    Quick sit down and take out service with a decently varied menu that's certainly worth a try. The steak tips are the stand out here for sure.  The pizzas are alright - as in if I'm looking for pizza I'd be keen to try other places first but wouldn't say no to Seapoint's offerings.  Plenty of TVs which is good and cheaper beer than most places, though mine tasted watered down.  I'm assuming that was a fluke.  Anyways, you can't beat the location for us and it will be on our "I'm too lazy to cook and need something quick" list.

    Just moved to Southie & was excited to see that this place was basically in my backyard.  I've gone here 4 times thus far.  As you can see, I'm a returning customer that has rated this place 2 stars - totally due to convenience, bruins being in the playoffs, and the pizza being amazing.  I don't eat meat, so there are approx. 2 things on the menu I can eat, pizza & salad.  I will not complain because both are great!  Drinks... no free refills on soda, beers is priced averagely... whatever.  The décor, hideous, and the place is dirty.  Luckily, I'm not a germ freak.  Main issue is the waitstaff.  The first time I went there for dinner I was there for 3 hours.  Our food just wouldn't come out of the kitchen.  We asked for water 3 times before we ended up going up to the bar & getting water from the bartender.  Really? You can't remember water?!  Our food took so long that we were comped our order of fries.  Okay, cool - saved us $4.  The waitress kept telling us that she was in a fight with the owner & was bringing her drama to our table.  Awkward! Every other time I have gone there I have had the same waitress who is so loud & obnoxious ("southie charm" some may say?) that I don't know what to do with myself.  She takes 20 minutes (at least) to get you drinks... food takes forever, she never ever ever checks on you.  You are stuck to fend for yourself & go to the bar for drinks.

    To sum it up for you...
    Food = amazing
    Décor = awful
    Cleanliness = kinda grimey
    Waitstaff = worst ever, no idea how this woman still has her job.

    Will I be back?  Yes, the Bruins are still in the playoffs & this is in my backyard.  ;)

    Pros- Parking Lot. Trust me, in Southie this isn't a given.

    Very solid menu with very affordable prices. The steak tips are the best in Southie.

    Thursday night Trivia is always a good time.

    I really like the Seapoint.
    Yes it is old school. Yes it is outdated. But that just adds to the character. (and you will find characters in there as well)
    I got the turkey tips and they were fantastic. Food is nothing to write home about in terms of originality but it seems like they have solid basic "grill style" food. yummy steak tips as well.
    If you are in the mood for a homey atmosphere and comforting food, this is the perfect little neighborhood spot.

    Delicious cheap food, kind wait staff, casual atmosphere. Come for any occasion for a tasty, relaxing drink or meal. Also good for sports games: lots of TVs but no huge crowds. Come here for a great night.

    The old Bayside Club, for all of you local folks. I've been to too many "times" and functions in the hall upstairs. When William Bulger was in office, this was the site of the St. Patrick's Day breakfast. Standard bar fare and pub grub. I don't hang out in the area much anymore, but I can tell you that this place is about average.

    Brunch is back. Finally.

    Last year it was a casual brunch - order from the menu. Great food, and Bloodys and Mosas galore. Price is right. Bonus.

    Picture the Papa Ginos in the old Watertown Mall about 1985 except more run down and depressing.  Pitchers of beer come from lines so filthy, I get a headache just carrying them to the table.  The pizza is 50/50 grease to everything else which are brought to you buy a waitstaff who are pissed that they have to work at such a shitty place.  The pool tables are about as level as a ski slope and are adorned with cue sticks shaped like a banana.  I see why women say they go here to escape the "pickup scene," because it's rare that there would be a woman actually in there.  Maybe on trivia night because I've heard those are insanely busy and over-packed.  Lastly, and this goes out to everyone who keeps writing reviews of places espousing their greatness based on the Big Buck Hunter video game, that is not a reason to go anywhere.  It's a video game.  In fact, unless you're reviewing an arcade, nothing coin operated is worth going into a place anymore.  All the bars now have those same juke-boxes which charge you $1.50 to "download," a song that isn't on Journey's Greatest Hits or Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet.  To quote this Simpsons, "Wait a minute, this place isn't a faux-dive, it's just a dive!" and not a fun or charming one at that.  I've heard people say if you don't love Seapoint, you just don't get it.  Oh I get it, and it sucks.

    The Seapoint is a great place for cheap eats and good company.

    I checked out this place on a Thursday night in October 09 to see how the trivia was. Trivia starts at 8:00pm, I sat at the bar with a friend and had a couple of beers on tap, and also a burger. To start, the first thing I noticed was that the place smelled like a basement, kind of musty and damp smelling I guess. I was also surprised when I tried to order my burger from the bartender, but she said that the bar staff can't place food orders, and that I would have to place my order with one of the waitstaff. Ok, so I flag down a waitstaff and order my food. The burger was somewhat under cooked, and didn't have much flavor, but the waitress did stop back and ask if it was ok. Being a former waiter I didn't want to be a pain in the ass so I said it was a little under cooked, but I was ok with it, so no need for another one. The second surprise came when we got two separate bills. We got one bill for the food, and a separate one from the bar. Not a huge deal, but I did think it was a little bush league. The trivia was pretty fun, although there weren't too many people that night. The decor could use a little updating/streamlining, although there were several nice HD plasma TVs on the walls, definitely sufficient to watch a game on. Buck Hunter was a great plus, and I am happy to report that both of the guns seemed to be accurate. I didn't get a chance to try out the billiards, but maybe some other time. Over all, the best part about it was the free parking lot (which is a huge plus in Southie), and the trivia was pretty good. I'll probably stop in again sometime, but I won't be in any rush, and It will definately be on a trivia night.

    Jake M. the first to review can still be found here frequently. Its a very close knit crew but welcoming to newbies. I must admit i spent last NYE here which you would think makes me the saddest girl in the world but not so! We had a great low key kind of night AND didn't have to put up with the NYE traffic like years before. They have pool tables galore buck hunter and some pretty good Sunday brunch. I haven't been to trivia yet but am looking to start up a team! Anyone interested?

    Three words...BIG BUCK HUNTER! Any establishment that houses this absolutely fun-to-be-had-by-all video game is tops with me! The Seapoint is my new favorite neighborhood watering hole. Great food (try the kielbasa sausage bites), strong drinks, lovely waitstaff, and TRIVIA!!! If you are ever in Southie and you want to escape the meat market scene on Broadway...high tail it to 8th St and Covington. You won't be sorry!
    Oh, and they have an awesome Sunday breakfast with the spiciest bloody marys to tickle your fancy!!!!

    Ah, Bobo's joint. It's kind of a hole in the wall, but a good hangout just the same. Get a few pitchers of beer, pick your fav songs on the juke box and play some pool. Or come with a group and play trivia on Thurs. Or come to watch a game and have some steak tips and fries, which is def their specialty.

    It is clean and the staff is friendly and very... authentically Southie. All in all a really good neighborhood bar.

    This place is the last of a dying breed. Cheap good food, 3 pool tables, TV's everywhere, and nice staff. Thursday's here is the best. Stump Trivia night is Thursday and it is great fun.
