Having parked and ready to start our Red Sox adventure, we headed to Jerry Remy's to have a comfortable seat in some air conditioning and a solid meal prior to a long afternoon.

The place is huge, and looks pretty much like any other sport bar, with TVs hung over the bar and along the top of all the walls.  We were seated at a high top booth right in the center.  It made for good TV viewing in either direction, with tennis and golf and others showing on a Saturday at lunch.

I was surprised at the "upscale" nature of the menu.  It was some fancy grub for a sports bar, and with it came "fancy bar" pricing.  We started with the nachos, add chicken, which were good, but more like decent when you consider the $15 price tag.  I had the Remy Burger, which was huge and ok.

The service was the best part of the meal.  Our server was very friendly, did a great job of keeping up with our drink orders, and didn't even forget us when we kept putting off ordering real food.

While we were waiting for the checks, I took the toddler upstairs, where we played with the cornhole set (made with duct tape bags).  There was some bench seating on the side, and a convenient outlet for charging my phone... if only I'd found it earlier.

Got a Bison burger and a shock top beer. the garlic fries are not too bad here either. the chipotle sauce on the burger really made the burger. honestly couldn't tell it was bison. the prices could have been lower. went when there was a country concert at fenway. kinda felt out of place with all the dudes in cowboy hats and boots as an asian.

Atmosphere is pretty good. lots of sports memorabilia and lots of TVs all around, even 3 in the bathroom.
we ordered the mussels, and they were decently sized and ok, but not great. sauce was a little thicker than what we're used to.

for entrees, we got the maple glazed fried chicken and the southie burger. the chicken was actually pretty good--crispy and the sauce was just right. it came with some veggies, which i thought was a very wilted small salad, but  after looking at the menu again, it was "bacon braised greens".
the burger was a good deal, since it was $5 on a wednesday. while the toppings went well together, the meat patty was really bad. it was also dripping really bad when i picked it up.

    service was ok

Bar is great. Big. Outdoor seating with a great selection of beers. We  went here on a Saturday night  while the red sox where playing  an away  game we had to ... ask them to put the  game   on one of their 12 TVs ... whaaaaaaa?  Like seriously?  What? Take CNN off and put the sox on at a sox bar! ! Embarrassing.

We went to the roof deck on Saturday after not getting into the afternoon Sox game. I was shocked to be immediately seated, although the sun was shining directly into my eyes.

We were all pretty bummed at the appetizer choices - no typical bar fare, other than wings. We settled on the chips & guacamole, but were told they were out of guacamole. Um, what?? My friend got an avocado on her gazpacho! Mash that up with the SUPER SPICY homemade salsa and voila. Or run down the street to the new Barrio Cantina and get some from them (or buy some at Star!).

Anyway. The chips were good, the salsa was tasty but, as I previously mentioned, VERY spicy. My friend said the gazpacho was good.

The misty fans basically did nothing as the wind took the mist away and I kept thinking the awnings were going to blow away and take me with them.

Overall, the roof deck is an awesome idea and I can see why people love it for a drink on a nice day/evening. They just need to work on the appetizers!

For a decent sports atmosphere, Remy's is a good place to go. Appetizers are good. Burgers are decent. I want their big screen TV's in my house.

    Beer selection is good too.

I'm really torn on how I feel about the JR in Fenway. On one hand, it's huge, they have a large selection of TVs, a great roof deck, and tons of seating. On the other hand, when I'm out watching a Bruins game, I want good nachos and good bar food, which JR's does not provide. I was a fungry fungry hippo when I headed into JR's and had been thinking about their chicken nachos I had seen on the menu all day. Once I saw them coming I was immediately excited, thinking they were the best thing I'd ever seen. Oh how they deceived me!! I don't know what about them it was, maybe everything, but these nachos really, really sucked.

The wings that my friend got were decent, but the second order we got were extremely subpar. However, our waiter was reasonably quick for such a busy night and genuinely was a nice guy. I think his name was Al? Anyways, he was great. The food? Not so much. I may go back and give them a second chance just because the interior of the bar was great and the TVs were perfect for watching whatever game is on. And maybe I'll spend some time on the roof deck next time.

was there for game three when the storm hit......great layout and good looking servers with good bar food.   Sat in corner and watched that crazy storm and thought it was a good place to watch any game.

Came here recently to watch a Bruins game with my friends.

I'll start with the positives and say that both the inside and roof deck are really nice. Although it was a beautiful day for a roofdeck, we ended up staying inside due to large crowds (understandable, it was a both a Red Sox game and the Stanley Cup finals). The furniture is nice and new, they've got great sized booths, and their TVs are plentiful and are great quality. The bar looked huge and inviting as well.

Sadly, here comes the negative. The food is meh. My friend ordered nachos, and while the presentation was awesome, they were pretty sub-par. We were a large party, so given the variety of items we ordered, everyone felt the food was nothing above average (and in some cases below). The drinks were also pretty expensive, so once the bill came, no one felt like they got the bang for their buck. At least our waiter was friendly!

In town for a Sox/Phillies game, and visiting friends first drink and late lunch...very disappointed. Sat at the bar of a pretty empty place at 3pm. The 2 bartenders on duty reluctantly pulled themselves away from their apparently super important conversation to actually take our order. We finally got menus and drinks and later we received both but it was a considerable time. The kitchen was on it, but the front of the house leaves something to be desired. The attentiveness (for a pretty empty bar area) was terrible. The food was good, the beer was good, the service was bad at best. The bartenders on duty from 2-4pm on a Tuesday were BAD. They were concerned with themselves and their phones. Won't go here again when I visit Beantown, which I do often.

I'm going to make this review based on the nachos and the beer. Since I didn't go in expecting greatness out of their brownie sundae or crabcakes (and definitely got less than greatness in those), I'll ignore those.
When I saw a voucher available for up to $35 worth of food for only $15 on Groupon, I jumped on it. This was a perfect way to get myself a beer and Nachos and get a good taste of a Fenway Sports Bar during game season for less than half price. My friend and I got the  Seasonal Kona Island Aloha beer, the nachos, the crabcakes, and the brownie sundae.
Although these Nachos were a bit pricey for the size, the quality of the ingredients did not disappoint. Cheese had a nice sharp cheddar and jack blend, guacamole was fresh, pulled pork packed a subtle yet excellent touch to the plate. Chips were on the thicker side (I prefer the thinner ones) and probably weren't home made, but they were nice, salty, and crisp, layered perfectly with the chips. Thanks to my friend's tiny little stomach, I ended up eating a good 75% of the plate, further contributing to my seemingly  unstoppable weight gain.
Crabcakes were sub-par and the brownie sundae (more like cake than brownie and not something I'd order again), but like I said, we weren't expecting much from those anyways. Service was quite good for a sports bar and our server was attentive enough to give us what we needed and when we needed. All in all, nothing stellar, but good enough nachos to consider returning to in the future (particularly for their happy hour on Friday betwen 3-7pm for $3 nachos at the bar).

I have been here about three times and its always been fine nothing great, nothing bad. I was there this past Sunday before a Red Sox game figuring it would be perfect since they would be hustling to get people in and out on the roof deck.
Waited 30 minutes - fine its a game day. Once we were seated we waited 15 minutes for a server, looked over the menu and realized it was different... in fact it was gross. When i go to a sports bar and grill i don't want to eat a fancy meal there was not even a plain hamburger on this menu. After the slowest service ever and an error in our meal i can say unless they change their menu back to what a sports bar should be i will not be going back!

Never been here before but I recently Went to apply for a job. I wasn't thinking and got there at about 2 pm and there was a 4 pm game -my bad. When asking the manager if they were hiring he looked up from his iPhone gave me a dirty look and proceeded to condescend to me. Wouldn't want to work for a jerk like that anyway but folks its also probably an indicator of the type of service you'll get: rude boss = unhappy employees.

Habanero mango chicken wings were nice size with a decent kick. Not quite crispy enough but not bad.

The reuben was missing russian dressing, ie not really a reuben. Decent swirled pumpernickle rye bread. Very, very salty pastrami.

Added coleslaw to make up for lack of russian.

Nice hopmonstah ipa from Wachusett Brewing. Large pour for ten bucks.

    Friendly but unattentive service.

If you're looking to watch sports, you could do worse than Jerry Remy's. This bar has a ridiculous number of televisions, including two gigantic behemoths positioned directly above the large bar. They are almost definitely playing whatever game you'd like to see. Unfortunately, as we recently learned, they may not be airing the sound from the game you'd like to see. During the first ten minutes of the NCAA basketball finals, we were treated to the audio of a blow-out regular season Bruins game.

Food is decent pub grub, nothing amazing but certainly not bad. I most recently had a turkey burger with grilled veggies that could have used a little more moisture but was tasty enough. I probably should have gotten the gigantic nachos, which look great, but I was trying to show some restraint.

The draft beer options are pretty good here, with a particular focus on local brews from Harpoon, Boston Beer Company, and Ipswich Brewing. You can choose either a tall 23-ounce glass or a shorter 16-ounce pint. When one beer was delivered tasting off, possibly from a dirty tap, our server quickly and cheerfully replaced it.

I've heard good things about the roof deck here, and will certainly try it out at some point. In the meantime, Remy's remains on my short list of places to watch a game.

Although this is a great place to drink and catch a game, it's mediocre at best for food. The food descriptions don't match what you get: there's often missing ingredients or the description is misleading. I've eaten here about 3 or 4 times ( the later times with hesitation), and every time I feel gross or having stomach issues afterwords.
This place is comprable to a Hard Rock or Planet Hollywood: good atmosphere, terrible food.

In terms of TV sports viewing experience, Jerry Remy's is second to none in Boston. They have 60 flat screens throughout the establishment, with two particularly gigantic screens - the TVs are superior to what you'll get at other nearby sports bars like Game On. If you're looking to host a viewing party for a particular team, you may prefer a less expansive environment, but if you want to watch multiple games at the same time (like during March Madness or if you want to watch a bunch of games on a college football Saturday), Jerry Remy's is perfect. Nurse a beer for a few hours and take in all the games you want. And during baseball season, the rooftop deck is a great place to hang out too - you can hear the sounds of the games at Fenway.

Jerry Remy's food has really improved a lot recently also. The nachos are among the best I've had on Boston - layered with melted cheese, cheese, salsa, guacamole. The wings are also very good here, plump and juicy with a little bit of crispiness on the outside. Other dishes that stood out to me are the mac and cheese and the clam chowder.

Went here with the family recently and we had a good time.  The place wasn't too crowded (it was dinner during the week in the off-season).   Service was fast and friendly and I have to admit I do like Jerry's rendition of a burger,  "The Remy".  The portuguese sweet bun and the applewood bacon are very tasty.   The fries were good and I can't say anyone didn't enjoy it.   Great sports coverage obviously and as a bonus some CNBC and CNN were running to keep up with the news as well.

I've read some reviews here and they all seem bad but I really have nothing but good things to say about this place!

I came here last year with a few friends and we got some beers.  I have a MA license but my friend has an out of state license that was accepted as ID with no problems.  Service was fine, but we didnt order anything except 1 round of beers.

I came here again last week for brunch using a groupon.  The great thing about brunch is that they have a brunch menu but you can also order from their extensive dinner menu.  I had lobster eggs benedict.  The lobster was not fresh but the egg was poached perfectly, english muffin was toasted and hollandaise sauce was on point.  There was also some fried mashed potato thing which I did not like but my boyfriend said it was good.  It was basically a ball of mashed potatoes with a deep fried exterior.  Not bad but too heavy for breakfast.

My boyfriend orders the chicken and waffles.  It came with four waffle wedges and a piece of fried chicken breast.  The sauce on the chicken was super tasty and the waffles tasted like the maple syrup was baked right in.  My only complaint was that the chicken was a bit dry but that's only because it's white-meat.

The server was amazing!  We were seated right away and the server came by several times to check up on us.  Granted, it was a slow Sunday morning but he was very polite and got us our drink refills promptly.

The restaurant itself is huge and I appreciate the giant tables as they do serve large portions.  There is a bar area and a sit down restaurant area.  They have tons of large screen TVs everywhere playing every sport you could want.

We also used a groupon and had no problems there.  The prices without the groupon are very reasonable, especially for the amount of food you get.  I was stuffed!  Will definitely be going back!!

I've gone here a few times. Although the first one or two times, we didn't get the best service, that has been completely turned around. On my most recent visit, the restaurant was a little quiet, but our server was very attentive. He offered great suggestions that we took that turned us onto new foods and drinks that we otherwise wouldn't have ordered. Food and drinks were great, and we loved the service. Everything was quick and painless.

Icing on the cake - we filled out customer comment cards to talk about how great the service was. The manager mailed us hand-written coupons for our next visit there to thank us for the comments we gave. I've really only seen restaurants send out gift cards when they drop the ball, it was a refreshing change of pace to see them send out the coupons because they knew how happy we were with the restaurant.

Will definitely be back soon. It's a great place to watch some sports!

After trying Jerry Remy's again I felt the need to update this review because I do not believe my first review was encompanssing. I got dinner in the main room the other night to watch the NFL playoff games and had a much better experience.

First and most importantly was that the nachos were much improved from my first experience. I was also surprised by the dinner menu. I got the harvest salad to start and the chicken with the cranberry reduction and mushroom rissoto. I'm surprised that a sports bar would even offer these options, let alone that they would be tasty.

The service was a bit slow, but that is understandable since there was a big crowd for the game. Definitely glad I tried Jerry Remy's again.

This is a great place to go to watch a football game. TVs are huge and in abundance. Even when it was PACKED for the Michigan vs Notre Dame game, we still got incredibly fast service.

The food was typical bar food and the beer selection wasn't anything to sing about. This is a solid bar to visit in the expensive Fenway area, but nothing that sets it apart from the numerous bars in its surrounding area.

Jerry Remy's does really well (I'm assuming) because of it's proximity to Fenway. The place gets slammed after Sox games, and I experienced this last time my group came. We left the game before it finished, and got a table right away with other tables empty around us, but the food took an inordinate amount of time to arrive. I will give them credit for acknowledging how long it took, and discounting our bill, however.

The food was okay, portions not very big for the prices. Do not go to Remy's for food, like most other reviewers are saying, come for the beer and roof deck, you can't really go wrong there.

Go for the view and ambiance but eat someplace else.  Lots of TVs, great location, the roof deck is suppose to be great but the food is terrible.

I actually wonder if I should even talk about the food because it is so bad.  I have decided no.  Go for a beer and a view and to meet friends.  Eat someplace else or at the ballpark.

Been here bunch of times. The place is good, really good for watching sports with friends. If you are looking for great food this is NOT the place. The service is good but  slow.
I had some fun time watching foot ball games here. Even on busy nights, parking at the Howard Johnson (there is no flyer, you have to go inside and ask) for 10$ is pretty convenient on cold winter nights.

Go for the roof deck and the beer and for the most part avoid the food. If you are going to a Sox game it is hard to beat this roof deck in terms of convenience and ambiance. The beer selection is vast and well priced for the area. I have had decent experience with the burgers and the hot dogs but I would avoid the nachos at all costs. Boston has some of the best nacho spots and Jerry Remys is definitely not one of them.

Overall good vibe, decent value, just nothing special.

Good beer selection.  Good, decent pub food.
Big TV's.  I like to go there before a game.  Service is pretty good considering how mobbed they are before the game, but even if you are late, you can watch the game on the HUGE TV.

I went to Jerry Remy's today (Saturday afternoon, Sox out of town).  The place was very quiet so we were able to get seats at the bar immediately.

I originally started my review off with a two-star rating, but in reflecting upon the friendly waitstaff and the very cold and fresh beer, I had to jump up to a 3 star.  I wish I could go higher, but I'm not quite willing to commit to declaring myself a "fan" of Jerry Remy's.

As I said, the wait-staff were extremely friendly.  They were attentive without being obnoxious.  The food was brought to us directly by the kitchen staff.   The young man who brought out our appetizer and the young woman who brought our main lunch entrees were both very friendly, pleasant, and asked right away if there was anything else we needed.

The bartenders were  knowledgeable about the broad beer selection and they let us try three or four of the draught beers.  The beers we ordered were cold and fresh and so no complaints there.

We got a Fenway park pretzel appetizer.  We started off by eating the outer edges of the pretzel.  When we got to the breadier center of the thing, we realized it was still frozen.  Yuck.  We told the bartender and we explained that we had eaten the majority of it so there was no need to take it off our bill.  To be honest, though, I was kind f surprised that they still charged us for it when the bill arrived.  But that's OK.  I know, I know, I should have asked her to take it off the bill.  That's purely my own fault.

I ordered an arugula and fennel salad.  It was a very light dish (in terms of quantity of food) but the ingredients were fresh.  I ordered it with chicken, and in fairness to the restaurant, the bartender told me the chicken would be roasted and pulled as opposed to a grilled breast.  I expected that, but I was ultimately disappointed by the chicken.  It was rather flavorless and cold as opposed to chilled.  The salad dressing was some bottled balsamic commercial crap.

I wouldn't hesitate to go in here for a beer again, but I think I would hold off on the food.

Have been here twice since the 2012 Red Sox season started. We are about 10 games into the season and wanted to share both experiences because they were awful and I don't intend on returning. It's a shame since when this place first opened it was awesome. Anyway, on the first trip I went up on the roof deck...which was great. The view was great - reason for two stars. The food and service, however, we're AWFUL. The server barely paid attention to us. It is clear that they have a different "kitchen" upstairs because their menu is a toned-down version of the one downstairs. I had the nachos-plain- thrown together in 2 minutes with cheese sauce, and the rare roast beef sandwich - also thrown together in 2 minutes-cold-expected it to be hot. All over priced and expected more from all my other trips.

Second time, was seated inside right along the open windows. The wind blew over their drink menu and spilled my fathers drink. The server came over and DIDN'T OFFER to refill them. The server didn't seem surprised, either, like it happens all the time. The food again was terrible. Got the pastrami that came out almost cold and the bread fell apart as I bit into it - obviously had been Frozen and thawed.

Recap: the food and service are horrible. They do have a great selection of drinks and beers on tap with a ton of TVs. I can see myself having a different experience if I go in with low expectations and only to drink.

Service was a bit sporadic at times.  Took 25 minutes to get a beer.  Also, they never told us we need to be sitting at the bar to get the $5 burger special.  This pissed me off since I felt like it was a bait and switch.  WHO CARES where we sit.  We were right next to the bar.

An extra 4 feet = full priced burgers?  Bad business practice.

I will start this with: I've never been here during the season. So I cannot attest to the crowd/service then.

During the winter it's comfortably empty (not awkwardly empty), the wait staff has always been attentive and nice, and the food is good.  Well, the food is bar food, it's not bad and its not delicious. There are so many tvs, whatever you want to watch they will be able to put it on for you.

They have great beer tasting events during the off season that I highly recommend!

Overall, it's a good place to go after work to hangout with friends, get dinner and watch some sports (COLLEGE BASKETBALL).

We went on a Monday nite and it was quiet. We sat at the high top tables close to the bar (self seating for high top tables). Great place to watch sports with all the giant TVs around.

We got a burger/fries and the lamb shank. My friend said the lamb was good and it was tender as I tried a bite also. My burger was good, a little greasy, but I like that. Fries were ok, nothing great. We also got the buffalo wings for app and it was decent. Host and server were good. Total cost including one soda was about $40.

Great for drinks and to watch a sports game. the tv's and  beer selection are amazing. Also  the actual seating area is far better than most bars in boston.

i've only eaten there once and it was terrible. I had their buffalo wings which were pretty tasteless and the skin fell off before I could bite into it, and one of their burgers, which seemed to be made on old bread because the bread fell apart and crumbled when i was trying to eat it. the fries were usual (usual frozen junk). Also the waitress was very inattentive especially for a quiet sunday night. She only came once to check on us towards the end when we asked for the check.

I'll definitely be back for some drinks during a game but refuse to ever buy their food again.

Went back to watch the game with friends.
The food was just slightly above terrible, it's just typical bar food but everything tastes like it's been deep fried in the same oil. Everything. I had two bites of a slider, one bite of a fried pickle, one bite of a too salty wing and a cobb salad and ended up getting sick when I got home. Oh, do not try the bloody mary bar, their mix is gross (oddly garlicky- will leave you with terrible breath) and their "blue cheese" stuffed olives were not stuffed with blue cheese, I have no idea what they put in there - toe jam, maybe? Gross gross gross.
However, the service has improved since our last visit. Our waitress was extremely attentive.

I've been there a few times - the first time I waited for my check for 10 mins - I was the only customer there at the time too.

the second, I was stuck talking to a bigoted bartender who complained about gays, liberals, Obama's aunt, how he works 4 jobs & still can't afford health insurance...
