dinner and especially for breakfast! yay corrib

I've had some mixed experiences at this particular Corrib Pub (the one in Brookline is pretty different in terms of atmosphere), but it's never been exceptional.

The food is decent (which is the only reason I've been more than once). My most recent visit was a product of wanting a low key dinner and Brighton Beer Garden was too packed for that to happen. Corrib, on the other hand, was nearly deserted (and I can understand why).

The service was absolutely terrible. Our server had what appeared to be only one other table, yet there was a wait on everything. Drinks were always empty, the food took forever, and we honestly started to wonder if she was ever coming back with our check.

If you really want to have food from Corrib, order it for take out or try the Brookline location. Save yourself from this location's service (or lack thereof).

    Three words: boxed mashed potatoes.

Unacceptable in any setting where I am paying for the food. And they weren't even done well - dry, clumped, gross.

The shepherd's pie had canned corn, canned peas, and canned gravy with some low grade beef (not even lamb).

Really, really a terrible place. The client base skews older, so maybe they are fine with getting served garbage. I'm not and I'll never go back. There are plenty of local places where I can get $5 Guinness but with better food.

I adore this place. Unpretentious, well-prepared food that reeks of home, care and kindness (particularly if you're Irish, English or resided somewhere in the UK for a significant portion of your life.) The fish is amazing, the wine is cheap and the vibe is neighborhood-oriented. Fortunately, all the idiot college kids, frat boys and douchers go next door to Brighton Beer Garden. May it remain that way for years to come.

I like Corrib pub. Both locations.

The service and food is always consistent. In this world consistent food and service is a major plus for me.

The vibe is there is very local. The crowd is older than a typical bar scene, which I like. I would rather be dining with grandpa's than frat boys any day.

The price of everything is great! I am always full and satisfied after leaving Corrib. My bank account is still in tact as well.

The Corrib Pub is doing it's own thing and I respect that. I will continue to eat there when I want some good eats and a friendly environment.

I think expectations often dictate how a burger will be. While I'm still on the search for the best burger in Boston, I'm also realistic, I don't think each new burger will be the best one and I can end my search, but I have to get to them all. I never expected the Corrib Pub to have Boston's best burger, and it doesn't, really I expected it to be somewhat of a train wreck, so in that respect I was slightly surprised that was relatively tasty. Conversely, I've been to numerous places that were supposed to be the greatest (Radius, O'Sullivan's, 5 Guys) but couldn't live up to the hype, it's not that I disliked those places just to be different, but when the majority of burger enthusiasts are saying it's the best, and it falls short, then it's a serious downgrade. The Corrib Pub has three locations in the Greater Boston area, in a bit of a rush, we hit up the Brighton spot for a quick lunch on Friday. They have a few burgers to choose from, I went with the Corrib Burger, sort of a kitchen sink type-sandwich, with mushrooms, onions, bacon, ham, cheese, lettuce and tomato. Bacon and ham? Indeed, not really overkill, just not all that necessary in my mind. The mushrooms are poor, and probably why mushrooms get a bad reputation, and the onions, a half-assed attempt at caramelizing, add nothing. But it's not all bad, the beef is cooked a perfect medium-rare, is juicy and has good charred flavor, not terrible for the char-grilled variety which I usually don't prefer. But the meat is too compacted, resulting in a bit too dense of a burger, not the light and fluffy kind I dream of. The American cheese is however, fully melted, and the bun, while fresh, needs a bit of a toasting to soak up the juices, nothing worse than a soggy bun, But there is too much bun, once again, as I'm left with a bit of a toppings and condiments only sandwich for the last several bites, no beef left in this party. To reiterate, this isn't a great burger, it's the perfect example of the lowest expectations, but at least knowing it's own identity. If you're in the mood to hang out with a bunch of booze-hounds on a mid-Friday afternoon, eat as typical a pub burger as you'll find, then maybe this is the place for you. And it's not terrible, it's just not inspiring, but for $7.25 and an okay tasting burger with zero expectations, you could do a lot worse.

Cool place.  Very "neighborhoody"  The bartenders are very friendly and seem like they are probably the owners too.

Generally, the crowd is older and very welcoming.  There were a few groups of thirty-somethings too when we went.

You can't beat the drink prices.  Beer and wine are around $4 a drink.

Definitely a hidden gem.  Next time I'll try the food.

For me, this is really the only 'neighborhood' type of bar in Brighton Center. I've nothing against the other bars, but this has that neighborhood feel. The beer selection is what you'd expect for this type of bar, nothing fancy, just the usual suspects in terms of Bud, Guinness and their neighborhood friends.

The food here is always really good. Just last night I had the Turkey Panini Special and it was awesome, and for only $7:95. The portion size was huge and I think it was more like two regular panini's pushed together!

The Guinness is good, sometimes they pour it a little faster than it should be poured but it still tastes great.

The only thing I don't like about this place is how bright it is at night time. The lights are not dimmed whatsoever so if you do not like bright bars, then this is not the place for you.

Redeeming itself on that stat is the fact that the Corrib has probably the cleanest toilets of any bar, ever -apart from a 5 star hotel bar I guess. But really, you could eat your dinner in the toilet, not that I'd recommend that at all at all.

The clientele is mainly made up of men,  men aged 40-60 years but occasionally, there are younger people in there too, such as last night. At 7pm, the place was full of just men and I was easily the youngest by 15 years, by 9:30pm, the average age was no more than 38-30.

The Corrib is a great little bar if you want a quiet drink, some good food, and to maybe catch a sports game on their TV without being bothered by anyone apart from the helpful bartender.

This is a solid bar that gets some traffic from the union hall across the street. Other than that there weren't too many people in the place and it was a little bright for 7:30 on a Thursday night. We ate at the bar and got friendly service at medium speed. I had the tuna melt which went a little something like this: bread-cheese-tuna filling-cheese-bread. Two slices of cheese = awesome. Fries were also very good. Check out the Corrib for yummy pub grub and chill atmosphere.

Oh, did I mention that they have great food specials at the bar during football games?  Like insanely good deals on mozzarella sticks, buffalo chicken fingers, and other appetizers at halftime.  And it's a great place to watch a BC game (they wave a Boston College flag outside) without BC students.

This place is an old standby. The food is solid, the service is quick and attentive, and the atmosphere is laid back. The latter is true probably because on the several occasions I've eaten here, I'm one of the only people in the place. Compared to bars like Brighton Beer Garden, Devlin's, and Green Briar, the actual bar area is pretty small, making it one of the best-kept secrets of the Brighton Center restaurant/bar scene.

Bottom line: come here for a bite and a beer or two on the cheap. If you're looking for something flashy after 9PM, you're better off heading elsewhere.

We live a 5 minute walk from here, and this has become our top go-to place to dine out in the area.  The food is great - there are so many choices that I always get something different - fish, chicken, steak, sandwiches, pastas, curries, burgers, you name it.  The prices are very reasonable, and the service is always very good, usually from Irish waitresses.  The place is always about half full of what seem to be neighborhood regulars, though for the price and quality, I sometimes wonder why it's not more popular.  Oh well, it's our little gem and we'll always have a table.

The Corrib is one of my favorite places in the city to go for a chill meal. My boyfriend used to live just down the street, so we were regulars for a while. The waitresses we had were all really friendly. One in particular would recognize my man and his roommate (who were frequenting the Corrib long before I was in the picture) and stop by our table for a chat when it wasn't too busy.

I only ever had one menu item that was sub-par, and that was the veggie burger. I'm a big fan of the Gardenburger-type variety, and Corrib's was some sort of a fried shell encasing corn and peas, etc. It wasn't horrible... it was really just a personal taste kind of thing. All the pasta dishes I tried were really good (pesto penne erred a bit on the bland side, but was still good), the grilled cheese is classically delicious, and the clam chowder is probably the best I've ever had. Really creamy and loaded with clams.

My favorite part of the Corrib experience is their dessert coffees. The Nutty Irishman (Bailey's and Frangelico, if I remember correctly) and Keoke (Kahlua, creme de cacao, and brandy) are my personal favorites. I've tried dessert coffees at several other places around the city, and the Corrib ties with Jacob Wirth's as my favorite. This winter I'll definitely miss the brisk walks down the street to get warmed up with a bowl of chowder and mug of coffee with a kick.

So I have only been to the Corrib Pub once, but it is a great little spot. If you are looking for a quick, cheap bite, this is the place to go! The clam chowder is great, and the bar is spacious. The services was great too and very friendly. It is definitely a pub like atmosphere and quite casual but good for a quick bite.

When was the last time you sat at a really long bar, had plenty of elbow room, and weren't forgotten by the bartender?  If this sounds like a good time, head down to the Corrib Irish Pub where there was a list of about 8 lunch specials, most for $8.95, including sliders, roast chicken, chicken parm over pasta, and, in an effort to send out the love to their Italian brethren, an Italian sub sandwich.  Feeling traditional, I went with bangers and mash ($7.95) off the menu, a plate of mashed potatoes with 4 Irish sausage links and baked beans.  Tasty, but could have used a few more sausages for this ever-demanding belly.  My friend had a roast beef sandwich with fries that was piled with meat.  Beers on tap include Sam Adams, Harp, Bass, and Guinness.  I'm sure they've stooped to Bud Light for the masses as well.

Oh, and there's a selection of about 5 or 6 flat screens over the bar where I witnessed press conferences about the ridiculous Spygate situation, though watching a real game would have been a lot more fun.

DELICIOUS BEEF STEW.  Apparently, when it's not crowded AKA week nights (maybe all the time?  Who knows lol) they don't open up the dining area, so we had to sit at the bar, kind of annoying.

Turkey club was full of fresh turkey, very tasty, but the beef stew awww man, what great comfort food.

The Corrib is a nice, quiet restaurant and pub.  I've never been there just for drinking, so I cannot speak for the bar side, but the restaurant is very cozy.  I've  only been there on week days after work for a quick dinner, and have never been disappointed.  Their prices are low, and the food is always cooked right.  I've had both steak and fish and never had a complaint.  The service is very friendly.

There is nothing special about the place, but that's part of what makes it good for me.  The atmosphere is that of a local pub, with older people from the neighborhood coming out for dinner.

Also, you can park in the lot next door, which is helpful.

The Corrib has sort of a geriatric-working-class Brighton meets just-off-the-boat Irish hooligan vibe to it.  When I was there for lunch this afternoon, the table in front of me was occupied by a group of skinhead-types in football jerseys screaming in a barely comprehensible dialect of rapid-fire English combined with some pagan language I wasn't familiar with.  I heard a lot of "fook"s but I didn't understand much else.  At the table beside me sat two octogenarian couples angrily complaining in thick Boston accents about . . . well, everything.  When I listened more closely, however, I realized that they weren't angry at all.  Apparently this is the way people who've been married since the Curley administration communicate with one another.

My turkey vegetable soup was excellent.  The baked salmon, however, was just so-so and the rice was undercooked.  I guess that averages out to an OK meal.  I didn't want any of the heavy desserts on the menu but the waitress said "no problem" when I asked if I could order a dish of ice cream, which was not on the menu.  She even sprayed on some whipped cream and put a cherry on top.

The bar and dining room were dark and the windows, which seemed above shoulder height, gave the place a cavernous feel.  The paper place mats contained ads for a number of local establishments, including the McNamara Funeral Home.   Given the patrons, I'm sure the ad has the potential to be quite lucrative for the Messrs. McNamara.

Overall, I'd say the Corrib is a diner masquerading as a bar but I'd try it again, if only to see if I could squeeze another star out of it.
