Slow, though friendly service. Â Announced immediately they were out of margaritas. Â I thought that's like Starbucks running out of coffee.
We ordered vodka drinks which arrived in large tumblers that were half-water/ice.
Finally ordered dinner after almost 40 minutes. Â I came out and oh, wow how terrible it was (burritos for 2 of us, fish tacos for the other 2).
They were gracious enough to refund the fish tacos, but there wasn't a redeeming quality of this place beyond location.
If there was a option for no stars I would have picked that. I went to Power and Light with my friends on Saturday night and went into Tengo Sed Cantina paid our $5 cover and went inside. Trying to get a drink at the bar was a nightmare compared to McFadden's across the way who was a hell of a lot busier. We had to meet a friend outside none of the bouncers said anything to us about having to get a stamp so when we tried to reenter the bar this girl on an ego trip started freaking out on us about how if we didn't have a stamp we didn't pay. My friend was getting quite upset as this girl was just yelling at us that we would have to pay another $5 or get out of the bar. I will never go back here when you can go right across the way and not have to pay for cover and the drinks are cheaper. If you come to Power and Light go to McFadden's don't ever go to Tengo they are running a scam by trying to get you to pay twice on their entrance fee. Its bull and not right!
Review Source:In all fairness I think this place is primarily a bar serving booze. Â Me and another associate had limited time to grab some lunch before we had to go back to a meeting so we could not wander too far. Â The Big 12 tournament was under way so almost every other place was completely packed. Â Tengo Sed was nearly empty amongst all the other packed places, that should have told us something but we were hungry and short on time.
The menu is very limited but I ordered fish tacos and my associate ordered quesadillas with ground beef or steak. Â We also ordered some guac and chips although you also get chips and salsa for free. Â Chips and salsa were ok, guac was average or below, basically tasteless. Â The quesadillas were average at best, described as no better than Taco Bell. Â My fish tacos were horrible. Was supposed to be grilled tilapia with cilantro lime slaw which sounded great and have had at many other restaurants.
Tasteless and totally blah, very little filling, cheap flour tortillas and some sort of liquid cheese, not even real cheese.
I had this lunch about 4 hours ago and feel like I ate a rock and am sick at my stomach. Â $32.24 for sub par fare that was not worth half that price. Â The server was nice and attentive, no issues there, and not her fault for sure. Â I could have complained but felt this was just what they were. Â I would avoid this place unfortunately unless you are having drinks and just want chips and salsa. Â
I really wish I had walked another block or two and found a better place.
