My husband and I came here last week to see the Black Keys, so I thought I would review it. We've been here many times to concerts and sporting events. For The Black Keys, we were on the other side of the venue from the stage and I just thought it was too far away. I brought my binoculars! However, that's my own fault for waiting too long to buy tickets.
The venue itself is amazing. There isn't a bad seat, and while some people say the seats are steep, as a short gal, I appreciate it. The tall people in front of me don't keep me from seeing the show. The concourses are wide, the place is clean, the bathrooms are, relatively, plentiful and there are always lots of people around cleaning and picking up trash. The food is expensive, but it always is at these types of events.
Great job, Kansas City, on doing something right for a change!
You know that feeling of being "weak-in-the-knees"? Not the one when you see a Ryan Gosling meme, but the kind that you feel when you're absolutely scared of heights. Yup, that one. That is exactly how you feel if you are ever up top at the Sprint Center. Kidding aside, I see what they did there... it's so steep that you can pretty much see everything, no matter how high up you sit; not minding if someone tall is sitting in front of you. So I'd say it makes sense.
Other than that, the facility itself is really well kept. I read somewhere that Sprint was the busiest venue in the country and I would definitely believe it. It seems like there is always something going on, which is really great! They're bringing a lot of business into KC and that is something to be proud of. Everything is clearly labeled and easy to find and the workers I've encountered have always been helpful. Bathrooms are for the most part, clean. Of course all the concessions are over-priced but that comes with the venue, I suppose.
Other things that are lame: CONVENIENCE CHARGES.
Also, parking isn't that great, but if you grab dinner (or say you're grabbing dinner or a movie) you can get the $2 parking for PnL patrons. This is versus the $10-20 event parking (also lame).
On the positive side: sound is awesome, the acts they bring are relevant, and it's just a fun night when you finally make it to the show!
