I am a major foodie and went to Fleming's for the first time recently. I believe this is an alright steakhouse but its not the best. The steaks were mediocre, and the sides were alright. The dessert was ok. I believe the hype is all behind the name, but not in the differentiation this restaurant supposedly brings.

quick early dinner for Happy Hour! Came early around 5 pm and got a table at bar fairly easily. Service excellent! Bar area filled up quickly. Happy hour menu decent. Best thing on there is the pot belly. Between the hubby and I, we ate 2 orders of pot belly (5 stars), one meatballs (4 stars), BBQ shrimp (1 star), 3 mixed drinks  (4-5 stars), choco lava cake (5 stars), and coffee. Cost-~$100. Still not cheap though. nice atmosphere. would come again.

2nd. time at this location on special occasion. Usually go to River Oaks.

Last time here a bit crowded and noisy. This time - more so. Feels like they have  25% more table than they should have. Had 36.95 prime rib special. Not like it used to be. No little cheese spreads before dinner, just biscuits. No choices on sides. Food was OK but not as good as I have had in the past. Carrots were flavorless and almost raw. Potatoes were OK. Prime rib was good but not great. Children's menu was $17.95 for not much of anything. Really!!! Main course arrived before salads were close to being finished. Will never go to this location again. Will check if the same menu is offered at the River Oaks location and if it is, I am finished with Flemings.

There are so many great restaurants in Houston. Why bother with mediocre.

Great food, but prices are pretty high. The cost of appetizers and small plates is the price of an entree at most restaurants. Good was delish however !

So it's official, this is my favorite Flemings location.
I have been here for dinners and happy hours from the city centre location vs the Kirby location and this one wins it.

In general, the food is delicious and I have to say, a little more savory. HH is just great alone with their awesome offerings. Remember only available at the bar area or outside. I agree with all the great things previous yelpers have raved about. I usually walk in and order one of everything with my girls and share, and then some. The burgers and the carpaccio are the favorites. For dinner, I usually order the main filet mignon since my previous expense of the bone in ribeye was always too fatty/chewy for my liking.

So the main reason this has been my go to Flemings is because of their service and dining experience at anytime of the day. They do win me over with their food because of their taste and portions. I feel that they take more pride in their presentation too. Now back to service, this place has always giving me wonderful service that I wanted and then some.

From my last experience I wish to share... I came here with a group of friends to celebrate 2 birthdays. We made reservations online and they were great for accommodating us at 7:30pm on a Friday night. Our waiter was very helpful in our selections and was able to assist us when our party of 10 grew to 12 last minute. Our waiter was also honest about his opinions on selections other than steak as the bday girl wanted to try 2 of their small plates. At the end of the evening, I just thought it was so nice that he'd split our checks to make it easy for us. In addition, he brought our birthday people a small box of truffles and a $25 gift certificate each. I don't know if it's standard but it was very sweet. I was just at the Flemings off of Kirby for another birthday dinner for my boyfriends brothers bday and they didn't give him anything. Haha. I sure rubbed it in his face. Anyway, the service at Flemings near city center is awesome with their attentiveness and servers with personalities. It really helps with the dining experience when we dish out extra $$$ for a special time. It was worth it and I just wanted to give Flemings at the beltway their compliments where it is deserved.

    This place is pretty legit!

Has the ambiance and service befitting a high end steakhouse, and delicious prime steaks! Why just four stars you ask then? Well follow me down the rabbit hole...

Came here on a Thursday night with a 6:45PM reservation, and was promptly seated. They have a serious wine list, and a decent list of appetizers and main entrees, and small plates. One gripe here, they ONLY serve prime rib on Sundays...wish they'd do it every night! Ordered the ribeye, bone in, cooked medium rare, with a side mashed potatoes and horseradish cream sauce on the side. It sucks that the steaks don't come with any sides, and that you have to dish out ten dollars in most cases for a side...really wish it came with one side. They also give you some bread with delicious spreads (one tomato, and one cheese). Not a bad conversation filler. But ahh...the steaks. My steak came to the table, with a perfect sear, at the perfect temperature, cooked evenly, and has a nice little sheen of butter over the top. The issue? It was a boneless ribeye that had a ton of fat on the outside (sad face!). That, and the horseradish cream didn't come out till maybe five or six minutes later (hence the four stars and not five). The girlfriend got the small plate of lamb and fried polenta and said it was the most delicious she's ever had. All in all, a great experience, minus the part where I did not get my bone-in ribeye...will come here again in the future to try the prime rib!

I have gone to this fleming's location now twice and both times I have had a less than stellar experience.  The first time was during restaurant week a year ago.  The service that time was good but our steaks were not very well prepared.  The medium rare steaks were more like well done.

We decided to give Flemings another chance on their prime rib dinner night.  We all got the prime rib and it was such a disappointment because the steaks were cool to luke warm to the touch when they were brought to us.  We told the waiter and they brought us fresh cut prime rib but it was just barely warmer than the ones that we had earlier.  We ended up eating the shared side while waiting for our steaks.  The staff and manager were very nice and kind but I couldn't get beyond the steak preparation.  It's a steakhouse and so I expect that the steak is done to order.  I can't say anything but positive things about the service... the waiter was nice and as it was one of ours' birthday, they had a written note, a takehome box of 4 chocolate truffles and a 25 giftcard to use for the next meal.  We never ended up going back to use the card but if I could get over the food quality, the rest of the restaurant experience was great.

I've eaten several times and I have yet to be disappointed. I am a fan of any restaurant that knows how to properly cook a medium rare veal steak or how to Pittsburgh a fillet. After all, for as much money as you pay to dine here, they better know how to prepare these type of steaks. As with all Fleming's restaurants, you walk in with high expectations of ambiance, service, and of course exceptional food.
I had the pleasure of celebrating a birthday here with family and had nothing but a fantastic experience from the moment I walked in the door until the time we left. Upon arrival, I was greeted by two smiling faces at the hostess stand who were quick to help me and to compliment me on my attire. Not that they needed to, but it always feels great when other women compliment you, especially on your birthday. I headed straight to the bar to wait for my family to arrive and was promptly greeted by the bar tender. I ordered up a martini and it in my hands within minutes of sitting down at the bar.
Once my family arrived, we were immediately seated at a half booth table. Fleming's has great over sized booth tables that are large enough to seat 6, so it was a very roomy table for just 4. Our waiter was both attentive, professional and charming...probably was trying to make me feel better about turning another year older.
I ordered a medium rare veal chop with a side of Bearnaise, creamed spinach and a house salad. The house salad was nothing more special than you get at any other high-end steak restaurant. The veal chop on the other hand, was absolutely flavorful, tender and cooked to perfection. It's a huge portion, so come either with an appetite or the intention of taking half of it home. The Bearnaise was prepared to the right consistency and taste that any french sauce should be, and it complemented the veal very well. The creamed spinach was typical, but had stronger hints of garlic than most creamed spinach dishes will typically have.
To finish dinner off, I indulged in a slice of chocolate cake complete with a birthday candle. I am very partial to always finishing my meals with a bit of rich dark chocolate, so this is always a win in my book. It's easy to mess up chocolate cake, but Fleming's certainly did not disappoint. I left with my belly full and my expectations exceeded.

Superb service ! They really make an effort to treat the patrons like a superstar.
We even got a hand-written card and a take-home box of 4 chocolates and a gift card for our next visit for our anniversary! AWW I feel so special :)
Oh yeah, the steak is great too - among the juiciest I've tried. Dry aged is the way to go. But I will say the sides could be a more generous portion. That'd be Perfect !

Very nice atmosphere.  My steak was excellent, but my husband had to send his back because it was undercooked.  When they brought it back, it was dry.  The service was very good.

Love Fleming's. Been there twice and sat in dining room and thoroughly enjoyed my Steak and sides. Typically though my wife and I go to the Bar where they have the best happy hour in town. The happy hour burger and onion rings is $6 and is really good, share an appetizer (calamari is our choice and is great), and have a few reasonably priced drinks from their happy hour selection. Great place, friendly staff, we go to happy hour about once a month there.

We had reservations and were seated immediately even though we were about 15 minutes early. It was a Friday night and they weren't too busy. The bread is delicious but don't fill up on it because the food is yummy! I had the lite filet mignon and asked if I could substitute the potatoes for asparagus. The waiter wasn't sure so he had to go check. It was the perfect portion for what I wanted and perfectly cooked. Our waiter was either new or horrible because he had to go check on the details of a drink special they were having, if I could substitute food and our plates sat on our table for awhile before someone else came and cleared them away. Besides off service I would definitely go back for the atmosphere and quality of food.

BEST PLACE FOR STEAK. Hands down!!!

I came here last weekend for my parent's 31st wedding anniversary and I'm wondering why it's taken so long to try this place!!! I always hear great things about Fleming's but actually going and trying their steak for a dining experience is something that no amount of words or positive praise can do justice.

Our server, John V., was EXCELLENT. He was so knowledgeable on the wine list, steak prep, and anything else we questioned him about. It's a good thing Fleming's has their waiters taste everything on the menu so that they know what they're talking about. He was also extremely attentive and observant.

My family ordered a bottle of "Menage et trois" red wine (it's a blend, wine) and the menu for everyone as follows (I don't quite recall the exact ounces of the steak we ordered but I'm pretty sure I'm close):
Main Filet Mignon- medium rare (12 oz)
Prime bone-in Ribeye- medium rare (22 oz)
2 "Specials" of the night- which included a trio of Crab cake, Petite filet mignon (8 oz) and almond crusted prawns (4)
Garlic Mashed potatoes (family style side dish)
Asparagus with red bell peppers (Family style side dish)
Chocolate lava cake for dessert (takes 20 minutes to prepare so order early)

The steak here cannot be compared! (neither can the bill. x__x ha.) The most flavorful, tender, piece of steak I've ever had. I wanted to savor every bite of my 12 oz filet mignon but it was just too delicious so I had to eat it, and I ate it fast! I was SO full afterwards, and the chocolate lava cake is to die for. I can't quite describe how this dessert "works" but the vanilla ice cream is presented with shortbread that's almost "fused" to it and then served with a molten chocolate lava cake. Perfectly oozing chocolate "lava."

To top off the night, Fleming's presented a card that read, "Happy 31st Anniversary! from the Fleming's family." It was such a surprise! They also gave my parents a box of Fleming's truffles (which are SO SO SO rich and decadent) as well as a $25 gift card for their next visit. We all left with a huge smile on our faces and a more than satisfied appetite. Thank you Fleming's Family and Thanks JOHN V.! You guys definitely know how to do business that keeps your customers happy and wanting to come back! We will be returning very VERY soon!

This is one of those difficult reviews cause it varies greatly on when you visit and who is paying the tab.  The most recent visit was on business.  The service was great, nobody ever had an empty drink.  I knew they would not have a good beer selection, but was disappointed with the bourbon and scotch selection.  Though the wine list seems up to par with other locations and similar steakhouses.

Vibe is a bit stuffy.  Small bar and outdoor patio.  A spread out area for dinners with a few private areas.  Really nice, but just stuffy.  There are any number of places I would feel more comfortable at.

They are very professional with reservations for large groups.  Though can be really hit or miss depending on when you come individually.  Of coarse the place will be great when a company/individual is dropping $500+ though not so attentive when it is just one or two people at peak hours.  Although they do try, but gets packed pretty quickly.

Anyway on to the food.  Apps were hit and miss.  Crabcakes were cold, actually most apps were cold.  The salad was unimpressive.  The steaks were cooked perfectly.  The service and the way the steaks were cooked is why they get three star from me.  Otherwise a much less impressive visit.

I can't say that it is bad, cause it absolutely is not.  Just not one of my favorite steakhouses or fine dinning places in Houston.  Especially considering the vibe and price.

My husband had been wanting to go here for a while and after seeing baked Brie on their menu I agreed that it would be a great place for our anniversary dinner.

Fleming's is in that new shopping area that people seem to either love or hate, City Centre, but luckily it is right on a corner off the feeder so you can get in and out pretty easily.

When my husband wanted to come here I was thinking Pappa Bros or Mortons, but when we got here my impression immediately changed to Taste of Texas.  That's not a bad thing.  I like Taste of Texas when I'm in the mood for a really good dinner, but don't want to have to bother with more than throwing on a pair of jeans and a nice shirt.  I got the same impression by scanning the dining room here as there was a mix of dress clothing and jeans (and even a t-shirt under a half-buttoned shirt).

Then I looked at their menu and again I thought "Taste of Texas".  Once again, that is not a bad thing.  Flemings has the expensive steaks, but they also have "small plates" and other options (prime rib dinner) that are $20-30.  So at each place you can get a good meal in whatever price range you want.

So the food?  It was good.  The steak was well prepared and they even finished making my blue-cheese mashed potatoes table-side.  The lighting was a bit dim so I couldn't make them out very well, but my husband said that there was a huge mound of blue cheese on top of the potatoes before they started mixing!  Yum!!  The baked brie was more like a deconstructed version with the apples on the side, but still yummy.

We did get a few sides with our steak so that we could have a nice lunch the next day.  I will say their chipotle mac and cheese was not very chipotle.  It just tasted like generic mac' n cheese to me (so my husband loved it).  The jalapeno potatoes?  They were pretty hard to cut into and so I wondered if they had been cooked long enough.  The drinks were pretty strong!  Just warning ya!

My biggest disappointment of the night was the fact that they put raisins in their carrot cake.  I hate raisins.  But honestly?  Their dessert menu is pretty boring.  I could get just about everything on that menu at an Outback or other generic chain.

For a special occasion is it a notch above Taste since at the end we were brought  a card and hand-rolled truffles in a box as a gift for our special occasion.  And these were definitely hand-rolled (the texture tells) and tasted as if they had a hint of rum in them.

As for service?  We didn't have a problem, but we did note that our waiter seemed to have too many tables and thought that maybe they were a bit understaffed for a busy Friday night.

So, the TL;DR version is if you like Taste of Texas, then you will likely enjoy Fleming's.  I'd say our experience was positive overall and we will likely be back as some of their "small plates" were calling my name!

It really annoys me when service is snooty especially at a mediocre restaurant such as Fleming's.  The server was obviously profiling us and since he thought we weren't worthy, he gave us attitude.  But as expected, the higher the bill got, the friendlier he became.  Fleming's is the typical mediocre steakhouse chain that tries to pander to the high-end i.e. rich white guys.

I've come to realize that better food = better staff = better service and since I didn't see any Michelin Stars or James Beard awards hanging on the walls, I should have expected the subpar food and service.

    I won't return to Fleming's.

Continuing our trek around Houston to find every steak house, the gf and I arrive at Flemings. We are making August an 'alcohol-free' month so won't be able to comment on drinks/wine. Will say that their ice tea was super dark/strong; had to add too many sweeteners.

We had two slices of bread each with the two different butters offered. Nice. I then got a cesar soaked in dressing (easy boy..) and she got a nice house salad with balsamic vinaigrette.

Main course time. We both wanted the peppercorn-crusted steak but on the menu only offered as a strip. I asked and they did it to a filet for me. Happy! She got the strip as it's her favorite type of steak. (Thought I was going to say fav kind of meat, didn't you?! Dirty mind!)

Steaks were great! Could have used some more green-beans. Our only family-style side was grilled sweet corn. Nice as well.

    + Cheesecake, espresso and tip = $165

This is my favorite steak house in Houston.  We celebrated both my anniversary & my wife's birthday here and every time we have come out full and satisfied.  The place is very elegant and professional.  The service is great, we always get attended to properly no matter how busy the restaurant is.  The best part of the service is that you actually have 2 waiters working your table so they are always looking out.

To start off the appetizers are great and a good portion.  Our favorite is the calamari, the flavor is diffidently unique compared to other places.

I always get the bone in Rib-eye, its big perfectly crusted and very juicy.  Me & my wife have actually shared it and came out good.

We didn't care too much for their Fleming's potatoes but the mashed potatoes are great.

The waiter did introduce us to their version of the molten cake and neither of us were real fans, but then again we were really full.

If your looking for a great date place or just a place to celebrate, I would recommend Fleming's!

I came here once with for a private party, so they led us to the small room somewhere in the back. It was really nice for a group of about 20 people (it was a friend's birthday dinner), beautiful room and I loved the full privacy. The staff were attentive the whole time, their food was fantastic (i found myself craving the salad for months to come).

It didn't really stand out as a dining experience to me, I think there are a lot of restaurants in the same league as Fleming's that I prefer, so I don't think I'll be back here (unless i'm invited again).

Overall, great food, great service. Just doesn't stand out for me, compared to other restaurants like it.

Our fav restaurant ever! My husband & I go to many steakhouse for work dinners. Flemings is by far the best one we've ever been to and it's our favorite date spot. The service is the absolute best & so is the food.

The sweet chili calamari is delish, their filet is the best steak I've ever had, also love the chipotle mac & cheese. Don't pass on the molten chocolate cake dessert. It is so worth the wait. if you feel like a splurge appetizer, the seafood tower is not only impressive but so good!

We always have the best waiters as well. They are professional, and take pride in the best service. Always nice and helpful but not too overly talkative.

The restaurant is very classy without being stuffy. Soft lighting, warm and cozy feel. Great date place! Recommend reservations & booths are the best spots.

A restaurant that offers happy hour always earn high marks on my end, but to offer happy hour and delicious food -- it earns Yelp's prestigious 5 stars!

Thank you Fleming's for offering high-quality, well-executed, stellar dishes! The wait staff is amazing and the location is the ideal spot in Houston -- City Centre in Memorial. As for the food, it was flavorful and tasted as good as it could possibly get. The burgers were cooked perfectly medium-rare, as requested and the other food items were seasoned adequately.

Here are some of my recommendations and how I rate them:
    --Fleming's Prime Burger - 4/5
    --Tenderloin Carpaccio - 5/5
    --Sweet Chili Calamari - 4.5/5
--Wicked Cajun BBQ Shrimp - 4/5

I don't know if I was just hungry that day, but almost everything I tried at Fleming's was superb. By far, one of the best happy hour offerings I've been to.

Went here for a date night with my boo, so I'll just break it all down...

Location is very good, and the look of the restaurant is very nice. The interior decor is just as fancy. Dimly lit. Nice atmosphere. Not too noisy. Romantic-esque.

Started with a couple drinks and the crab cake wraps- The Whiskey Rebellion, and a martini. Both were very good. My whiskey rebellion was one of the best drinks I've had.  The crab cake wraps were kinda like a mini salad. It had crab and bacon bits, and another few things on a big piece of lettuce. It was quite good, but around $15+ for just 2.

To move onto dinner. I got the porcini filet mignon and my girlfriend got the lite filet mignon. I believe mine was 10oz and hers was 6oz. We both ordered medium rare, and that's exactly what it was. It just melted in your mouth. One of the most tender steaks I've ever had. My side dish was asparagus, which was delicious, and she had potatoes, au gratin, I believe. Both were very good. We also got a side of creamed spinach which was one of the high points of the evening. It was some of the best.

Service- the service was very good. Not too little, not too much. Our waiter was a little odd. He'd ask a question, we'd answer, and he'd just kind of stand there for a few seconds before acknowledging our answer. Just a little weird. Had to repeat answers a few times, as it seemed after he asked us, he started paying attention to something else. Kind of a spacey guy. He was nice though.

    Ladies and Gentlemen,
    you're about to witness
    a culinary battle between
    Curious Tastebud and
    Gourmet Steakhouse.

    Round 1: Bite!
In the battle between salad dressing
and spinach, the salad dressing was
the heavy weight, pulverising the spinanch
out of the palette perception bite by bite.
Only the bacon and onion could give the
salad dressing a run for its money in the
flavor competition that was the first course.

    My face must have contorted,
as if I had just consumed lime
    after tasting the strong taste
of the spinach salad, wee bit sour.

    Round 2: Bite!
    "Trust the Gorden Fisher Men,"
    that's what Fleming's must do.
The crab cake tastes like a fish
    stick from the freezer section.

    Round 3: Bite!
I admit that my tastebuds don't gravitate towards steak.
Perhaps one day, I'll find a steak that changes my mind.
I don't agree with culinary giants that medium rare, is
where its at. I found the steak rather bland, but this could
be because I didn't have enough of the steak sauce beneath
    it.

The humanity! What's a steak without a potatoe?
It's like salt without pepper. Side orders are a bit
steep, as they run from 7-9 bucks.

And the verdict is: 3 stars for Fleming
On the positive side, ambiance and service win.
On the negative side, flavor and price lose.

It's been over a year now since the awesome Farrah-planned Yelp event at Fleming's (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/yelp-elite-squad-event-flemings-prime-steakhouse-and-wine-bar-houston#hrid:95nrEiYOuyQUcQKv8hL6Kw">http://www.yelp.com/biz/…</a>), but this chain steakhouse has been on my "to do" list for its signature 5-6-7 happy hour (5 plates/wines/cocktails for 6 bucks til 7 pm). Well, I finally made it back to Fleming's...but for dinner. It turned out to be much pricier than my original HH intentions, but I'm glad I came.

The GF and I had a pleasant conversation debating the proliferation of steakhouse chains (long story short: it's easy to cook steak and cheaper to procure in bulk), but despite the chain name, this Fleming's has a healthily local feel to it. The entire waitstaff was extremely friendly, and special kudos to our waiter Javier, who was attentive and humorous but not overbearing.

Now before I discuss how amazing the steak was, I'll provide the caveat that I'm generally not a fan of shelling out $30+ for a hunk of meat I could just as easily grill myself. This is Texas, which is cow country, and where grilling isn't a hobby so much as a way of life. That said, I'm giving Fleming's their due.

I went with the boneless ribeye, medium, which was a huge chunk of meat (everything's bigger in Texas, y'all) that I admittedly struggled to finish. You can add a sauce to your steak here (choices are peppercorn, madeira, and bernaise), which I did. Unfortunately, Javier's one slip-up was forgetting the sauce on my steak, which actually ended up before for the best. That sucker tasted perfect as is; there's no sauce required. Cooked to perfection with a pink interior that didn't end up bleeding, charred in all the right areas with just the right amount of marbling, and covered in a butter sauce that added juice without overwhelming with saltiness. A perfect steak. Kudos, Fleming's.

What else? They have a signature Fleming's 100, a laundry list of hand-picked wines that you can get by the glass. Which is great if it's a Monday, and you're not in full-on drinking mode. I went with an $8 Cab of great value with great flavor, and the GF was able to pick her favorite type, a Reisling. While waiting at the bar, she also spotted the mini-carafes and was drawn back to her European vacation. She had a hankering for cava, and lo and behold, it's on the menu! Foodwise, we split the crab cakes, which were pricey (I think $15) but tasty. She's not a beef consumer, so she went with the chicken and of course had to pick up the mac & cheese as a side.

To recap: the steak. My, oh my.

This Fleming's holds a very special place in my heart: it was the venue for my first official Yelp event in early 2009. Fast forward a year later, I am still infatuated with the food, service, and ambiance.

For this year's Faja's Day, the guest of honor chose Fleming's for our celebratory dinner. We originally had reservations for Reef but the man wanted meat and meat he shall have! Our family of seven had reservations Saturday evening at 7pm. Not a minute that we had stepped into the doors, the hostess led us right to our perfectly situated table. No waiting needed, no excuses to set up tables. We all appreciated the punctuality that's often lost these days even when making reservations.

Our server, whose name escapes me at the moment, soon greeted us along with glasses of water & loaves of bread. After making his spiel about the night's specials, we were left to peruse the menu at our own pace. For starters, we chose a few appetizers to share. Since this was not our first time there, we chose a few classics that we've learned to enjoy there: seared ahi tuna, tenderloin carpaccio, and sweet chili calamari. I often order these at the bar during happy hour (West Alabama location) and they're a great bargain ("5 items for $6 till 7pm"). Of all three, the carpaccio is my absolute favorite as it is served with capers, creole mustard sauce, and red onion. The seared ahi tuna is served with a spicy mustard, while the calamari gets a twist with sweet chili sauce.

For our main entrees our table ordered a wide variety of food ranging from seafood, filet mignon, NY strip, and my personal favorite, bone-in rib-eye. Every steakhouse I've visited, my go-to cut of steak to order is rib-eye. Perhaps it's just my taste-buds, but this cut to me is the most flavorful especially when cooked to medium. Fleming's bone-in rib-eye never disappoints (see pic)! And though I absolutely HATE taking left over steak home, this one still tasted great even after being carefully nuked a few seconds a day later.

Our family also enjoyed the side orders of creamed spinach, asparagus, mashed potatoes, and my favorite: the tower of onion rings (again, see pic). Perfectly battered and fried, then piled into a tower of doom, onion rings are my weakness (just ask my neighborhood Sonics)! Again, Fleming's has some of the best!

Five stars seems a little too gratuitous in Yelp-land, but I really could not find fault at this restaurant. From the way our reservations were handled (we had to keep changing the number of guests and time of our reservation), to the food, to the perfectly paced/timing of each course, to the service, everything was great! Best of all, though they have (complimentary) valet out front, there are PLENTY of parking spaces! That in itself bumped it up from 4.5 to 5 stars! =)

I went here after the disaster of RA sushi, I was not in a good mood, but Flemings pulled it off and I will be back.

I sat at the bar as I was dining solo and had a couple of nice glasses of wine before ordering the filet. I am very picky about my steaks, and had this one with the blue cheese on top of it. It was cooked the perfect temperature and the way I ordered it which is hard to pull off (Pittsburg Rare-Medium Rare). The service was phenomenal and staff along with the managing partner was pleasant and friendly to deal with.

I would give it five stars, but just can't do it to chain steak houses..... But this is at the very top of the chain steak houses.

There is nothing better than HAPPY HOUR!! Well, hold on... yes, there's something.. but I am in no liberty to discuss it on Yelp! (hehe)

Finally made it to Fleming's for Happy hour on a Wednesday night. Their happy hour goes until 7PM. When we made it there it was pretty packed. The crowd there is mostly older. People in their late 30's and early to late 40's. Since it was so packed we decided to go sit outside. It was super hot so we asked the waitress to let us know if anything opened up inside. She came back a few minutes later to let us know there was a table inside! (thankfully!). Their happy hour menu has three different sections with five different things on each. First section is mixed drinks, second is wine, and third is appetizers. Careful with the appetizers because the steak and the mahi are raw!

We ordered three appetizers and wine. The raw steak was OK. I got really full with just one piece. I didn't like the smell so I quit eating it. The manager was there and gave us a free crab cake burger and a hamburger. The crab cake burger was really good, but the other one was just OK. Wine was good, we ordered pinot grigio. My sister had crab cakes and the mahi, but she returned the mahi. The ambiance was easy going and the baseball game was playing on the TVs.

Valet is complementary, which was great. I enjoyed the happy hour, but the menu choices are not as varied as I would like. It's definitely worth a try. Enjoy!!

I feel that Flemings has become a destination of sorts for yelp-mates who are able to leave the realm that is ITL.  I would say "way station," but that's only by a far stretch of the imagination as this is well off the beaten path...okay, fine I'll rephrase, it's not on MY way home from work.

I've been here several times, and now have a mild fondness for it.  It's a great place for events, but most decidedly for happy hour.

I went to an elite event here recently.  <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/yelp-elite-squad-event-flemings-prime-steakhouse-and-wine-bar-houston#hrid:bV-kYgHnxJM2phigkC9sCg">http://www.yelp.com/biz/…</a> The theme smartly enough was James Bond.  Slow on the uptake?  Ian Fleming wrote the James Bond novels.

Most recently I went for an impromptu happy hour.  Granted, happy hours are really never impromptu, but this one and the location were.  A large group of yelpers were in the area, our initial happy hour plans fell through, so we hiked a few blocks over (in the heat) to a place that had a tried and true menu with amazing prices.  The 5 for $6 until 7pm.  It reminds me of a song "I Hope I Get It," from A Chorus Line...there's a part in the intro that's counted off.  (Right, moving on.)  That would be a choice of five appetizers, wine, or cocktails for six dollars until happy hour o'clock.

The pros and cons of intimate seating in the bar area.  Perfect for small groups...only.  After we ate virtually every appetizer on the menu, the ten or so of us retired outside.  The temperature had dropped to a mild 85 with 60% humidity, so it was pleasant.

If you find yourself in the Town & Country* area of the newly nicknamed "Energy Corridor," definitely stop by.  Once the outdoor shopping center opens (I spotted a sign for a second location of my favorite clothing store), this will make a perfect choice for regenerative beverages.

*Technically the new shopping, restaurant, hotel area is called "City Centre," but as it's nowhere near the center of the city, and they fancified the spelling of "Center," I refuse to call it as such.

I have yet to sit down for a normal dining experience here, but I'm a huge fan of their happy hour and I keep coming back for more.

Their happy hour deal known as the '5 for $6' served until 7pm lets you pick from  5 different cocktails, 5 choices of wine by the glass, and 5 delicious appetizers.

I love their crab cakes which are served with a red pepper sauce. Their beef Carpaccio is quite tasty as well; I tend to get full after eating one. A new favorite of mine is their Cajun barbecue shrimp; they come with a kick of spiciness that I really liked. As far as drinks, the white Cosmo is my favorite, but you can't go wrong with a glass of Pinot noir or one of their other wine/cocktail selections as well.

Service is pretty consistent for the most part. Indoor seating is very limited for happy hour customers so get there early! They have a patio available for outdoor seating as well, but this IS Houston and so happy hour is usually over by the time its bearable enough to sit out there.

I have only listed some of my favorites from their 5 for $6 menu that I have tried so far; I'm sure by the end of next week I will have tried it all!

Ordered the mojito - didn't really "taste" the vodka but I guess it snuck up and hit me when I finished the drink. A little on the sweet side and not as much of a minty kick, it is a good drink opener to get things started. The white cosmos are... off the hizzle! I'd come back just to down a few of these.

The ahi tuna has a really bold flavor/seasoning. I really enjoyed it. I can imagine that being a delicious addition to a steak. The crab cakes is a must - lots of crab meat and the drizzle is great. The carpaccuio was good - the toasted bread and the accompanied toppings made it a well rounded taste.  Calamari - has a little bit of sweetness to it so it was definitely a small twist. The beef tenderloin bites were ok, I preferred the ahi tuna.

Outstanding staff, and the bartender is a bit cheeky but all in good fun :D

OK this review is strictly for their happy hour.

    They offer 5 cocktails/wine/appetizers for 6 dollars until 7 o'clock.

    Interesting concept they got going.

I'm not much of a wine drinker so I stuck to the cocktails and appetizers.

I had the mojito at first which was not minty enough. We switched over to the margarita which was much better.

As far as the appetizers our group tried the tuna which was good, skip the sauce, the crab cake was delicious, and the carpaccuio was OK.

It would have gotten a 5 star but the bar tender was a total douche. He clearly did not like his job and made it apparent to all of the customers.

Whoa! What was in those white cosmos I had??

First off, I want to thank Anthony for inviting me to this UYE =)

I'm  glad he told me of the second Flemings location, because I almost went to the one on West Alabama, pheeew!

On with the review, Flemings on W Alabama is very nice, the food was excellent so I was thinking it would be the same thing at this other location, I walked in and I was very impressed with the decor, since that is my passion I always notice that first. Very nice!

We all sat out on the patio. The patio had massive shade, so that was a good thing. I first ordered a mojito, I just dont learn! I cant order a mojito in Houston, everyone I have ever tried SUCKED! If anyone knows where I can get a decent mojito, please let a sistah know =)  I didnt even finish it, it was like sugar syrup water......I order a white cosmo, mmmm, so good! I had two of those and can I tell you, that I really like Flemings happy hour 5 for 6 by 7?? Great deal!  I wasnt that hungry, so I only ordered one app, the canjun bbq shrimp, it was so good & spicy & the shrimp wasn't shrimpy at all, those things were huge!  The service was good, even though they were slammed, our waitress seemed to be hustling, I appreciate that.  All in all, I thought it was good.

When I got home, I had a mini-hangover! Really, what was in those drinks?? Im giving it 3 stars becasue of this one detail, I had a major alcohol headache when I got home. I'm not a lightweight, I can hold my drink with the best of them, but maybe they use the cheaper alcohol for happy hour??

Thank you Anthony for inviting me out. It was really cool meeting some of the other yelpers: Eren, Farrah, Eva K., Eva L., Alex, and I have a really bad memory AND im bad with names, but it was a pleasure meeting all of you's!  :o)

Got invited by my dear new friend Tony to the new Fleming's way out yonder... it was actually much closer than I thought.  Anyway, it's really a great location and right near other new stores and restaurants, so I'm glad to know it's there.

Great atmosphere and super service as usual for a Fleming's production.  I used to live about 3 min from the Fleming's in Las Vegas - loved that place!

Although I was not eating since I'm on day 8 of my Master Cleanse, the food smelled and looked awesome!  That took absolute and incredible will power to just say no to all the wonderful appetizers that were in front of me, but somehow, someway I stuck to my guns and passed up the great food for a tasty bottle of water.  But it smelled awfully good!

Our server Jason was right on top of things and took care of us very well... will be back when I'm finished with day 10 of my cleanse!  Thanks for the idea Tony!

One of the things I noticed about Farrah's White Cosmo was that it was served with a big lemon peel pulled off a lemon wedge for their iced tea instead of a real twist.  That's tackiness.  Serving a good drink is all about presentation then taste.

Spiny Lobster - too dry.  I like mine with a little juice dripping after I bite into it.  This just didn't have enough of lobster juice in it.  It was way better than Red Lobster though.  It was a good 3 pounder, my guess.

Fillet Mignon was too dry too.  Don't know what happened here.  I asked for medium but it came out with a tad of pinkness in the middle.  It had the nice charcoal flavor to it with some seasoning on the outside.

Fried Calamari appetizer was very good that had it's own unique sweet tarty flavor to it.  It was way too greasy though.  They should have used paper towels to absorb the grease before serving it.

We were well accommodated by the friendly manager and the waitress.  Even though some of us weren't as well dressed as some of the guest there we were still treated with much respect.  The cocktail waitress allowed me to create my own dinner by having lobster and a small fillet mignon.  I appreciated that.

Great place to impress a date but not the first place that comes to my mind if I want steak.

Oh if you need more info about their happy hour specials look at Eva's review.  =P

I love love LOVE all the new stuff going up at Town & Country. Living on the west side is just getting better and better these days. I was so excited to finally try the new Fleming's on Tuesday, and many thanks go to Anthony H. for putting the Yelp happy hour together!

The happy hour menu is pretty awesome, and I agree with Danielle S. that the drink prices aren't too special, but the appetizer deals are amazing. You could easily have a dinner of appetizers and a glass of wine for $18. Such a deal! I tried the chardonnay and the pinot noir on the happy hour menu, and both were decent. The chardonnay could have been better, but it was Mondavi, I knew what I was getting into. The pinot noir was fruitier than I expected, and quite flavorful, especially for $6.

The bread that Anthony H. requested was unbelievably good. Warm, sliced, soft, in a word - perfect. It's hard to pick a favorite spread, but the sun-dried tomato had quite a bit more flavor than the brie. Both were really fantastic though. I sampled some of Ashlee M.'s carpaccio, which was so much better than I was expecting. The beef was sliced super thin and dressed with a light sauce, capers, basil and parmesan cheese, or was it egg? (let the debate begin!) plus it was served with slices of toast covered with melted cheese. It was really unbelievable. I also tried Ashlee M.'s calamari (I love it when the people next to me order food!) and it was good. I agree with her that the calamari itself wasn't anything special, but the tangy sweet sauce was excellent.

Overall Fleming's is fantastic and I look forward to many a happy hour here. Service was excellent, and the restaurant is gorgeous. The bar area got a bit tight as the place filled up, but the patio off the bar is a great place to get away from the noise.  I can't wait to have dinner here one day!

Can a chain restaurant be exemplary?  I wasn't sure of this principle walking into Fleming's, but the attentive staff and the subdued decor inside this steakhouse certainly tried their best to woo me and I have to lean towards an answer of "yes".

This brand-new steakhouse at Town and Country City Centre would make a fantastic fancy date night destination, but their happy hour makes Fleming's extremely affordable.  At $6, the menu of selected wines and mixed drinks are just an okay value compared to other places (though it's about half off from regular menu prices), but the appetizers are a fantastic deal.  I can't think of a single place in town besides this one where you can even come close to having carpaccio or crab cakes for $6.  I tried a bite of each and both portions came close to being a meal in itself.  Complimentary potato chips are served in baskets, which aren't the Lay's variety but the thick-cut, gourmet ones.

Since apparently Tony is already a regular, he was able to hook us up with some of their signature herbed bread, which came out piping hot and sliced crossways.  I didn't try the tomato spread that Ashlee M. and Eva K. are raving about, but I did try the champagne-infused brie and never made it past that.  Extremely yummy.  I was on my way to dinner at Ibiza later that night and had to hold back for fear of stuffing myself too full!

I only tried the mojito here since I was just popping in and out, but it was all right.  A little bit too sweet for my tastes, but I'd be willing to try some of the others on the menu.  Service was very good.  Our waiter, although he was swamped with lots of other customers, was able to swing by and clear away any plates or used glasses and keep us well fed and watered.  The manager came by our tables and let it slip that Fleming's would be the site of the next OYE--hooray!  I think I'll like this place even more when Papa Yelp is picking up the tab.  :-P

The only complaint I have is that I wish the bar area was a little bit bigger--during happy hour, it became a little difficult to move around.  Fleming's combines old school service with good food and good atmosphere.  I'll be coming back here in my 1940's vixen dress and heels, because it definitely makes me feel like a classy dame.

After missing Tuesday's UYE happy hour at Fleming's and catching up at work I decided to attend Wednesday's HH. Feeling gleeful, I lowered the top on the convertible and headed out to Fleming's.........a week early. (thanks to Danielle for setting me straight, I originally thought I went to the wrong location, duh).

Knowing this double err in judgement will make me the front contender for Houston's Yelp Dork of the Year, I still decided to be honest in this review, knowing I will catch all sorts of grief.

Upon entering the bar area, I surmised my error but took a seat at the bar and ordered a glass of pinot grigio. The friendly bartender asked 'Are you meeting anyone?' to which I replied 'Nope, just wanted to have a glass of wine or two before heading home' (which was true).

Joey and Quyen (the bartenders) were attentive and wonderful. Being a tuna tataki whore, I placed my order for the appetizer. Joey asked rare or medium rare? M.R. please knowing most restaurant's version of rare is too rare for me. The order came out quickly and I dove in. The tuna was very fresh and the mustard sauce not traditional but very tasty with a great kick to it.

Maybe next time I will actually show up on the correct date, but I don't regret my error as the experience was quite delightful.

Soooo.... Fleming's... steakhouse and wine bar. Am I a steak person? Not really. I just know how I like it. Am I a wine person? Not even close. Good thing others know a thing or two about wine. The list was huge.

I usually don't go to steakhouses because the first thing that comes to my mind is Steak and Ale. Ugh. Steak can be cooked completely wrong, no matter what type of cut it is regardless of whether you go to an expensive or cheap restaurant. I like my steak medium rare. Apparently this is difficult to do at the restaurants I've been to. Hence... I don't go to steakhouses.

Fleming's steak was perfect. Perfectly seasoned. Perfectly cooked. I had the filet mignon. It melts in your mouth like butter. Their portion sizes are also perfect. I ordered the smaller portion and it was served with potatoes (scalloped). Most restaurants you go to these days gives you way too much food. Getting your money's worth should be in the quality of the food, not the quantity. Their portions reminded me of European or New York dining. Quality... not quantity.

I'm tempted to give 5 stars (4 stars because it's quite pricey here). Surprisingly, the 5 stars wouldn't be for the steak but for the champagne infused brie spread for the bread. Mmmmmm..... I've never tasted anything like it. Don't fill up on the bread but you will be tempted to do so.

Service was fabulous (I rarely say that). Love restaurants with an open kitchen.  Atmosphere was fabulous. Get a booth... you won't even notice the typical restaurant sounds. Nice patio except for the tree roach that suddenly appeared out of nowhere (but there are trees around there).

    One last thing... nice ceiling.

So here we have it.....it's Houston..yet another "Steak House" but..... wait a minute..... Flemings IS different.

It has a modern, cool chillout feel and also has music to match. Did not get that "River Oaks old school" vibe here. Not a single stiff in a Blazer to be seen and no whining Platinum rinsed, Tiffany adorned, stick up the arse doofs either.

With its chic decor and ever attentive, but not intrusive, staff the feel was relaxed. The people around me were casually well dressed and giving off a kicked back atmosphere.

Flemings could actually be that Holy Grail of the evening, all things to all people. A Date venue, Dinner with friends, that 'Special' occasion or even quick bite after work. It has seating arrangements to suit any of these scenarios and is easy to get to and parking is freely available in an area that is rapidly becoming a hot spot for new businesses and nightlife.

On this, my first visit, I had a Tom Collins to accompany my gratis hot bread and spread (Champagne infused Brie and a tangy Sun Dried Tomatoe affair..mmmmm) whilst I picked out an Entree. Be careful with the delicious home made Chips they casually place at your side. You could well be full before you get to the real goodies.

    I went with;
Fleming's Salad (seasonal greens, candied walnuts, dried cranberries, tomatoes and croutons)
    and the
TUSCAN VEAL CHOP lightly breaded, roma tomatoes, basil
accompanied by the 'Half and Half' side (double-cut shoestring fries and onion rings)

I kid you not...the Veal was stellar tender and cooked perfectly and the Tomatoes were ripe, sweet and juicy. I have eaten many breaded Veal cutlets but nothing as good as this. Food porn at it's horniest.

    Will definitely be heading back for a few sundowners on the patio based on their "5 for 6 'til 7" offering which runs until 7PM nightly. You can choose from;
    5 selected Cocktails
5 selected Wines ( from the Flemings 100 list )
5 Selected Appetisers (Mouthwatering and size HUGE!!)
    ....One selection costs $6 so for $18 you could have yourself a nice soiree on the patio with, say;
    1 Glass of Pinot Grigio
    1 White Cosmo
    1 Tenderloin Carpaccio (shared)
.......You cannot beat that with a sh*tty stick

I liked it and, trust me on this, I think you will too.
