I have been to Magoun's on every night of the week, with different people, for different occasions. It is obviously a community watering hole with Trivia night, regular customers, and sport leagues coming in after games. Â
The food is great (the wings and the mac and cheese especially).
The rotating beer list is a great way to try new beers from a knowledgeable wait staff.
Besides some cold running water in the bathroom, it is all around a great bar.
This place is right down the street from me and is about as good of a neighborhood bar as you could ask for. They have an amazing beer selection and interesting and menu (by pub fare standards) and have different specials and things going on all the time. It's kind of small, but a great place to catch some sports and good food/beer if you're in the area. I plan to keep going back to keep trying more of the food, but I've have several of their tapas (Wednesday nights I think), Mac & Cheese Triangles (woof, these are good) and the pork belly sandwich with cajun pasta salad and it was all delicious. Service is pretty much on par for what you'd expect by going to a pub, so I don't know why people on here are complaining so much. It's not a 5-star restaurant after all. Go, try it, you'll have a good time.
