Christopher's

I ordered my TOAD burger medium, but it was well done. Which is why this place gets the 4 stars. They have lots of brews on tap and I absolutely loved the home made fries. They were delicious! My friends got the veggie burger and they said it's just beans, no tofu. Which sounded great! I cannot rave enough about the fries.

I mostly drink here and I love the ambience. The bar is a little divy and much less crowded that the Tavern just across. Come in at 11 with a group of friends, and you're always guaranteed a table by the fireplace. Then, start plotting the revolution.

I really want to love Christopher's. Truly, I do. The thing is, each time I've been there, I've just had a mediocre time.

The food is alright, the cocktails aren't worth it, and I can find just as good a beer selection in Davis, so there's not much point in me skipping over to Porter to grab a beer here.

What I do like about this place is atmosphere. It's definitely the sort of place that is easy to hang out with. Not so refined that you can't wear casual clothing, but not divey either. It's certainly a nice place to go with some friends and just hang out after a particularly long week (or during the week - I don't judge).

Basically what I'm saying is: if somebody wanted to go here, I'd be cool with it. At the same time, I probably won't be the one to suggest it unless it's a matter of convenience.
