Cozy and authentic pub food.  The wait staff is friendly and the food is outstanding.

I have to admit I've only been to the Pub on Monday nights, but I've been there dozens of times on Mondays for trivia and half price fish and chips.  The wait staff is outstanding and very friendly, and the menu has a great variety.  I never get tired of the place!

The service is great considering the size of the place and so many customers. The beer list is extensive. It's definitely fun place to hang around with some friends. I think it's a better place for a group than just a couple or three. However, it tends to become too loud on weekends and crowded. So you have to pick a right mood for you. I did not have any problem on the foods but they are not too impressive, either. The bottom line is this place is for a group of people looking for having a fun time.

Great authentic English / Irish menu... the Pot Roast is out-freakin'-standing! Also an excellent Draught Beer selection.

I've been to the Pub a half dozen times. The food and service are consistently good, the patio seating is great in both warm and cool weather. My only complaint is a minor one: no Yuengling in either draft or bottle form! Sometimes I don't want a fancy bourbon beer or an expensive import and just want a few glasses of my Vitamin Y!

Outstanding draft selection, friendly service. My wife and I had our rehearsal dinner here and it was a huge hit with all involved. I highly recommend the fish and chips, the pub pretzel sandwich or the burger. If the white chicken chili is available, get a cup, you won't be sorry!

Great service but very ordinary food. Had the pecan salad, bangs and wings.

My boyfriend and I went for dinner .  I had the Belhaven Beer cheese burger and it was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time.

The beer cheese is really good.

This place has tons of awesome beer options.  A little pricey for burgers and beers but overall, super delicious. I'd go back again!

Still love this place. Came for the Jubilee party last weekend, staff os alwasy so nice & friendly.

Scotch egg was crispy & perfect except they served it on a mustard sauce which was not my fave. I prefer some brown sauce on my egg. We also had the cheese Bolloacks which were frankly giant fried cheese larger than normal golf balls. The name is quite witty & really who doesn't love hot cheesy goodness?

This is our go to for anything Brit related, the 6AM Royal wedding, Jubilee, anytime we want to celebrate all things British (besides my husband, of course).

It's alright. One of those places where I wouldn't pick it on my own but would go along with if someone else did. I met up with a group for a training meeting here and had never been before, so I spent awhile wandering around the restaurant trying to get my bearings. Kind of weird that when you first walk in there's no hostess stand and you pretty much come into the middle of a bunch of tables.

After locating my party in the back patio area, a server promptly came over to take my drink order. She did a good job being attentive as more people joined the table.

In the patio room there was another large group meeting at the table next to us, as well as a couple having dinner and a group of about 5 having happy hour, emphasis on happy. Their laughter and REALLY loud talking was amplified by the room and it made it impossible to hear the person at the head of our table trying to talk (and I was seated in the middle). Not the Pub's fault that the loudies ignored our dirty looks, just wanted to point out for groups that are considering reserving the patio area for their meeting, that it might not be the quietest spot.

Like I said, I'd go back if I was meeting up with someone but wouldn't go out of the way myself.

The American version of a British-centric bar. If thats your thing, go grab a pint.

The inside of The Pub is lush with dark woods, carpets, and hefty, decorative chairs.

I split  fried pickles with a friend and a beer. I came to $10 bucks plus tip. Which was a bit steep but this place is steeped in ambiance. The pickles had a hefty fried crust and were a tasty treat with mah beer.

The service was pretty good, no complaints here. We were checked on several times while my gals and I chatted.

Overall, its wasn't a bad place to grab a beer and have a chat.

not a huge fan opf faux-british/irish pubs and this one is in rookwood commons.  not that i am a snob, but the parking lot stinks, the atmosphere is stuffy and mildly pretentious and the food is sub-par.

    ouch!

not to be harsh - this is a fine place to meet a buddy or colleague for a pop or two, but then your best bet is to scoot and do dinner somewhere else.

the pseudo-schoolgirl-kilt-uniforms for girls is bizarre too.  and why do the dudes wear kilts?  is this a scottish place?  i thought it was british!  AH!

anyway, i am sure i will be back for a meetup or two, but this spot won't be a destination of mine on purpose anytime soon.

As an expat Brit living amongst the American lumpenproletariat I am always keen to try out places that describe themselves as an English pub. The giveaway that this was indeed such a place was the name - you can't get more direct than "The Pub". (It has to be said though that if an establishment were to use that name over there it would be laughed off the British High Street in a heartbeat)

This place does a pretty good job of emulating the general 'pub' vibe to which I am accustomed, even if service at the table is not something 'we' do.

The food I have tried here is better than many other places trying to cop a British feel. Their fish & chips (a Brit staple, if not ordinarily found on pub menus the other side of the pond) is most definitely a tasty treat; crisp batter and (what appears to be hand cut) thick fries combine to create the perfect mix. Go on a Monday night and the dish is half-price, plus you can take part in their weekly pub quiz and discover just how many brain cells their fine selection of beers and spirits can steal from you.

I wish to recommend their 'bourbon taster'. You get generous pours of three small -batch Kentucky bourbons, all of which arrive mounted on a specially- designed 'bourbon tree' together with a tumbler of ice, a small jug of water and a mixing tumbler. Class in a glass for a mere $10, it's gotta be amongst their better value offerings.

A special shout-out should be sent to their always-friendly and rarely-flustered servers. I've been in a group of 12 or more people, requiring anything up to 9 separate checks and they have NEVER got a thing wrong. Kudos to whoever picks and trains the staff!

I will warn you that mileage does vary. Whilst I have no qualms in bigging up The Pub's Rookwood location, their branch out at Crestview Hills is like the evil stepsister no-one wants to admit exists. Our experiences there have been awful - on one occasion BEYOND awful. Indifferent staff, substandard food, weak watery beers and a MUCH different and unfriendly vibe. Stick with Rookwood - it's far superior.

If you're going because you want to pretend you in London well get out your dumbest British accent and a monocle because this is close appearance wise also price wise.  They do have a large selection of drinks at downtown London prices.  The food is so-so but don't worry that is top dollar as well, mate. I did really like the crab-stuffed mushrooms. The servers were friendly and timely even though a large party was taking up a lot of there time. The patio was nice and would be an ok spot to watch a Reds games or fútbol match. It would not be my choice of a place to go but I would return if forced by friends or me Mum.

I am a fan of the pub.   I was a regular of the Pub location in Columbus.    I recently went to this location for an Old Speckle Hen and some Strongbow.

The pub provides the classic public house atmosphere with the good pub food (a fan of their fish and chips) and the rumbling of good conversation echoing throughout the bar.

The beers will run $3-9 depending on what you get.    If you like this chain - I recommend you start a passport.   This will introduce you to their variety of beers and upon completion, your beers will be $4 for life.

It is always a great time to be with friends and by going here you have just added good beer.

This English pub in the middle of the rookwood stripmall offers your typical English bar scene with a good beer selection, typical bar food with an English slant (do you want your chips or crisps?), several flat screens, and English inspired outfits for the servers.  The inside is pretty large but can get very crowded during quiz night, soccer games, and other events.  There is a nice large patio that is used for all but the worst weather and they offer $1 off beers during happy hour, which is a pretty good deal, as their prices are reasonable.  The scene is usually pretty eclectic, except for quiiz nights which is jam packed with young professionals and grad students.

I've only been here once, so it doesn't seem fair to review, but I must say I am a fan of the beer selection. We had a few appetizers. Nothing I'd write home about. It seems like a great after-work gathering place. I'm not sure I'd eat dinner here, but for drinks with friends it makes the grade. Some day when it's not 100 degrees outside I'd like to try sitting outside. Perhaps in the fall. If I do, I'll provide a little update. :)

I've frequented The Pub every Monday for a few months now. At 7:30, they have Trivia Night - always free, and there are great prizes for the restaurant. They also do a raffle which auctions off a free app, dessert, gift certificates, and beer memorabilia.

On Monday's during the quiz night, they have half price Fish and Chips. This meal is decent - but for the half price bill, it's probably the best bang for the buck in the city (for fish).

I've sampled almost all of the appetizers, which is what myself and the group of friends I visit get when we're there. For the most part, they are extremely delicious. There are a few hit and misses, but I think this depends on your ultimate taste for things.

As far as their meals go, I've only had a few, but I'm not a particular fan of their burgers. For the price, if I'm feeling like a burger, I'll walk to the 5 Guys in a nearby plaza. They're nothing special.

Their desserts are heavenly though. Their ice cream is rich and such desserts like the whiskey bread pudding will disappear right before your eyes.

Their beer selection is one of the better ones in Cincinnati and their liquor bar is full. Half priced beer during their happy hours in the afternoon, which is always a good deal. Their liquor is a bit on the pricey side. A shot of low end tequila was in the 5-6 dollar range.

It does get noisy when it's a little busy. The waitstaff is extremely nice, but if they're busy, it takes a long time for them to get around. On the other hand, if it's a slow night, they're usually quick.

My one biggest complaint is the general price. In some areas, it seems like a great deal. On the other hand, some meals are horrifically overpriced compared to the quality of food you get.

But for the most part, The Pub has earned my loyalty. Whether you're looking to relax with some friends over a few beers or just grab a bite to eat, it's a solid restaurant overall.

You can find me at the Pub on Monday nights for trivia night! The host is fantastic and you can always bet you'll hear interesting team names. I suggest getting there early to grab a table, especially if you have a large group, because it fills up quickly.

I'm a fan of their fish and chips, but they also have some great half-price apps during happy hour. They also have a great selection of beer, which is sorted by country on the menu!

I also recommend checking out the covered patio on a nice summer evening!

I live by here but I never noticed this place until today. It has a true pub feel. We sat in the covered outdoor area, which was nice and would be even better on a nice summer night when it would be breezy. We sat down and initially the service was non-existent but afterwards our server was extremely attentive.

We went for fish and chips and I will say I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The portion was pretty solid and you could really taste the flavor of the fish. Chips were chips (pretty much fat fries if you've never had pub food). I would have liked some peas with the fish and chips, which I always thought was a staple.

Overall, I feel this is more of a mature crowd, not as much of the younger crowd. But as a place to relax, watch a game and eat some pub food this isn't too bad at all.

Because I live close to The Pub, I visit quite often.  I wouldn't say that it's my favorite place to eat, but it's never bad either.  Their beer selection is fantastic!  I do wish though that they had more seasonal beers, but it's a small complaint.  There are so many beers there that there is always something new to try.

We often attend trivia on Monday nights and it's a blast!  The host is very funny and it's hilarious when she announces all of the inappropriate team names.  The servers are friendly and attentive, especially our most recent waiter (Fabio, I think).  The Pub is a good option for drinks with friends or dinner.  Make sure to check out their patio!

Great beer selection, and standard pub food, but done very well. It's a bit on the expensive side, like others have mentioned, unless you hit up a happy hour.

We had a very large group there, and they did a great job accommodating us as we bombarded them around 11pm on a Friday night.

They get a solid 3 from me, but an extra star for the Dyson hand dryers in their very clean bathrooms. (Also, we enjoyed much better service here than I experienced at Nicholsons.)

A group of us meet here every 2nd Saturday to talk New Media Cincinnati.  The patio is a perfect meeting area for about 60 people.  Since it's winter, they close the outer doors.  So you have the section all to your group.  There are plenty of seats, tables, and space to put projector screens too.  It would be nice to have a few more outlets since so many bring their laptops and video/audio equipment.

The servers do an excellent job noticing every new person, getting their order and keeping up with them all night - no matter how many places that person moves around to.  Kudo's to them on that - I know I couldn't.

My fiancee tried the Roast Beef (check out the photo).  It looked so awesome I had to try it too.  Wow, melt in your mouth gooood.  I guess I just didn't expect it to be that good.  He's lucky I didn't eat more.

Since I wanted to try something new, I looked at previous Yelp reviews to see if anyone highly encouraged anything to try.  The Fried Pickles were recommended and I have never had fried pickles.  MMmmmm good.  They probably would go good with a cheeseburger too.  You get your money's worth - I was full before I finished the nice size portion.  So be ready to share with your friends.

We also shared the always delicious, done well, you can tell what the ingredients are, Spinach Artichoke dip.  ALWAYS good.

The parking is sometimes a challenge because it is a very popular area - but the weather is getting better - so its nice to walk a little.

The bathrooms are always clean and their Dyson hand dryer is great.

That's my 2 cents for today.

Been here a few times--once for drinks & dinner (and trivia!), once for late-night drinks, and once for cocktail hour. The spot is always hopping, which is nice if you like the post-5pm drinks crowd. As Jessalynn S. commented, the beer list is great (and divided by country!). I particularly like that they have options for assembling beer, wine, or whisky samplers at reasonable prices. The food is solid and the food menu is just as varied as the drinks one. While it's owned by the same folks who own Nicholson's downtown, the drinks menu is a smidge cheaper here.

The environment is that of a noisy, big bar/restaurant, faux British at its best. Short kilts on the waitresses, longer ones on the bartenders. It's busy for sure and definitely a good idea to get there early for a table. Overall, it's convenient and fun. I recommend it.

I've been many times and knew it was noisy, but I didn't expect the televisions to be so loud on a Sunday evening we would have a hard time hearing our server. I guess there weren't enough bodies to help absorb sound.

The food isn't that great but like the others have said it is a good place to gather with friends and get drinks because there's a great variety.

Ah, the Pub at Rookwood, another one of Cincinnati's faux-British establishment ... although this is probably the best of them all.

To begin with, they really try to match the feeling of being in a London pub. Some of this works, like the place being made of dark wood, the round tables placed everywhere and the nice selection of beer (really nice). And, of course, some of it is just tacky (there are like three British phone booths in this place. How many calls do you think British people make, pub?)

I wouldn't go here for a full meal because I just don't think the food is that great - I've never really been wowed with anything. However, this is a great spot to grab a drink with some friends. Their alcohol selection is awesome and goes on for pages, and their list of bar snacks is pretty darn good (again, not great, but nice to munch on while you're sipping a beer.) They also have nice things like trivia on Mondays, bands on the weekend and Bloody Mary Happy hour from 11 to 3 on Sundays, where you can choose what kind of things you'd like on your food skewer that goes with it (shrimp and cheese and pepperoni and so on! Mmm...) Damn good Bloody Mary too!

Be warned, on Friday and Saturday night, this place is LOUD! And crowded. Much better to go on either a weekend night or like a lazy Sunday afternoon.

So go and grab a pint with a chum and have your self a jolly good tome, gov'ner! ... I'm sorry for that.

You'll usually find me here on Monday's for the Pub's quiz night (Monday's at 7:30) with half price fish and chips.  If you're interested in quiz night just make sure you get there early to get a table because it fills up fast.

The food is standard pub-fare but they do have a better than normal beer selection for a traditional pub.  Completing the world tour is worthwhile too, after that every 20oz pint is only $4.  If you're a scotch fan you can also get a nice flight to try any 3 that you want.

It sounds mean to say that the Rookwood Pub is where I go when I can't think of anywhere else to go, but I mean that in a nice way. I promise.

I go for the good selection of beer on tap and the awesome bottle selection, the tasty pub fare (nothing to knock your socks off, but reliably good) and the curry chips.

If it's a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, don't bother ordering any food and just get a Bloody Mary. They have a customizable menu with up to 8 items on your skewer, and you get to pick them. You could request 8 cubes of pepper jack cheese, or 8 goat cheese-stuffed olives. You're in charge. Just don't order more than two shrimp.

The dining room can get a little loud at peak hours on Friday or Saturday night, but I have the best time hanging out on the patio with a couple of friends for a drink on a lazy afternoon.

Stick to pub-type foods and I don't think you'll be let down. It is somewhat overpriced, but as a place to fall back on when inspiration and other dining options fail, it's not a bad place to spend your dining out dollars.

If you've been to Britain or even a larger U.S. city, the Pub at Rookwood Mews, along with some of the other pubs operated by the Tavern Restaurant Group (e.g. Nicholson's), is likely to have a phony-baloney, Epcot feel.  (Why are the waiters wearing kilts when the restaurant seems otherwise to be trying to affect an English atmosphere?)  However, considering that the Rookwood branch is located in a mall and near such monuments of gastronomy as Bucca di Beppo and Max & Erma's, I suppose this is to be expected.

That said, the Pub is not a bad choice for a casual drink and meal.  Some of the Brit-influenced menu items--bangers & mash and Shepherd's Pie, for instance--are hearty and filling plates of food.  (I can't vouch for their authenticity, not having had that stuff in during a single, brief UK trip.)  The fish and chips, while not as good as what you'd get in Britain, are better than what you find on most bar menus around town.  (The kitchen actually attempts to emulate the crisp, crusty batter that you get in England, and it is actually good when you dive in, but as some others suggest here, the batter gets a bit soggy before you can finish your fish....)

Some of the non-Brit stuff, however, like the Cuban sandwich, is subpar.  (The wife says that the portobello sandwich was lame, too.)

Draft-beer list is really nice, with a good selection of British Isles-stuff.  Only after I'd ordered my Belhaven Scottish Ale this last time did we notice that the Pub is now offering a bunch of draft beers from Brew Dog, which is a large indie brewer in Scotland whose stuff is excellent.

Great place to come for extensive selection of draft beers and cask ale.  I am all about the Bloody Mary Bar on Saturday and Sunday from 11-3.

Fish and Chips are just ok - agree with the 'soggy' review.  Food and Appetizers seem expensive for what you get.

Food was ok, beer selection was good. The service could have been better. They have a nice patio. If you are looking for a real pub experience, I think not.

The server in her stupid outfit had no clue when I asked her what they had on the two hand drawn taps. She says "Whats a hand drawn tap?"

    Limited menu:(
    Bad Brown Sauce:(
    Soggy Fish and Chips:(
    Cheese ball uniforms:(

The crowd seemed to be upper middle class 35-50 in there polo''s driving there 5 series, v70, and slk 500 crowd. A few younger  hippsters there, but they seemed to be fish out of water.

I have only gone here for trivia night, but from what I can tell, it's a great all around bar. They have a killer selection of alcohol and a very respectable beer selection as well. The food is a couple steps above normal bar food and the price reflects this.

The female staff wear knee high socks and plaid mini skirts. The men wear kilts.

The trivia contest is very well managed and run. It is popular and the place gets packed, so you need to get there early if you want a seat. It clears out quickly when it's over though.

My mate from Cinncinati bragged about the best beer in the world. Whatever.

My beer connoisseur mate went with him to scout it out. They returned skunk drunk affirming the legend.

We made an immediate straight line here. Yes it's a British pub in Cincinnati with typical draft beers, but this place did make me a believer with it's  . . . . *drum roll*

    Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale.

Beer enhanced using bourbon barrels and becomes a nutty brown ale with all the jazzy bourbon tastes.

Then they recommended the Black Barrel. . it made me shiver like a beer only God could create and propagate.

    What was it?

Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale and Guinness

Stopped by on a Saturday night since we were in the area. Nice laid back place to have some drinks with friends. There was a real good acoustic cover band pumping out some Radiohead/Beatles/Coldplay jams which I thought were great.

Beer selection was good, Tried a few I hadn't had a chance to yet, which were very tasty. They had good appetizers too, didn't get a chance to try the actual food. Not too crowded, but a nice place to go.

We visited this pub without realizing it was affiliated with the pub at Crestview Town Center, a favorite of ours.

We found the same menu, beer list and hoped for similar service. It was an early Sunday afternoon when we visited, so it wasn't very crowded. I ordered a burger and my husband ordered his usual, the fish and chips.

We received our drink orders promptly, but after quite a wait we were informed that the burger was holding up our food order because the burgers were frozen. At that point, I probably would have chosen another option, but wasn't presented with that opportunity.

All in all, the experience was average, but nothing great.

With the red call box on the outside, you know this place is going to be authentic.  It's a "pub" that is actually a pub.  Then they have another one on the inside.  OK, that goes a little too far and shows that they're trying too hard.  Ironically, that's the same reason that the cask is currently out of commission; a bartender got overzealous pumping some ale.  However, the other options on tap are more than suitable for consumption.  In fact, I have to applaud them for having only suitable beers there - no Bud/Miller/Coors in sight.  As it should be.

Anyway, we were there to watch the Champions league final, which provided a fantastic excuse to toss back a couple of pints on a Wednesday afternoon, and the setting would have been perfect for a football match had there only been some hooligans or at least a small crowd even watching the telly.  Some more started to trickle in to take advantage of happy hour specials (dollar off beers, two dollars off appetizers), but they were unmistakably American.

Don't fault the Pub; it tried.  And you should give it a try if you want classic British ales on tap and properly draughted.

I don't really know why, but for some reason I expected this place to be more of a nice restaurant than a nice bar.  My idea was immediately changed when we walked in the door on a Wednesday evening at 9pm.  First of all, no hostess here.  We walked in and saw that menus were already sitting on every table.  We could have chosen to eat in either one of The Pub's high-backed and plush looking booths, at one of the many stools surrounding the enormous mahogany bar or at one of the tall bar tables, but instead, we walked onto the covered patio.  The night was warm but drizzly so the overhang kept us dry while allowing us to enjoy the weather.

It took a few minutes to get service; but once a server realized we were there we had no service issues:  it seems as if the wait staff at The Pub works together, one server took our drink orders, another brought them, one server took our meal order, another one brought them, etc. this didn't bother us, though, as they were on top of refills and checking on our table.  I had an ice-cold draft Strongbow, my favorite hard Cider (if you haven't tried it yet, do, it's crisp and refreshing).  My guy sampled a Boddington's in a 10oz size but didn't like it so he ordered a 20oz Newcastle instead.  There are dozens of draft beer choices and even more in bottles; as well as a decent wine selection and a full bar for mixed drinks.

Fish and Chips were delightful, greasy and lightly crispy.  The fries that came served were thick cut and soft and yummy topped with the malt vinegar from the table.  My guy's Pub Stacker was a great looking club sandwich that came served with chips and a deep-fried pickle, which he loved.

My only issue with The Pub was the prices, we had two casual meals and four beers for $55, not including tip.
