My family and I were looking for a place to grab a quick bite. Most places in the area were either closed (opening for dinner only) or only serving breakfast items (e.g., bacon, eggs, toast, etc). This restaurant was serving brunch but had sandwiches on its brunch menu. Upon entry, a friendly female waitress approached us.
The restaurant seems like a great place to grab a beer and watch sports (Wimbledon was on!). However, the service and quality of food was meh.
Â
We placed our takeout order at the bar, which consisted of a BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich and a Crab Cake Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries. Not only did we wait for 30 minutes, but they also messed up the order. We didn't realized this until we got back to our place. They gave us steak fries instead of sweet potato fries.
The BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich was reasonably priced and delicious. The Crab Cake Sandwich was a bit pricey and there were more vegetable fillers than crab meat. The avocado salsa was not fresh, hence 'brown in color'. Cocktail Sauce, Mayo or Tar Tar Sauce on the Crab Cake Sandwich would have been a better choice.
Not a bad place for a get-together with friends. The usual suspects when it comes to the beverage list - have not eaten here so I can't comment on the food. Each time I've been here, it was with a fairly large group which congregated in the front. There's enough space to talk to everyone, but I think the table layout in the front is a tad awkward for milling around.
Review Source:Stopped in while in Boston. Great lil neighborhood bar n grill with a nice cozy vibe to it near the MGH. Â Bartender was extremely pleasant and attentive. Â Was served a pumpkin beer with a pumpkin spiced rim of sugar that was distinctively Bostonian on his recommendation. Â Would definitely visit again if I every come back.
Review Source:I was visiting in Boston and was a little skeptical when we first arrived here. However, I had a great time watching a hockey game here recently. The patrons and staff were all SO friendly!, and as an out-of-towner that was very refreshing. Our waitress was a little flighty, but also super busy. The food we tried was just appetizers but they were good, and everything was very reasonably priced. Even the Karaoke was fun. I'm glad we found this place!
Review Source:Came here with friends last Friday and apparently they could not handle the fact that it was busy.  Our waitress was horrible, she was very inattentive and barely came over to our table even though we were ordering drinks and food.  She gave us dirty looks everytime we asked her for something and gave my friend the dirtiest look when she asked for dressing on the side with her salad.  The waitress also took our drink menu away even though we wanted to keep it because it seemed like they were experiencing some sort of menu shortage since some weird guy came over and stole our menus as well.  We had to wait a really long time for our food even though we were just getting salads and bar food and the older guy who I am thinking was the owner/manager was the one that actually brought it out.  We tried to ask him for more drink menus when he came over since our waitress was MIA but he ignored/didn't hear us.  It was a total mess and definitely put a damper on our night.  The only plus  I would say is that their salads were good but I would not go back to a place like that just for the salad!  It's amazing that this place is still in business, I think it is in need of some serious new management or maybe that undercover show on the Food Network could come save it!
Review Source:Worst pancakes ever. 40 minute wait for pancakes. Pancakes thinner than my pinky finger, crunchy on the outside, yet somehow raw in the middle. Disgusting, ate half of one paid my bill, and left.
For lunch or dinner, I would hive them 2 stars but if you go for brunch avoid the pancakes.
A tavern is a tavern is a tavern and The Hill is certainly one of them.
Moderately priced beer at a moderately cold temperature with a moderately drunk mix of Beacon Hill regulars (from moderately academic coeds to moderately successful suits).
The biggest pro (and con) about The Hill is that it'll never get slammed - service is attentive, pint glasses are clean - but that's because there's no risk here. Hookless, without character and content to be just another in your pursuit for a nightcap or a plate of the same pub grub you can find at half a dozen places within a stone's throw.
Location, location, location and about as mundane as this review's repetition. "I wouldn't not go again," said everybody ever.
We bumped into this place as we were staying just behind on Philips street during our stay in Boston recently.
It was a cold miserable day and this place provided a warm ambiance.
Plus:
We were immediately seated.
The bartender gave us ample time to make up our minds.
There was a nice variety of bear and cocktails to choose from.
The food was spot on, just the way we have requested him to.
Not so plus:
It could have been warmer. The heat was turned down a little bit.
The waiter seemed to be rushing us, which we did not let him do.
The mimosas were too sour, could have used a little more orange juice.
Over all it was not a terrible experience and we are definitely going to visit again whenever we are in Boston.
This place is great for an after work drink and snack but I wouldn't come her to have a great dinner. Â It's usually super crowded, except for Sundays, and it's really dark in here. Â Now I'm a fan of ambiance and love low lighting but I mean its really dark! Â Not that big of a deal though, right! Â The food and drinks are whats important here. Â They have a decent selection of drafts and bottles and they even have cider on draft. Â If you've had a rough day and need a shot, this is definitely not the place, unless of course you like to shoot straight whiskey, bourbon or vodka. Â They do not have any liquors that I classify as a "shooter" i.e. goldschlager, rumpleminze and not even Jager!! Â I mean seriously, what bar in America these days does not carry Jager?!? Â
On to the food... They have fresh cut fries in the style of steak fries, which are pretty tasty. Â I had the fish n chips and it was decent; nothing to rave about, just your average fish n chips. Â I've also tried their Chicken Marsala and that was pretty tasty, but my only complaint was the sauce was really watery. Â I was expecting a thicker sauce over the chicken... Â But no biggie, it was yummy. Â
Our waitress was attentive on a busy night so thats a plus! Â I would come back, but mostly for happy hour beers and appetizers.
I live around the corner and come for food and drinks at least every couple of weeks.
Food-- contrary to some of these reviews, the food is a step up over average and the prices are competitive, with sandwiches clocking in around nine bucks. Â Sweet potato and regular fries are both hand-cut and usually excellent (once in a while you'll get a soggy batch), and all sandwiches come with the choice of a mixed green salad for no extra cost. Â (You can also do half and half but sometimes they give you guff about it.) Â Entrees look pretty solid but 4 out of 5 times I get the TURKEY CLUB. Â This is enough for two meals, piled high with roasted fresh turkey on Texas toast. Â Yum. Â Ask for some spicy mustard on the side.
Beer- If you like craft beers, the Hill has a well above-average selection, constantly rotating taps, local brews, and good prices, usually $5.50, making it cheaper than the likes of Tip Tap and some other places.
Service- Â Eh, spotty. Â Sometimes you'll get a great server, but there's also a bit of 'tude going around. Â To give them credit though, this place is usually jam packed, especially Thursday/Friday or during a big game.
Overall, there are not a lot of choices in this immediate area (more with Tip-Tap) but the Hill is solid.
I am a big fan of The Hill Tavern's 4-6pm half price apps. This spot is great for those in the Beacon Hill/MGH area. Definitely order the spinach dip - gooey, cheesy, warm, you can pretend it's healthy due to the spinach.
Also a nice selection of beers and cider on draft. I first tried Down East cider here and it's now my favorite hard cider.
I've also attended a group event here on a weekday afternoon. The waitresses did a great job accommodating variously paying singles and groups.
It's weird for me to review the Hill Tavern. Â It's like my third home here in Boston [first is obvious, second is my office, and uh, yes, the third is a bar...don't judge]. Â The place is just so comfy when my coworkers and many of the MGH people we work with meet here without having to decide on a place. Â Chock full of wooden interiors, it gets really busy after 5pm. Â In the last couple of years, they finally expanded on their beer selection to create a very impressive beer menu boasting Whale's Tail, Allaghash White, Brooklyn Lager, Goose Island... Â Best of all, they also included a cask beer on rotation. Â Service at a table is slow though...but at the bar, it's the best.
Review Source:I'm super pissed.
I've been to the Hill Tavern many times before. It's a totally passable pub-food joint, and I had been happy to return. Unfortunately, my most recent visit has ensured that I will never visit again.
Our waitress accidentally charged us for an extra round of drinks. No big deal; accidents happen. We brought it up to her, and she said she would alert her manager. Fine. Manager (wearing shorts and crocs) comes over, and says that we are trying to steal a round of drinks from the house. On a $250 bill, that's a bit of a stretch. Even if we were mistaken, the $20 that the round cost wouldn't have broken the bank. Instead, we were treated like criminals that were trying to "escape" an overlarge tab. Even if we were wrong, I felt like I was treated like a walking piggy bank -- simply a means for that manager to cash in. I felt violated. I was also unhappy with how the manager treated my table -- it felt as though he viewed us as a cash cow from which he could extract extra cash to buy more shorts. He even threatened to call the cops -- over $20 in beer!
Long story short, got accused of "stealing" a round that we were never served. Never coming back, and I suggest you don't go unless you plan on buyings drinks "for the house...."
I like the Hill Tavern. It's always busy and yet we always seem to get a table. In the warmer months the tables outside are more pleasant that you'd think for Cambridge Street. The vibe is good, the food is good and generally the service is pretty good. The Hill serves a great Sunday brunch. I recommend the eggs benedict, their spicy bloody mary, and the French toast.
In case you cannot find it elsewhere online brunch currently is served weekends from 11AM until 3PM.
I love the Hill. Granted I live down the street and love to drink in dark places so that's probably why.
BUT the food is pretty good, the bartenders are great and really nice though some of the waitresses are really slow especially on busy evenings. They have a good selection of beers on tap, including cider which I appreciate but it's Harpoon which kind of negates the whole drinking draft cider thing since Harpoon cider is absolutely disgusting. BUT it's a great place to start the night, end the night, hang out with some friends over a drink or go by yourself if sitting a bar sounds like the way to solve your problems... or whatever.
As long as I am living in beacon hill I'll be drinking at the hill tavern.
Awesome bar with a good spread of spirits. The bartenders were attentive and good at finding me a beer that I might like. I didn't eat any food, so I can't speak of it, BUT try the beer sampler and sit at the bar for some friendly conversation.
It's close the Holiday Inn, so if you are staying there, I'd suggest the 2 minute walk for a chill place. Not dive-y per say, but jeans and t-shirts is just grand.
I live a block away and have gone three times. The first was early I think on a Sunday. Got a seat near the window, uneventful, quiet, fine. Not too expensive, standard pub fare. Liked it enough to go back as it was so close.
The next time it was busier early on a Sat eve, but got a seat outside after a short wait at the bar (bartender forgot what I had ordered when I went to cash out, but was nice). Same cost, same food, loved the people/dog watching and enjoying the weather. Didn't so much love the near constant sirens going by due to the hospital being right there - they echo/bounce off of the buildings and the first few were amusing, but eventually they just got old fast.
The waiter apparently got bumped by someone and had dropped my food on the floor - he offered me the food to be redone at a discount and a free beer. I said no worries, just bring out a new one and don't worry about it. Offered me a free beer again, but I didn't care - just wanted my food, no worries.
Little slow picking up the check, but we weren't really in a hurry either.
Next time was 8pm on a Thurs. No available seating outside, so got seats inside. The guy seating us said something, couldn't hear - felt embarrassed in that I had to ask three times and nearly hug him to hear that he was going to walk us to the table - why this was a problem, no clue. It was noisy, but in noisy places just wave people on - whatever - my date couldn't hear him either. Got put in the corner, so it was ridiculously noisy. Couldn't see anything as we were facing the corner. Cold air was blowing on us - 90 degrees out, but were shivering the entire time inside and I rarely have an issue with being cold. Neither my date or I could hear each other unless we screamed into each other's ears, which was very annoying. Waitress was late to get to the table, never brought us drinks, took forever each time. I bit into something hard in my burger, but otherwise it was tasty - the sweet potatoes were cold and they never brought ketchup. Finally after an hour saw me get her attention and I was trying to get the check, but she ran away. 10 mins later she brought over drinks and said she thought someone else got them. Said didn't care just wanted the check. Another 10 min wait and we got the check. She never showed to pick up the check, so instead of paying with a debit card I just went to the ATM in the dining area (it was filthy and covered in old food and grease and maxes out at taking out $100), got cash to pay since the waitress was MIA. First time I've ever tipped so little - 10% - but I am pretty sure she was just never coming back. Was tempted just to leave.
Looked around and they were not understaffed and not even that full (more than half, but not even remotely packed).
As we left, I heard a waiter apologizing to a table for getting their order wrong.
Either the place is staffed by idiots or they were filming a reality comedy show there and never told us.
I will never go back.
The food is mediocre.
There are literally hundreds of places around with better beer selection, food, or TVs for anything you would want.
I'm in bars all of the time, I go out nearly every night, and have never been this annoyed with every aspect of a place. Â
If this were in a small town with no competition, fine - but not in Boston.
**
UPDATE EDIT:
I didn't realize Yelp had a messaging system, and the manager of the bar sent me a very nice apologetic message and offered another try. Huge props to them for at least trying to fix it, but I'm not going back.
But worth noting that at least the manager is trying - if I were younger and just wanted to hang out for drinks, probably a fine place, but I act out my lush-ness elsewhere.
The Hill is great for meeting up with friends or watching sports. Â They have outdoor seats when its warm out, with a nice view of Cambridge Street. Â The people here are really friendly, including the servers and bartenders. Â Just a nice, casual ambiance.
Positives: the beer sampler. Â Pretty good selection and its cheap! Â The outdoor seats are a nice touch as well.
Negatives: the food isn't stellar, I'd say just average. Â Luckily, the prices are quite reasonable
Overall, the Hill Tavern serves its purpose as a casual meetup or place to catch a game.
I'm here in Boston for the 76ers game tonight! My dad and I got into town late last night and took a long walk because we weren't sure what we wanted to eat. We took a peak at the menu from outside and decided we couldn't go wrong here.
I had a cubano which is pulled pork cooked ham slice of pickle and some type of chipotle sauce. Looking at the sandwich  I wasn't impressed but upon eating it my taste buds were. This sandwich was full of flavor and came with your choice of fries sweet potatoe fries or a salad all for 7.95
My dad had a crab cake sandwich which I had to take a taste of of corse. Â This thing was nice and fluffy and tasted delicious on a fresh kaiser roll. Â You cant beat the price either, 10.95.
They had quite a beer selection too. Â That being said my dad was in a mood for a blue moon, they didn't have it but the friendly waitress recommended an Allagash which we both never had before. It was a delicious Belgium beer but it was a bit more than I like to pay for a beer at $6 a beer, but I didn't pay for it my pops picked up the tab last night!!
There are so many other places I want to try but just can't because I'm only here or two days but I had a great experience here and if I lived here I could definitely see myself coming here again.
After friends chose this place to meet for dinner & reading reviews, I was skeptical about The Hill. Fortunately things went smoother than many others on here.
Our server was quite attentive, taking the time to check on us regularly & recommend particular beers based on our preferences. Excellent start.
Like the beer sampler option! It's like tapas for alcohol, only you don't have to share with anyone. ;)
Regular fries tasted homemade; cut from scratch & hearty (i.e., not thin & processed). BLT & A (+ avocado) was a nice twist on the classic. Definitely great if you're a bacon lover, as they were quite generous with the strips inside the wrap. Everyone liked their food, & the beer list had variety.
Caveat: we got here at 7:30 for dinner & were seated right away. By the time we left at 10:30 it was packed, which may explain the decline in service other Yelpers have had?
Assessment: sweet pub overall that gets 4 stars for the beer list, good service & food.
Because we were too lazy and not dressed up enough to go around the corner.. we settled for the Hill Tavern. Â It was packed with individuals for a Wednesday night.. and had a tasty beer selection. Â I went with Goose Island.. delicious.
What I didn't like was their selection of food.. nothing to nibble on that was reasonably priced. Â We went with the home fries which was a mix of sweet potato and regular fries.. not that great..
Still because of the location, I can see myself coming here again. Â It beats the extravagant prices at Alibi... although that place does have a Frank Sinatra cover band...
I go here mainly for its location as opposed to the fare. Â Nevertheless a great place to bring friends to have a relaxed Boston bar outing. Â Portion sizes are huge (salad was twice as large as I had imagined), and decent beer/wine selection. Â
Downside: can get crowded and tables can be hard to come by during peak hours.
I really liked this place, even though the waitress brought me the wrong pizza that was covered with onions even though I told her three times I couldn't have onions on anything. Huge bummer.
BUT, everything else was yummy enough to give this place four stars. Also, the location is great and the atmosphere is chill.
This is a great neighborhood pub in Beacon Hill. Â It also attracts a crowd from MGH. Â The beer selection is decent, and the food is quite good. Â I highly recommend the Grilled Chicken Sandwich, which is by far one of the best in Boston. Â It can get a get crowded as it transitions to the late night scene. Â
My biggest complaint is the old dude who is a manager. Â He plays his lame music from his iPod often when he is on his shift, even when the entire bar is watching a big game. Â For example, during one of the Patriots playoff games against the Colts, he refused to put the game audio on claiming not everyone was there for the game. Â I was sitting at the bar when he told a customer this, and it was not said as nicely as I have phrased it. Â That night he must have told people at least a dozen times he wouldn't put the game audio on. Â He finally relented in the fourth quarter. Â I have seen him do this on numerous occasions.
After what seems like a zillion visits to the Hill Tavern, it is now time for an update.
My friends and I have been there many, many, many times and have spent, over the course of the last three NHL seasons, hundreds and hundreds of dollars on beer and food there. It is, after all, our go-to spot before Bruins games as we need to eat and would much rather eat there and at the TD Garden. Since we have season tickets and go to all of the games, the food at the TD Garden is just not good enough and overpriced.
So with all of the trips under our belt, you'd think that they'd eventually stop carding us every single trip and actually remember us there? Nope. We've been taken for granted, trip after trip. You might call me harsh but we've been there so many times that I feel like I'm being taken advantage of for the simple fact that they don't seem to remember our faces or our names. They don't care. Despite the fact that they've enjoyed generous tips for the last three years.
Oh and what's with their never changing menu? It's always the same food. And the same beers except for one rotating tap? This place could be great but it's not. It's average. The food, appetizers aside, is expensive considering the quality and quantity. It's just not worth it.
The consensus is that we're going to shift our business somewhere else, near the Garden. Not sure where but let's just say that we just don't want to be taken for granted. Hopefully a place where we'll be valued as repeat customers.
I almost walked past this place, taking it to be too high brow for my liking. Maybe the old man (who owned three other bars in Boston) and woman sitting beside me at the bar were dead ringers for class. Always look for wine drinkers at a bar.
However, this place was more a working man's pub than a pill-blitzed yuppy's bar. Hearing Arcade Fire play over the old man's gripes about city congestion made it an interesting juxtaposition.
The Hill Tavern burger was tasty, simple as that. In a night where I attended an award show and saw musical acts for free that I would have paid to watch, the sweet potato fries at Hill Tavern may still have been a highlight of my night.
With many options on tap, (I enjoyed the Harpoon IPA, but they surprisingly had Woodchuck Hard Cider as well), it's hard to pass up a drink because you're too conceited of a beer taster.
With it's large, double bar set-up and booths, this Improper Bostonian-praised tavern is a tight spot for top of the pops.
First off, I live around the corner from this particular pub and it's convience is what had brought me here. Â
I am a total pub girl... draft beers, apps, and the occasional burger. Â Beacon Hill pub has become my local 'watering hole' if you must. Â This pub had been the spot for me to go with a group of girlfriends for casual catch up, to a night with a significant other chatting and getting cozy in the dim setting. Â
Great staff, 4 or five flat screens for sporting events, and right on the main road with patio seating when in season. Â
Only minus, it's small and quite crammed.. but that is typical for any pub.
NOAH is a great 'tender :)
Like other people have mentioned, the service is definitely lacking! Â It took forever for me to get refills on my diet coke, which was quite annoying.
My friend had been craving calamari, and we were working at MGH so we popped in there for lunch and let's just say it wasn't good. Â It was rubbery and coated in some sort of corn batter, which just tasted odd. Â So I would avoid that if you go.
However, when my chicken sandwich came, I very much enjoyed it. Â The chicken was cooked well and the foccacia bread was yummy. Â
Probably won't be back because like the 2 star rating says, I've experienced better.  Better service, and  better food.
I went to The Hill Tavern for breakfast on June 27, 2009. I know the place doesn't specialize in breakfast; obviously, it's more of a bar. But if you're going to have breakfast, you deserve to be judged on that.
They had a four-egg omelette on the menu. I don't know if this was the smallest four-egg omelette in the world, or they made my buddy's omelette and mine from the same four eggs, but this thing was tiny. I ordered a cheddar cheese omelette, and I received eggs -- it appeared to be two -- flattened down in a circle with a piece of cheddar cheese on top of it. Uh, are you kidding me?
I can't really speak to the other stuff. The toast was good, so I'll make this a two-star rating. My diet coke was flat? I'm struggling to find anything good to say here.
I just can't reiterate enough to stay away from the breakfast food. They charged $1 extra for the $8 omelette if you wanted cheese. Funny, when an omelette really needs to have cheese to be an omelette. If you want tomatoes, peppers, onions, bacon, sausage -- whatever -- it's $1 extra for each. A western omelette is basically going to run you $12.
Go for the beer; not for the breakfast.
I was in Beacon Hill last night for a date (with a boyyyYYYyYyY) and decided to let him pick the destination...I just don't know the neighborhood that well. All I requested was nothing fancy but rather relaxed with some beer to celebrate Irish Christmas - St. Patrick's Day.
He chose The Hill.
The place was busy - every table but one was full and don't even bother looking at the bar. FULL. Despite some dirty napkins and moistness, we chose to snag the last dirty table before someone else swooped in. We're gay. We cut bitches.
The waitress was quick to rescue us and clean up the mess while dropping off the menus. There only appeared to be a couple of waitresses working and our girl had a major hop in her step. She's serious business. Dashing back and forth dropping off beers for queers - and even doing a dance for us (imitating her Sunday night in Faneuil Hall). Loved her.
I ordered the Buffalo Chicken wrap served with my choice of thick-cut sweet potato fries. It was a decent wrap - I wish they had taken it easy on the lettuce and put some more effort into the chicken - but hey - the bleu cheese crumbles and buffalo sauce were great. The sweet potato fries were amazeballz and I inhaled those things like it was my job.
Saving room for beer (and trying not to look fat) I "couldn't" finish my wrap. The waitress looked at me and said, "Are you seriously done? That's it?"
IF SHE ONLY KNEW.
The space is loud, pub like (obviously), and kinda crowded but who cares really? This ain't The Ritz. Beware if you sit facing the windows - a lot of cars pull out from the parking garage across the way and their headlights are blinding. Each time a car drove by I felt as if I looked like a cast member of CATS who was having a stroke. *EYES FLASH FROM LIGHT/FACE CRINGES*
We ordered dessert - and by that I mean 3 more rounds of UFO before calling it a night.
Great place for a casual date or an evening among friends. Cheers!
As far as restaurants go I cannot deprive this place of the fact that they have good quick meals for lunch goers...
BUT I need add the fact that their LUNCH TIME service staff sucks. Total lack of the following:
-Personality
-Time (HEY--umm you gave me the check 25 minutes ago, I handed it back to you 15 minutes ago...WTF?!)
-Consideration...Yo woman, I got a soft drink, I KNOW I get free refills on this sh*t (because I asked you for a reason...!), so why have you NOT:
        a.)offered me another
        or at least Â
        b.)just brought over another refill
As for after work, great for 1/2 off apps, and a brew or two!...Servers seem to be a bit more "Go-getter" than that of the Lunch time crew...
One of my more favorite Beacon Hill bars to also eat at.
Big fan of the dinner menu - ranges from salads (I avoid the lemon vinaigrette because that things makes you pucker worse than a fish), sandwiches, pastas, burgers and a bunch more. Â My favorites - the pasta bolognese, the avocado salad (just know that you should expect a huge heap of avocado - if you don't like avocado, don't order this!), the BLT-A sandwich, and the sweet potato fries (this can be a miss if they're too soggy or cold, so send them back if that's the case).
I avoid - the jambalaya (it tastes like someone dumped a bottle of buffalo sauce over some rice. Â last I knew jambalaya wasn't supposed to be buffalo rice) and the lemon vinaigrette (mentioned above for pucker purposes).
For a night out - drinks are reasonable, service is usually pretty friendly. Â Usually doesn't rock out too late (I've shut it down once and that was only because of a birthday and we were the only ones there). Â It's hopping during sports games, even though it doesn't have huge tvs, but it has a nice environment to cheer on the Red Sox, Celtics or any football game.
The only thing that really bothers me is that it's WAY too small when there's a big game going on. I have left because the only space for me to stand was either on someone shoulders or in the bathroom. Â But that's what makes it the Hill I guess.
Another neighborhood bar, and a fun one at that!
I went for my first time the other day to meet friends, I was pleasantly surprised! Â I decided to hoof it from the Park Street T stop in the blistering cold so anywhere sporting a heater was enjoyable to me! Â I dined on a glass of wine and a chicken sandwich-both hit the sport and were pleasing to my purse!
I hear lunches are big, and for a monday night I was impressed with the decent size crowd!
Typical happy hour bar, but not in a bad way. Â My coworkers and I joke that we always end up here on Thursdays, and well, it's mostly true. Â It is hit or miss with the crowd, but if you arrive around 5, the probability that you'll be able to score a table in the front area is high. Â They have beer, cider, mixed drinks, shots, cheap/good food, Â decent music, sometimes flakey but mostly on the ball waitstaff, and sports on flat screens.
As long as you're with cool people, it  is definitely possible to stay here from 3 PM to 1 AM on a weeknight,  this I know for a fact.
Great food for cheap. Best boneless buffalo wings around, not too breaded and just the right amount of sauce. Â The burgers are also amazing, with add-ons like bleu cheese, mushrooms, and crispy bacon. Â The fries are delicious, but are not consistent between visits; they can range from almost burnt to barely cooked. Â
The service varies depending on how busy the bar scene is. Â Waitresses sometimes disappear between the order and check, leaving you longing for another drink! Â Great atmosphere on game nights, but it can get a little rowdy.
Above all, make sure to save room for the molten brownie dessert.
