Johnny's Tavern

Came here to watch the Pens/Islanders Playoff game. It's right across the street from the new arena. With Kansas City more of a soccer town I was worried they wouldn't care about hockey. They could not have been more accommodating. They showed the hockey game on multiple tv's, let us turn the sound up, and never rushed us along. My colleague and i told them we'd be there for the duration of the game and they never blinked.

We started off with potato skins and pretzels to start. The pretzels were amazing and I completely drench it in the cheese. I was not as high on the potato skins, but they weren't bad either. The waitress sold two salesman on their pizza. Pizza was very tasty. I've had better, but for a marathon visit to a restaurant, it served its purpose.

We had ample attention from the waitress all night, with waters being filled even when we were slowing down. The service was wonderful and I'll be back for sure the next time I need a sports bar when I'm in KC.

I didn't eat at Johnny's Tavern (Well, I ate the rest of my friend's deep fried cheese after he didn't want any more and one of my other friend's chicken strips). However, I had several beverages. What impressed me was the fact that the server was able to give us separate checks because our party was large and because people came and went as they pleased. I love places that handle all of these separate checks! What a great place for groups!

Came here for dinner and drinks while I was in area for business.  The place was decently busy when I arrived and people continued to come in.  They have a rather large bar area which is where we sat.  The bartender gave us just the right amount of attention.

I was surprised at the price of their food as it was rather reasonable (especially compared with other restaurants in the area).  I ordered a steak salad and really enjoyed it!  The drinks were rather weak.  I hardly had a buzz after 4 drinks and believe me, I should have had more than a slight buzz if they were correctly made drinks.

I would come back again for the reasonably priced food but would go somewhere else for good drinks.
